Russian Symphonic Metallers Imperial Age offer four young UK bands support on UK tour

Top Russian outfit Imperial Age are offering four young UK bands the chance to support them on their upcoming UK tour which kicks off at The Dome in London on April 16, 2020.

If your band wants an opportunity to play up to a sixty minute set at one of the shows below then get entered at the link below.

Imperial Age comment:-

“We have received a lot of requests from a lot of bands all over the world to join us at our UK concerts in April 2020. We have given it a thorough thought and this is what we have come up with this -

These days its very hard for new bands to get themselves heard. Labels don‘t sign new bands, they want them to build up a fanbase first – and even then its extremely hard. Promoters aren't really interested in them either. Usually bands have to pay an arm and a leg for everything, and the conditions aren't good.

We have experienced this ourselves and only huge support from you – our fans, allowed us to start doing music full-time without the help of a record label.

However, Destiny has been very good to us, and a few years ago we were very kindly helped by Christofer Johnsson when he allowed us to join the Therion European tour at a time when we were totally unknown in Europe. So we would like to give back as much as we can.

We want to give new bands an opportunity – so we will be setting up a competition among young UK bands.”

Check out how your band could make this happen here plus terms and conditions: http://www.imperial-age.com/support-competition/

Bloodstock reveals more Thursday acts, exclusive to weekend ticket holders

30/1/2020

Are you a Bloodstock regular? Perhaps you’re thinking of coming for the first time, or you’ve tested the waters before with a day ticket just to see what you think? Bloodstock weekend ticket holders don’t just get three days of heavy metal glory, they get four!  While day tickets can be purchased closer to the event for Friday, Saturday, and/or Sunday, Bloodstock starts the party on Thursday, exclusively for weekend ticket holders!  Get your tent pitched, grab your mates, and head over to the Planet Rock presents...Sophie Lancaster stage for a jam-packed evening of heavy metal fun.

Back in December, Bloodstock revealed that Swedish hard rockers The Night Flight Orchestra are set to headline Thursday’s opening night party. The Nuclear Blast-signed band, who feature members of Soilwork and Arch Enemy in their ranks, are promising new songs in 2020, but meanwhile, check out ‘This Time’ from current release, ‘Sometimes The World Ain’t Enough’ here.

Bloodstock is thrilled to announce that they’ll be joined on the bill by these four bands…

Firstly, the irrepressible goblin kings, NEKROGOBLIKON. Hailing from California, the group released latest album ‘Welcome To Bonkers’ in 2018, featuring the track ‘Dressed As Goblins’ - watch the video for it here. If that’s not enough goblin for you, browse the rest of their Nekrogoblitude, and if you want to dress up especially for their set, who are we to stop you?!  Be sure to get your photo snapped by our roving official photographers if you do!

Northern Irish death/doom merchants THE CRAWLING are also added to Thursday’s line-up. Citing influences such as Paradise Lost, Marduk, Katatonia, and Bolt Thrower, this stripped back, dark three piece will bring all the heavy. Get familiar via the video for ‘Still No Sun’ here, taken from their album ‘Wolves And The Hideous White’.

Derby-based grind squad RAISED BY OWLS are looking forward to adding their brand of extreme metal to Thursday’s headbangin’ shenanigans, promising a no-holds-barred aural assault with a hefty dose of sardonic humour.  You only have to check out the video for their Christmas charity single ‘The Santanist’ here (proceeds going to the Sophie Lancaster Foundation), to get a flavour of what’s in store.

Also joining the fray, are last year’s Bournemouth Metal 2 The Masses victors ANAKIM, offering up a choice blend of progressive black/death metal to get your weekend started. Check out that live set, including the single ‘Born Of The Serpents Tongue’, filmed at Bloodstock, here.  Their album, ‘Monuments To Departed Worlds’, is out now.

And that’s just the bands! There’s a host of other entertainment planned too, sure to kick off your weekend in glorious style. Don’t miss out!

Already got your weekend ticket? Started planning your travel yet? Don’t forget that BIG GREEN COACH picks up from 33 different locations across the country (with new cities added), very conveniently dropping you, your mates and all your camping gear, right inside the festival grounds. It’s good for your green credentials too!  For more info or to book your spot, head over to their site here.

For those of you interested in working at BLOODSTOCK as your means to attend, FESTAFF begin their volunteer recruitment drive from February 1. To get all the details on what that entails and to apply, go here.

BLOODSTOCK’s very popular ticket deposit scheme is now up and running, allowing you to spread your standard weekend ticket purchase over 5 instalments. You can sign up at any time until February 28th and will make your first payment of £29 + booking fees straight away. After that, payments breakdown as follows: Payment 2 - £29 (debits 27/03/20), Payment 3 - £29 (debits 27/04/20), Payment 4 - £29 (debits 26/05/20), and then your Final Payment - £29 + postage (debits 26/06/20).  Please note VIP and child tickets are not eligible for the deposit scheme. Get tickets at the ticket store.

Unsure what to expect? Watch a trailer all about BLOODSTOCK here.

BLOODSTOCK’s 2020 main stage headliners are DEVIN TOWNSEND (Friday), BEHEMOTH (Saturday), and JUDAS PRIEST (Sunday). The festival also welcomes HATEBREED, PHILIP H. ANSELMO & THE ILLEGALS, SKINDRED, PARADISE LOST, LIFE OF AGONY, BURY TOMORROW, BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, DIAMOND HEAD, JINJER, VIO-LENCE, SACRED REICH, GLORYHAMMER, DARK TRANQUILLITY, BUTCHER BABIES, CATTLE DECAPITATION, BLOODYWOOD, MEMORIAM, RAMAGE INC, GREEN LUNG, BOSSK, CONJURER, ORANGE GOBLIN, THE NIGHT FLIGHT ORCHESTRA, UNLEASH THE ARCHERS, SAXON, SYLOSIS, TOXIC HOLOCAUST, NECTOR, WINTERFYLLETH, & EXHUMED so far. May 2020 IT @TBA

Just recently Beneath My Sins signed a record deal with Pride & Joy Music for their new album “I Decide”, coming out on March 20th, 2020!! More information TBA.

Beneath My Sins is a French symphonic metal band created in December 2015 by the guitarist Clement Botz and the singer Emma Elvaston. Former members of Evolvent, they have together taken their first steps in the metal scene and in the musical composition. In March 2017, Beneath My Sins released their first album “Valkyries of Modern Times”, promoted during shows in Belgium with Skeptical Minds and during two European tours shared with the Russian thrash metal band, Pokerface. Quickly perceived as the emerging symphonic metal band of the French scene, Beneath My Sins had the opportunity to tour with the famous Canadian band Kobra And the Lotus during their stay in France in June 2018 and Imperial Age in 2019.

In September 2018, the band got in contact with Fabio D’Amore, bassist from Serenity. After a few meetings and discussions they all agreed that he would provides his services as a producer to the band. Thanks to this collaboration, the band was able to record under professional conditions and to work with famous names of the music business. Many talented guests such as Matteo Sisti from Eluveitie, Melissa Bonny from Ad Infinitum, Michele Guaitoli from Temperance and Visions of Atlantis and Fabio Lethien Polo from Elvenking also joined the ship for one or more songs. While awaiting the release of the album, the band has worked on an acoustic set warmly welcomed in France.

If you tuned into Planet Rock Radio this morning, you’ll have been amongst the first to hear Bloodstock’s hotly anticipated news, revealing the final two Ronnie James Dio main stage headliners for 2020’s event. Devin Townsend was announced as Friday night’s headliner last month. Without further ado…

Metal legends Judas Priest will headline Sunday night. In a year when Bloodstock celebrates 20 years, we can think of no better place to also celebrate Judas Priest’s 50 Heavy Metal Years! The Grammy Award-winning British icons were recently nominated again for the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame and to date have sold over 50 million albums. Their latest release, 2018’s ‘Firepower’, saw the band return all guns blazing, earning the accolade Best British Album at the Planet Rock Awards. Judas Priest enthuse:-

“Horns up Bloodstock - the Priest is back to headline the 20th year of Bloodstock with our 50 Heavy Metal Years anniversary show!! A double barrel, once in a lifetime, blast of metal mania 2020....!!”

You can watch a special message from the inimitable Rob Halford at: https://youtu.be/2VJIsrJf_Mc.

The mighty Behemoth are set to headline Saturday in a UK festival exclusive for 2020. Having wowed fans across the globe with their phenomenal set on both Slayer’s final US tour and Slipknot’s current Knotfest Roadshow, the Polish metal heavyweights will be upping the stakes by bringing their biggest and best production to date. Don’t miss the spectacle of them closing out the Ronnie James Dio main stage on Saturday night!

Charismatic frontman Nergal tells us:-

“Bloodstock! The hallowed lands of Catton Park will once again host our Fiendish Festivities. This is Behemoth’s first UK festival headline and that will be celebrated in the only way we know how; Hell will be raised, blood will be shed, and magick will descend! We shall see you there Legions!”

Hear it straight from Behemoth themselves at: https://youtu.be/oe_1eQyZpXY.

Portuguese dark metal pioneers, Moonspell, will embark on an extensive European Tour with Rotting Christ this Fall. Starting on October 24th in Hamburg, Germany, this finest metal package will travel two months literally all over Europe, including dates in the UK, Spain, Turkey, Scandinavia and many more!

Just recently, Moonspell proudly announced to re-release their path-breaking Sin/Pecado and  2econd Skin records on December 13rd 2019 with Napalm Records. Especially Sin/Pecado, originally released back in 1998, became a great divider of the Moonspell wolfpack, showcasing the band's diverse talent, skills and signs of a rebellion in within vampire and wolves themes. A diversity the band will be also representing live on stage, when they will not only perform songs of their latest, Portuguese album 1755, but also timeless classics of their entire band history – from records such as Sin/Pecado, the unforgettable Irreligious, Wolfheart, Night Eternal or the critically acclaimed Extinct – no matter what's your favourite Moonspell era, on this run you will definitely come at your expense!

Picture

States Moonspell vocalist, Fernando Ribeiro:-

“The question in the air for Moonspell and Rotting Christ is: how will you guys pull this one out? We concede that we have embraced a quite epic trek of more than fifty cities to take in just one breath from the 24th of October all the way to December 15th. There’s only one way to answer your question: to grab a ticket and show up in one of our shows. The tickets are running low in some dates, some are sold out, and yes besides 1755 we will represent the classics and a couple of Sin/Pecado songs live to celebrate its reissue via Napalm Records in December. Europa under the spell!!!“

Finland's Gothic Metallers The 69 Eyes recently announced that they will release their 12th studio album on September 13th. Right in time for their 30th band anniversary, 'West End' will see the light of day, so prepare for 11 up-tempo rock anthems full of heaviness, black memento mori moments and dark humour featuring several top-notch guest vocalists including Cradle Of Filth's Dani Filth, Wednesday 13 and Beastö Blancö's Calico Cooper.

Today, the band have revealed the first trailer for their upcoming album, in which they discuss the ”funeral balloons” sculpture on the cover of the album. The artwork was created by the famous Finnish sculptor Jiri Geller, a friend of the band since the very early days.

"It was like black magick to have Jiri back in our Helsinki Vampire circles again! I literally haven’t seen him for twenty years but he was the same freak as back then - and as we all are,” - singer Jyrki 69 praises the long-lost lost boy.
