Season of Mist are pleased to announce the signing of South African post metal band Constellatia. The band's debut album 'The Language of Limbs' will be re-released on physical formats later on in 2020. The album can already be heard on all digital streaming platforms HERE. Regarding the signing, the band comments:- "We are extremely thrilled and proud to sign with Season of Mist. As big fans of the label, we are humbled and privileged to be in the company of so many great artists who we respect and admire. Thank you to Michael and the team for believing in us, and we look forward to sharing many records with you. Thank you for the support." Constellatia have previously released a lyric video for the song "All Nights Belong To You", which can be found by clicking here. Hailing from Cape Town, South Africa, Constellatia is the collaborative vision of Gideon Lamprecht and Keenan Oakes, founders of well-known acts Crow Black Sky and Wildernessking respectively. 'The Language of Limbs' is essentially a post-metal record with black metal and progressive influences, and a healthy dose of ambience and atmosphere; always deeply engaging with a flair for the romantic and nostalgic. "It is a record that came from a place of desperation; a musical outlet for the years of hardship both members endured in their personal lives." Gideon Lamprecht comments. "It's an album about obsession and overcoming. It's a triumphant record." adds Keenan Oakes. Formed in September 2018, and enlisting the talents of a few key collaborators, Constellatia soon completed work on the beautiful and emotional ride that is 'The Language of Limbs'. While the drums (Played by Lawrence Jaeger) and vocals were engineered by Daniel Thackwray at City Varsity, Cape Town, all other instruments were recorded by Lamprecht at his home studio in Glencairn, where he also mixed and mastered 'The Language of Limbs'. The album features additional and high class guest vocalists, namely Alison Rachel of Honeymoan and renowned singer/songwriter Lucy Kruger, and is an absolute must-have for fans of CULT OF LUNA, OPETH, PINK FLOYD or WOLVES IN THE THRONE ROOM. Album will be limited to 300 copies - silkscreen hand-printed CD!In the words of Robert Camassa (Radio producer, Cybc): "Dark Poetry have been gravitating for the past years somewhere between the Lost and Found searching for identity, honing their craft. I'd say closer to the Lost, with botched attempts at recording and the learning curve of life's ups and downs. Their new release "SPECIMEN" unleashes feral soundscapes that suggest they have not just arrived but they mean to conquer. And you don't need to look for them at the Lost anymore. They have been Found. This ain't metal, baby... it is resounding supersonic bestial blues!" Recording, engineering and mixing by Andreas Matheou Mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege Dark Poetry emerged from the underground of Cyprus in 2002 and since its inception, the band was dedicated in composing original music influenced by all aspects of being, through the essence of Middle Eastern sounds. Through various experimentations and a line-up change, they set on the core members in 2010, being a 4-piece entity. The band’s first release came in 2018 with their self-titled EP, containing the tracks ‘ghost’ and ‘absence’, setting the motion for their debut album. Dark Poetry’s first full-length album ‘SPECIMEN’ is coming out on the 1st of February 2020 through Deathhammer Records and Undersound. https://www.facebook.com/DeathhammerRecords/ https://www.facebook.com/darkpoetryband/ Sarcasm sign with Hammerheart Records and a new album is in the plans for the end of 2020 of early 2021! Åland Islands metallers LAMORI are proud to announce that "Neo Noir" will be out on 31/01/2020 via Wormholedeath / Aural. Band statement:- "Neo Noir - The New Black. Finnish goth-masters LAMORI are back. The reservoirs of darkness brings you their take on classic gothic metal mixed with dark wave, modern rock and everything in between. Bigger choruses, stronger melodies and bittersweet darkness all wrapped in a doomy package. The band worked close with both Mazzeo and Belotti all the way from pre-production to the final release. This time around we also put more time and effort on each instrument, especially the vocals. We think this album is a beautiful mix of both old and new LAMORI." From Reservoirs of Darkness and Neon Lit Nightmares rises Finnish five-piece LAMORI. Their sound is defined by uniting Gothic Metal with Dark Wave, Modern Rock and everything in between. Lyrics inspired by cult horror movie maestros and old romanticism furthermore finalize their macabre elegance. The band roots back to 2006. Singer Matias Juselius and guitarist Marcus Pellas had ideas about starting a gothic rock band in their home town of Mariehamn, on The Åland Islands. Jens Wickholm soon joined the duo, followed by Mikael Westerlund on bass. An acoustic live performance was held under the name L'Amori Acoustica. After a fruitless search for a drummer the band was put on ice for nearly two years. The group got together and started rehearsing again in late 2008, still searching for a drummer. Emanuel Sanchez stepped in and joined the group in early 2009. The band was now officially formed. Together they did their first live performance some months later. The constellation has remained the same until this day. Under the name L’Amori (later to be changed to LAMORI), the band recorded their first four track Demo EP in 2011, titled The Reservoirs of Darkness. Their first full-length album Deadly Desires was self-released some years later in 2013. A year after the release of Deadly Desires the band penned a record deal with Italian label Wormholedeath. Their first major album To Die Once Again was released through the label in 2016. It was at this time the band changed the name from L'Amori to the more straightforward LAMORI. The following years the band toured in Finland, Sweden, Latvia and Lithuania and also started working on a new album. The recordings of Neo Noir began in the summer 2018 at Mathlab Studios in Italy, with producers Carlo Belotti and Jonathan Mazzeo. Of the three singles released prior to the album, An Angel by Your Side reached the most praise, hitting 380.000 views on YouTube in only one month. https://www.facebook.com/lamorimusic Canadian hill-billies As The Structure Fails unveil Metalcore music video for "The Surface"18/1/2020 You've probably heard of metalcore, but how about Cob-Core? Canadian quintet As The Structure Fails turn the cornfield into a moshpit in their latest music video for their new single "The Surface." Led by dual vocalists and brothers Kyle and Carter Laird, the technical and melodic track delivers a certain level of chaos to compliment the lightheartedness of the video. "We decided to take a jump outside the standard heavy music videos we tend to see, to create something outside of the box," says vocalist Kyle Laird. "We feel like this video truly is one-of-a-kind, reflecting our own lives of living in small towns and working on farms. We hope people see the humour in it." WATCH THE MUSIC VIDEO HERE In the video, the band can be seen hardcore dancing in the hay, playing some pretty unconventional instruments, and getting squeaky clean in a makeshift tractor tub before they go on to completely dismantle the farm. Directed by The Trenches As The Structure Fails originally formed in 2009, but it wasn't until 2015 that the Ontario group solidified their line-up. The band barely got off the ground before drummer Kyle Clarke underwent multiple brain surgeries for a life-threatening diagnosis called Arteriovenous Malformation. Luckily, he made a full recovery and the group released their self-titled full-length in 2018. Topics of the album focus on damaged relationships, addiction, and the immoral habits of our culture. The band brings forward the idea that society, although corrupt, can change. They believe one person or one action everyday has the potential to bring a light into this sometimes dark world. Only a few days ahead of its official release, the band has just premiered another brutal-sounding appetizer with a brand new video! The Danish collective, founded in 2015, stoically trudges through the blackest mires – following in the footsteps of Mythic, Paradise Lost, Skepticism and Winter, who all unleashed the bleakest horror on mankind in the early 90s. Rikke Emilie List`s guttural vocals and tenacious riffing combined with menacingly heavy production make the debut by these four Danish women a massive, extreme metal highlight of early 2020 – and it would not come as a surprise if their upcoming album, Puritan Masochism, conjures up a deserved revival for the whole death doom genre! Following the premiere of the band's latest music video to the album title track (watch HERE: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NdR24AURUwU), today we witness a final single before the album drops later this month. Better get doomed and fix your eyes on Konvent's brand new video for the blistering track 'Ropes pt. II' : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wBkwHWoKQKA The band comments:- “Ropes pt. II was the last song we wrote for the album. Our deadline was getting closer and we isolated ourselves in our rehearsal space during the weekend before going into the studio. We spent hours jamming to the main riff while the Danish Summer sun was baking outside, and in the end we managed to complete the song. It was actually inspired by our other song Ropes pt. I which, at that time, didn't have a title. Ropes pt. I is about knowing someone who is going through a bad time and the powerlessness that comes with it. We thought it could be interesting to write a song from the other person‘s point of view and connect the songs and their protagonists. We chose to incorporate ropes in the titles because in these situations they can be a mean of help to climb out of the darkness or a means of suicide; we leave it up to the listener‘s imagination. Regarding the video, we were all quite tired of the same old “metal music video recipe”. Actually, we didn't really care for being in the video ourselves but found it way more interesting to play with smoke, lights and shadows. We got in touch with photographer Nicky de Silva via a common friend and he was very interested in diving into a darker side of the arts. We had a meeting with him and our visions clicked. He found the models for the video as well and we couldn't be happier with the result!“ For More Info Visit: www.facebook.com/konventband www.konvent666.bandcamp.com www.napalmrecords.com Spanish Symphonic Metallers Diabulus In Musica unveil new single & lyric video "The Misfit's Swing"17/1/2020 Travel through time and dance to the rhythm of “The Misfit’s Swing” with the second powerful single from Diabulus In Musica’s upcoming album, Euphonic Entropy, out on February 14 via Napalm Records! An anthem for those abandoned and misunderstood, “The Misfit’s Swing” – was musically inspired by the swing-fever of the 1930s. It takes the listener into the mind of the titular outcast, who rejects the conformist norms and instead attempts to embrace their own uniqueness. Despite the struggles the misfits face every day, they still strive for freedom from compromises and judging glances, aiming at appreciation of these personal differences and realization of self-worth. This emotional break-through, depicted on both a textual and instrumental level, unfolds as well in the space of the accompanying lyric video. Just as in the case of the dance itself, the audiovisual melodic charm of “The Misfit’s Swing” dwells in the past, with sepia colour palettes and vintage interiors. Smoothly referring to the cover and sublime musical atmosphere of the upcoming release, the lyric video is, at the same time, a gift for and a homage to the fans. Not only does it include the footage of them dancing to “The Misfit’s Swing”, but, just as the song itself, it furthermore addresses the reassuring feeling of collectivity among individuals isolated from the outer world. With their second single, Diabulus In Musica convince the listeners that their life among other people may resemble a dance in many aspects – and that there is no better way to go through it confidently than to the sounds of “The Misfit’s Swing”. Singer Zuberoa Aznárez comments:- “Here comes “The Misfit's Swing", the song for you all, unique people! Who hasn't felt that they don’t fit in with the rest of society for at least once in their life? Most of us have surely been the object of critics at some point. Sadly, we live in a world where the lack of respect and the fear of other people’s opinions limit us as individuals (personally, artistically...), so... Dance for the time being, to live and let live! Special thanks to all the lovely and brave fans who took part in this lyric video!” Watch The New Lyric Video for “The Misfit’s Swing” HERE!
