Helsinki based progressive melodic metal band Numento has released a new single from their upcoming second album to be released on October 28th. The theme of the track "The Vile Entity" as well as the main theme on the whole full length record is about the essence and manifestation of evilness. Band backgrounds the song: "The Vile Entity is the title track of Numento's upcoming second album. The third single introduces the new intensive sound of the band comprehensively and gives an accurate overview of what is going to be expected from the album as a whole. The themes of the album and the title track are built on an enigma about the seed of evil, how does a human or other entity become evil -- how are serial killers and other criminals born? The new single will dive right into this question since the antagonist of the story is one of the most famous and cunning serial murderers ever known, and who managed to hide his true face for a long time by appearing innocent to the people around him. The story of the single will be introduced with a visually interesting and thrilling music video."
The origin of Numento dates back to 2004. That year a few schoolmates from eastern Helsinki decided to start playing instruments. And of course before anyone had learned a single chord it felt mandatory to also form a band. A metal band. During the following years the band changed its name a couple times. It wasn’t until late 2010 when the band decided to change its name for the last time. The name Numento was chosen after a long night. The lineup has had few changes after that, but it was that time that the band started to find it's own sound that you can still recognize in their music. NUMENTO:

Finnish extreme metallers Anzillu return with “The Cleansing Flame” music video and digital single7/10/2022 Finnish extreme metal phenoms Anzillu – whose sound is punctuated by buzz-saw guitar riffs delivered with equal amounts of dexterous shredding and pummelling brute force – release the third sample from their anticipated debut album. Today “The Cleansing Flame” digital single is available on all streaming and download platforms and you can watch the video here - https://youtu.be/BAYtMtM3mJQ. Compiled from studio photos taken of the band during the recording process of ‘Ex Nihilo’ at the famed Sonic Pump Studio with producer Nino Laurenne (Amorphis, Wintersun, Lost Society) producing and mixing. “’The Cleansing Flame’ is a track I wanted to write about driving a big block muscle car,” explains guitarist Jesse Kämäräinen. “Although the lyrics don’t have anything to do with it, the music I had in mind was written as a soundtrack to the smell of gasoline and the sound of loud V8 engines. The song has a mean attitude and drive to it and it takes an unexpected turn in the bridge.” “The lyric video is composed of photographs from the recording sessions of the upcoming debut album. Now one year later, those photos bring back great memories and we wanted to share them with you too. Some gearheads may also be interested about the process and equipment we used.” As mentioned, “The Cleansing Flame” is the third offering from the group following up slamming numbers like “Trumpets Of War” https://youtu.be/AqGvf-qLHFg and “Needles (On My Nerves)” https://youtu.be/AVY2HntvZR8. Keep an eye out for more information about next year’s full album release, ‘Ex Nihilo,’ and pre-order options for CD and limited coloured vinyl soon. Though the band itself is new, the musicians comprising Anzillu are not inexperienced. The new group – whose name is inspired by the ancient Sumerian word for “abomination” - was formed in 2019 by guitarist Jesse Kämäräinen after the dissolution of his previous group Inkvisitor, which released two records of thrash-influenced extreme metal between 2015 and 2018. Kämäräinen had already demoed an album's worth of new material at the time of that development, and went on to bring in a battery of fellow notables that had also been making their names within Finnish metal circles to form Anzillu. The searing vocal talents of Teemu Kemppainen (Argent Void), the thunderous bass of Rasmus Kantonen, and the death metal crunch of fellow guitarist Sami Katajainen (GAF) join Kämäräinen's six-string powers to deliver a blistering assault of aural senses. Anzillu – now armed with a full album's worth of material and their collective metallic powers – honed the existing demos into their final form throughout the first half of last year, and entered Sonic Pump Studios in August 2021 with Nino Laurenne (Wintersun, Amorphis, Lost Society) behind the soundboard handling recording/mixing duties and Svante Forsbäck (Volbeat, Candlemass, Kalmah) mastering. More information on Anzillu their debut album, and their plans for additional live shows will be revealed in the weeks to come by M-Theory Audio and at www.facebook.com/anzillufi. ANZILLU is:
Genre-merging Amberian Dawn emerges again with a brand new offering, bringing world famous songs by the legendary ABBA into the metal world. The covers album Take A Chance – A Metal Tribute to ABBA will be released on December 2, 2022 via Napalm Records. Following their passion, this album pays tribute to one of their biggest inspirations and ushers in the dawn of an entirely new spin on the metal genre. As a first taste of what can be expected, Amberian Dawn have released the first single from the album, entitled “SOS“, plus a new lyric video. This inarguable evergreen the metal unit has skilfully re-imagined implements their own characteristic sound - showing their full range with trademark ABBA-flavoured keys, renowned lyrics and a guitar driven sound to create a unique experience. Tuomas Seppälä on the new single: “’SOS’ is a great song. It's both a happy and sad song at the same time. The original version uses a unique piano sound. I didn’t want to use that kind of piano sound myself, because it wouldn’t have been as good as the original, so instead of that, I used more powerful guitars and other synthesizers in our arrangement. Our version of the song really brings ABBA into the world of metal in the 21st century.” Watch the video HERE: Continuing their legacy from the previous album, Looking For You (2020), Amberian Dawn have assembled to follow their passion and take a chance at being the dawn of a new era for the metal genre with Take A Chance – A Metal Tribute to ABBA. Introducing ABBA-Metal, the band does not shy away from experimenting with genres while still staying true to their metal origins. Earworms combined with characteristic Amberian Dawn elements truly metallicize the ABBA legacy and transform it into a metal experience like never heard before. With skilfully implemented synthesizers creating vintage sounding keys, guitar riffs and vocalist Capri’s angelic voice, the original lines immerse perfectly with rocking instrumentals. Dashing drums ensure a high-paced experience that expresses the band’s identity without losing the catchy ABBA-reminiscent keyboards, renowned lyrics and nostalgic feeling of the original. Including evergreens like “Mamma Mia” and “Super Trouper”, Amberian Dawn enchants with a variety of tracks. Representing a wide array of ABBA songs from high energy to moving metal ballads like “Like An Angel Walking Through My Room”, the band delivers astounding ABBA-Metal to a broad audience. So Take A Chance on Amberian Dawn’s new album and get lost anew in the glorious new metal world of ABBA. Tuomas Seppälä on the album: “This was a ‘must do album’ for me. We had so much fun in 2019 working on our first cover song ever (which was ABBA’s ‘Lay All Your Love On Me’), that it was easy to make a decision to continue with a full ABBA covers album. The songs have been carefully selected, there’s a couple of big hit songs of course, but some of my personal favourites, like ‘The Day Before You Came’, are also included. The recording project was eventually a really big challenge for all of us and needed a lot of work, but we’re all 100% satisfied with the results. This album really sounds like an Amberian Dawn album.” Take A Chance – A Metal Tribute to ABBA is available in the following formats:
Finnish heavy metal band Ratbreed release their new single Master Of Deception via Wormholedeath. Formed in 2015, the band released their debut album Evoke The Blaze in 2018 and thrived as a solid live act in the Finnish rock club circuit. After a small hiatus, due to line-up changes and Covid-19-related cancellations, they are now working on their second album and offer the first taste of what Ratbreed sounds like in 2022. The song was mixed and mastered again at Soundspiral Audio by Swallow The Sun guitarist Juho Räihä. Cover art was made by Petri Lampela and Master Of Deception video by Niko Sihvonen (Rocktografia).
Formed in 2015, Ratbreed have gained a reputation in the Finnish metal scene ever since. After a bunch of gigs and getting enough material, the band was ready to wrap up their debut album. Mixed and mastered by Swallow The Sun guitarist Juho Räihä at Soundspiral Audio, Evoke The Blaze was released via Inverse Records in July 2018, followed by more live shows. In 2019-2020 the band had some line-up changes as guitarist Markus Taipale and bassist Lauri Palmunen decided to part ways, quickly replaced by Fabio de Oliveira and Tatu Nyman. After the mandatory concert break due to Covid-19, the band successfully hit the stages. While still working on the second album, they are ready to present the new single Master Of Deception, released by Wormholedeath.
Finnish Love Metal pioneer Ville Valo (VV) of HIM will release his debut solo album, Neon Noir, on January 13 via Heartagram Records, distributed by UMG/ Spinefarm. Pre-order it here. "Neon Noir is a sonic step-by-step guide on how to survive, and perhaps even enjoy, the realm of VV with its abundance of things that go bump in the night," says Valo. "It's a teary mascara marathon between Robert Smith and Ozzy, with a dash of hope."
In the annals of 21st century alternative rock history, there are few artists who cast a longer or more peculiar shadow than Finnish Love Metal pioneer Ville Valo. After all, his band HIM was easily among the most iconic and idiosyncratic groups of the millennium. Zealously revered, gleefully reviled but impossible to ignore, their music left an indelible mark on a worldwide legion of fans. The scarlet letters stood for "His Infernal Majesty." Their founder stood for something delightedly out of step with the status quo. "We only hoped to temporarily redirect hard rock's blood flow from the nether regions towards the heart," reminisces Valo, the singer, songwriter, and primus motor of HIM. Judging by the monolithic presence of the Heartagram in any account of music this side of the millennium, it's apparent that he succeeded. Inspired by everyone from Poe to Bukowski and tinged by a penchant for perfumed Sabbathian gloom, Valo's creative lovechild would produce eight era-defining studio releases and over 10 million record sales, not forgetting a Grammy nomination, countless magazine covers, critical acclaim, and the veneration of a generation. Thus, it came as no surprise that the news of a farewell tour in 2017 was greeted with shock and disbelief among devotees and endless speculation as to what or who was to take up the velvet mantle. “As fun as the funeral rites for HIM were, it took me more than a few moons to lick my wounds in the shadow of the Heartagram and come up with an excuse to strum and hum again. Eventually, I decided put a leash on my beloved black dog and we started howling together instead of barking at each other. That's how VV was born." Finnish melodic metal band Dreamferno was founded 2007-2008 in Savonian town of Juva. They released their debut album Equilibrium in 2014 and after that Solitude Remains - EP in 2016. After the EP the band has released some single releases from witch Cosmic Debris track was hidden to a radio on Remedy Entertainment's game Control. Currently Dreamferno is working on a double album with Krzysztof Dobosiewicz composing the orchestrations to the album. Obsolete Certes reveals the heavy and massive side of the band. The lyrics are about oppression and people living under it.
Finnish four piece Apocalyptica have dropped their very own Cello-Metal reinterpretation of classical bangers with the new EP Metal Classic, Classic Metal. Release day also sees the band unleash the focus track 'Flight of the Bumblebees' originally by Nikolai Rimski-Korsakow. On the EP's focus track, Perttu Kivilaakso states: "'Flight of the Bumblebee' is one of the most well-known virtuosic pieces. I have played it during my classical years many times, always aiming for faster and faster performances. This time I thought it would be the coolest thing to make a rough and heavy 'Bee' for our band, basically creating the slowest and most doomy 'Bumblebee' ever! It's fascinating how musical structures can work out in many various ways! This 'Bee' is heavy and angry, but surely flies out with a smile on her face and a blink in it's eye!" Metal Classic, Classic Metal also includes a new version of Beethoven’s '5th Symphony' as well as a re-do of Maurice Ravel’s 'Bolero'. The full EP is available HERE. Finnish hair metalcore eccentrics One Morning Left have released new single / video 'Tonight', the first new music from the band since the release of their 2021 album Hyperactive, out now via Arising Empire. The single comes ahead of One Morning Left's Neon Inferno Above Europe tour.
Vocalist / guitarist Leevi Luoto commented: "Are you ready to shake your booty!? Are you ready to mosh!? Are you ready to sing along!? After our triumphant tour with Electric Callboy and Blind Channel we are back with a banger new single! 'Tonight' is a perfect mixture of danceable groove, heavy riffs, 80's hard rock, 80's synth soundscape and extra catchy vocals! Be sure to catch us soon on our headline tour across Europe with Ukraine's CrossChains and Finland's Somehow Jo!" Tickets available here: https://www.eventim.de/artist/one-morning-left/

The bloody, brutal and tragic story of the birth of the Inquisition and the rise of the church of Rome as the spiritual super-power of the era is backed by melodic yet heavy guitar rhythms which breathe with acoustic segments, all interspersed amongst monster metal riffs and searing drum grooves.
