We all know how well K-Pop has done over the last decade or so, not to mention the obvious global viral success of 'Gangnam Style' by K-Pop artist Psy. But it's no mystery that Germany, who over the years have become slightly obsessed with the whole Visual Kei / Manga aesthetics through the likes of the now defunct band Cinema Bizarre and pop rockers Tokio Hotel, are to stop at nothing when it comes to sending what arguably could be said as one of the most intriguing Eurovision entry's by Germany. Here's hoping the 18-year old won't buckle under the pressure of such a grandeur event, not that she should have any long-lasting worries having romped to the finale of “The Voice of Germany” last December Dubbed the "Miss Manga", Jamie-Lee garnered her attention whilst being a part of “The Voice” team von Michi Beck & Smudo (Die Fantastischen Vier), this unique musician hasn't let her success control her and instead has remained focused on what she wants to achieve, namely visit Korea, live as a vegan and dedicate herself to her love of the Japanese “Decora Kei” style. Said style has in fact through her gone viral, with her outfits trending across social media and this infectious cultural clash between German nationality and Far Eastern pop music will make her a hot contender to win Eurovision 2016, if only for originality. With Jamie Lee's new album "Berlin" set to drop on 29th April, can we expect this teenage pop princess to be as kawaii as her music? Let's hope so. Check out her Eurovision song entry below (Eurovision is on the 14th May, coming live from Stockholm after Sweden's Måns Zelmerlöw won it last year):- 'Ghost' is not your average cheesy lovey-dovey romance song, it in fact looks at the more emotional side to the feeling, one that Jamie Lee found easy to express as she explains:- "I am an emotional being. I might sometimes appear a little loud or provocative, but I am also a very deep person. I need the ups and downs of life. Tough times are needed too, they make us enjoy the good times more.” With all participants, it's 100% effort for the performance but for the result? Well this is 50% destiny and 50% luck, voters can propel artists into international stardom such as ABBA, disrupt the traditional pop entry history through Heavy Metallers Lordi, but ultimately choose an artist who has won over hearts from well over 40 countries thus making them an overnight success. Speaking of luck, the Irish have the horse shoe and Jamie Lee has a pendant given to her by her role models and coaches of “The Voice of Germany”, Michi Beck and Smudo. This pendant will be worn by her on the night. Of course she wants to win, who wouldn't? But you can be too optimistic, however Jamie Lee feels that being there is an achievement worth equal recognition as potentially winning it:- “It is a huge honour to have been chosen to participate in the ESC and to represent Germany in Stockholm. Taking part in this contest is for me an amazing opportunity to bring people closer to my music. Music is my life; it was always my absolute dream to perform in front of a large audience. I so look forward to it!” "Berlin" TRACKLIST:
