Perth groove metal act Bayview Suspect are ready to shake things up and get some heads banging again with the release of their new EP "Survival Or Ruin" due out September 14th through Rockpit Records. Produced by drummer Luke Specter and guitarist Brody Lawrence, the EP was recorded in Perth at Bayview Studios and Superfreak Studios with engineering and mixing duties handled by Daniel Thabet and Johnny Sohl. All tracks were mixed and mastered at Liquid Studios in Merrick, New York.
"Survival Or Ruin" is a brilliant and natural follow up to their debut EP "To Whom It May Concern" which was released in 2016. Where the band started with a heavy groove that takes influences from bands such as Lamb Of God and Whitechapel, this new release sees the band incorporate more melody and a hint of a more European metal sound that shows progression and a willingness to keep things fresh.
"From hook to breakdown, we’re proud of how Survival or Ruin showcases our evolution and song writing progression", says the band. "This EP is a testament to our need to experiment sonically and allows us to write tunes that’ll stay with you."
The band also recently announced a new member into the fold, Kristian Climo who takes over on guitar duties. The band comments: "Already being friends with Kristian and knowing how well he plays, we knew he would be a solid fit into Bayview."

On July 6th, Lebanese Metallers Phenomy performed at Metalhead Meeting 2018, in Bucharest, Romania! The band has issued the recap from the festival, read below:
"It was the first time we play on a big stage like this and it really took us to a next level. On the first moments it was really intimidating but after the second song when we really realised that the crowd were really enjoying our shit it became like a flow of energy passing from the crowd to us and vise versa. After the performance the reception of the fans was awesome. They really showed us that they knew what it took us to be here it was really a pay off for all the hard work. Then of course meeting people from other bands especially Alexi Laiho from Children Of Bodom, the look on his face when we told him that we were from Lebanon was priceless. Also, sharing our experiences on the road was fun and educative. We are really excited for what's to come!"

A very ambitious band passionate about writing and playing extreme music, Ottawa ON's Ominous Eclipse draws their inspiration from a wide variety of genres to create a unique hybrid sound with death metal being the main aspect combined with elements of thrash, groove, black, melodic, etc. Active since 2014, Ominous Eclipse has been making waves on the local scene opening for names such as Revocation, The Agonist, Kalmah, Archspire, Incantation, Vesperia, Beyond Creation, Rivers of Nihil to name a few. In the same year of their conception, they unleashed a four song EP “Beyond The Apocalypse” with a full length “End Of Days” following not long after in 2015. Now in 2018, they return with their sophomore album “Sinister” due out September 14th.
The band comments:
"There's no concept or theme on this album so all the songs have different meaning. The title track itself divulges into the inevitable end to humanity and potentially the world with it. It discusses the issues around the globe and also addresses the ignorance and selfishness of those indirectly affected by the chaos. It has a strong "United We Stand, Divided We Fall" theme in regards to how people can turn their backs on those in need in order to save their own skin, which ironically will lead to our end as it causes people to turn on each other. Musically for this album, you will notice we have evolved from the first release and have moved away from thrashy overtones to become more diverse including more heavily stated melodic and technical with a solid groove and death foundation."
Ominous Eclipse's first three singles, the album's title track "Sinister", "Spiral Into Insanity" and "The Horde" were assaulted upon metal fans earlier this year and can be heard at the following links:

“We are the band and we act as a team. We collaborate and negotiate to find a new sound. That particular album has fulfilled every band’s member demands. We encounter this for the first time”, - frontman Igor states.
Preserving the original playing style with groovy drums and broken beats, melodic guitars are introduced into the tracks, filling the atmosphere with the cryptic sense.
Lyrics should not be overlooked as well. The whole album is telling a story of one’s overwrought angst, inner struggle against uncertainty in front of the hopelessness, about the consciousness mending superior powers, putrefaction and lordship.
“Method To Madness” will love not only the fans of metal music, but the sincere aesthetes of sound.
For fans of: Meshuggah, Gojira, Lamb of god, Slipknot, Thy art is murder, Carnifex, Omega Diatribe, Decapitated, Heaven Shall Burn, Caliban, Chimaira, Parkway Drive.
Undusted is a Groove Metal band from Latvia, formed in 2005. Second release "Outdated Beliefs" consists of 5 tracks and sounds more likely to the customary metal music, comparing with the first release.
"Method To Madness" was mixed & mastered by a different sound engineer and it’s sounding is the band’s absolutely new step in the sound production.
"Vinnie Paul Abbott wasn’t just a drummer, he was an iconic fixture in the metal and hard rock community, a pioneer, and an absolute legend. He was a self taught drummer who went on to win many awards for his impeccable skills throughout his career.
A founding member of Pantera, DamagePlan and his current band HellYeah, Vinnie was a vital force for bands and millions of fans worldwide. Whether fans were turning their volume to 11 or headbanging their hearts out at live shows, Vinnie was an inspiration.
His most recent release, Hellyeah’s 'Undeniable' contained three hit singles, thanks to support from Sirius XM’s Octane. “All of us at Octane are so broken hearted to hear of the passing of our brother Vinnie Paul. We sent love to his family, band members and fans. You will be missed. Thinking of you reunited and rockin’ with Dime… Rest in Peace, Vinnie Paul Abbott”, Octane released in a statement.
Today, the world not only lost a legend, but also a genuine human being who lived to put a smile on the faces of everyone he met. May he be reunited with his brother as we all strive to continue his legacy.
Eleven Seven Music is heartbroken. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, bandmates, friends, and fans through this difficult time."

Toronto groove metal four-piece Vodnik will be unleashing their debut music video "Our Dread, Our Joy" in the coming weeks and before they set the world ablaze they are sharing with metal fans a little taste of what's to come in a new teaser that can be viewed at the following link: https://youtu.be/v8olzP58iks
Approaching the genre with a blend of heavier and lighter styles, which range from technical metal riffs, to spooky mellow passages, to hardcore breakdowns, Vodnik balance their metal between progressive grooves and dark atmospheres to establish a sound that is both bizarre and ominous yet catchy and memorable. With this formula, Vodnik aspires to grab the attention of a wider audience.
Drawing their name and lyrical themes from the mythological Czech creature, guitarist Jeremy Jackson explains:
“In Czech, Vodnik roughly translates to ‘of water’. I adopted the name for us because it is a widely celebrated mythological creature from my Czech heritage. Vodnik is gruesome, perfect for metal and what we want to do with it.”
Vocalist Reinier Vandenbosch adds:
“Lakes and rivers are its territory where it awaits to trap the souls of drowning victims. He is similar to the boogieman of the English-speaking world that also scares children. I try to write the lyrics largely from the perspective of the Vodnik creature.”
Along with embracing themes centred around the creature, Vodnik is also inspired by science fiction and horror, social and political commentary, dark philosophical ideas, and other mythological stories. Citing a wide variety of musical influences, Vodnik is a legit, no nonsense, heavy band that brings a ferocious energy to the stage.
The band's forthcoming debut single "Our Dread, Our Joy" is off their planned debut EP slated for later release in 2019.
