Spirit is being produced by James Ford, founding member of the band Simian Mobile Disco, whose recent production work includes albums by Florence and the Machine and Arctic Monkeys. Spirit will be released in early 2017 via Columbia Records worldwide. Speaking in Milan, Dave Gahan commented, “We’re exceptionally proud of Spirit’s sound and energy, and we’re excited to get back on tour to share it with our fans around the world.” Following the European tour dates in Summer 2017, the Global Spirit Tour will continue with shows in North and South America. The Global Spirit Tour will be the band’s 18th tour and will mark their first live performances in over three years. The band’s last tour, the Delta Machine Tour, played to over 2.5 million fans at sold-out shows across Europe and North America and was one of 2013’s largest and best selling tours. On the Global Spirit Tour the band will continue their charity partnership with Swiss watch maker Hublot, raising money and awareness for Charity: Water toward their mission of providing safe drinking water to everyone in the world. Having sold over 100 million records and played live to more than 30 million fans worldwide, Depeche Mode refuse to become complacent, with innumerable artists citing them as inspirations and critics celebrating them as “still blazing trails” and “becoming more and more significant as time passes”. Enter Shikari last night shocked fans with an unexpected “drop" of a totally brand new track. ‘Hoodwinker’ received its worldwide premier play courtesy of Daniel P Carter on BBC Radio 1’s Rock Show, and then appeared on streaming and download services immediately after. Initial recording of the track was started at the same time as January’s one-off ‘Redshift’ single, then completed during free time between summer festival performances. A video (DIY in creation, epic in vision) was shot in August, utilising family resources (Rob’s brother, Rou’s uncle. for example) and friends who didn’t mind getting wet. Watch the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1qCpoH4VO9Y On the subject of ‘Hoodwinker’, frontman Rou Reynolds had this to say: "Every now and then, outside of album releases and their attendant “campaigns”, it's nice to release a song into the wild, out-of-the-blue. To bowl it full force at the faces of the general public without prior warning. ‘Hoodwinker’ is the current incoming projectile. It is Enter Shikari angrily calling out your God as an imposter. Which I'm afraid he is. I know you thought all the others were imposters and yours was in fact the real one, but I'm afraid he is a phoney too. We have clear evidence of false paperwork and forged documents. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Please enjoy this piece of angry music though. I hope its frustration and righteous indignation will go some way to dampening the annoying news.” Enter Shikari release the sixth in their “Bootleg Series” of albums with the release of ‘Live at Alexandra Palace’ on coloured vinyl double LP and a double CD, as well as on all streaming / download services, on November 11th. More details of the release can be found here: https://goo.gl/dybdWm A video for ‘Redshift (Live at Alexandra Palace)’ was released earlier in the summer: https://youtu.be/frj7IR0sMww www.entershikari.com Lauluyhtye Rajaton julkaisee uuden albumin ”Salaisuus” 4. marraskuuta. Uutta suomenkielistä musiikkia sisältävä albumi on yhtyeen viidestoista. The exciting new single, ‘Haters’, sees her laying her gorgeously wispy vocals over brooding pianos before erupting into a soaring chorus to a backdrop of tropical-tinged synths. Stream ‘Haters’ here: https://soundcloud.com/line-mari/haters-noa3y1601020/s-eZRCn Line was born in Tromsø, also living for some time in Svalbard, one of the most Northerly inhabited places in the world. As a child, she grew up regularly witnessing the beauty of the Northern Lights, as well as once having a close encounter with a polar bear whilst at Kindergarten. A highly versatile musician, Line not only sings and writes her own music, she also plays a number of instruments including guitar, piano and harmonica (she is currently also learning to play the fiddle). She has a keen interest in vintage music and vintage guitars and owns several custom made guitars and her own custom-made pedal-board. ‘Haters’ and previous single ‘Crush’ are set to appear on Line’s upcoming album, which fans can grab hold of this November. The album was recorded at the legendary Abbey Roads studio, recorded with major producer Rob Cass and electronica producer Pearse MacIntyre. Title Track At Ghost Cult2/10/2016 Sweet Home, Go! is the stunning ninth studio album from Chinese experimental post-rock collective Wang Wen. Wang Wen's music narrates stories of their inward journey, sometimes gentle and joyful, sometimes bitter and mournful. Sweet Home, Go! was composed over the past three years and completed in early January under the supervision of producers Wouter and Lode Vlaminck. The new experience of working with external and European producers forged a fine balance between the creative yearning to explore new threads, contradictions, conflicts, and the producers' desire for clarity. The resulting tracks - including an a cappella number recorded in an abandoned factory - sees WANG WEN continuing their seventeen-year-long journey to understand themselves and the outside world through sound and texture. Sweet Home, Go! will be released via Pelagic Records in Europe on October 7th followed by a US street date of October 28th. For CD pre-orders go HERE. For 2xLP pre-orders go HERE. As a precursor to its release, Ghost Cult is currently streaming the record's brooding title track at THIS LOCATION where you can also via the band's mini album documentary. And if you missed it, sample the poignant sounds of "Red Wall And Black Wall" at THIS LOCATION. In an extensive investigation of the record, China's CityWeekend reflects, "It feels like there has been a spring tensioned on the bow of time in the past several years. The rapidly lapsing time gets people excited, but also chokes them. Decades as a counting unit are outdated. Life as we experience it is fast, and sliding out of control ... Is Sweet Home, Go! about surpassing the gulf of time? Yes, but a different kind of gulf. Music is always light and heavy, but it should never just be a quick energy fix or a mood enhancer.... what if the powerful flow of music could stop time and shoot us out of this cold abyss into the heavenly skies above, then drop us to our deaths. This is what the Dalian-based band Wang Wen says about their ninth studio album... It's grand, thoughtful, with sounds from everything in the world. Life is not immortal but sound can be. Wang Wen came up with the idea, were flexible with their creation process, and came out with a record that captures life and makes it eternal with their music." Issues the band: "Over the last few years, it feels like time has been spinning out of control. As time speeds by, it makes people feel an indescribable excitement but also a feeling of suffocation. Just as we become used to the ways of today, things change in a flash. The Internet has seemingly brought people closer together, but in fact, is has plunged us into the many deep cracks of space and time." The packaging of Sweet Home, Go! is equally alluring boasting two different inner sleeves (printed on the inside and outside) showing through the die cut hole of an outer box sleeve, printed on special fabric paper and creating a total of four different front cover impressions, depending on which sleeve and which side is up. An additional 30×30 cm art book comes with the vinyl edition. This kind of attention to detail is indicative of a band that take outstanding care not only about their music, but also about the visual and haptic aspects of their art. WANG WEN professes a holistic approach to art, focused (but not solely limited) on their extraordinary music. A fitting listen for fans of Mogwai, Radiohead, PG.Lost, Sigur Rós, Explosions In The Sky, This Will Destroy You, Cult Of Luna, and Godspeed You! Black Emperor. http://www.site.douban.com/wangwen http://www.facebook.com/wangwencn http://www.pelagic-records.com/ http://www.facebook.com/pelagicrecords |
