The Spanish Melodic Death Metal band In Thousand Lakes have just released their second album “Age Of Decay” through Xtreem Music.
"Age of Decay" was recorded at Chromaticity Studios (Vhäldemar, Rise To Fall...). This new album means a huge step for the band where they reflect all their influences that goes from European styled Death Metal to Heavy Metal, Thrash, Progressive...
Today, Hells Headbangers announces the signing of Spain's Krossfyre. The first fruit of this union shall be the band's six-song debut EP, Burning Torches, whose cover art and tracklisting are further below.
Krossfyre formed only last year, but set to work on writing and recording Burning Torches, completing the six-song/20-minute EP last September at Moontower Studios. Although an otherwise brand-new name, Krossfyre include among their ranks members who do or have done time in such bands as Sheidim, Spain's Graveyard, Körgull the Exterminator, Insulters, Morbid Flesh, and Suspiral.
References to be made include classic Nifelheim and Vomitor, but also early Tribulation, later Desaster, Gospel of the Horns, Bestial Mockery, and Nocturnal Graves among others. But the sheer charisma and cantankerous esprit Krossfyre exude - not to mention infectious, gloriously METAL songwriting - puts the band squarely amongst those hallowed ranks. Early days still, to be sure, but on evidence of the forthcoming Burning Torches, the name Krossfyre will soon be upon the tongues of diehards worldwide soon enough.
A statement from the band reads: "Playing blackened heavy/thrash evil music, Hells Headbangers was our very first choice for obvious reasons. It is the home of Hobbs' Angel of Death, Vomitor, and Blood Feast just to name a few of an endless list. No other label can presume to have such a strong, high profile and respected roster, especially these days where labels need to adapt to new trends or disappear. We put all our energy and effort into Burning Torches, and we're sure that Hells Headbangers will know how to push it the way it deserves!"
Excalibur, the legendary Spanish heavy metal band formed back in 1984, have just signed a deal with Fighter Records for the release of their third album, titled Humo Negro ("Black Smoke"), coming later this spring.
After a couple of demos in '84 and '87, Excalibur released their debut album in '88 under the title of Generación Maldita ("Damned Generation"), which has the honour of being the heavy metal record with the highest selling price in Spain - no more and no less than 1600 Euros! Bad luck followed this record: only 100 copies were saved from destruction, which means it's one of the most sought-after treasures of Spanish heavy metal/rock.
In 1996, Excalibur recorded their second album, Cero, which was never commercialized, remaining unreleased still today. In 2013, the band returned with a new EP, Más Duros ("Harder"). Now in 2017, Excalibur has finished what will be their third full-length album, Humo Negro, where they represent the purest and most traditional Spanish heavy metal/hard rock, and will be released, promoted, and distributed both nationally and internationally by Fighter Records, the new division of Xtreem Music devoted to traditional metal sounds.
Soon, Fighter Records will reveal more details about Humo Negro, as well as its release date. In the meantime, visit Excalibur's official Facebook page HERE, and listen to a song from that mythic debut album from '84, Generación Maldita, HERE.

Spain's In Thousand Lakes sets release date for new Xtreem Music album, reveal first video and track
Xtreem Music has set February 20th as the international release date for In Thousand Lakes' highly anticipated second album, Age of Decay. Eleven tracks recorded at Chromaticity Studios (Vhäldemar, Rise to Fall), Age of Decay is an album which reflects all the band's influences, which go from European death metal through to heavy metal, thrash metal, and progressive.
In Thousand Lakes are a melodic death metal band formed in 1995 in Bilbao, Spain. The band released the demo Emotions in 1996 and the album Lifeless Waters and Forgotten Land in 1998, and then split up later that year. The most important shows of the band were at the Barbarian Rock festival held in Jerez, Spain in 1998 with bands like Manowar or Napalm Death and an opening for Cradle of Filth in Bergara, Spain shortly after the release of the Emotions demo.
In October 2013, In Thousand Lakes was active again with the original members Jokin (guitar) and Javi (drums) completing the lineup with Jose (vocals) and J (bass). In September 2014, the band recorded the EP Martyrs of Evolution, featuring four new songs, with producer Jagoba Ormaetxea and cover artwork by Satanik Design. Martyrs of Evolution was released through Pathologically Explicit Recordings
In May 2015, J left the band and Pintxo became the new bass-player. During the summer of 2015 and after 17 shows presenting Martyrs of Evolution, the band enters the studio again for the recording of "The Scaffold," a song about the witchcraft, and records their first professional video. "The Scaffold" was included on the compilation album The Memories that Burn, where you can find the remastered reissue of the band's debut album, Lifeless Waters and Forgotten Land, and the demo Emotions.
In October 2015, Igor entered in the band as second guitarist. The Memories that Burn was released in January 2016 through Pathologically Explicit Recordings. In Thousand Lakes then began work on Age of Decay. The band recorded eleven tracks at Chromaticity Studios (Vhäldemar, Rise to Fall).
