Chile's premier thrash band Ripper and Toilet Ov Hell have joined forces to premiere the band's newest EP, Sensory Stagnation. The stream comes just days ahead of the EP's official release next week on Unspeakable Axe Records.

Check out Sensory Stagnation now at this location.

Sensory Stagnation is coming September 30th on CD, cassette and digital platforms from Unspeakable Axe Records, with a vinyl release to follow from Dark Descent Records. Pre-orders are available at unspeakableaxerecords.bandcamp.com/album/sensory-stagnation

1) Dissociation
2) The Unreal
3) Sensory Stagnation
4) Like A Sacrilege
5) Terror Streets

The high-speed thrashing and intricate riffs are still there, as well as the philosophical lyrics and incomprehensibly good bass work. But the band has leaned a little further into their progressive influences, with a more pronounced presence of Atheist riding shotgun with their usual Teutonic and South American thrash forerunners. The result is an outing that feels rich despite a run time of roughly 20 minutes, loaded with some of the band's best playing and most fascinating ideas to date.

RIPPER is:

Nicolás Villanueva - Drums
Venus Torment - Guitar /Vocals
Pablo Cortés - Bass
Daniel Poblete - Guitars

American Metalcore mob Oh, Sleeper premiere live video for "Decimation & Burial" via Metal Insider

American metalcore band, Oh, Sleeper, is exclusively premiering a live video for "Decimation & Burial" via Metal Insider today. Give it a watch here. The song comes off of their fourth full-length album Bloodied/Unbowed, released a few months back via Solid State Records. The record is now available across streaming services including Spotify, Apple Music, and more: http://solidstate.lnk.to/sleeper. Physical copies are available for purchase at https://ohsleeper.merchnow.com/.

Bloodied/Unbowed is the band's first full-length record in almost a decade. The album follows the concept of their previous release, The Titan, and is laid out like a book - every song a chapter in the story from start to finish. It follows two characters as they suffer cataclysmic changes, forcing them apart and through their own personal crucibles before finding their way back to each other bloodied, but unbowed, determined to grow to be what they were born to be.

On the album, lead vocalist Micah Kinard shares:-

"Bloodied/Unbowed is our most mature effort yet, encapsulating the turbulence of the last six years and near-break-up of the band. We've never spent more time writing, scrapping, re-writing, and perfecting an album in our history as a band and we couldn't be more proud of it. This is proof that we can and will continue, not just as we were, but better than we've ever been."

Oh, Sleeper is an American metalcore band that forged themselves in 2006, creating a dark tech-metal sound that would define the genre for years to come with pioneering guitar work, captivating lyrics, soaring vocals, and devastating breakdowns. In over a decade's span, Oh, Sleeper has  released three full-length albums (Solid State Records), 2 EPs, and toured world-wide alongside genre giants Bring Me The Horizon, Underoath, August Burns Red, Every Time I Die, The Devil Wears Prada and many more. After independently releasing their EP The Titan and being featured on the full Vans Warped Tour in 2013, Oh, Sleeper took a step back to allow clean vocalist and lead guitarist  Shane Blay to form California based rock/metal band Wovenwar with members of fellow American metalcore act, As I Lay Dying.

Bloodied/Unbowedis available now.

Oh Sleeper is:-

Micah Kinard (vocals)
Shane Bay (guitar/vocals)
Zac Mayfield (drums).

Guernsey's (Channel Islands) Doomsters Byzanthian Neckbeard stream new EP

Byzanthian Neckbeard are now streaming the entirety of their new EP Extinction via Doomed and Stoned. The EP is set to be released this Friday.

Listen to the EP here:  https://doomedandstoned.com/post/187942400263/byzanthianneckbeard

Some bands quite simply embody their name in every shape and form, and when it comes to Byzanthian Neckbeard... you get the picture quickly. Riff-laden doom is on offer on this follow-up EP, after their début From the Clutches of Oblivion took them out of their native Guernsey and straight onto the New Blood Stage at UK’s Bloodstock Festival.

Extinction takes a while to limber up, but once “Coffin Bomb” gets into the swing of things, the trio put on a no-punches-pulled performance across each of the three tracks. Phil Skyrme’s guttural vocals match up to the rough-and-fuzzy riffing, matched perfectly to Dan Robilliard’s muscular bass playing and Paul Etasse’s precise and groove-driven drumming. “Extinction” takes us out with a seven-minute stomper.

Thus the EP ends, ready to be looped again until more material emerges from the island-bound miscreants who go by the name of Byzanthian Neckbeard.

Venezuelan Raw Blackened Death / Doom unit Cthonica premiere new track at MetalInjection.net

27/9/2019

Venezuelan blackened raw death-doom abomination Cthonica premiere the new track "Act I: The Chalice" at heavily trafficked web-portal MetalInjection.net. The track hails from the band's horrific debut album, Typhomanteia: Sacred Triarchy of Spiritual Putrefaction, which will be released internationally on October 25th by Clavis Secretorvm in conspiracy with both Sentient Ruin and Caligari Records: Clavis Secretorvm will handle the European CD, double-vinyl, and digital formats; Sentient Ruin will handle the North American double-vinyl and digital formats, while Caligari Records will handle the cassette tape version. Hear Cthonica's "Act I: The Chalice" in its entirety exclusively HERE.

On Typhomanteia: Sacred Triarchy of Spiritual Putrefaction, Cthonica unravel almost an hour of blood-curling and slithering ritualistic aural terror the hideousness and repulsiveness of which has rarely been seen on this earth. Converging somewhere in the middle between the agonizing and pummelling death-doom of Incantation and Disembowelment and the twisted and serpentine blackened chaos of bands like Beherit, Blasphemy, Portal, and Teitanblood and adding hazy layers of purulent noise and sepulchral dark ambient murk to further disfigure their abhorrent creation, Cthonica have crossed a new threshold in extreme metal horror, setting an entirely new standard of sonic inversion with their raw and decaying sound, and taking the glorification and worship of death and perversion to an entire new realm of conceptual and audial atrocity.

Raw blackened death-doom plague Cthonica began in Caracas, Venezuela, back in 2016 (formed by D.V. on guitars, bass, and drums, and H.K. handling vocals, noise, and electronics, lyrics, and concepts), rising from the ashes of a previous incarnation of the project called Okkvlt. Cthonica is, and likely always will be, a proudly home-recorded project: both for necessity due to the precarious access to resources in the tumultuous Venezuelan society and general lack of most things out there, and for the complete refusal by the core duo behind the project to compromise or embrace standardized and commonly acceptable creation processes. As such, Cthonica's existence will likely always be one of near-complete lack and isolation, a state and condition which has perhaps made certain aspects of their art even more violent, defiant, and abominable. That of Cthonica appears to be an existence of evolved regression, where a state of isolation, lack, and primitivism has evolved aberrantly, and created fertile conditions for the development of deviant and feral art forms. Regarding this aspect of their creation process, the band has stated that:-

"We are a home-made recording project because we are oblivious to so-called professional hi-fi techniques and firmly believe that the approach of basic and primitive resources keeps us on the line of what we want."

Picture
1. Act I: The Chalice
2. Act II: The Verb
3. Act III: The Lantern
4. Act IV: Nor the deadliest disease shall be
compared to this showcase of glory ...
5. Act V: …for the children of he who lurks beyond
shall not witness this showcase of glory…
6. Act VI: …not as those who served and preached in obeisance
7. Act VII: Ω De Derelictum Domum Sacrorum

Lyrically, musically, and conceptually, Cthonica are focused on expressing the abyss within every human life, not (only) through the classic but overused Nietzschean cliché, but also and mostly as a Tehomic-Typhonian metamorphosis of every man's reason through what they call "spiritual putrefaction," or the progressive human corruption through the guidelines of opprobrious disciplines and their teachings, a concept which has shaped and defined the band’s abhorrent debut album,  Typhomanteia: Sacred Triarchy of Spiritual Putrefaction.

Swedish Sludge Metallers Pyramido stream entirety of new album

Swedish sludge band Pyramido are now streaming the entirety of their new album "Fem" in full via Ghost Cult Magazine. The album will be released tomorrow via The Sign Records.

Listen to the album in full here: http://ghostcultmag.com/exclusive-album-stream-pyramido-fem/

Picture

Pyramido was formed in the southern Swedish city of Malmö in 2006. Five different individuals getting together, sharing a common passion for heavy, distorted and slowed down music...  Suddenly these people seem to be getting together every week. Songs are starting to take shape and these five are slowly transforming into one musical being.  With a new name, Pyramido, they are now a band with dreams of touring and releasing music.  Since then this collective of friends has released four full-length records, a number of EPs, and played every dark and damp squat of Europe you might imagine.

In the early days of Pyramido’s existence, the band played a generic take on sludge/doom metal with influences too obvious to mention.  Over the years, Pyramido has steadily evolved, eventually becoming the more diverse and not so anxious -- the band you see today.  This transformation started to show on the bands third record, Saga, making a more permanent mark on the 2016 follow up, Vatten, on which the influences from the band members' combined passion for music of all kind started to make its way into Pyramido’s rusty soundscape.

The brand new album, entitled simply Fem, which is Swedish for the number five, was recorded and mixed during the fall of 2018, with engineer John Rönnerblad.  Written over the course of a few years, Pyramido has taken the time to let the new material breathe and evolve naturally, not being afraid to try new tempos, melodies, and ideas sometimes foreign to the genre. Drawing inspiration from the delicate melodic figures of dreamy 90’s indie rock, the folky fuzz of vintage Swedish psychedelia, and the bittersweet harmonies of Henrik Berggren and Broder Daniel.  Then imagine these influences being suffocated by the impact of the heaviness and aggression that is Pyramido, leaving only about a few percent of them passably breathing. The result is a somewhat heavy-hearted and melodic sludge metal/hardcore attack, once perfectly described as "…a warm hug rather than a punch in the face."

With Pyramido you won’t get the usual macho, congregating-at-a-sacrificial-altar- doing-bonghits-with-Satan-while-worshipping-riffs-and-watching-vintage-biker-flicks-bullshit-shtick that is commonly represented when describing this kind of music. What you will get though is honest, soulful, yet aggressive and crushingly heavy music with strong roots in DIY culture and lyrics dealing with the struggles of everyday life and a desperate hope for social change.

Second To Sun mastermind Vladimir Lentinen had this to say about the forthcoming album:

"I'm proud to present you our new album named Legacy, which is even more aggressive and heavier than previous one, but still retains the melodic, hypnotic and cinematic qualities of its predecessor. Legacy is logically divided into three ideological arches: one dedicated to social solitude; an occult part, which is closely intertwined with actual historical events, and a traditional part of our music, which is based on culture of the Finno-Ugric people.

We see it as a trilogy unified by a sole idea, which was earlier dubbed as social-decay black metal. All tracks are undoubtedly our legacy, which is the foundation of our album's name.Brilliant artwork for both versions of the release, created by Denis 'Forkas' Kostromitin, who also worked with such bands like Behemoth and Children of Bodom.

We live in incredible times, when a band like our can exist without support from the psychopathic musical industry and short-lived trends. Our music simply exists because there are people, who listen to it. Thank you for your attention and support."

Raw, untamed, powerful, and precise are the best ways to describe Archangel A.D., a youthful band that  channels the classic aggression and songwriting of the Big 4 with a modern sensibility. Formed in 2015, the band is currently touring across Texas and looking forward to hitting the national stage; they have  performed with national/international and Texas-based metal acts including Adrenaline Mob, Bobaflex, EYEHATEGOD, Methedras, Paralysis, Cerebral Desecration, Confused, Panteon, Overt Enemy, Pig Weed, Violent Vendetta, Ratchet Dolls and dozens of local bands, playing their hearts out and earning new fans at every show.

Following   several demos, EPs, and splits, Archangel A.D. is now preparing to release their new single Eventide on September 23rd.  If Eventide's ferocious riffage doesn't take these young thrashers to heavenly heights, it should at least get them out of Texas.

Northern Irish Doomsters The Crawling release new video; tour dates  announced

24/9/2019

Picture

Doom metal band The Crawling have just released a video for their song "Still No Sun". The song is from their album Wolves and the Hideous White which was released last year.

The band commented:-

"The urge to belong can be overwhelming, and we often sacrifice parts of ourselves to be with others. Still No Sun explores the failing of relations through the eyes of one who knows it should end, despite the desperate urge to remain. The unearthing feelings of loneliness, and haunting images of a life in solitude can be blinding when it comes to logical thought. I often wonder if it is genuinely possible to deceive yourself completely, or is there always a part that knows, and is the relief of separation worth it?"

Watch the video here:   https://youtu.be/c7hKTRNo4uA

In addition the band is also pleased to announce some tour dates for this year.

TOUR DATES

12th Oct - Limerick, Dolans Warehouse
19th Oct - Belfast, The Limelight II

UK Tour w/ Tides of Sulfur

24th Oct - London, The Dev
25th Oct - Rotherham, Gizzardfest III
26th Oct - Swansea, The Bunkhouse
