Ahoy there, all ye crusty crusaders of the seven seas! ‘Tis a fortuitous day indeed for the infamous privateers and pirate metal outfit Lagerstein, who have announced details of their upcoming third studio album! Hailing from Brisbane, Captain Gregnarr and his fearsome band of buccaneers have gained the envious reputation of being Australia’s premier pirate metal outfit, with multiple sold-out shows across their home country and several successful stints in Europe. Having secured a place on this year’s Sabaton Open Air and Wacken Open Air, the Lagerstein crew set sail once more with their upcoming studio offering ‘25/7’, promising a glittering treasure trove of twelve jaunty, colourful and undeniably boozy sea shanties. Serenading their love of rum, drunken parrots and drinking from shoes, ‘25/7’ will be a coveted keepsake for any self-disrespecting, yellow-toothed swashbuckler! Having hit the studio earlier this year to record in Sweden with world renowned producer Fredrik Nordström (Bring Me The Horizon, Arch Enemy, In Flames, Soilwork), Lagerstein’s upcoming album will be sliding into port on 23rd August 2019 via Kegstand Records. ‘25/7’ boasts traditionally seaworthy instrumentation scored with modern, distorted guitar work and coarse vocal outbursts that continues the seven-piece act’s legacy as one of the greatest "party bands" of modern metal. On the album’s title, the band offer a simple, effective and inspiring explanation:- "What could be better than partying for 24 hours? Sailing west and stealing an extra hour of daylight so we can party 25/7!" Lagerstein took to social media to confirm that the artwork of ‘25/7’ has been dug up from the deep ahead of the album’s summer release date. The "party pirates" are also currently engaged on their huge "Endless Rum" Tour, which takes the band across Europe, UK and Australia, with plans to continue partying their way across the globe to share the fun and joy of the pirate’s life with landlubbers and sailors the world over! Banding together in Queensland, Australia, Lagerstein dreamed of being a pirate metal band on a never-ending voyage to rock stages, create catchy music and have the best time, all the time. In the 9 years since, the seven-piece act have become an emerging hit, equally well-known for their unmistakable brand of catchy party tunes and a hugely entertaining live show of legendary proportions. Violinist Mother Junkst says:- "Originally we simply wanted to play in a band where we’d have beer bongs on stage. Something fun, silly but with awesomely catchy songs. With time this became something much more. We didn’t choose the pirates life, but it turns out we are perfect for it!" Pre-orders for ‘25/7’ and more details on the album will be available soon. Tickets for Lagerstein’s ‘Endless Rum’ tour can be purchased directly from the band’s website.

Repent, the end is near, and sonic hell is soon to be unleashed again with eight new, ungodly anthems to death and extinction - Płock, Poland based Kingdom return with "Rotting Carcass Arise upon the Burial Mound". No fallacy, no poseur, no post-isms, just pure epitome of death metal, with a bunch of its unrelenting disciples bowing and paying homage to the ancient godz ov war, blasphemy and death! Gnarly and ghastly, putrid, grinding and crushing, pummelling and bone-breaking, devastating metal of death, surpassing everything the horde have released to date. Plus, as 'tradition' has it, a cover - Kingdom's take on Samael's "Baphomet's Throne". No cross unturned, no prisoner taken, just sonically lobotomised and mutilated bodies piling up a burial mound... STH reveals the message of the new opus:- "And I looked, and beheld a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And I saw, and beheld a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer. We are Kingdom. We speak Death!" "Rotting Carcass Arise upon the Burial Mound" is scheduled for a release on 6th June 2019 as standard jewel case CD with a twelve-page booklet and in digital formats through Godz Ov War Productions. One of Finland's hottest newcomers, Excuse began to make a name for themselves with their EP Goddess Injustice. Released to critical acclaim in 2016 by Shadow Kingdom, Goddess Injustice largely introduced the fierce foursome to the international metal underground - with a nuclear-powered bang! A finely honed missile of speed metal majesty, Excuse's sound on that EP in many ways recalled the classic Canadian gods Sacrifice and Razor, but there were hints of greater glories to come. And at last, they've arrived with the presciently titled Prophets From the Occultic Cosmos. Whereas Goddess Injustice suggested some darkly melodic leanings, Excuse's first full-length expands that arsenal considerably. Here, the six songs comprising Prophets From the Occultic Cosmos stretch out to epic lengths - one even hitting double digits, the climactic 10-minute closer "Watchtower of the Trans-Dimensional Pathway" - and take the listener on a wild, winding ride. The evil 'n' sleazy surge on which Excuse made their name still exists, but has now been subjected to finesse, resulting in a wholly more dynamic beast, able to reflect haunting moodiness and spacey horror alike. Suitably, co-guitarist Oskar Lindström's vocals have a conspicuous amount of echo placed upon them, suggesting the inter-dimensional struggles of a narrator literally lost in space. Likewise, fellow guitarist Anselmi Ahopalo's leads take centre stage here and weave an almost storytelling aspect, much in the way that classic heavy metal songwriting should, evoking both triumph and tragedy but remaining equally hummable throughout. Completing the totality is album's production, which locates the perfect balance between grit and gleam. So many young bands blow their proverbial wad during the demo/EP days and peter out by the time their debut album comes. Not so for Excuse, who have been able to transform their earlier youthful energy into enviably advanced maturity with Prophets From the Occultic Cosmos. Behold these Prophets' coming! The first herald of that coming is the previously revealed video for "Sworn to the Crimson Oath" HERE. Also hear that track HERE at Shadow Kingdom's Bandcamp, where the album can also be pre-ordered. Frontman Nolan Lewis comments on the track:- "Horns up headbangers! Bust out the spikes and whip out those bullet belts. Coming at you like a leather studded nuclear bomb is the blazing title track off the brand new album, Afterburner. This is the bastard child of Judas Priest and Motorhead at their devastating best, so crank the volume to 11 and kiss your neck goodbye. It's fast, it's furious, it's metal and it sure as hell doesn't fuck around. Time to succumb to the fury of the Afterburner!" Greek black metal vanguard Funeral Storm stream the entirety of their highly anticipated debut album, Arcane Mysteries, at Decibel magazine's website. The album is set for international release on May 31st via Hells Headbangers for the CD format; the vinyl LP version will follow later this year. Featuring members from Hellenic scene legends Varathron, Funeral Storm deliver truly ancient - and truly authentic - Greek black metal in the most classic early '90s style, full of mysticism and might. Hear Funeral Storm's Arcane Mysteries in its entirety exclusively HERE. Funeral Storm was formed in 2001 by Wampyrion Markhor Necrowolf under the name Raven Throne as a one-man-project. The name was later changed for legal reasons, and after several changes, the moniker Funeral Storm was chosen. Lyrical themes were set early on, and are heavily inspired by occultism, legends, myths, evil, mysteries, horror, and the Cthulhu mythos. After several line-up changes and one live show, Wampyrion decided to stop any activities concerning the band until 2012, where he released a digital split with Mortuus Sum and a six-way split on tape format with Human Serpent, Thaer Os Valael, Opus Magorum, Silent Dominion, and Varg Order a year later under his label Abyssic Black Cult Records. Funeral Storm were active again with the addition of members of Serpent Path. In 2016, Mercyful Hell Productions released a compilation with songs that cover most of the years of Funeral Storm that were never actually released. In the meantime, Wampyrion decided to change the sound of the band, now fully inspired by '90s Greek black metal. Nick Christogiannis of Deviser and Necroabyssious of Varathron/Katavasia/Zaratus then joined as fulltime members. With this line-up, Funeral Storm released a split in early 2017 with Celestial Rite entitled Funeral Rite with Eskarth of Agatus performing acoustic guitars and a solo on the song "Martyr Of The Lake." Reaping international acclaim, Funeral Rite was released on 12" vinyl and CD formats by Iron Bonehead, while Mercyful Hell released the tape format. Since signing with Hells Headbangers, Funeral Storm added Arcania (Aherusia) on guitars while Christogiannis departed, and the band promptly set to work on their first full-length record. Ever aptly titled Arcane Mysteries, the album proudly and poignantly delivers 43 minutes of atmospheric tartaric black metal in the vein of the old Hellenic scene, inspired by sorcery, magic, and myths. Indeed, Funeral Storm are ancient souls, eschewing the nowadays trends of dissonant non-songwriting and cavernous obfuscation in favour of traditionally epic and dynamic songcraft, reverent to the old Hellenic gods whilst forging terrain all their own, all wrapped in a robust production that powerfully captures the trio's overt physicality - and indeed, THAT classic pulse. Arcane Mysteries is truly a record that brims with a timeless atmosphere - truly, one of arcane mysteries - and safely avoids lazy "throwback status" due to the inclusion of scene veteran Necroabyssious on vocals and the era-authentic, ever-mystical synths, handled by both Wampyrion and Arcania. In short, it's an album more than worthy of the legendary early '90s wave of Greek black metal. To further underline those classic ties, Arcane Mysteries features two special guests: Eskarth of fellow Hells Headbangers labelmates Agatus performed the solo and acoustic guitars on "Martyr of the Lake," and The Magus of Necromantia / Prinicipality Of Hell composed, recorded, mixed, and mastered "Wandering Through The Abyss." Completed by awe-inspiring cover artwork courtesy of Markus Vesper (Denial of God, Manilla Road, Attic), Funeral Storm triumphantly prove that the past is alive...in fact, more than ever! "Walk Amongst Rebels" is about survival and overcoming what life throws at you. After dealing with the loss of his home, job, loved ones, and relationship in a short span. Dr Magic, founder/vocalist of Syd.31 explains what went into the making of the album.. "This is my first biographical album, true stories based on horrible situations I’ve faced, every time I thought my entire world was ending. I’ve gone back to all the bands I was in love with during these times to re-live the sounds and feel of those punk and metal anthems that got me through it. Its messy, I cry during takes and made myself sick, but I love every moment. I want others to feel their trauma through this album and realise everything is gonna be OK, that whatever is thrown at you." Featuring nasty guitar riffs, stomping beats, and filthy basslines, "Walk Amongst Rebels" incites anger, duress, and civil disobedience. Syd.31 is a project formed by front man and producer Dr Magic as a showcase for his songwriting and a desire to create an exciting sound that he would love to watch. Bored of paying big bucks to watch formulaic bands; he decided to merge his love of hardcore punk, industrial metal and sickly sweet pop music to create angry, powerful anthems design to connect with freaks, weirdos and outsiders. Armed with a punk vitriol, a rock ‘n roll swagger and backed by feral stage crew, Syd.31 is now set to make waves in the US after smashing the UK. Set for international release on June 3rd via Seance Records for the definitive, worldwide edition, hear Black Crucifixion’s Lightless Violent Chaos in its entirety exclusively HERE. Forming in the dark days of 1991, Black Crucifixion have long been a revered name in the Finnish black metal scene. From their beginnings through today, the band’s work has been a pillar of challenging magnificence: always with an immediately identifiable sound, but always evolving and surprising, taking the true heart of black metal - boundless freedom, unfettered unorthodoxy - and casting dazzling new shapes with it whilst honouring its original essence. And amidst an already sterling, supremely cult catalog do Black Crucifixion reach its apotheosis with Lightless Violent Chaos. A true "dark horse" if there ever was one, Lightless Violent Chaos had its preliminary release as a limited edition in the band's homeland in 2018, and the album has not been available outside Finland. Long-time fans Séance Records – who worked with the band for the international edition of their third album, 2015's Coronation of King Darkness – are now proud to give Black Crucifixion's Lightless Violent Chaos the worldwide OFFICIAL release outside the Nordics. "Nowadays music sounds like it was written and produced in McDonald’s – by the people who work there. We instead wanted to create an album that evokes the horror of being less than a whisper in the time-defying roar of the cosmos." So says the band of Lightless Violent Chaos. Ever aptly titled, Black Crucifixion's fourth album creates a sonic and lyrical journey that should be experienced by the most adherent supporters of cult black metal as well as fans of progressive rock and ambient atmospheres. And as was the case with the critically acclaimed Coronation of King Darkness, the Finnish prog rock legend Rekku Rechardt again features as lead and rhythm guitarist on Lightless Violent Chaos. Since their 1991-recorded debut EP, The Fallen One Of Flames, Black Crucifixion have been delivering their unique brand of black metal in a manner that cannot be mistaken for anyone else. Although never as heralded as their contemporaneous countrymen like Beherit, Impaled Nazarene, and Archgoat, there’s a reason why more well-known bands like Primordial dedicate songs to Black Crucifixion. Always the mavericks, Black Crucifixion's Lightless Violent Chaos was designed to be listened as one piece. As a result, its length coincidentally matches Pink Floyd's The Dark Side of the Moon - "a fact that we realized just when finishing the mixing," says long-time bassist E. Henrik. The band’s songwriting has been admired by many, but it has even improved on Lightless Violent Chaos. And yet, the album and its production are loyal to their original roots, as even the Stratocaster from The Fallen One of Flames sessions was employed in the recording. It can be said that everything that was good in recording technology in the early '90s is present on this magnum opus of Black Crucifixion. Indeed, such is the most endearing aspect of this long-cult band: the skilful balance of tradition and transcendence, purity and progressiveness, darkness and its underside. Finally shall Lightless Violent Chaos see the esteemed treatment it so rightfully deserves! The year 2018 has seen him return to his old name (but now with the article) The Inferate. The Inferate is now starting the production of it’s new music oriented toward rock and metal. In support of this, he uses online communication tools for music creation based in Bolivia.
