Dunkelheit Produktionen has set July 23rd as the international release date for Tunjum's highly anticipated debut album, Deidades del inframundo, on CD format. The vinyl LP version shall see release on August 1st.
Hailing from Lima, Peru, Tunjum began in 2007 as an all-female project playing pagan-themed death metal. Their first promo tape arrived in 2011, to be followed by another promo in 2014, and later that year the Sagrado tiempo de caos EP and the Muerte ancestral demo. Though the line-up changed during these years, Tunjum remained committed to their primary influences - Death, Massacre, Autopsy, Treblinka, Nocturnus, VON, Nihilist, Insulter, Grotesque, Asphyx, Expulser, and Genocidio among others - but always endeavoured to etch their own uniqueness within such exquisite rawness and darkness. And while that line-up has since ceased to be an all-female one, founding drummer (and now also vocalist) Kultarr continues to guide the band, and her vocals lend a particularly diabolic aspect to Tunjum's proudly traditional attack.
Since the beginning, Tunjum's themes have largely revolved around the ancient Moche culture, which reigned over eastern Peru from about 100 AD to 800 AD. Through Tunjum's music, the listener is drawn into the Moche mythology, which is strongly based on blood: sacrificing the blood of a beheaded enemy to the gods strengthened their reign over the world. Also, there were many voluntary sacrifices, because the bloodshed was seen as a cleansing of the soul that linked the victim to the ancestors and thus made him holy. The name Tunjum itself is also rooted in the Moche language, and is taken from the combined verb for killing and dying. This hallows the ritual of blood and death, which was the only way of communicating with the gods, in times when the gods only lusted for blood and war.
Indeed, across the 42 minutes comprising Deidades del inframundo, the listener is dragged deeply down into Tunjum's deadly vortex of blood, sacrifice, and total DEATH METAL. Tunjum's attack is at once unapologetically primitive and expertly nuanced, which is not surprising considering their current lineup is completed by members of such respected cults as Grave Desecration and Putrid. The hammering surge strips everything down to its barbaric basics, but within that almost-hypnotizing rush of crude 'n' rude Metal of Death lays a keen understanding of what makes this artform so enduring - songwriting that literally possesses the listener immediately, and proceeds to guide each listener into the darkest bowels of the imagination (and beyond...). And it's a totality that Tunjum pound and punish and pound and punish across each of these eight tracks, with Kultarr's world-eating vocals, in particular, acting like an instrument unto itself; simply, there is no escape.
Completed by suitably ominous artwork courtesy of Alan Corpse, Tunjum make a grand, garish entry onto the world stage with Deidades del inframundo. The question remains, then: will you return from their thrall? Tempt fate with the new track "Difunta Señora Soberana" HERE at Dunkelheit's Bandcamp, where the album can also be pre-ordered.
American power metallers Sonic Prophecy have posted a new lyric video for their track "Man The Guns" off their third full length "Savage Gods" unleashed via Rockshots Records this past January.
Watch it now at the following link: https://youtu.be/6rwhHOjXzwo
"Savage Gods" follows Sonic Prophecy's 2015 sophomore release "Apocalyptic Promenade" (Maple Metal Records), an album that combined the melody and beauty of symphonic power metal while maintaining the crunch, drive and power of traditional metal plus their 2011 debut "A Divine Act of War", which had its music placed in the television series “Rock n’ Lock”, the video game “Volgarr the Viking” and movie Danny Trejo's “Vengeance”.
This latest album "Savage Gods" lyrically covers many topics, from quests and medieval wars, to mechanized genocide, to the dangers associated with extremist ideologies. Broadening and stretching their musical palate, "Savage Gods" will give fans an adventurous listening experience. It's an album that combines melodic hard rock, driving heavy metal, and chest pounding anthems in a way that is uniquely Sonic Prophecy.
"We think our fans will love this album! Savage Gods, as a record, basically combines all of the things I think people liked about our previous releases and then moves us forward into new areas musically and lyrically. For our fans, there will be no mistaking this is Sonic Prophecy, but we definitely cover some new exciting ground on this record. This is pure heavy metal with driving guitars, thundering drums, and some of what I feel is my best vocal work to date. With songs "Night Terror, "Unholy Blood" and the album title track, we’ve really laid down a brutal sonic backdrop, along with keeping the melody, which is important to our music." - vocalist Shane Provstgaard.

Toronto groove metal four-piece Vodnik will be unleashing their debut music video "Our Dread, Our Joy" in the coming weeks and before they set the world ablaze they are sharing with metal fans a little taste of what's to come in a new teaser that can be viewed at the following link: https://youtu.be/v8olzP58iks
Approaching the genre with a blend of heavier and lighter styles, which range from technical metal riffs, to spooky mellow passages, to hardcore breakdowns, Vodnik balance their metal between progressive grooves and dark atmospheres to establish a sound that is both bizarre and ominous yet catchy and memorable. With this formula, Vodnik aspires to grab the attention of a wider audience.
Drawing their name and lyrical themes from the mythological Czech creature, guitarist Jeremy Jackson explains:
“In Czech, Vodnik roughly translates to ‘of water’. I adopted the name for us because it is a widely celebrated mythological creature from my Czech heritage. Vodnik is gruesome, perfect for metal and what we want to do with it.”
Vocalist Reinier Vandenbosch adds:
“Lakes and rivers are its territory where it awaits to trap the souls of drowning victims. He is similar to the boogieman of the English-speaking world that also scares children. I try to write the lyrics largely from the perspective of the Vodnik creature.”
Along with embracing themes centred around the creature, Vodnik is also inspired by science fiction and horror, social and political commentary, dark philosophical ideas, and other mythological stories. Citing a wide variety of musical influences, Vodnik is a legit, no nonsense, heavy band that brings a ferocious energy to the stage.
The band's forthcoming debut single "Our Dread, Our Joy" is off their planned debut EP slated for later release in 2019.
In the run-up to the release of the new album entitled "The Deep" Soulline releases the single "laviathan". Below is an overview of where the single can be streamed.
The band also announced when the new album "The Deep" will be released. The album will appear worldwide on September 19th, 2018 in all online stores, streaming services, label website, band website and more.

Spanish heavy metal band Witchfyre have just inked a deal with Fighter Records for the release of their debut album, Grimorium Verum, this coming summer.
Formed in 2011, Witchfyre did its debut recording with a 7" EP entitled Banshee in 2013, followed by the mini-CD Legends, Rites and Witchcraft in 2014 through French label Infernö Records. In 2016, the album Grimorium Verum was recorded and remained unreleased until Fighter Records showed interest in releasing it.
The style of Witchfyre can be described as classic heavy metal with strong influences coming from Mercyful Fate, helped by the versatility of their vocalist Emi Metal (also of new labelmates Iron Hunter). Witchfyre is a band that will for sure appeal to any fan of modern stuff like Portrait, In Solitude, Trial (Sweden), and Candle.
Soon, Fighter Records will reveal the first advance single as well as cover artwork and tracklist for Grimorium Verum. In the meantime, you can check out a song from their previous mini-CD HERE.
Greek black metal mystics Melan Selas stream the entirety of their Reon compilation LP at Decibel magazine's website. Set for international release on May 25th via Iron Bonehead Productions, hear Melan Selas' Reon in its entirety exclusively HERE.
Melan Selas are a black metal duo hailing from Greece, comprised of vocalist/lyricist Ἀστραία (Astraea) - Oletir and multi-instrumentalist D.K. Formed in Trikala in 2016, the selfsame four-song Melan Selas debut EP soon followed that year on CD format. Here, Melan Selas march triumphantly forward with a mid-tempo, bass-driven sound that largely recalls the classic Hellenic black metal canon, but with a Lilith-like magic all their own. In fact, the titles to the EP's first two tracks - "Ethereal Annihilation" and "Ancient Spirit" - ring truer than most other descriptions of the band's sound.
Stoic and steely, simmering with a touch of madness spilling over into mysticism: this first recording set the stage for Melan Selas' next strike, which are two brand-new epics collected here for the first time. Longer and stronger, given to galloping blasts of speed, the latest developments of Melan Selas' sound charge forward with even more excitement and an addicting sense of victory. Additionally, a further flare for the classic Greek black metal sound is both defined and reinvigorated; you could easily say Reon came out 25 years ago as you could today. But let it be known that Melan Selas are no mere nostalgia act: their black metal is a deeply personal and potent sort, done with equal amounts reverence and abandon.
With their Melan Selas EP completing side B of the vinyl LP, Melan Selas' Reon is a dramatic introduction to what surely could become the black metal underground's new king and queen. Hail Hellas! Hail fully exclusively HERE, courtesy of Decibel, North America's only monthly metal magazine.
Iron Bonehead Productions sets July 21st as the international release date for Aparthiva Raktadhara's debut demo, Agyat Ishvar, on 7" vinyl format.
Hailing from Kalikshetra, from the rising Indian black/death scene that's spawned fellow Iron Bonehead noise terrorists Tetragrammacide, Aparthiva Raktadhara create an ultra-violent whirlwind of dread frequencies that somehow manages to sound hallucinatory. In a swift 13 minutes, the power-trio's opening salvo blasts and twists and swirls with feral, frightening intent; just its sheer, Spartan overload of violence alone is stultifying enough. But within that maelstrom, Aparthiva Raktadhara have carefully cultivated a sort of order from chaos, with occult mathematics seemingly employed to elevate each messy-on-the-surface angularity into a stridently martial attack. And Agyat Ishvar is just the first detonation...a new EP for Iron Bonehead is being prepared.
In the meantime, hear the new track "Proclamations of the Empty" HERE at Iron Bonehead's Soundcloud.
Heavy Generation is a heavy metal band formed in 2015 by Marco Marchioni (bass) and Marco Stefani (drums). In 2016, after several line up changes, Fabio Cavestro (guitars) and Ivan Giannini (voice) joined the band. With them, Heavy Generation reached a balance that gave the band the cool heavy sound they were looking for.
Heavy Generation want to spread their own personal message through their songs. They deal with several themes: mythology, honour, war and dystopia, the deep connection between spirit and nature, the denial of a corrupted society and the balance between the passion of heart and the power of mind. To help achieve this vision, the band members perform on stage as four road warriors, with costumes and scenography freely inspired to a post apocalyptic scenario.
In 2017, the recording sessions took place for the bands debut album The Spirit Lives On and toward the end of the year, the video Fire, Steel, Metal was filmed, directed and edited by Violex Video. It’s taken from the upcoming album and tells a story of how to defeat your own demons and change your destiny by the power of the will …and, of course, through heavy metal. The Spirit Lives On is set to be released via Sliptrick Records later in the year.
The Spirit Lives On | Released TBA, 2018 on Sliptrick Records
Heavy Generation are:
Ivan Giannini – Vocals
Fabio Cavestro – Guitars
Marco Marchioni – Bass
Marco Stefani – Drums

At the forefront of slam, Belarusian quartet Extermination Dismemberment are leading up the charge and have revealed a brand new single and video just days before embarking to headline the Slamming Annihilation Tour across Europe. Sure to cement an already rock solid reputation, 'Omnivore' is a weighted track of mammoth proportions and offers a mere glimpse of the impending aural assault due from the bands third full length album in the near future.
Listen To 'Omnivore' Here! - https://youtu.be/bXHbPyYxuoE
The band comments:-
"Guts, blood and meat. 'Omnivore' continues the main concept of the band's whole material and appears as a connection point between the old and the upcoming stuff. The track is based on classic riffs of slamming brutal death metal. No melody, no calmness. Two and a half minutes of complete destruction. The composition gives us nothing but heaviness, which is our main priority."
Extermination Dismemberment is a slamming brutal death metal band from Minsk, Belarus. The band's current lineup includes Arseniy Kovalchuk (guitar), Vladislav Martirosov (vocals), Viktor Kanashevich (bass) and Denis Poluyan (drums). The band was founded in October 2009 by guitarist Arseniy Kovalchuk and vocalist Valeriy Kozhemyako. They started working on the debut album at once. During the process, the band found two more members: Viktor Kanashevich (bass) and Vladislav Martirosov (drums). Valeriy Kozhemyako left the band in 2013 and was replaced by the band's drummer Vladislav Martirosov in 2016. Soon after that Denis Poluyan joined the band on drums.
The band's debut album Butcher Basement was released in December 2010 by the Ukrainian label Imbecil Entertainment Records. Having started actively playing shows, Extermination Dismemberment immediately started writing new material and three years after their debut album, on May 27th 2013, the second full-length album Serial Urbicide was released by the famous Japanese label Amputated Vein Records. Immediately after the release, Serial Urbicide collected a lot of positive reviews and became album of the year according to SBDC. To this day, Serial Urbicide stays in fans' playlists and continues to gather new audiences around the world.
