French modern metal stars Eths are releasing a new song taken from their forthcoming full-length 'Ankaa', which has been scheduled for release on April 22nd. The track "Kumari Kandam" is now exclusively premiered by the official media partners below.
Eths guitarist Staif Bihl comments: "I am glad to introduce a third new track from our forthcoming album. The lyrics of 'Kumari Kandam' were written by me with the help of my friend Faustine Berardo (La Nebuleuse D'hima), who is also singing some parts of this song together with Sarah Layssac of Arkan. Kumari Kandam is a legendary continent that is said to be lying at the bottom of the sea south of the Indian subcontinent. My lyrics deal with human civilizations, and how they have vanished due to force of nature or just of their own doing – as a warning for future generations. Of course, this story also applies to our own civilization, which seems to be working as hard as possible to speed up its own downfall." Tracklisting 1. Nefas 2. Nihil Sine Causa 3. Amaterasu 4. Seditio 5. Nixi Dii 6. Vae Victis 7. HAR1 8. Sekhet Aaru 9. Kumari Kandam 10. Alnitak 11. Alnilam 12. Mintaka Ankaa, also known as Alpha Phoenicis, is the brightest star in the Phoenix constellation. Eths are reaching for the stars again with their fourth full-length, which also bears the title 'Ankaa'. The French modern metal outfit has been a shooting star in its homeland, but now aims to shine in a new light and in a new constellation.
'Ankaa' manages to keep the essence of the band, guided by mastermind and guitarist Staif Bihl, who also produced the album. Yet with new frontwoman Rachel Aspe and other changes in the line-up there are new elements in the sound of the French act. The new album sounds more diverse and generally a touch darker. Electronic patterns find as easily a fitting place as a beautiful Arabic chant by guest vocalist Sarah Layssac (Arkan). For this recording, Soilwork drummer extraordinaire Dirk Verbeuren stepped in and delivered a massive yet intricate pounding. www.eths.net www.facebook.com/EthsPage

The album concept, based on classic campfire-circle style horror stories, presents a different story with each track. Screams From A Black Wilderness features a heavier, grimier and considerably more advanced version of the All Hail The Yeti fans have come to know since their inception. Today, All Hail The Yeti is revealing a brand new track from Screams From A Black Wilderness, entitled Mr. Murder, which features guest vocals from Brock Lindow of 36 Crazyfists. Head over to GuitarWorld.com now to listen to the track and read an interview with vocalist Connor Garritty: http://www.guitarworld.com/artist-news-interviews/all-hail-yetis-connor-garritty-talks-new-album-screams-black-wilderness/28883 Vocalist Connor Garritty reveals that this track in particular steps outside the overall horror theme of the album. Mr. Murder was originally written as a surprise tribute to Garritty's best friend, penned before his untimely passing last year. The band decided to use the track on this record, immortalizing Connor's friend in music. "Mr. Murder was written about my best friend Matt who passed away last year. He was one of the most influential people for me growing up and throughout my music career. The song was originally written in tribute to him and his unbelievable strength and passion for life. He left us unexpectedly before I could show him the song. It was supposed to be a surprise, almost a thank you to him for helping in more ways than he knew." Garritty adds that having Brock Lindow on the track was fitting, as he and Matt were also friends, adding more emotional depth to the track. "We knew early in the writing of the record that we wanted Brock Lindow on the album. Brock and Matt were friends as well so it seemed fitting that this would be the song he sang on. It was special for me to have Brock on the album and this song in particular because he is one of my best friends as well and such an influence to me as a vocalist. Mr. Murder has become an anthem to my best friend immortalizing him forever. It is very emotional for me when performing this. I go between sadness and great happiness by the end of the song." Screams From A Black Wilderness is produced by Matt Hyde, known for his prior work with renowned groups such as Deftones, Slayer, and Soulfly. Get social:- Website German Technical / Progressive Death Metal masters Obscura have just shared a stream of "The Origin of Primal Expression," the deluxe CD-only bonus track from their brand-new record 'Akroasis' via Metal Hammer Germany! Steffen Kummerer of Obscura commented on the track: “The Origin of Primal Expression” shows the title track of our new album stripped down to only one acoustic guitar and is meant to give a slight insight behind the scenes of writing an Obscura song. The two main themes show that certain Death vibes are still present and audible within the multilayered song structures we work with. The bonus tracks on Akroasis are a gesture of gratitude to everyone who purchases physical copies of the record. Music, lyrics and artworks together build an album and create a certain vibe and flair within the songs that is barely comprehensible with a few files stored on a hard disc." "The Origin of Primal Expression" can be heard now via Metal Hammer Germany at this location or via Soundcloud here. Additionally, Obscura will provide direct support in Europe for Death DTA on the "European Thought Patterns" tour this March and April.
