With their debut album release on the horizon, Holy Fever have unveiled another new track from the record in the form of ‘Duress’. Vocalist Todd Cooper explains the feeling behind the track -

"The sense of urgency and aggression in “Duress” mimics the head-space we were in at the time we wrote it. We were toward the end of writing the record and simultaneously exhausted and filled with adrenaline as we started to see the finish line. Sam had this idea that the chorus would just be one note and the lyric would be one word. This is one of our favourites to play live.”
 
‘Duress’ is the opening track on Holy Fever’s first full-length record, ‘The Wreckage’, which the band will be self releasing on 8th April, 2016. Comprised of members of underground punk favourites American Nightmare, The Hope Conspiracy, and The Explosion, and with crossover members of indie-pop band Beginners, Holy Fever’s sound feels recognizable, yet totally unexpected. ‘The Wreckage’ is marked by unlikely combinations, punctuated by surprising hooks; challenging punk convention.
 
The first single to be released from the record, vigilante justice anthem, ‘Find your Fame’, feels like the rebellious love child of Bikini Kill and The Hives exemplifying the duelling vocals from Todd Cooper and Samantha Barbera (also on bass), gritty guitar riffs from Neeraj Kane and Brian Masek, and Andrew Black’s explosive drumming.
 
The artwork for the ‘The Wreckage’ was created by renowned LA-based artist Luke McGarry and the band recorded in Paul Miner’s (ex Death By Stereo) studio in Orange, CA with Holy Fever self-producing and Miner engineering.

Exeter trio Muncie Girls have been turning many a head with the first couple of tracks to be taken from forthcoming debut album ‘From Caplan To Belsize’. Now there’s a brand new single, complete with accompanying video, streaming ahead of the album’s release in a mere couple of weeks. ‘Respect’ is the band’s message to any “lad” that has been caught up in the rape culture that’s rife in our current society, particularly on university campuses and online. Vocalist and bassist Lande Hekt decided to record herself reading aloud some extracts from other writers (Stéphanie Genz and Laura Bates) that help express her feelings on the topic. These are included in the bridge of the song.
 
The much-anticipated full length will be released on 4th March, 2016 via Specialist Subject Records in the UK. Muncie Girls have also announced a trio of headline shows in March in celebration of the record. Performances in Exeter, Brighton and London will see the band tap a different supporting line-up for each date. These precede a stint on the road supporting Tellison in March / April.
 
Born in punk shows and dive bars to three driven teenagers in 2012, Muncie Girls embodies the classic punk rock story in a modern context. Fueled by discontent and anxiety, they eloquently address issues of modern living as a self-aware young adult. The result is an ambitious and poignant rebellion against social norms that touches on everything from politics to interpersonal relationships.

Hardcore punk / rap metal veterans Downset recently announced their highly-anticipated return with an upcoming performance at the revelled This Is Hardcore Festival in Philadelphia, PA on July 27th. Now, the band can announce their full plans for 2014, which include a brand new album, entitled One Blood, which will hit stores on July 21, 2014.

Produced by Downset guitarist Brian Ares Schwager and mixed by Wesley Seldman, One Blood was recorded in three locations – Venice and Overland rehearsal studio in Culver City, CA, The Basement in Baltimore, MD, and Creating Better Sounds studio in Palmdale, CA. “One Blood is Downset in its truest form, coming straight from our hearts to touch the hearts of others,” states guitarist and One Blood producer Brian Ares Schwager.   

Downset will perform several east and west coast dates this summer. See below for a current listing of tour dates with ticket prices and door times. Vocalist Ray Oropeza adds, “The east coast is where Downset will launch our live tour for the One Blood album. Downset was formed in 1992 in Los Angeles, rising up from the hardcore, hip-hop, punk rock and graffiti movements. In 1994, Downset released their first album, a self-titled release, on Mercury Records and followed up two years later with a second album on Mercury Records, entitled Do We Speak A Dead Language? Fast forward to 2000, when Downset released the Check Your People album on Epitaph Records, and a few years later released the Universal album on Hawino Records.

Downset boasts an extensive touring resume, having performed with artists spanning several genres. Downset has performed with many bands throughout the years, such as Linkin Park, Korn, Snoop Dogg, Anthrax, Pantera, Slayer, Testament, Madball, Deftones, Earth Crisis, Ozzy Osbourne, Black Sabbath, Machine Head, Coal Chamber, System of a Down, Slipknot, Hatebreed, Slayer, Sepultura and Soulfly.

This year’s One Blood will continue the epic tradition that only Downset can truly express –  hybridizing hip-hop and crushing riffs with lyrics that touch the world dramatically. The unique style of music on this release will remind listeners of Downset’s critical position in this contemporary era of art, expression and music.
