Grond have been going from strength to strength since their inception. I thought their last album was tremendous, but this new one just blows it out of the water. Utterly immense, the music hearkens back to the time when bands indeed went the heavy route, when the riffs mattered most, not to mention the bludgeoning percussion. This is no-frills death metal but it's as solid as it can possibly get. It'll crush the living cells out of you. All of them. Reminiscent of British death metal bands among others, this bass-heavy, juggernaut of a band will cause a new apocalypse all over again. This encapsulates everything you ever liked about death metal and blows it out of proportion. With stunning continuous 3-panel artwork done by Daemorph (their bassist), it literally adds a new dimension to their music. Listen to this ponderous beast and remain agape.
