It comes to saddening news to announce that Colchester's long standing Metalcore / Deathcore bad boys Thames Burial are playing their final ever show on Friday 15th February 2013 at The Rep in Ipswich, Suffolk.
Forged from the remnants of Echoes Fall, Thames Burial mustered their old sound and sifted out the goodness from the rotten times to develop a sound that would epitomize the Essex Metal scene into complete overdrive. Armed with their demo 'From The Depths' the four ex-Echoes Fall members Gavin Chinnery, Seb Cowie, Dex Jezierski and Stu Bridges went through a torrid time sifting out bassists and as their latest member Kris Dunnett making a departure, last Saturday at the Hole in the Wall in Colchester, their trusted ex-bassist Kristian Sawkins stood in and gave a well-deserved send off for these lads.
The band have released their debut album for free and can be downloaded here:
Merchandise is also discounted and can be bought directly from the band, so to take a piece of Essex Metal history from lads who graced Bloodstock when with Echoes Fall is highly essential.
Stoz of Merciless Fail had this to say:
"It's a shame when any good local band decides to call it a day for whatever reasons, unfortunately we have seen quite a few go recently. Hopefully they carry on with their individual musical paths and hope to hear what is born".
Colin Parks of fellow friends and band The Conflict Within stated:
"I know Thames Burial very well as they are one of my favorite bands in the region, gone. A real loss to the scene!"
Commenting also is loyal fan and friend Andrew Cheek:
"I think it's a shame. They're nice guys who are always up for a laugh, I've been following them from the start. I don't think I would have the confidence I have today if it wasn't for them. At their low points or their high they always put on a good show and made you feel welcome. Even if there were 50 people or 5 they would still get the crowd going, it's a shame it's ending but hopefully in time we will see them faces again".
