Progressive Metallers Midhaven, based out of Mumbai, India have signed to Universal Music (India) to release their debut full-length album. The release is slated for the end of March 2014.
Commented Midhaven frontman Karan Kaul:
"We're honored that a major record label is appreciating the metal scene that has gradually grown over the years in our country. Signing with a label like Universal Music is an amazing feat for us, for a couple of years back, we were just a bunch of college kids with a dream."
"Midhaven is a brilliant young metal band we are thrilled to represent; their music is a powerful combination of skilful musicianship, mystic & emotive lyrics and unbridled enthusiasm. Their album is an intense start for a band who are committed to produce & perform the best that you can hear in this genre" said Sridhar TVN the A&R of Universal Music (India)
Midhaven was formed in 2011 and very quickly built a commendable following in the underground scene. In 2013 the band released their debut EP titled 'Tales From The Tide' to much acclaim from fans. The EP though was more rock and the band changed their sound to a much heavier one for the new album.

Orbweaver will be touring in support of their "Strange Transmissions From The Neuralnomicon" EP, released upon the masses last Summer. Crowned "twitchy, trippy tech death" by Invisible Oranges, the critically-lauded five-track "Strange Transmissions From The Neuralnomicon" is a multi-textured sonic exploration through time and space. Recorded at Miami's Pinecrust Studios with Jonathan Nunez of Torche and mixed / mastered with Brian Elliot at Mana Recording Studios (Hate Eternal, Cannibal Corpse, Goatwhore, Exhumed), the band transcends leagues beyond traditional genre realms with their cosmic fusion of Psychedelia, noise, and a warped interpretation of Progressive Death Metal. Shifting between these erratic, trance-like elements, the foursome produce interplanetary pandemonium reminiscent of a Zappa-esque brand of controlled and wildly elegiac chaos.
"Strange Transmissions From The Neuralnomicon" was initially released in a limited run of 100 cassette tapes via Primitive Violence Records HERE and on CD direct through the band. The record is also available digitally via their official BandCamp page where you can twist your cranium to "Strange Transmissions From The Neuralnomicon" in full. Point your browser HERE.
"Death metal weirdos like Gorguts and Obscura hook up with the unstable bent of Dysrhythmia and Psyopus for a sensory taxing good time." - Decibel
"ORBWEAVER have definitely blended the right mix of atmosphere with the right mix of experimental technical death metal to make a listen that is superbly solid and second to none. Whatever you want to call this stuff, I definitely hope to hear more 'alien metal' in the future. 5/5" - New Noise Magazine
"What we're talking here is off-the-wall, structureless noise tech that borders on the type of irreverence built by instrumental group Behold The Arctopus, complete with insane space atmospherics. I found that very little of Strange Transmissions From The Neuralnomicon actually made sense, but that in and of itself is one of Orbweaver's many charms." - HeavyBlogIsHeavy

With the official North American release of their new full-length, "Obsideo", nearly two weeks away, today the miscreants at MetalSucks offer up a premiere of "Aura Negative" from Dutch progressive metal extremists, Pestilence.
Produced by vocalist / guitarist Patrick Mameli, "Obsideo", which means "to besiege," is the band's inaugural recording for Candlelight Records and first new material from the four-piece since 2011. "Obsideo" boasts Mameli and his innovative guitar work. Utilizing eight-string guitars for the album's recording, the celebrated musician expands his already massive arsenal of riffs. Together with long-time guitarist Patrick Uterwijk, Mameli, bassist George Maier and drummer Dave Haley deliver a scorching, genre-defying effort.
"Obsideo is one of the catchiest death metal albums to come along recently," and, "a good return to form for one of the genre's pioneers," :- Apeshit
"New drummer David Haly (Blood Duster, Psycroptic) is a Godsend and throws down a whirlwind of dynamic fills and rolls while laying waste to his kit in service of these hyper-kinetic nuggets of mayhem. I found my ears locking into to what the drums were doing way more than usual, and with so much else going on, that's a testament to his performance." :- AngryMetalGuy
"Obsideo has smoothly combined both sides of the Pestilence sound, old and new, and the resulting merger sounds pretty damn good." :- Adds Metal Reviews

"Obsideo" will be released in North America via Candlelight Records on November 11th.
BAND FACT: Only two members of the original band line-up are in the current line-up: Francesco Lupi & Daniele Valseriati

German Progressive Death Metallers Nailed To Obscurity have posted a teaser for "Opaque", the band's forthcoming sophomore album and first to feature new vocalist Raimund Ennenga. Check out the teaser at this location.
The follow-up to the band's 2007, self-released debut, "Abyss", "Opaque" will be released on September 20th in Germany, September 23rd in the UK and the rest of Europe and October 1st in North America through Apostasy Records. "Opaque" was produced together with Lasse Lammert at LSD-Studio in Lübeck, Germany. Artwork comes courtesy of Ben Borucki (Irrleuchten).
The band comments admits that: "By suppressing our deepest feelings and by concealing our fears and emotions we mask our inner self. This topic runs like a red thread through our new album. No other title would fit the content better than "Opaque". The artwork, which was done by Ben Borucki, captures this atmosphere perfectly and creates a symbiosis between the music, the lyrics and the art."

Since 2005, the name Nailed To Obscurity has stood for an inventive mélange of hard riffs, atmospheric melancholy and a distinctively unique sound. The band has already displayed all of these qualities on their debut album, "Abyss", recorded at the Soundlodge Studio with producer Joerg Uken (God Dethroned, Izegrim a.o.).
After the release of their debut, Nailed To Obscurity focused their energies on progressing as a band and elevated themselves to the next level through numerous shows and their consistent pursuit of musical refinement. The results have clearly paid off with their newest masterpiece, "Opaque".
