Copenhagen-based Rising has just issued a new trailer documenting the recording of their impending third LP, "Oceans Into Their Graves", as the album nears release in late April. Since its genesis in 2008, Rising has displayed relentless, crushing tones, fierce musicianship, and a strong sense for melody and songwriting, their sound slickly melding straightforward classic metal elements with the mammoth amplification and persuasion of upbeat sludge/doom metal. Those traits follow through on "Oceans Into Their Graves" -- the first album since the band's revamping process following their 2013 "Abominor" LP -- yet "Oceans Into Their Graves" also sees this new incarnation of the beast hungrier than ever, while the melodies soar with even more invigoration, their delivery greased to perfection and operating at full steam, resulting in the band's undeniably strongest album yet. Boasting nearly forty-five minutes of mega-infectious riff domination, the album was recorded by producer Jacob Bredahl (By The Patient, The Kandidate) at Dead Rat Studios in Aarhus, Denmark, mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege (Sleep, Black Breath, Old Man Gloom), and bears cover artwork created by vocalist Morten Grønnegaard.

Brazilian Melodic Death Metal band D.A.M released an all new EP titled "Premonitions..." on March 18th. Performing catchy melodies and arrangements unified in lyrical and musical aspects across compositional techniques inspired by Classical Music. Since emerging in the Belo Horizonte area of Brazil, South America in 2013, D.A.M has been a very productive band. Having released 2 full length albums and 2 EPs prior to this new EP that brings a colder and depressive atmosphere to the band's identity. Showcasing enriched and extremely complex song structures and passages to incorporate a more progressive side with occultism & the dark side of the mind as a guide in their thematic. The "Premonitions..." EP was recorded by Guilherme de Alvarenga, Edu Megale, Caio Campos and Jéssica Delazare in Belo Horizonte- MG- Brazil & Mixed and Mastered by David Fau at Best Plugins Studio (Valencia- Spain) between March and July of 2015. The D.A.M "Premonitions..." EP is available now as a free download here. A physical release of the EP is expected at some time in the future. 01. Premonitions... The clip for the track "For A Voice Like Thunder" is now streaming above. The song features guest vocals by Nick Holmes (Paradise Lost). Frontman Sakis Tolis comments: "Dear all, we present to you our first official lyric video in support of our latest album 'Rituals' with pride. This song has been inspired by the poetry of William Blake and contains long forgotten but nonetheless very meaningful words, which influenced us during our writing sessions. Hopefully you will enjoy 'For A Voice Like Thunder' as much as we do!" https://www.facebook.com/Rotting-Christ-290468585669/ In 2014 Diamond Head invited London based, Danish-born Ras to join the band. Together they completed a European tour, which included appearances at Hard Rock Hell and Head Bangers Open Air in Germany. The spark of creativity led the band to start working on the new album in January 2015. Brian Tatler, founder of Diamond Head, said: “When we began talking with Ras about making a new record he said we should write the songs as a band just like Diamond Head did at the beginning of our career. There’s no substitute for writing together in the same room, we spark each other off and create something far bigger than we could have done individually.” Brian continued, “Ras has certainly renewed the energy within the band. I had no interest in doing another record but after working with Ras on the European tour that all suddenly changed. I wanted to make a record with him. He’s a confident singer and he’s not trying to fill anyone’s shoes.” Speaking about the new album, Brian said: “This new album has an echo of the early albums but I always try to push our music forward somewhere new if possible.” Ras adds, “All in all this album was made with the band’s first fans foremost in mind from start to finish. We wanted to write songs that would have ties to the best parts of the all the previous albums. We feel we have achieved what we set out to do and we hope everyone will hear and feel the Diamond Head spirit through this new eponymous record.” In general the album lyrics focus on political and environmental themes, specifically warning that our world is in many ways leaning towards self-destruction. The opening and closing songs encapsulate these themes, while the body of the album explores subtopics in more depth, along with songs dealing with lighter subjects that aren’t so heavy on the heart. On signing with Dissonance Brian had this to say: “Its great to be working with Steve, Tom and their team and being on their new label Dissonance. They have a great enthusiastic team who are big fans of the band, that and being distributed via Plastic Head we feel part of something that will be really positive for the band. We feel armed and ready” Dissonance will also release “All Will Be Revealed” from 2005 and 2007’s “What’s in Your Head” on June 20th. Finnish pagan metal act Moonsorrow have launched an epic video for their brand-new track 'Suden Tunti' (The Hour Of The Wolf), which is taken off their upcoming new album 'Jumalten Aika'.
Mitja Harvilahti shares his thoughts:- "This is the shortest song we've done in more than ten years!” comments Ville Sorvali. “It has all the elements that make it a Moonsorrow track but it's still something we hadn't done before. This is the dark side of folk metal - the epic battle of Fenris and Odin from a new perspective." “This is the day we never thought would come. We never thought we would release an official Moonsorrow music video. Writing music without compromises is hard enough. Making a video that catches the same spirit without compromises and awkward moments that takes away the credibility is even harder! We had a thought for some time that only an animated video with enough artistic flavour would work. Since Suden Tunti is somewhat based on actual myths it was possible to create the world where the script takes place!” You can watch the video for 'Suden Tunti' here: The band's seventh studio album 'Jumalten Aika' - which means 'The Age Of Gods' in English – will be released on April 1st, 2016 via Century Media Records. The songs 'Regret' and 'House of the Eternal Hunt' are being released in tandem - check them out here: http://vevo.ly/21Emgl "What you have is the beginning of the story and all the light and darkness of things to come! We meet our protagonist, Owl as she lies dying, looking back on the night that would be her last. Regret is about, well regret! Staring into the cold eyes of Death, she wishes to change everything, to go back, to live again. This leads us to House of Eternal Hunt. It is how things used to be; how they were supposed to be. That is how the tale starts, with a predator ruling the sky on the night that would turn out to be her last! With this concept and these tracks, we want to give you the past, present and, more than anything else, the future of metal as we see it. It is the beginning of an epic journey and we're glad to have you along for the trip." says frontman Johannes Eckström The aim is set higher, further and deeper than ever before for AVATAR. Not only is this concept album their most extensive work to date, showing the widest range of any of their albums, it also contains a story too extensive for any booklet, so they made a book. A fully illustrated 60 page, 109 verse poem hardcover book. The physical album pre order, book, and exclusive merchandise is available now.
