Doom Metal legends Cathedral are going out with a bang as they announce the release of their new music video for their song 'Tower Of Silence'. - The video can be seen above.

Inspired by classic cult British Film Institutions such as Amicus and Hammer House of Horror, 'Tower of Silence' was shot on location during the British Winter of 2012 at Gunnersbury Park Tower, London. It features a guest appearance from Purson's Rosalie Cunningham, who places a symbolic black orchid on the tombstone of each member in the clips closing scenes.

Directed by UK based Paraffin City Productions, Tower of Silence will be the last full production promo video ever made by this British Doom Metal institution and is taken from their final album, "The Last Spire", out 29th April on Rise Above Records.

Kylesa premiere “Quicksand,” a new song from their forthcoming album "Ultraviolet", (due to be released 28th May via Season of Mist), via Spin (http://www.spin.com/articles/kylesa-quicksand-ultraviolet-stream).

"'Quicksand' is a quick 2:35 of ghostly dreamdoom that joins the melodies of '90s shoegaze with the churn of modern sludge and a riff straight from the Billy Corgan playbook,” says Spin in a brief write-up accompanying the song stream, adding that the song is “a muscular swirl that should please anyone who thought m b v didn't have enough shouting.”

The band has also unveiled the cover art for "Ultraviolet", which was done by Sean Beaudry.  Beaudry, a fellow Savannah resident, did the artwork for the band’s "Time Will Fuse Its Worth" reissue.

Pre-order bundles for the new album are available now via (http://e-shop.season-of-mist.com/en/predefined-search/37879).

Track listing:

1. Exhale
2. Unspoken
3. Grounded
4. We’re Taking This
5. Long Gone
6. What Does It Take
7. Steady Breakdown
8. Low Tide
9. Vulture’s Landing
10. Quicksand
11. Drifting

Kylesa will play a free, all ages show in their hometown of Savannah at The Dollhouse on 19th April as a way to thank fans for their ongoing support. Pitchfork, in the band’s first interview regarding "Ultraviolet" (http://pitchfork.com/features/show-no-mercy/9084-kylesa/), said of the album: “It’s the… heavy rock band’s darkest, most atmospheric record to date. The collection, which features an array of subtle electronic elements, makes for an expressive, immersive listen that will likely find the double-drumming quintet a larger audience.”

Unspoken,” also from "Ultraviolet", was released online in late February, leading Stereogum to say “… if the album’s first single is any indication, they’ve continued moving away from their peers as well as their own past, conquering new territory,” adding “it’s a total triumph.”  The song can be streamed here:  https://soundcloud.com/season-of-mist/kylesa-unspoken.

_Italy’s very own Tombstone Highway is the newest member of the Agonia Records roster and a fresh addition to the label’s expanding profile. The band emerges from the muddy shores of The Po River in Piacenza and draws strong inspiration from the rural and folklore parts of its homeland. Their upcoming debut album is a classic blend of feisty Stoner/Southern Rock and Doom Metal, with catchy guitar solos and old-school heavy metal parts that may remind of Lynyrd Skynyrd, Corrison Of Conformity, Pride and Glory, Down, Black Sabbath, or even ZZ Top riffage. Apart from Hard Rock instruments, the band uses also a banjo and Hammond organs.

3 songs (raw and unmastered versions) from Tombstone Highway can be heard at their Reverb Nation profile here.

The release date of the debut album entitled 'Ruralizer' is scheduled for this Autumn.

The band has issued the following statement with regards to the signing: "

We are pleased to announce that we signed with Agonia Records for the release of our first album 'Ruralizer'. We're very proud of how the album came out and we strongly believe it's the perfect way to begin our legacy. People into heavy, ballsy southern-tinged Hard Rock should take note!"

_Metal Blade Records have made another addition to their roster with the signing of Germany's Downfall of Gaia! The band eschews clichés and delivers a monolithic, yet melodic, wall of sound. Formed in 2008 in Hannover, Germany to date the band has released a demo cd, a split tape, a split LP, and a full length album. Their split with In The Hearts of Emperors can be found on bandcamp here.

Starting out as a crust band then developing further, the band has become much more difficult to compare to any other bands. Over the years, their songs became longer, slower, heavier; their influences range from doom to black metal, from down-tempo, to sludge, and hardcore.

The band comments on their deal with Metal Blade Records:

"We feel quite honored to be a part of the Metal Blade family and to work with one of the most notable labels in the world! We are really excited about our Metal Blade debut and the future! A big thank you to all the people who supported us in any way during the last years, without you all of this wouldn't be possible!"

Their concept album, "Suffocating In The Swarm Of Cranes", will be released later on in 2012.

BAND LINE-UP

Dominik Goncalves dos Reis – vocals/guitars
Peter Wolff – vocals/guitars
Anton Lisovoj – vocals/bass

_Agonia Records have recently announced the signing of Swedish Doom Metal outfit Kongh.

This relatively new band, formed back in 2004, has quickly risen amongst the ranks of Swedish acts worth watching, being nominated to the P3 Guld Award (Swedish equivalent of the Grammy Awards) for their debut album. After a successful and intense tour with critically acclaimed Yob in September and October of 2011, Kongh focused on writing their 3rd to date album: yet untitled and expected for early 2013.

The band has issued the following statement regarding the new deal and upcoming release:

"Three years have passed since our last album was released, and we're stoked to announce that the song writing for a whole new album is now finalized. We'll skip the in-depth details for now since it's nearly possible to give a sensible description of your own music, but there's definitely some new twists and dimensions there as well as the traditional Kongh riffage. One thing we can say for sure is that we're very enthusiastic about the songs and we cannot wait to enter the studio! It will happen at the end of the summer, with Karl Daniel Lidén (Dozer, Switchblade) in the engineering seat. Another thing we're happy about is the new record deal with Agonia Records. We've been in touch with them for well over a year now, and while we've had a few offers from different labels, Agonia was the one which seemed to suit us best. Our expectations are high and we're sure this will turn out great".
