American blackened symphonic deathcore A Wake In Providence release new single 'We Are Eternity'25/9/2022 New York, USA deathcore band A Wake In Providence have released their mighty new single 'We Are Eternity', taken from their highly-anticipated new record Eternity, to be released 21st October via Unique Leader Records.
The band comment: "We are so excited to bring you, 'We Are Eternity'! This song really brings more of this story to the table and gives you great insight into who The Trinity is and what role they play in this narrative. Thank you to everyone involved with creating this and to you all for checking it out!" Formed in 2010 from unremarkable beginnings, A Wake In Providence diligently grew to become the renowned and otherworldly force they are today. Originally a heavier-than-your-average deathcore act, the band’s debut 2010 demo and 2012 debut EP Serpents saw them infusing a raw and ruthless take on traditional deathcore with contemporary metallic elements to make something sharp enough to cut its way through the thicket of bland, boring heavy music acts. While Serpents gained the band notoriety in their local area, it wasn’t until the release of their sophomore EP, Insidious, that the band went from prodigally talented to true rising stars in the heavy music community. Adding a liberal dose of downtempo deathcore to their instrumental stylings, Insidious earned the band global infamy and critical acclaim, as well as tours with some of the underground’s bigger names-including In Dying Arms, Extortionist and Lorna Shore, as well as several smaller solo runs along the East Coast. Never ones to remain complacent, A Wake In Providence grew once more in 2016, with the addition of Will Ramos (now with Lorna Shore), but also with their drastic stylistic change, omitting their penchant for low, slow downtempo deathcore in favour of a renewed focus on more aggressive, fast and furious traditional deathcore elements with a razor-sharp technical twist. Combining marvellous metallic riffs with crushing breakdowns and shrill, sinister vocals to create an intense onslaught unlike any other band in the heavy music scene, A Wake In Providence are vile enough to make the sewers look clean, and vicious enough to tear the still-beating heart out of the listener's chest. Now a quartet with new vocalist Adam Mercer and signing with the legendary Unique Leader Records, A Wake In Providence's status looks set to only rise further. A Wake In Providence are:

Poland's provocative black / thrash outfit Witchmaster announces "Kaźń" as the title of its new studio album, set for release on November 25th via Agonia Records. Read on for cover artwork, track listing and other details. Witchmaster ends its seven-year slumber to bring more chaos and clamour through the art of blackened thrash metal. Since 1996, the band descends deeper and deeper into an absurd theatre of cruelty, pursuing the cold embrace of aural depravity and darkness. "Sipping blood from skulls and gnawing the bones of old gods, we hope to let you down once again," comments the band perversely. Witchmaster comprises of bassist and vocalist Reyash (Azarath (live), ex-Vader, Supremer Lord), guitarist and vocalist Kali (Five the Hierophant, ex-Profanum), drummer and guitarist Inferno (Azarath, Behemoth) and vocalist Bastis (ex-Profanum). "Kaźń" was recorded at Satanic Audio (Blaze of Perdition, Behemoth) by Harald Grunberg and mixed and mastered at the same studio by Harald Grunberg and Inferno. Cover artwork by Durda. Skade is a one-man band from Bergen, Norway, playing black metal. The band aims to recapture the rawness of the original Norwegian wave of black metal while still innovating the sound. The music is rough around the edges, like black metal should be, but also not afraid of injecting some dynamics (and even soft parts). Lyrical themes include: misanthropy, resentment, mythological allegories, death. At its core, Skade will always be about a noisy and intense soundscape. In the same way that popular hair metal in the 80s had lost contact with the roots of heavy metal, so it can be argued that modern black metal has lost contact with its own roots. Contemporary black metal is often high fidelity, commercial and approachable. This is a far cry from what made black metal black metal in the first place. One of the main points of Skade as a project, is to recapture that rawness that black metal should have. Skade is:

Released by Ketzer Records (Europe), Dawnrazor Records (South America) and Helvete Records (Mexico) on July 15th, 2022.
“Archetypes” has the lyrics inspired by the book Enuma Elish, which is the oldest written myth about the gods creation, under the Babylonians cosmological view. The myth depicts Tiamat in the form of a giant serpent, while Marduk, with his vast arsenal, faces several battles to defeat her. After his victory, Marduk becomes the leader of the gods by acclamation and he divides Tiamat's corpse into two parts, the upper half becoming heaven and the lower half becoming earth. Then he creates humanity with his blood and bones. Enuma Elish, known as the seven tablets of creation, is considered by scholars to be the primary source material for the book of Genesis. When the seven tablets were discovered, evidence indicated that they had been used in a "ritual", meaning that it was recited during a ceremony. In the video we try to illustrate this story in a broader and more subjective way, also bringing out a kind of socio-political criticism, showing that those ancient thoughts and myths can still find an echo in real life, today, and in different ways. The music video is a production of Head Label Audiovisual, an agency led by Walter de Andrade, who was responsible for the camera, direction and post-production. We had the actor Valber Rodrigues performing with a fantastic characterization, with the help of the makeup artist Wanessa Brazil and the costumes by Leo Zincone. The work was excellent!
Non Serviam Records is happy to announce the signing of the exciting symphonic black metal band Mist Of Misery from Stockholm, Sweden. Mist Of Misery was formed by Mortuz Denatus (Vanhelga) in 2010 in the northern suburbs of Stockholm with the vision to create music that was based on melancholy, darkness, depression and atmosphere. The band released the EP "Bleak Autumn" EP, followed by the full-length album by the same name in 2011. The EP "Temple Of Stilled Voices" saw the light of the day in 2013. Mist Of Misery released their second full-length entitled "Abscence" in 2016 which showcased the progression the band had made since their early days. Thanks to its blend of atmospheric black metal and symphonic and depressive elements, the album was very well received around the world getting tremendous reviews. Before its release, Livsnekaren had joined the band on drums and was soon followed by Tenebris (ex-Vanhelga and ex-GRÁ), who joined the band on bass for various live performances and later became a permanent member in 2017. The band followed up the critically acclaimed album with two EP’s in 2017 entitled "Shackles of Life" and "Fields of Isolation". The following years Mist Of Misery performed at festivals in Bulgaria, Germany and Wales as well as various gigs in their own home country while writing their next album. The epic and grandiose double record "Unalterable" (2019) displayed the band's evolved atmospheric sound. It garnered much praise and paved the way for another evolution in the soundscape of Mist Of Misery, which was made evident when the band began working on a new album, along with the new singer Änglamakaren (Night Crowned). The writing of their new effort took the band’s symphonic sound to new heights. Mist Of Misery finished the recording of the album in early 2022 and soon signed with Non Serviam Records, with a planned release this Fall. The band comments on the signing news: "Mist Of Misery are pleased to announce they have signed with Non Serviam Records for the release of their fourth full-length album this fall, entitled ’Severance’. We look forward to collaborating with such a dedicated and well established label such as Non Serviam Records”. Ricardo Gelok, Non Serviam Records owner continues: "I knew the band from their previous releases, and I was really happy they decided to send me their new promo... I really love their musical landscape. The more I listen to the songs the more I discover new things ". More details about the new album and a first taste of what it has to offer will be unveiled soon.

In 2003 the second demo Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors was recorded (without Ruen, he wasn’t in Ukraine at that time). This demo was released in 2008 by Ukrainian label Black Art Prods as a split with Tini Zabutyh Predkiv. Ruen comes back to Ukraine in 2009 and starts to work with the new line-up on the first LP. This album, called Wind Of Freedom was recorded in 2011 and released in 2013 via Svarga Music. FACEBOOK | TWITTER | YOUTUBE | BANDCAMP Finnish melodic death / black metal discovery Aarctora have signed a licensing deal with Wormholedeath for their album "The Storm Is Over", due for release on September the 30th, 2022. "I wrote the album by myself during difficult times, both personally and globally. I do hope the songs bring joy to someone else who is struggling. We are extremely proud to be taken in by Wormholedeath to aid us in our journey. May the storm soon be over." - Joel From the cold north, the storm arrives. Combining all genres of northern metal, Arctora will take you on a journey through a landscape of the soul. Through summer storms and raging blizzards, from the quiet woodlands to vast forests of snow. A promise of hope and the inevitable feeling of melancholy. Arctora tells stories of personal struggles with introspective and vivid lyrics, hoping to offer solace to the listener in their own troubles. The feeling of catharsis through music. "Let not your heart be turned to stone, By all manner of earthly woes" Following in the wake of FORTÍÐ's highly praised sixth album, "World Serpent", which also won the prestigious "album of the month" titles in German magazines Metal Hammer and Sonic Seducer, the band now offers a first glimpse of great things to come in the shape of the two-track EP "Dómur um dauðan hvern" ("Judgement of Everyone Dead"). The Icelandic pagan black metal trio now reveals the lyric video single 'För' ("Journey") as a tasty sample of the MCD, which is slated for release on November 18, 2022.
FORTÍÐ comment: "The first track on the 'Dómur um dauðan hvern' EP is called 'För', which translates to 'journey', but the word can also be taken to mean 'marks' as in the plural of a mark", mastermind Einar Eldur Thorberg aka Einar Thorberg Guðmundsson explains. "Well, both translations apply in this case, because this song deals with mankind's journey throughout the ages and the indelible marks that we leave behind." With their two-track EP "Dómur um dauðan hvern" ("Judgement of Everyone Dead"), FORTÍÐ sent out an impressive sign of life. The Icelandic pagan black metal outfit continues in the massive footprints that their current album "World Serpent" has left. Epic Icelandic melodies, sharp riffing that draws from black, death, thrash, and heavy metal as well as Einar Eldur Thorberg's distinct vocals combine into fiery and spirited new songs. At the end of December 2020, FORTÍÐ were visibly on the rise. Having moved back to Iceland and with a new line-up, mastermind Einar scored heavily with "World Serpent" in soundchecks, end of the year lists in the press and with sales soaring as well, it looked like those descendants of the Vikings were about to set sail again and take the world by storm. The world had other plans. For all too well known reasons, FORTÍÐ ended up stuck at home instead of touring. Instead of twiddling thumbs, FORTÍÐ decided to hone their weapons by writing new material and to weather out the global storm season in their rehearsal room and later in the studio to make the best out of the situation. The first new songs on "Dómur um dauðan hvern" demonstrate that "World Serpent" was not an accidental success, but that this album represents a new height, which the Icelanders, with many years of experience under their belts and still burning with passion, have securely reached and hold on to.
Hellenic prog black metal outfit Aenaon posts music video & new single titled "Hysteria". "Six years have passed since our last album and we are thrilled to finally share our darkest effort so far," comments Aenaon. The title derives from the Greek goddess of remembrance and the river of memory." Foreshadowed as an album of "heavily textured black metal", "Mnemosyne" will offer nine new songs, recorded, mixed and mastered by guitarist / bassist Achilleas C. (Varathron, Katavasia) at Suncord Audiolab in Ioannina, Greece. The painting that adorns the cover was created by Ben Howe while Ra.design prepared the layout. Apart from mastermind Achilleas C, the line-up comprises drummer Haris (Varathron), vocalist Astrous (Katavasia) and saxophonist Orestis Zyrinis. Clean vocals on "Synastry of Heartbeats", "Trauma Cultura" and "Mantledeath" were guest performed by Frédéric Gervais (Orakle / Cor Serpentii). The name Aenaon means "the Eternal" in Greek. The band's history dates back to 2006 and encompasses (on top of several smaller releases) three studio albums: "Cendres et Sang" (2011), "Extance" (2014) and "Hypnosophy" (2016).
