Most people have experienced tragedy in their lives and have been left to deal with the emotions. Everyone deals with this in their own way, The Artificials have taken a very painful experience of losing a friend in an accident and paid tribute in their new single, "Stormwolf". Aside from the hauntingly beautiful vocals of Sarah Rigdon, The Artificials' heartache is evident as she faithfully sings, "When your soul left, part of our hearts turned forever blue. We try to understand, but the peace of God surpasses all understanding. Blessed are those who mourn". Guitarist Alan Rigdon shares his perspective, "This song is dedicated in memory of Daulton Storm Holly, a friend who was taken from the world way too soon by a drunk driver. Matthew 5:4 Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted." The Artificials also announced that their debut album, "Heart", will be out on 3/31 and is available for pre order now at Merchbucket. Listen to "Stormwolf" now With a unique use of polyrhythms and odd time signatures, The Artificials will take you on somewhat of a mathematical journey of controlled chaos. Every song has a purpose and a certain feel, while keeping it simple with a catchy chorus to keep people singing. The dynamics of the clean guitar sections will take you from a sparkling angelic coma to a crushing chaotic rhythm and rip you back into reality. The Artificials originally consisted of Guitarist Alan Rigdon and his friend Aaron Surratt way back as teenagers posting demos on Myspace. Although the recordings were rough, it got the musicians noticed. Rigdon decided to put the band on hold when he joined Erra. After recording with Erra and going out on numerous national tours, Rigdon felt it was time to get back to his own thing. He went on to marry Vocalist Sarah Rigdon and started up The Artificals again. Finding the perfect additions to the line-up proved to be easier said than done. Rigdon found Travis Wilburn (guitar) on social media and because he had a similar writing style, he proved to be a perfect fit. Brent Stanley, a proficient multi instrumentalist was a home-town friend of Rigdon’s and was brought in on bass. Finding a drummer was the most difficult spot to fill but luckily Rigdon’s childhood friend, Shelton Summersgill was between projects and joined on drums. The Artificials released a 4 track EP in 2014 (Produced/Engineered by A. Rigdon of Study Sounds Recordings, Mastered by Griffin Kolinski [RIP] at Hourglass Studios). It was these recordings and the past relationship Rigdon had with Tragic Hero Records President Tommy LaCombe while with ERRA that led to the band partnering up with the label for their first full length album, “Heart” (Mixed / produced / mastered by A. Rigdon of Study Sound Recordings). Rigdon explains, “I have history with Tragic as I used to play guitar for ERRA. Tommy and I kept in touch because I felt like he really cared about our music and provided us with such a personable business relationship." "Heart" will be out March 2017. The band looks forward to hitting the road on their first tour together. Spotify

Linkin Park have sold out stadiums around the world and headlined some of the UK's biggest music festivals including Download and Reading and Leeds. http://linkinpark.com/ https://www.facebook.com/linkinpark Having been through so many phases and transformations throughout the years, it seems that often, heavy metal music can seem over-complicated - too complex, showy or pretentious. Alternatively, it can be too simple, regurgitated or repetitive. It's easy to forget that putting out an accessible, quality heavy metal recording shouldn't be difficult. Something inspired but direct, razor sharp but heavy. Truly exceptional music shouldn't have to be too conceptually and musically convoluted or dumbed-down to push you face-first into that tingling, meditative journey that it should provide. With replicated, simulated and easily-absorbed tracks dominating the airwaves and often showy, overly conceptualized prog-dilutions ruling the underground, it seems the ability to achieve any sort of balance of the two in metal is primarily lost. Enter Kansas City metal hybrid Hyborian, who illustrate a perfect equilibrium of rich concept and straightforward songwriting with their debut album, Hyborian: Volume I. The album drops on March 17, 2017 via Kansas City-based label The Company, and is available for pre-order now via www.thecompanykc.com. iTunes pre-orders will go live on March 3, with their first single, "Maelstrom", as an instant grat track. Check out "Maelstrom", streaming now exclusively via Decibel Magazine: http://decibelmagazine.com/blog/2017/2/15/track-premiere-hyborian-maelstrom As many parts stoner rock as it is retro-inspired and deliciously groovy, Hyborian's Hyborian: Volume I takes the listener on a ride that emits wall-shaking-levels of heaviness and lyrical fantasy, remaining engaging for any metal listener. Immense riffage, barrelling verses and piercing leads combine to create a sound that invites the listener to sit back and become fully-absorbed, when it isn't summoning involuntary elbow-throwing. Lyrically, the album's storytelling style is inspired by Robert E. Howard's Conan stories, but based on an interstellar, extra-dimensional cloaked being called The Traveller. Hyborian: Volume I tells his legends from the time before written language. Lead vocalist Martin Bush discusses the roots of Hyborian's lyrical inspiration, "I grew up reading pretty much anything I could get my hands on, which included me raiding my dad's book collection. He had a ton of classic sci-fi and fantasy, from Asimov and Heinlan to Howard and Cooper. Because of that, this writing style comes very naturally to me." He further explains, "Basically The Traveller is a being that exists outside of humanity's understanding of space and time. He is the source of all life in the universe, but is not omnipresent. He wanders the cosmos, visiting and recording times of great strife or hardship, great suffering or great triumph. We are his chosen mouthpiece on Earth, so we relate those stories, whether from far in the past or far in the future. For instance, "Maelstrom" is the story of a mountaintop battle between a being who has just achieved a higher consciousness in the midst of a scuffle with a sentient storm. In order to defeat the creature in the storm, he expends his newfound powers and gives up his life. We are also pretty into cryptography, so there are several hidden messages on the album from The Traveller if the listener is clever enough to find them." When a band says they built their sound from the ground up, they normally don't mean it literally. Once again, Hyborian prove individuality in this department, as Hyborian: Volume I was recorded at the band's own studio that they built themselves and eventually began also using as a rehearsal space. The album was then mixed by Justin Mantooth at Westend Studios (Radkey, Family, Godmaker) and mastered by Nick Zampiello at New Alliance East (The Red Chord, Torche, Trap Them). Bush says that recording on the band's own terms, in their own space, really helped them achieve their best product: "We decided to build our own space to record simply because it cost us about what it would have cost to track at a decent studio, but now we have a home base to make record after record after record. The art of crafting an album as opposed to a group of songs is somewhat lost, or at least relegated to the realms of people with incredibly deep pockets, so being able to really play around and do all the extra stuff that makes an album an album was really important to us." The track hails from the band's highly anticipated second album, Throes, set for international release on March 17th via Art of Propaganda. See/hear Allochiria's "Lifespotting" video exclusively HERE. Allochiria were formed in 2008 in Athens, Greece, and released a self-titled EP in 2010. In January 2014, they released their first full-length album, Omonoia. But in December 2016, Allochiria joined forces with Art of Propaganda for the release of the band’s second album, Throes. Having shared the stage with Deafheaven, Year of No Light, Altar of Plagues, and many more, as well as undertaking their first European tour in March 2015, Allochiria's live experience becomes readily apparent across the vast expanses of Throes. Although their music has often been likened to Neurosis, ISIS, Amenra, and Cult of Luna, Allochiria assert their own identity in the post-sludge realm with their deep exploration of very human themes. With Throes, its theme explores man as a social being, the corruption that defines him in modern societies, his vain struggles, painful routine, and the effect this has in the world around him. In that regard, Throes retains the same concept as Omonoia, which has man in its main area of interest. But this time, Allochiria's pursuit of that concept is angrier and more direct, making for an even more intense listen. Speaking directly to mankind, Throes expresses anger, pain, and agony in a higher degree; living beings are being killed, drowned, destroyed, and left helpless, and the rest either cause this or witness it. We mourn a little bit, and then go on with our lives - we are hopeless and weak. This is Throes, and Allochiria are guiding its maelstrom. Excalibur, the legendary Spanish heavy metal band formed back in 1984, have just signed a deal with Fighter Records for the release of their third album, titled Humo Negro ("Black Smoke"), coming later this spring. After a couple of demos in '84 and '87, Excalibur released their debut album in '88 under the title of Generación Maldita ("Damned Generation"), which has the honour of being the heavy metal record with the highest selling price in Spain - no more and no less than 1600 Euros! Bad luck followed this record: only 100 copies were saved from destruction, which means it's one of the most sought-after treasures of Spanish heavy metal/rock. In 1996, Excalibur recorded their second album, Cero, which was never commercialized, remaining unreleased still today. In 2013, the band returned with a new EP, Más Duros ("Harder"). Now in 2017, Excalibur has finished what will be their third full-length album, Humo Negro, where they represent the purest and most traditional Spanish heavy metal/hard rock, and will be released, promoted, and distributed both nationally and internationally by Fighter Records, the new division of Xtreem Music devoted to traditional metal sounds. Soon, Fighter Records will reveal more details about Humo Negro, as well as its release date. In the meantime, visit Excalibur's official Facebook page HERE, and listen to a song from that mythic debut album from '84, Generación Maldita, HERE. www.facebook.com/Excalibur.rockband www.fighter-records.com www.facebook.com/fighter.records Belgian Black metal band Saille have teamed up with Decibel magazine to premiere the lyric video for their new track "Benei ha'Elohim". The song is taken from their forthcoming album Gnosis which will be released on March 17th via Code666. The band commented:- "The Benei ha'Elohim (translated: "Sons of God") were a group of beings that descended from the Heavens to mate with the Daughters of Men and thereby defying the will of God. They gifted mankind with great knowledge, including that of crafts and magic, but their deeds resulted in the birth of the Nephilim, destructive giants that wreaked havoc upon the earth." The track hails from the band's highly anticipated debut album, Before the Gates of Gomorrah, set for international release on March 13th via Invictus Productions. Hear Apostate Viaticum's "Moloch the Sanguinary" in its entirety exclusively HERE. One of the most exciting new bands Invictus has come across lately, Apostate Viaticum feature in their ranks a number of Irish metal veterans, largely evolving out of the band Morphosis, whose roots stretch back to the early '90s. Indeed, ancient times inform much of Before the Gates of Gomorrah: the foundation of late '80s deathrash is firm here, with the pioneering old works of Sadus, Pestilence, Master, and Sepultura setting forth the signposts by which Apostate Viaticum take flight and subsequently destroy. And yet, it's what the band do with these influences which makes Before the Gates of Gomorrah so fresh. Bolstered by absolutely blistering production, Apostate Viaticum conjure slowly evolving whirlpools of maniacal Metal of Death magic, simmering with patience and slithering in a most serpentine manner, all before exploding into rabid, red-eyed bestiality or striking with iron-fisted doom-trudge, in between moving with martial grace and malevolent ease. Indeed, one could easily qualify Before the Gates of Gomorrah as "martial" metal par excellence, exhibiting as it does a unique 'n' elusive stridency that slots itself well alongside Invictus brethren Diocletian, Bölzer, and ZOM whilst exhibiting a comparably righteous rivetheadedness of Gospel of the Horns, Vomitor, and Throaat. Altogether, it's ever-singular EXTREME METAL, and it's merely the dawn of greatness for Apostate Viaticum. Hear the next glimpse of greatness exclusively HERE, courtesy of Decibel, North America's only monthly metal magazine. The first glimpse of greatness can be heard the track "In the Shadow of the Monolith" at Invictus' Soundcloud HERE.
