Scotland's Vukovi shares 'Weirdo' music video and announces UK tour / festival dates

Following their breakthrough debut album, dubbed “one of the year’s best” by Kerrang! Magazine, and a packed-out headline tour across the UK, Vukovi have revealed a thought provoking new video for their single, ‘Weirdo’, and confirmed UK headline tour dates beginning in May, and festival appearances.

“This video is about raising awareness to the victimisation and cultural impact that bullying, and more specifically cyber bullying, has on young people in today's digital age,” frontwoman Janine Shilstone explains.

"The idea came after chatting to numerous fans at our shows and learning about the hell they go through at school because they like "weird music" or dress differently. They would tell me that our music made them feel like they fit in somewhere and our shows were a place to meet like-minded people.

The girls featured in our video have all been victims of cyber bullying at an extreme level, and for them to be a part of this is not only courageous but a massive fuck you to the people that made them feel the way they did. If these girls can stand up and do it, we all can. And if this video makes any one victim not feel alone, then we've done our job.

I want people to embrace their quirks and be proud that they don't fit the mould. Embrace the weirdo in you. #weirdo4lyf”

March 2017 saw the long-awaited release of Vukovi’s debut album receive rave reviews. Heralded as “a Vuk-ing brilliant debut” and awarded 5K’s by Kerrang! Magazine, who then saw frontwoman Janine immortalised in Ray Zel’s iconic Pandora comic strip, whilst Rock Sound dubbed it “packed with more fizz and colour than a bath bomb in a vat of Irn-Bru”. ‘Vukovi’ is out now via LAB Records and available to order here - http://vukovi.tmstor.es/.

Los Angeles rockers Hey Violet reveal new single and announce tour

16/3/2017

Calling the track a “twisted love song,” lead singer Rena Lovelis says that “Break My Heart” was inspired by over-romanticizing the painful part of a break-up. “It’s about how, in a relationship, you go through these phases — the first date, the first kiss, the honeymoon — and then after you’ve experienced all the amazing parts of that love, you want to go to the dark side. You want this person to break your heart so you can feel what it’s like to long for them and to feel so desperate that you’ll do anything to get them back. So it’s kind of masochistic!”

Hey Violet will perform “Guys My Age” on US TV show, Late Night With Seth Meyers on March 21st. They are currently working on their debut album, which will be out later this year via Virgin EMI. In the meantime, the band which is Rena, her sister Nia Lovelis (drums), Miranda Miller (keys, vocals), Casey Moreta (lead guitar) and Iain Shipp (bass) are currently on a sold out US tour.  UK fan will get the chance to see the band live this spring, dates below;

UK TOUR DATES IN MAY

8TH –  LONDON, THE GARAGE
9TH – GLASGOW, O2 ABC 2
10TH – MANCHESTER, SOUND CONTROL

Hey Violet release a new single —
“Break My Heart” — LISTEN HERE.

“Break My Heart” is the follow-up to Hey Violet’s smash single “Guys My Age”, which was named one of the Best Songs of 2016 by The New York Times and one of the 20 Best Songs of 2016 by V Magazine. The video for the single also racked up over 10 million views. The band are currently featured on the March cover of Alternative Press.

Hey Violet’s current EP Brand New Moves, debuted as the #1 artist album on iTunes in the U.S. and U.K. The Los Angeles Times compared their move “from grimy punk to shiny pop” to the Go-Go’s, while Galore declares front woman Rena Lovelis, “emits an unheard of level of rock-stardom for such a small girl without even singing a single note. But when she does sing, it’s as if Courtney Love, Gwen Stefani, and Hayley Williams crashed into each other and made a whole new generation of rock star.”

Detroit Rockers Kaleido announce the release of their debut album, 'Experience'

Detroit based rock band Kaleido has announced the release of their debut full-length album, Experience. Due to release May 19th, Experience was recorded at The Pipeyard Studio in Plymouth, MI. The band also revealed the Official Music Video for the second single, "Trouble In Paradise."

"Our album "Experience" captures the duality of life that many will easily relate to - real people, real stories, real emotions. Through the good times, the bad times, the ups and the downs; it's these experiences that make us who we are." - Kaleido

Detroit claims a long line of musical trendsetters. Perhaps there's something in the water, or maybe it's the blue collar, put-up-or-shut-up mentality, but the Motor City has served as fertile ground for musical geniuses ranging from Alice Cooper and Kid Rock to Eminem and Bob Seger.

Kaleido - comprised of Christina Chriss (vocals), Joey Fava (drums), Ronnie Rosolino (rhythm guitar), Cody Morales (bass) and Zach Bolling (lead guitar) - is a fresh, modern day Detroit incarnation of rock n’ roll. Their upcoming 2017 debut full-length album Experience is straight, unadulterated, feel it in your soul rock with flourishes of pop, R&B, punk & funk undertones - and hooks for days.

At the core, Kaleido is reminiscent of the piss-and-vinegar, stadium rock of a young Guns N’ Roses crossed and fused with the lovable, fun and energetic sensibilities of an early No Doubt. Their authentic and memorable songs are highlighted by an explosive live show, both of which quickly gained them notoriety in the Detroit music scene.

Named Best Band in Detroit by Real Detroit Weekly in both 2013 & 2014, plus having won two Detroit Music Awards in 2015 for "Outstanding Rock/Pop Group" and "Outstanding Rock Recording" for their second independent EP 'Unbreakable', they have since taken the show on the road, lighting up stages on the Van's Warped Tour, Rockstar Uproar Festival, Summerfest, & CMJ Music Marathon and opened for Aerosmith, Slash, Kid Rock, The Offspring, Sammy Hagar, Evanescence, Halestorm, Ace Frehley of Kiss, Twenty One Pilots and countless others.

Estonian alternative rock trio Sibyl Vane recorded special cover version of Depeche Mode’s evergreen “Never Let Me Down Again”. The band reveals that Latvian I Love You Records will release their second self-titled album in April 2017.

Sibyl Vane’s version of “Never Let Me Down Again” was premiered in Valentine’s Day special show in Estonian National Broadcast Radio 2. As said by the band members, they dedicated this song to all Sibyl Vane fans out there.

“First of all we wanted to really make something special for our fans and thank them for being with us through the years. Valentine’s Day seemed best time to do this. We haven’t actually recorded any covers and there aren’t any in our active playlist. So this seemed like a proper challenge for us,” explained Sibyl Vane’s leader and singing guitarist Helena Randlaht.

“It was in the beginning of “Love Holy Water & TV” album presentation tour when someone bought discounted Depeche Mode best of album and it travelled with us two years. It became the main CD that we played driving through Baltics and Scandinavia. This song was definitely one of our favorite and was often played on repeat mode. Last spring one Latvian radio station H2O asked us to make a cover version of a Depeche Mode song for live session, it didn’t take long to figure out, what song to pick,”
says bassist Heiko Leesment.

Sibyl Vane comes from little Estonian coastal town called Pärnu and their international career started in 2012 when they were signed by Latvian record label I Love You Records after successful performance in region’s most prestigious Tallinn Music Week showcase festival. They debuted same year with album called “Love, Holy Water & TV” and it was presented with almost 200 shows through Baltics, Sweden, Finland, Poland, Ukraine and UK. They even came to support legendary Garbage in their one only show in Baltics.

The band revealed that the signed new contract with Latvian record label I Love You Records who are releasing their next self-titled album in April 2017. The album contains ten brand new songs and first single “Clusterf*uck” was released in September last year.
