Black Metallers Blodarv have inked a deal with the Dutch record label Soulseller Records for the release and world-wide distribution of the band's upcoming full-length album "The Illuminating Darkness" which will be available in CD, Digital and 12" Vinyl formats in 2019. Commenting on the decision to sign with Soulseller Records, Blodarv had this to say:- "We have to say that we are really looking forward to working with Soulseller - a cooperation that will greatly benefit both the band and the fans. Soulseller have proven themselves to be a label of some note with a great many quality releases over the years, and we are more than satisfied to be working with them on the upcoming album. One of the things that was very important to us was that this album should also be released on Vinyl. Not only because many of our fans prefer vinyl over other formats, but also because as soon as we had written the first track, we all felt that vinyl was where it belonged, and, as a consequence, the whole album was created with that particular medium in mind. Another aspect to signing with Soulseller was the availability issue. Up until now, once we had sold out of our releases at the official Blodarv store in Denmark it has been extremely difficult, not to mention very expensive, for our European fans and followers to get their hands on them. Ordering from Mexico, where our previous label and their distro were situated, meant that fans in Europe were hit with taxes, customs charges and prohibitive postal costs, whilst we ourselves could only stock a very small number, as all our releases had been limited to 1,000 copies. With Soulseller this will all change. There are, of course, a few more reasons why we are looking forward to this co operation, not least of which are trust, shared visions and goals, dedication, artistic freedom, and the excellent communication we have with Soulseller." More info about "The Illuminating Darkness" will be available soon, but in the meantime Blodarv recently gave fans an insight into what they could expect from the album by premiering the track “A dark trail of Death" which is available to stream or download at the following: Bandcamp : www.blodarv.bandcamp.com/track/a-dark-trail-of-death YouTube : www.youtube.com/watch?v=eMU5XMwyc28 Soundcloud : www.soundcloud.com/blodarv/a-dark-trail-of-death/s-FjszF www.blodarv.bandcamp.com www.blodarv.net www.facebook.com/blodarvofficial www.youtube.com/huginofblodarv www.soulsellerrecords.com https://soulsellerrecords.bandcamp.com https://soulsellerrecords.aisamerch.com

Serbian technical thrashers Quasarborn have just released their latest music video for the song Crash Course in Life, upon returning from their first ever European tour. This is the sixth entry in Quasraborn's videography, following five singles off their debut album: The Odyssey to Room 101, Danse Macabre, Escape into Reality, Château d'If and Blood Honey. "Crash Course in Life is about a young, careless, young metalhead who is struck by the cruelness of reality without any warning and forced to grow up. Responsibilities and pain of an adult pressure him in a way he can't handle. He feels a huge gap between what was the core of his identity and what he is today. This is just the first chapter in the album's story, then things start to heat up..." Formed back in 2014 by original members Scott Austin (vocals), Mark Innocent (lead guitar) and Drew Reilly (rhythm guitar), they set about creating the foundations of what would become the upcoming album release entitled Rise. In 2017, Carl Sheldrick joined the band on drums and soon after Jake Coles joined on bass guitar to complete the line up and make Reaper-X a reality. The completed group released their first single in 2017 entitled Fury In Flames online and as a physical copy which also included the bonus track entitled Reaper. The tracks laid the template for the Reaper-X sound consisting of fast riffs, melodic solos, and balls to the walls metal. With this the band had shown people what they were made of and planted the seed for what was to come. At the beginning of 2018, they went into Initiate Audio and Media to record what would be their best work to date. With Neil Hudson at the helm, they recorded a full album expressing a number of different styles of metal from hardcore to thrash and even a ballad to show how diverse they can be. The album Rise will be released worldwide via Sliptrick Records in 2019. The track hails from the band's critically acclaimed second album, Okeanos, released this past July via AOP Records. See & hear Firtan's "Nacht Verweil" video in its entirety exclusively HERE. Firtan are one of Germany's most uprising extreme metal acts, delivering their very own mixture of styles to fans all over Europe since 2010. Having supported Rotting Christ, Imperium Dekadenz, and Der Weg einer Freiheit and played festivals like Summer Breeze and Metaldays, their sound originates from black metal involving atmospheric and progressive elements alongside intense vocal performances and accentuating ambient sounds. Firtan known for their intensive live shows, which, to date, they have delivered to ten European countries. Now, after two EPs and one full-length, Firtan hereby present their strongest work, Okeanos. Inspired by avant-garde intellectuals like Nietzsche and Lovecraft, Okeanos is a dazzling display of epic black metal grandeur, suffused with autumnal atmosphere and winding-yet-captivating compositions. But, although deeply rooted in black metal, the overt muscle Firtan display here - not to mention the panoramic approach to songwriting, daring and boundless - helps Okeanos elude easy categorization. It's an immediately captivating experience, expanding the listener's consciousness whilst whisking the listener away to worlds yet unexplored. And its sound-field is as robust as it is majestic, which is no surprise considering it was recorded at the esteemed studio Klangschmiede E with Markus Stock of The Vision Bleak/Empyrium. At six songs in 40 breathtaking minutes, Okeanos is the album by which Firtan enter into the elite. Since their induction in 2016, they have been making their mark on Vancouver’s metal scene and beyond with cover videos along with singles "Ancient Heart" and "Space Mead". Set to unleash their debut album "Cosmonaut", a release loosely based on themes from stories by H.P. Lovecraft and others, the band is ready to be reveal on Bravewords.com their new lyric video for their next single "The Esoteric Order". "Cosmonaut" will be released on November 16th and available on all major digital platforms. Check out "The Esoteric Order" at the following link: http://bravewords.com/news/exclusive-kosm-premiere-the-esoteric-order-lyric-video The band explains "Cosmonaut": "Cosmonaut is a concept album loosely based on the weird-fiction of HP Lovecraft, and borrowing concepts from the science-fiction of Frank Herbert, and Roger Zelazny. The album follows a cosmonaut on a cosmic journey through time and space; from the earthly confines of mortal life, to ascendancy as an immaterial and omnipotent being. The cosmonaut's journey is essentially symbolic, serving as a commentary on the human experience: a journey from confusion and anger, to transcendence and self-understanding." And the story behind the track "The Esoteric Order": "The cosmonaut finds themselves marooned at a monastery in the stars. This monastery is of the Esoteric Order. They offer the space mead as a means to push forwards. The cosmonaut initially refuses, hoping to avoid the mind-altering properties of the mead, but ultimately accepts, realizing there is no other way forward." With even more material in the works and future albums planned, KOSM summons you to join them on this journey full of experimental and progressive metal. For those in the Vancouver area, KOSM will be hosting their CD release concert at Pub 340 on Saturday, November 17th with local support from OmnisighT, Truent, and Opus Arise. Event info here. Featuring the band's original line-up introduced on their 1999 platinum-selling debut full-length album, Wisconsin Death Trip, bassist Tony Campos, guitarist Koichi Fukuda and drummer Ken Jay have joined forces once again to release a new album, Project Regeneration. The album, set for release in spring 2019, will be released in conjunction with a world tour to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Wisconsin Death Trip. The band plans to perform the majority of their debut album at each show. Headline dates will serve as memorial events to honour late frontman Wayne Static, who passed away on November 1, 2014. More information on the world tour and other dates will be coming soon. The band has cultivated a treasure chest of vocal performances and musical compositions left behind by Wayne. Along with the help of Static-X 's long-time producer Ulrich Wild, the band is in the process of completing their seventh studio album, which will feature between 12 and 15 brand new Static-X tracks. "With the 20th anniversary of Wisconsin Death Trip quickly approaching, it feels like the right time to pay our respects to the band, to Wayne, and to all the fans who have been with us right from the start. We had a lot of material to work with... several demos that Wayne left behind, as well as some really great isolated vocal performances from some nearly finished songs. Together, we have been writing and crafting something very special!" says bassist Tony Campos Check out a new teaser featuring clips from a brand new music video, as well as five new Static-X tracks - "Road To Hell", "Something Of My Own", "Terminator Oscillator", "Hollow" and "Disco Otsego" - along with a personal message from bassist Tony Campos about the inspiration behind Project Regeneration now at www.static-x.org. For the unfinished tracks, the band is inviting several of their friends to lend their voices for the completion of this very personal project. "We have confirmed interest from our friends David Draiman, Ivan Moody, Al Jorgensen, Dez Fafara, Edsel Dope, Burton C Bell, and a few others," says Campos. "Unfortunately, due to everyone's crazy schedules, it is a little early to know how things will shake out. We are more than confident that the album will have some incredible guest vocalists, but it should be noted that it is still too early to count anyone in 100%." The guest vocalist curation process is being led by none other than SiriusXM programming pioneer Jose Mangin, who is working alongside the band as one of the executive producers for Project Regeneration. Static-X has created a pre-order campaign allowing fans who purchase Project Regeneration in advance to have their name appear in the liner notes of the new album. Additional special pre-order package options are also available, including Project Regeneration merch bundles and several old school Static-X merch items to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Wisconsin Death Trip. Pre-orders are available via www.static-x.org. "This is a celebration of Static-X Wisconsin Death Trip, Wayne Static, and all of our fans," adds Campos. "We are very excited about what we have created, so we wanted to involve the fans early, and in a campaign sort of way, so that they can participate with us and help to dictate some of the things that we do." "Reuniting with the guys has been an amazing experience," says drummer Ken Jay. "It's been so much fun sharing stories and working on new music together. Obviously, it is bittersweet because we all miss Wayne and we wish that he was here with us, doing what he did best... Evil Disco..." "I am so excited to play Static-X songs live again," says guitarist Koichi Fukuda. "The Static-X sound is so big and powerful live! I can't wait to play songs like "Bled For Days", "Push It" and "I'm With Stupid" again." Static-X plans to do multiple video updates and a series of Facebook Live chats over the next few months in order to keep the fans involved as the process continues to unfold. "We feel very grateful that we have such a loyal fan base that misses the band, and misses Wayne, and I know that Wayne would appreciate all the heart and effort that we are putting into this," says Tony Campos. "I've had some very heartfelt discussions with Wayne's family about doing this. They were very touched by the amount of love and effort that we have put into this new album and they have given us their full support. Having the blessing of Wayne's family means the world to us! I know in my heart that Wayne would be very proud! Stay tuned for more Project Regeneration and world tour details coming soon! www.static-x.org www.facebook.com/staticx/ Twitter: @officialstaticx Instagram: @staticxofficial Through their unique and heavy sound and over the top live performances, the Ukraine-based band Jinjer have quickly become one of the most talked about names in the heavy metal landscape today. Hailed by Loudwire as “Technical, Groovy and Anthemic,” Jinjer have cemented this status even more with the release of their new single entitled “Ape.” The single is available for purchase and streaming HERE. Watch the video for “Ape” HERE. Bassist Euge Kostyuk comments on the new song “Ape” "It's been two years since we have released new material, and it was high time to bring something brand new to the table. By last Spring we collected a bunch of musical ideas which we eagerly wanted to turn into songs, in other words we really had something to say with our music. So here you are! This Fall is the season of Jinjer.” Since the release of 2016’s “King of Everything”, Jinjer’s groundbreaking second album “Cloud Factory” was re-issued in February 2018, both via Napalm Records. www.facebook.com/JinjerOfficial Sun & Moon Records have set December 17th as the international release date for a special new EP from sonic iconoclasts Svoid fittingly titled Spiral Dance. For nearly a decade now, this Hungarian duo have defied conventions and followed their singular muse, no matter the stylistic definition nor easy categorization. The band's base began in black metal, but a open-ended and spiritual sort; from there, Svoid decided to integrate whatever felt necessary to express that muse, each step strategic yet unselfconscious. It all culminated with dark 'n' dazzling second album, Storming Voices of Inner Devotion, in 2016. Ever aptly titled, that album looked ahead of the curve and pushed a poignant synthesis of post-punk and black metal. Now, the post-punk influence steps forward even more on the four-song Spiral Dance. In an alternate universe, each of these four understated anthems would be a radio hit...if the radio station existed in a post-apocalyptic cityscape. Both mystically bewitching like Budapest and monochromatically bewildering like Berlin, Spiral Dance is the new, Now sound of Svoid, stark and austere in its nightlife sheen but exposing a more vulnerable underbelly to urban grim. Will you dance/dance/dance to this radio? Begin the Spiral Dance with the new track "The Very Hours" HERE at Sun & Moon's Soundcloud. www.facebook.com/svoidofficial www.sunandmoonrecords.com www.facebook.com/sunandmoonrecordstransylvania A progressive metal act from Finland, External, released a new music video for the song ”Parasight”. The video combines one-shot material of the band playing with the current trend of a lyric video. The production was voluntary work by a dear friend of the band, Roger Lundberg. The song is from External’s diverse debut album ”The Blurry Horizon” released at the end of summer. Musically, ”Parasight” represents the most complex depths of the album, playing with a heavily syncopated rhythmic motif. As a counterweight to the complexity, the song offers a powerful chorus and some memorable melodies. Lyrically, the song discusses how social media can manipulate our reality – As we obsessively try to give the most perfect impression of ourselves, we may lose touch of our true selves and what it actually is to be human. Originally created as a one man project by Casey Hurd, who solely wrote and recorded the "Endless" demo/EP. Casey and crew has moulded Hinayana into the full fledge Death/Doom monster it is today and it now ranks as the hardest hitting band around the thrash lands of Texas. With a fresh album out, Hinayana took the world with storm with their debut album “Order Divine” that was released earlier this summer. Constantly playing live and opening for great acts such as Carach Angren, Wolfheart, Mors Principium Est and many more, together with a successful debut album that quickly spread through the scene like fire, the band is now getting ready to take over the world. Black Lion will be reissuing their debut album “Order Divine” (CD/Digital and other secret formats) in 2018 and 2019 , the band is currently working on a new EP expected to see the light sometime in next year. More exciting new shows and a first European festival already on the way, ready to be announced shortly. Black Lion comments: “We are beyond excited to be able to work together with Hinayana! Upon discovering the band in early 2018, we were blown away by the massive sound and the professionalism that the band presented, both visually and sonically. Hinayana comments: “We are proud to announce partnership with Black Lion Records of Sweden! We are very proud to be a part of the Black Lion family and to be working so closely with people who believe in us. We’d like to thank Oliver Dahlback for giving us this opportunity, we look forward to the many amazing things that will inevitably follow from this partnership!” After getting to know the band and having the opportunity to talk things through over the summer, we are pleased to finally be able to announce the collaboration between Hinayana and Black Lion. https://Facebook.com/hinayanamusic https://hinayanablacklion.bandcamp.com/ |
