Spanish Power Metallers Norwald release "Khelmet and Hakko" as a free download via PureGrainAudio

Explore the rich lore that has been created through these stories and feel the magic of this imaginative new world, with its own characters, gods and creatures. Norwald brings you magical lands and magnificent warriors; mythical creatures, life, and death, in the form of power metal songs.
To acquaint the world of Norwald, they have teamed up with PureGrainAudio.com for the exclusive free download of their track "Khelmet and Hakko" that will be showcased on their upcoming concept album due out later in 2019.

Check out the song at https://puregrainaudio.com/audio/norwald-khelmet-and-hakko-free-song-download

In addition, Norwald's first two singles, 'Creatures' and ‘Arden’ can also be heard below.

‘Creatures’ regales listeners with the tale of Prince Thostar who is on a quest for the throne. It’s a fast and simple song to introduce both the band and world of Norwald. ‘Arden’ is a bonus tale, not directly related to the rest of the story told. It is fun and dancey, but with a cold vibe. With influences such as Nightwish, Rhapsody, and Epica, Norwald is just as enchanting as the tale it tells. As to what their debut album brings, composer Grief explains her purpose:

“The album is, as a whole, an epic tale that goes through a lot of phases, to finish in an epic song that Norwald people would sing in their taverns. To end the whole thing and to make people want to listen to more of our stories, we play Arden, which is a short tale not related to the tale told in the rest of the album.”

‘Creatures’ is available on YouTube.
‘Arden’ is also available on Youtube.

Norwald is both the band name and a vast fantasy world that was imagined in the mind of Patri Grief many years ago and has now been brought to fruition to indulge listeners everywhere. Grief’s fascination for storytelling and music began at a young age: she dreamed up a world where her imagination could take flight and ultimately bring her stories to life through music.

With immense imagination, Norwald plunges the listener into a brand new fantasy world. Incorporating made up words and characters set in a medieval era, Norwald is putting a whole new spin on epic power metal. Well written songs, each as a metaphor with its own personality, Norwald is charging in to the spotlight with poetic symphonic magic.

Over the years, members came and left the band and it wasn’t until 2017 when there was enough suitable talent for the band to take off. The lineup now consists of Ann Meseguer (vocals); Patri Grief (composer/lead guitar); Alejandro Leonidas (rhythm guitar); Jeffrey García (bass) and Frehul Martínez (keys).

Indonesian Death squad Osmed release their debut album 'Territory Of Warfare' through Brute! Productions

18/1/2019

Picture

Followers of the Indonesian brutal death metal scene have been waiting impatiently for the debut full length album from Jakarta’s Osmed. Their first EP, Ultimate Realms Of Ruination, hit like a nuclear warhead when it landed in 2015 – blasting its way straight into No Clean Singing’s top 15 EP releases of the year. The band teased fans with a two track promo CD in 2017 that hinted at even more unbridled savagery to come and now, at long last, the wait is finally over...Territory Of Warfare has arrived!

Released in the dying days of 2018, but only now receiving a full promotional push,Territory Of Warfare is a rabid, unforgiving creation. A hymn to the ferocity of battle, a soundtrack to the lawless fight for survival on the field of conflict, this album drags you into the raging chaos and leaves you standing knee deep in blood. With your comrades’ broken bodies at your feet and your enemies advancing, steel in hand, this is your final stand, your fight ‘til death. The sheer bludgeoning force of massive sonic assaults like ‘Bloodshed’ and ‘Sanctity Of The Norm’ is staggering and the crushing, grinding weight of ‘Warfare The Punishment’ will leave you gasping for breath.

Picture

The Indonesian scene is notorious for its barbarity and brutality, but Osmed are setting new standards amongst their peers. With Territory Of Warfare they have armed that skull fracturing, full frontal assault with a truly individual arsenal of riffs; wrapped each song in a bloodstained shroud of desperate, suffocating, panic –infected atmosphere and delivered their payload with fearsome focus and cohesion.

Available now from Brute! Productions, Osmed’s Territory Of Warfare is an essential addition to the armoury of any death metal fan, dedicated to the discovery of the ultimate expressions of total annihilation.

When recently announcing their fifth studio album No More Hollywood Endings, which will be unleashed on March 22nd via Nuclear Blast, Finnish heavy metallers Battle Beast promised fans a taster of their new offering at the beginning of 2019 - and the group has kept true to their word! Packed with extravagant melodies, the official music video for the new album's title track provides the perfect visuals for the song's meaningful message. Directed by Markus Nieminen and produced by Oy Routafilmi AB / Tuotantoyhtiö Legenda, the official video for 'No More Hollywood Endings' can be viewed over on YouTube here: youtu.be/SZzhUPe-Bck

Keyboardist Janne Björkroth comments on the track:-

"The song tells a story about living up to other people's expectations and becoming a kind of a sidekick in one's own life. Hollywood conventions and media set unrealistic expectations and narrow ideals about such things as beauty and happiness, and it's easy to get lost while trying to fit the mould. The song claims that there isn't a universal pattern for happiness, but everyone has a right to be respected as they are and live a life that suits for themselves. It's a hymn to individuality."

New Zealand's Seas Of Conflict release new track 'Monachopsis'

17/1/2019

Picture

New Zealand metal band Seas of Conflict have been sitting on this banger of a track for 2 years and now 'Monachopsis' is available to the world!

The single was produced & Mixed by Zorran Mendonsa Productions (Antagonist AD, Set On End, and Skyharbor) at his home studio in Auckland, NZ and mastered by Ermin Hamidovic (Architects, Intervals, and Periphery) of Systematic Productions. After working on the single, towards the release of their EP Vestige, the single became a lyrically collaborative effort from both current and past members of the band.

Kody Naidoo, lead singer for the band, says Seas of Conflict single 'Monachopsis' sees them pushing themselves both musically and lyrically into a new realm:-

"The title and meaning of the song is inspired by John Koenig’s ‘Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows’" and misunderstanding the construct of what might be the norm, and being discouraged from breaking away to try and create your own path. The line "Surrounded, but always alone" is a hint of the band’s growth, aiming for a more relatable theme and delivery on this single as they continue to work towards a thematic full-length album."

Check it out here:- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dcej3AqFxAw

The guys in Seas of Conflict are no strangers to touring. They have supported bands like Antagonist A.D, Make Them Suffer, Counterparts (CAN), Stray From The Path (USA), and  Thy Art is Murder but also have an upcoming NZ tour supporting NZ Heavyweights Alien Weaponry. So whilst many of the shows are local, I have no doubt we will be seeing them on the international circuit very soon!

Seas of Conflict single 'Monachopsis' sees them pushing themselves both musically and lyrically into a new realm. The new single will be in digital stores and streaming outlets from Friday January 18.

False advertising from preachers and prophets lighten up the grim thoughts of death with nice ideas of the afterlife, which some people choose to believe it, even though we were not promised anything after death." - Align The Tide

Known for their prolific nature - dropping their first five full-lengths in the space of just seven years - the six-year gap between Valkyrja (2013) and Hel is by far the longest between any two of their records. During that period the band toured hard, taking the album around the world, including a support run with Children Of Bodom in North America and an appearance on the 70,000 Tons Of Metal cruise. However, other factors played into this extended break between releases.

"We approached this one differently because I learned that if I continue doing albums in the way we had up to now, I would die from a heart attack before I'm 50! That's one of the reasons we changed our method and took such a long time on this one." says guitarist/vocalist Heri Joensen.

That this tactic - which also includes more songwriting contributions from bassist/vocalist Gunnar Thomsen and guitarist Terji Skibenæs than on previous releases - has been beneficial is borne out in the finished product, which is perhaps more immersive than those that came before.

"Musically it leans a bit towards our album, 'Ragnarok' (2005). It's a bit more epic and also much better worked through than any of our previous albums." It also marks the recording debut of drummer Tadeusz Rieckmann, who has manned the drum throne for Tyr's live shows since 2016." states Gunnar Thomsen

Australian Brutal Death crew Revulsed sign to Everlasting Spew Records

13/1/2019

Picture

Everlasting Spew Records is honored to welcome Melbourne based Brutal Death Metal band  Revulsed into the roster!

Expect a new album from the aussies released by the end of the year as the guys are currently in the writing/production process to shape their most brutal, monstrous and tighter recording ever.

"We are working hard on new material for the followup album to Infernal Atrocity. We feel the music we have so far is a lot more savage than the previous outing. We guarantee the new songs will stay with you, as we love writing memorable music filled with hooky riffs, never compromising on brutality. The slaughter is coming. Also, we are super proud to be working with Everlasting Spew Records on this new release!" (Jayson Sherlock)

Combined to this, together with the band, we wanted to offer the fans the highly requested vinyl edition for their critically acclaimed debut "Infernal Atrocity" released back in 2015. Graced by an astonishing cover art by Pär Olofsson and featuring Konstantin Lühring (Despondency/ex Defeated Sanity) on vocals, "Infernal Atrocity" will be released this spring in a mouth watering gatefold sleeve and a limited colored version.

Pre-orders will be open soon! Stay tuned!

English Thrashers Forged In Black sign to Fighter Records; first song, cover & tracklist revealed

12/1/2019

Picture

UK Heavy Metal act Forged In Black, have just inked a deal with Fighter Records for the worldwide release of their upcoming 2nd album "Descent of the Serpent", scheduled for 5th of March 2019.

Forged In Black was born in 2013 after changing their moniker from Merciless Fail (2007-2013). Their debut album "Forged in Black" was released that same year, being followed by three EP's: "The Tide" (2013), "Fear Reflecting Fear" (2016) and " Sinner Sanctorum" (2017). These releases got a great acceptation within the british Heavy Metal scene and paved the way for their 2nd full length album "Descent of the Serpent", recorded in 2018, again with producer Romesh Dodangoda, with cover art made by Dan Goldsworthy (ALESTORM, HELL, ACCEPT, etc.).

The style of Forged In Black is a fresh, melodic and powerful Heavy Metal where you can find classic elements from british bands like Iron Maiden, Judas Priest or Angel Witch, with a slight dose of CANDLEMASS and hints of Thrash in the vein of bands like FLOTSAM & JETSAM, HEATHEN, METAL CHURCH... You gotta listen by yourself!!

This is what Forged In Black said about their signing to Fighter Records:

“We are absolutely thrilled at the prospect of working with Fighter Records. To be added to their already stellar roster is overwhelming and we cannot wait to see what this partnership brings. This album is the culmination of 10 years of hard work and we are certain that this release has something to love for all Metal fans. We are currently working on a host of shows to support the release and can't wait to display our most ambitious live performance to date. See you down the front!”.
