Greek symphonic death maestros Septicflesh release video for their magnificent new single "Neuromancer"

Symphonic death metal masters Septicflesh have revealed a new video for their magnificent new single "Neuromancer". The track thunders along with a fierce groove whilst allowing for flourishes of otherworldly atmosphere to permeate the seemingly impenetrable wall of sound.

Pre-order Modern Primitive on various formats and stream the new single now at: https://septicflesh.bfan.link/neuromancer.ema

Guitarist, vocalist, and lyricist Sotiris Anunnaki V. comments:-

"A technologically advanced society, where morals decline and crime thrives, is the 'stage' of this song. The main character is suffering from severe neural damage. In order to receive a cure, and be able to physically reconnect to the global network, he accepts an obscure hacking mission. After all, the virtual reality data space, to him, is more like home.

The skeleton of the song was structured upon the 12 string guitar. The main melody and the various emotional tones of the song were crafted upon this more organic-sounding instrument. Then, after arrangement decisions were taken, the song turned out the way you hear it. Besides the strings, brass, and other standard orchestra sections used, a mandolin takes a lead role preparing for the climax of the addictive chorus and the ultra-heavy main riff. Also, there is a more theatrical interaction with the various vocal styles within our arsenal in this song."

Lebanese thrash / groove metal titans Phenomy have unveiled their music video for the song "The Mute, The Deaf, The Blind"; taken from their blistering new album 'Syndicate Of Pain', which came out March 3rd 2022, along with harrowing animation video 'Lead Me To My Throne'.

'Syndicate Of Pain' is a concept album about an asylum ran by Dr Anton Shuman, a mad scientist that is manipulating criminals and patients labelled insane in his facility. The album later reveals that these patients are not being cured, but are part of a bigger and darker project, that even Dr Schuman himself is being deceived by.

Indian extreme metal veterans Demonic Resurrection release new single after 5 years of near inactivity

24/3/2022

Picture

Indian metal veterans Demonic Resurrection have returned with a new single ‘The Eye Of Eternity’. The track sees the band bring on Benighted drummer Kevin Paradis, keyboardist  Misstiq from Australia, and vocalist Pratika to feature on the track. The band also uses this opportunity to announce Aditya Swaminathan (Kill The King) as their new lead guitarist who also plays on the song.

The track has been inspired by the artwork of Aaron Pinto aka Kidsquidy who created the artwork for the band’s 20th-anniversary merchandise line. Watch the official lyric video:  https://youtu.be/duOdK8-uUJM

Picture

Frontman Demonstealer shares his thoughts:-

‘It’s been a tough couple of years for the band and I just felt I wanted to do something but an album would take time. That’s why I decided to take inspiration for songs from all the artworks we had created for our 20th Anniversary merchandise. We got together 4 of our fav designers who have previously worked with us on merch or album covers, Gaurav Basu aka Acid Toad, Michal ‘Xaay’ Loranc, Visual Amnesia, and Aaaron Pinto aka Kidsquidy.

The first track I decided to work on was based on this artwork. The track is just honestly a journey with various moods and tempos. Working with Kevin, Misstiq, and Pratika has been an absolute dream and Aditya just topped everything off perfectly with his solos.’

The track has been mixed and mastered by ex-Demonic Resurrection guitarist Daniel Kenneth Rego and the lyric video was created by Abshishek Goswami from Sonicspawn Studios. Fans who have purchased the 20th-anniversary merchandise are getting a free download of the song from the band as well.

Greek cinematic metallers Fortis Ventus unveil epic symphonic single

Rockshots Records will be releasing Fortis Ventus' debut album "Vertalia" on June 3, 2022.

Combining symphonic and cinematic elements along with soundtrack influences, today the Greek trio unveils their first single off the forthcoming record. Entitled "My Death is My Devotion", the song captures the pain and faith behind the sacrifices for the ones we care about from the emotions driven by love and loyalty.

"An epic orchestral intro brings us to stormy seas only for the rhythmic triplets to ground us as the catchy melody gets stuck in your head. The vocals sing long notes while the band and orchestra keep a groovy rhythm going. Then it quiets down to a sombre voice that is filled with emotion only for it to return even stronger than before." adds the band.

Listen to "My Death is My Devotion" at the following links:

  • Lyric Video - https://youtu.be/esxUrI3OgVU
  • Spotify - https://spoti.fi/3tpUoUH

Sentimental, dramatic, grand, cinematic, and imaginative, "Vertalia" is a concept album based on a novel-fairytale written by keyboardist George Halliwell.

"Twelve chapters for a total of twelve tracks" says, Halliwell.

The theme of this fairytale focuses on an imaginary planet called Vertalia, where the main character starts their journey to discover their inner truth and the truth of life itself. Through the challenges they face during their journey back to Earth, they connect with their higher self and take a path to eventually achieve inner peace back towards their homeland of Vertalia.

"The audience will be surprised at the intricate orchestrations that hide behind complex melodies on this album. Each person hearing it, will find a glimmer to empathize in every track. We wanted to tell a story and give the listener a variety of feelings and a journey alongside the lyrics."
adds the band.

Japanese symphonic metal wizards Heterogeneous Andead drop new lyric video "Fragments Of Memories"

24/3/2022

Picture

"Fragments Of Memories" is a track taken from Heterogeneous Andead's upcoming album "Chaotic Fragments", which is due for release April 8th via Wormholedeath worldwide.

Heterogeneous Andead is a melodic & symphonic electro death / thrash metal band from Tokyo, Japan. The sound is based on thrash metal with progressive metal, added electronic & symphonic sounds, and all of them is sung by a mezzo-soprano & who also uses growling vocals.

"We've released one EP & album so far, so this album will be our third release. We don't change the concept and aimed to further improve the level while making it understandable as Heterogeneous Andead music immediately after listening. There are songs with more progressive elements in this album, and we also take on new challenges such as triple time.

It also features more guitar harmonies and the synthesizer's sound is more emphasized than before. The performance of each part is also more energetic. This album has only 8 songs, but I think that all the songs are good quality to be the lead track of the album. In this album Yusuke Kiyama worked on mixing / mastering, so all the sounds are our ideals."

Heterogeneous Andead are:-

  • Haruka: Vocals (Mezzo-soprano & growling vocals)
  • Yusuke Kiyama: Guitar, Synthesizer, Programming
  • Tomoyuki Nakano: Drums

Icelandic tech death outfit Ophidian I are proud to announce their 'Rock Album Of The Year' nomination at the Icelandic Music Awards (Íslensku Tónlistarverðlaunin)!

The band's latest release 'Desolate' has been selected among other releases from artists like The Vintage Caravan and Monotown. A full list of nominations can be found HERE.

Ophidian I commented on the nomination:

"This nomination is a huge deal for us. A milestone for the band, ourselves and extreme metal in general. While we certainly poured enough into this album to feel a nomination would be warranted, it didn’t really feel like something that’d actually come to fruition - making this almost surreal but in the absolute best way. We are very honoured, thankful and proud to be harvesting all the hard work that we and our amazing team have brought to this release. But most of all, thank you so much to all of you whom have been spinning the album and spreading the word since it came out. TAKK FYRIR!"

Cradle Of Filth release new video "How Many Tears To Nurture A Rose"

22/3/2022

Demonic outfit Cradle Of Filth is proud to release an extraordinary new video, accompanying their magnificently mournful track "How Many Tears To Nurture A Rose?". The video premiered as part of Cradle Of Filth's Infernal Vernal Equinox Deadstream, and now fans all across the globe can also bask in its sublime black magick.

Directed by Vicente Cordero, the stunning video winds a haunting tale - sinister, alluring, and deadly. But he that dares not grasp the thorn, should never crave the rose...

Infamous front-man Dani Filth stated:

"This is yet another great video by director Vicente Cordero, encapsulating the occult essence of the song’s lyricism with great sweeping colourful strokes of total batshit-craziness. It really makes for frightening, yet strangely compelling viewing!"

The gates of hell opened once again in 2021, revealing Cradle Of Filth's 13th manifesto  "Existence Is Futile". Pieced together in isolation at Grindstone Studios in Suffolk with studio guru  Scott Atkins, the record is a pitch-black, perverse and at times absurdly brutal masterpiece, based around the concept of existentialism.

Diehard fans were thrilled to learn that horror icon Doug 'Pinhead' Bradley made a welcome return, lending his dulcet tones to the band's most politically astute song to date, the epic "Suffer Our Dominion" as well as the album bonus track "Sisters Of The Mist", which is the conclusion to the "Her Ghost In The Fog" trilogy, started over 20 years ago on the infamous and classic Midian.

UK-based thrashcore outfit Cage Fight share video for "Respect Ends"

Hardcore / thrash band Cage Fight have released the video for new single "Respect Ends." Watch it here. The accompanying video, satisfyingly played out by Cage Fight vocalist Rachel Aspe, arrives as a warning to those that attempt to prey on others.

The singer explains:-

"This song is dedicated to men (or in fact anyone) who thinks it's ok to harass, abuse, make inappropriate comments, or not take no for an answer, both in the real world but also online. It's also a message of solidarity to those who have been victims of such behaviour. The video is symbolic of the frustration and damage this can cause, and it's something we, as a society, should not and will not accept. The final message is clear. If this is how you behave, stay the f**k away. Otherwise, you will regret it."

  14. "Bitch In The Pit" (Body Count cover)

The band's debut self-titled album is due out May 13 on Candlelight. Pre-order it here. One of the most furious hardcore records to emerge from the UK in recent years, the anger and frustration of Cage Fight's self-titled debut album is the perfect catharsis for our times.

The album's artwork — a grabbing hand with the Cage Fight logo tattooed on the palm — visually portrays the violent rage at the core of the band's music. Legitimately inked by Aspe, a tattoo artist by trade, the process of creating the image is as impactful as the final artwork itself.
