Canadian heavy power metallers Unleash The Archers reveal video for acclaimed new anthem "Legacy"13/10/2020 In August, breakout Canadian melodic metal quartet Unleash The Archers dropped one of the most highly-acclaimed albums of 2020, Abyss, sparking serious buzz in the metal and rock communities, and beyond. Deservingly, the conceptual benchmark scored banner praise from critics and fans alike, with Stereogum dubbing the opus "a ripper", and Bandcamp enforcing it as "a mandatory listen". Upon release, Abyss charted worldwide, debuting at the #1 spot on the US Current Hard Music and Top New Artist Album charts, #4 and #8 on the US and Canadian Billboard Top 200 Hard Rock charts as well as on #21 in the German album charts. Today, the band is following up on the album's successes by throwing fans a hefty bonus in the form of a new video for the post-drop fan favourite "Legacy" – one of Abyss' standout anthems. Searing in with breakneck blastbeats, cosmic guitar work and frontwoman Brittney Slayes' impeccable vocal delivery, the pop-tinged anthem single-handedly proves the band's position as one of this generation's premier heavy acts, bar none. The new video provides an introspective live-action backdrop to the track's conceptual lyrics. Frontwoman Brittney Slayes explains: "This song means a lot to us as a band, it's pretty different from everything that we've done before and really set the tone for the sonic exploration that is Abyss. When Andrew first brought the intro riff to us we immediately loved it, but we were a little hesitant as we felt our fans might not understand why we were choosing to include this style of track on the album. The hesitation was momentary though, as we all very quickly decided it was too cool not to continue writing, and luckily it seems like our fans have fallen in love with it as well. It's quite theatrical, and yet somehow very simplistic as well. " Watch the new lyric video for "Legacy" HERE Slayes adds about the video: "When it came time to choose the next song for a music video, "Legacy" was the resounding winner, but we wanted to do something a bit more than the traditional lyric video. The band all agreed that this is the kind of track that you put on when you're commuting, when you're wandering through the city just vibin', when you're on that long bus ride or sky-train ride staring out the window at the world passing by... So that's what this video is. It's you hanging out in our heads as we walk the streets of Vancouver, travelling towards something, or away from something, but always moving forward. We hope "Legacy" can be your soundtrack to those everyday moments in life, when you've finally put the phone away to really look around and enjoy the beauty of the world that surrounds you. We genuinely hope it can be a small light in this seemingly never ending darkness, even just for a moment." Unleash The Archers online:

Lutharö stepped out of their comfort zone for this recording and they anticipate a solid reception from current and new fans. Foreshadowing the EP comes a video for the single and the title track. The roller coaster of a song will bring out the worst of your anxiety and your deepest inner peace within six minutes. It is the perfect introduction to the new era of Lutharö that is darker than before, but still melodic and embodies the same amount of energy listeners have come to expect. Lutharö's lyrics all come from a personal place and they hope that fans will find a connection to the songs. As they state: “'Wings of Agony' is a song about the never-ending struggle to pursue a passion. In one moment you feel like you are soaring on cloud nine, things are going your way and you exude confidence. Then at the flip of a switch, you enter a moment of darkness where you feel lost and hopeless never knowing when the light at the end of the tunnel will return. This is the never-ending cycle we embrace because we would rather be tortured in the process of pursuing our dreams than to give up on them. We want the fans to be able to relate to the strong message on this album and find empowerment from it.” Lutharö is suggested for fans of Arch Enemy, Unleash the Archers, and Amon Amarth. Watch 'Wings of Agony' via its premiere on Metal Injection HERE. Lutharö hails from Hamilton, Canada and this group of motivated musicians is bringing a fresh take on heavy metal to listeners around the world.

The powerful low end comes from bassist Chris Pacey and keeping everything together is Duval Gabraiel on drums. The highly streamlined group works collaboratively on each track to ensure a unique and diverse final product. Over the years, Lutharö has grown into their distinctive sound, emerging with a heavy and dark formula that gets fans moving. Watch the first video from Life in the City, “My Mind is Free” at https://youtu.be/0MExuGjbD4k. From their 2015 debut EP to numerous area shows, the Montreal-based band has garnered a reputation for re-defining modern metal with a sound that is a melting pot of styles, including the occasional influences of death metal, components of hard rock, groovy riffs and catchy choruses alongside explosive guitar solos reminiscent of Eddie Van Halen, Yngwie Malmsteen and Dimebag Darrell. All this is topped off by singer Darren Beadman's striking vocal techniques and unique tone, which have been likened to Warrel Dane, Sebastian Bach and Rob Halford. Demise Of The Crown solidified their line-up in 2014 after local music veterans banded together with a vision of shaking the foundation of heavy metal. The band’s music, written by Manuel Iradian and Darren Beadman, uses standard pop music songwriting skills to hook listeners into Demise Of The Crown’s infectious metal sound. Canadian quintet As The Structure Fails turn the cornfield into a moshpit in their latest music video for their new single "The Surface." Led by dual vocalists and brothers Kyle and Carter Laird, the technical and melodic track delivers a certain level of chaos to compliment the lightheartedness of the video. "We decided to take a jump outside the standard heavy music videos we tend to see, to create something outside of the box," says vocalist Kyle Laird. "We feel like this video truly is one-of-a-kind, reflecting our own lives of living in small towns and working on farms. We hope people see the humour in it." WATCH THE MUSIC VIDEO HERE In the video, the band can be seen hardcore dancing in the hay, playing some pretty unconventional instruments, and getting squeaky clean in a makeshift tractor tub before they go on to completely dismantle the farm. Directed by The Trenches As The Structure Fails originally formed in 2009, but it wasn't until 2015 that the Ontario group solidified their line-up. The band barely got off the ground before drummer Kyle Clarke underwent multiple brain surgeries for a life-threatening diagnosis called Arteriovenous Malformation. Luckily, he made a full recovery and the group released their self-titled full-length in 2018. Topics of the album focus on damaged relationships, addiction, and the immoral habits of our culture. The band brings forward the idea that society, although corrupt, can change. They believe one person or one action everyday has the potential to bring a light into this sometimes dark world. Listen to the single "The Surface" now on Spotify. https://www.facebook.com/asthestructurefails/ With the release of their second album "Delirium" fast approaching, the Calgary-based thrash quartet Hazzerd have unveiled the record's breakneck opening track, “Sacrifice Them (In The Name Of God).” The song is now streaming on Spotify - https://open.spotify.com/album/2wfa6U31wF5pJFa05n9fAI, Bandcamp - https://hazzerdthrash.bandcamp.com/album/delirium and other digital platforms now. Says drummer Dylan Westendorp:- “'Sacrifice Them (In The Name of God)' is about extreme religious cults that take things too far to please their so-called God. This song is not about religion as a whole, but those people who take the idea of faith to the extreme – people who hunt down and kill innocent people because their God told them to. Musically, this song is one of our favourites, as it incorporates heavy, fast, melodic and intricate sections. It's sure to please the thrashers out there!” “Sacrifice Them (In The Name Of God)” is the third preview track from ‘Delirium,’ Hazzerd's M-Theory Audio debut. It follows “A Tormented Reality,” which received its world premiere on Ross The Boss' Gimme Radio program (and was subsequently hailed by Metal Injection as “rip-roaring... leaves absolutely no survivors in its wake”), and “Victim Of A Desperate Mind,” a lyric video for which can be seen at this location: www.smarturl.it/hazzerd ‘Delirium’ – which is available now for pre-order (www.smarturl.it/Hazzerd) on CD, cassette and limited-edition blue/green haze coloured vinyl – was mixed and mastered by Johnny Gasparic (Into Eternity) and features cover artwork by Andrei Bouzikov (Municipal Waste, Toxic Holocaust, Skeletonwitch). The band will celebrate the album's release with a couple record release shows where they will perform live on January 24th in Calgary at The Dickens and January 31 in Edmonton at the Starlite Room . The group's next home town show will take place alongside Flotsam and Jetsam on May 26. Hazzerd was initially formed by drummer/lead vocalist Dylan Westendorp and guitarist Brendan Malycky, two Calgary teens who were inspired by the early work of thrash legends such as Overkill, Metallica and Anthrax. The group self-released their debut EP, ‘Victimize The Innocent,’ in 2014. The following year, the band recruited then-18-year-old lead guitarist Toryin Schadlich. In 2017, soon after solidifying the group's line-up with the addition of bassist David Sprague, HAZZERD recorded their full-length debut, ‘Misleading Evil,’ which was released via Canada's World War Now Records. Featuring cover art by Bouzikov, the record was praised by Metal-Temple.com as “one of the strongest thrash releases of 2017,” while Dead Rhetoric called the album “an exhilarating aural ride” with a “Maiden/Priest-meets-early Metallica vibe.” Last year, Hazzerd caught the attention of M-Theory Audio after being featured on Gimme Radio, where Megadeth founder Dave Mustaine championed the group as a promising thrash hopeful. He also included the band on his personal list of record collection picks, where HAZZERD were one of only two up-and-coming artists listed (the other being Power Trip). In recent years, Hazzerd has performed alongside the likes of Striker, Vicious Rumors, Archspire, Spellcaster and Grim Reaper in addition to playing noted Canadian festivals such as Loud As Hell and Armstrong MetalFest. Lately, the group completed a successful string of shows north of the border with Hatchet. Fans and members of the metal media can learn more about Hazzerd's influences by watching this short video, in which the group's members discuss four albums that left a lasting mark on them and inspired them when writing ‘Delirium’: https://youtu.be/x2KM3xPsdXI For more information on Hazzerd, visit www.facebook.com/HazzerdThrash. |
