Today, death metal tyrants Ritualization premiere the new track "Beneath the Sepulchre" at Legacy magazine's website. The track hails from the band's highly anticipated debut album, Sacraments to the Sons of the Abyss, set for international release on February 3rd via Iron Bonehead Productions. Hailing from the now-fertile French death metal underground, Ritualization have been patiently fine-tuning their fiery craft for a decade now. Although diehards are familiar with the band's name, Ritualization strike upon the international scene with Sacraments to the Sons of the Abyss, a 10-track/44-minute firestorm of malicious and iron-fisted death metal. Hear Ritualization's "Beneath the Sepulchre" exclusively HERE. Ritualization are the gathering of four individuals who share the same ideas about the way death metal must be played. Manning the six six six wires of hatred, Infamist’s initial purpose was to bring another musical incarnation to the light of darkness. He began to jam with Blastum (warhammers) in late 2005 to early 2006 until Warchangel joined the fold in September 2006 to take care of vokill duties, soon followed by Krig (pulse of the dead + ghouls vomit). Four tracks were recorded in April 2007 in their ritual chamber; this rehearsal tape was meant to spread the name of the band. In March 2008, Ritualization performed their very first ritual in Colmar, France with fellow death metal maniacs Bloody Sign and Necros. Then the band recorded The Abduction Mass that spring. This tape contained four tracks of brutal and obscure death metal, plus a cover of the mighty Finnish gods Archgoat's "Black Messiah." This demo was unleashed through Blood Harvest's brother label Zombie Ritual Tapes, and it remains sold out to this day. In 2009, Ritualization focused on gigs and played in Lille (with Terminal War and Disgust), in Lyon (with Proclamation, Blasphemophagher, Vortex of End, and Deadly Sins), and finally Paris (with Vorkreist, Purge, and old comrades Bloody Sign). Meanwhile, the band still worked on new material in order to hit the studio the following year to record material for their upcoming releases. An alliance was sealed with French black/death cult Temple of Baal to create a split album through Agonia Records. Titled The Vision of Fading Mankind and released in late November 2011, this critically acclaimed split introduced Ritualization to their widest audience yet. Meanwhile, during summer 2011, Set enters the band as second guitarist to increase the audial impact and live aggression, performing his first live rituals at the Surrender to Death gig in Clermont Ferrand and the Ritual for the Dead in Berlin. Then, in 2013, a 7" EP entitled Beyond the Shrine of Shattered Bones is released through Blood Harvest Records. Now, with Sacraments to the Sons of the Abyss, Ritualization bring forth an unadulterated vision of death metal and a tribute to bestial legions such as Angelcorpse, Incantation, Archgoat, Immolation, Centurian/Nox, Ravager/Hacavitz, Naked Whipper, and many more minions of audial darkness. Channeling obscure death metal onstage and unleashing releases forged in the faithful tradition of what death metal must be - that is Ritualization's purpose. The first sacrament can be heard HERE at Iron Bonehead's Soundcloud, with the track "Morbid Magick Stigmata."

Atmospheric black metallers Fen have announced details of their fifth full-length album, set to see release via Aural Music imprint Code666 on March 10th. Titled Winter, the six-track production was captured by Jaime Gomez Arellano at the Orgone Studios in London (Ulver, Altar Of Plagues, Grave Miasma, Primordial, Solstafir) and stands among the band's most enticing piece of work yet for the English three-piece; rich in sound, beguilingly delicate, and shrouded in darkness. Winter's six movements are thematically and compositionally linked flowing into each other seamlessly. Ideally, the whole record is intended to be listened to in one sitting to allow the full journey to be absorbed. Musically, the band have sought to push themselves further than ever before and Fen's trademark use of atmospheric black metal and spacious clean segments have been complimented by shades of '70s progressive rock, shoegaze, and doom metal. Winter, which comes sheathed in the cover art of Fen bassist / vocalist Grungyn, will be available in standard CD, double black vinyl limited to 300 copies, and digital formats in North America on March 10th followed by a European street date of March 17th. Additionally, Fen's Winter will be available in a Special Collectors Box limited to 199 copies which will include the standard CD, an additional bonus CD, the DLP with Side A / Side B in a smashed splatter effect of transparent aquamarine and opaque cream, an exclusive T-shirt and poster, and a certificate of authenticity signed by the band. Formed in early 2006 with the goal of producing atmospheric black metal that incorporates elements of post-rock, Fen has, since then, found themselves at the vanguard of a resurgent UK black metal scene. With an EP, four full length albums, several splits, and compilations, two European tours and numerous appearances at prestigious festivals under their belts, Winter serves as the band's most ambitious, and yet most fundamental expression, yet. It is an album in which, conceptually, Fen has returned to the roots of their ideology, seeking to embrace and distil all that inspired them when they first set out on this path over a decade ago - that is, to invoke the ambience of bleak reflection and ancient sorrow that permeates the mysterious landscapes of the fens of Eastern England. Frontman The Watcher elaborates, "With Winter, we wanted to 'return to the roots' of the band so to speak but not in the clichéd, nostalgic way many bands do. Instead, we wanted this record to represent the 'essence' of Fen in terms of tone, atmosphere, and above all, concept. This album therefore very much describes a journey towards sanctity and redemption across a landscape steeped in mystery, hints of forgotten darkness, and sorrows long since drowned in the distant past. It represents the culmination of over eighteen months of writing and rehearsing, pushing ourselves harder and harder as musicians - it is a lengthy and self-indulgent record for which we make no apology. Indeed, it is a fitting tribute to mark ten years of the existence of Fen." http://www.facebook.com/fenofficial http://www.fenuk.bandcamp.com http://www.fenmerchandise.bigcartel.com http://www.auralmusic.com http://www.code666.net Cellar Darling are storytellers. They want to carry you away into their world of music, awaking the spirit of the stories our parents told us before going to sleep, the dramas of love, war and poverty in the hour-long acts of an opera - the adventures of the human spirit with all its mysteries and emotions. After their split with Eluveitie, Anna Murphy, Ivo Henzi and Merlin Sutter reached out for new shores in 2016 and are now ready to let you see the world through their eyes with their unique and fresh sound, combining grand and heavy riffs, energetic drumming and a unique voice with the signature folky, earthy tones of the hurdy gurdy and classical elements - creating something entirely new, while continuing the spirit of musical innovation they have become known for. So prepare for a journey into the mystical unknown, as Cellar Darling are happy to announce that they have signed with Nuclear Blast records. Anna, Ivo and Merlin comment: “We are extremely happy to be 'back home' after so many years as part of the Nuclear Blast family. They have shown continuing faith in us through difficult times, and we knew they needed to be among the first to hear our new music - and as it should be, everything else quickly fell into place. We are proud and excited to have found partners who understand our music and share our vision; together, we’ll make this year our year!” Cellar Darling are currently working on their debut album, to be released in 2017. The LP will act as the follow-up to their critically acclaimed 2014 recording ‘Conjuring The Dead’. Expect a release date of September through Nuclear Blast Entertainment, followed by an intense touring cycle worldwide. Frontman / founder guitarist Helmuth Lehner has given an update on Belphegor´s current run in the studio: "The drums and bass guitar have been executed masterfully by Serpenth (Bass, screams) and German maniac drummer Bloodhammer. A new chapter, a new challenge." Serpenth added: “We've once again created an LP with two different tunings in the manner in which we did ‘Pestapokalypse VI’ (Oct. 2006). We’ve added a lot of new elements and structures to our trademark sound and tuned the guitars down to achieve even more brutal and obscure effects. These are the most furiously heavy, fierce and superior nine sound collages we have ever written and recorded." And today, heavily trafficked web-portal InvisibleOranges.com streams the mini-album in its entirety exclusively HERE. While they still may bear some of the same immersive traits as their established countrymen, Endalok here present a bold assertion of their own, unique identity. Across its 24-minute runtime, the five tracks that comprise Úr Draumheimi Viðurstyggðar explode with a weirder, wilder, and more winding distillation of everything that made Englaryk so immediately engrossing - and entrancing. Within its soundworld, Endalok dwell within a ritualistic sort of womb that hauntingly gestates, pulsing with a distant-yet-overwhelming cadence that subtly shape-shifts. It's a similarly shadowy dance as Englaryk - that sense of slow-motion vertigo, as different beyond-the-shade textures come into focus, only to wither away again - but given grim, hideous purpose as the band's confidence in their vision grows. Still young, Endalok are weaving sorcery like masters on Úr Draumheimi Viðurstyggðar. As a bonus on the vinyl edition, the B-side will feature the entire Englaryk demo. In the meantime, stream all of Úr Draumheimi Viðurstyggðar exclusively HERE, courtesy of InvisibleOranges.com.
