Ireland's Coscradh stream Invictus debut EP via Decibel online

21/11/2017

Black / Death mavericks Coscradh stream the entirety of their highly anticipated new EP, Of Death and Delirium, at Decibel magazine's website. Set for international release on November 24th via Invictus Productions, hear Coscradh's Of Death and Delirium in its entirety exclusively HERE.

Just last year, Invictus unfurled Coscradh's self-titled debut demo, which subsequently went on to reap international acclaim. Here, Coscradh presented a new revelation in the Irish black/death metal underground, and yet another extremely promising newcomer fostered by Invictus. An auspicious start, with its ever-swarming sensation of hideousness and eldritch dread, but along comes Of Death and Delirium to eclipse that.

Every element of Of Death and Delirium takes its predecessor to more extreme lengths. Playing, production, songwriting, atmosphere: verily, this is the severest Metal of Death given fuller flight and more far flung into the great abyss. Gnarled and gnawing, possessive of a molten muscularity that always threatens to explode into chaos, Coscradh now finesse their towering creations with a keen attention to nuance; underneath, the primordial waters of time eternal swirl ever more dangerously and direly. Spewing forth three despair-ridden odes to suffering, violence, and madness, Of Death and Delirium confesses a cacophony of death metal majesty that soundtracks horrors seen and unseen - and within, Coscradh stand intrepid, in control but fatefully locked into a state of primal psychosis.

Titled truly, as both manifesto and momentum, Of Death and Delirium is Coscradh's first grand strike upon the world stage. Feel its entire wrath exclusively HERE, courtesy of Decibel, North America's only monthly metal magazine.

Chile's Lucifer's Hammer streams new EP via Decibel's website

18/11/2017

Picture

Heavy metal cult Lucifer's Hammer stream the entirety of their highly anticipated new mini-album, Victory is Mine, at Decibel magazine's website. Shadow Kingdom Records shall be releasing it on November 24th for the CD and cassette tape formats, while the 12" vinyl version shall be released on December 29th. Hear Lucifer's Hammer's Victory is Mine in its entirety exclusively HERE.

Aptly titled, Victory is Mine follows soon after the widespread critical acclaim afforded last year's Beyond the Omens debut full-length, further proving that this Chilean heavy metal force simply cannot be stopped! But here, on Victory is Mine, Lucifer's Hammer show more sides to their enviable arsenal and go down a darker path. Where Beyond the Omens burst forth with a brightness that could've come from radio metal circa 1984, Victory is Mine explodes with an immediacy that's moodier and more epic. Still well within the realm of classic, post-NWOBHM heavy metal, here Lucifer's Hammer deliver four winding epics that alternately pulse with steely passion and drift like lingering fog. Whereas Beyond the Omens could very well be their "party" record, Victory is Mine is more like the party's aftermath - and Lucifer's Hammer is guiding the revellers to the grave. But despite a subtly pronounced profusion of doom, Victory is Mine nevertheless retains the addicting energy for which the band became so beloved on their demo and debut album. For heavy metal is an eternal fight, and Victory is Mine!

Engage in that eternal fight in its entirety exclusively HERE, courtesy of Decibel, North America's only monthly metal magazine. Pre-order info for all three formats can be found HERE at Shadow Kingdom's Bandcamp.

Finland's Unshine set to release new album "Astrala" via Rockshots Records

18/11/2017

Rockshots Records is thrilled to announce the release of "Astrala", fourth album of the folk metal band Unshine

Hailing from Finland, Unshine stepped into the whole new level of co-operation with the initial forces of the nature.

A teaser of "Astrala" is available at the following link: https://youtu.be/ScFgarXtoG4

2 - Kainun Kuningas
3 - Jack's Feast
4 - The Masks of Enchantment
5 - Pan the One
6 - Druids Are A-Coming
7 - Slow Moving Creatures
8 - Visionary's Last Breath
9 - Suo (Kantaa Ruumiit)
10 - The Forest

“Unshine has always been a band without the traditional role models. The most important thing in a song is the melody. Sounds and rhythms create the overall atmosphere, but the melody wakes up the whole ancient story in it to life",
tells Harri, Unshine guitarist behind the majority of the songs.

"Secondly, it all starts from the nature and it all will end to the nature. This cuts through all aspects of our music. It echoes from those landscapes the modern world has almost totally abandoned and forgotten. The songs try to re-unite the old bonds between the dolmen gods and the digitized mankind. Nature is not our enemy, it's our physical, but especially our spiritual home. That's why we call our music druid metal."

"Astrala" is set to be released on January 19, 2018 in Europe and February 9, 2018 in North America via Rockshots Records.

Portugal's The Ominous Circle premieres new video at Cvltnation.com

Portuguese death metal sect The Ominous Circle premiere a new video for "As the Worm Descends" at heavily trafficked web-portal CVLTNation.com. The track hails from the band's critically acclaimed debut album, Appalling Ascension, released earlier this year in Europe via Osmose Productions. See & hear The Ominous Circle's "As the Worm Descends" video in its entirety exclusively HERE.

Comprised of membership from the Blinding Light regions of Portugal, The Ominous Circle is a burning black sphere of sinuous torment taking shape over their native land. Appalling Ascension is their initiation into this upper physical world, undulating like a prophesied curse into the increasing chaos of modern "life." While the reverent tropes of nowadays death metal will be recognizable to 'Circle adherents, the cauldron is mixed in myriad conjurations that stray from the retreating safety inferior forces are prone to linger in. Moments of oppressive death doom, grinding blasts of mania, rancid melodies, and mid-tempo dynamic necromancy on tracks like "From Endless Chasms" and "As The Worm Descends" canonize these odious psalms into timeless lore.

The late obsession of some to ignore songwriting in favour of cavernous ambient suffocating "evil" doesn't play on Appalling Ascension - here instead, and most welcome, are crushing and barbarous dark death metal songs for initiates to devote themselves to, and to enter the pantheon of most memorable debut recordings. And in the fashion of the most auspicious horror, this is only the beginning. Devotees to the works of Dead Congregation, Teitanblood, Triumvir Foul, Immolation, Irkallian Oracle, Aevangelist, Sulphur Aeon, and similar devastation should make the album a priority, as have devotees worldwide earlier this year.

French Symphonic Death Metallers Gorgon release new single 'Ishassara'

18/11/2017

Picture

'Ishassara' is a short and tragic story written by Gorgon founder and vocalist Paul Thureau, taking place in ancient Crete: it's the story of a tortured man who has lived a life in pain, regrets and guilt, and who starts giving all his love and devotion to a goddess (Ishassara) asking her for peace of mind and soul.

Recorded at Hybreed Studios, produced by Jussi Kulomaa and mastered by Jaakko Viitalähde, ‘Ishassara’ is the first song released by the French band since 2016’s Titanomachy album and a track that is set to feature on the forthcoming full-length slated for release 2018.

Listen To 'Ishassara' Here!
https://youtu.be/5UgRrJNKIJs

Picture

Thureau elaborates more on the story, “This devotion to Ishassara turns quickly into an obsession: but the Goddess keeps on ignoring him and not listening his prayers, so his ritual turns every day more into occultism - loosing his mind, he starts mutilating and sacrificing his first-born son. Seeing that still nothing happens and feeling betrayed by the goddess, he burns the whole temple down, dying in its flames. 'Ishassara' is all about that thin line between faith, religion, fanaticism and insanity. To denounce religious fanatics that brainwash weak-minded people, into dangerous weapons.”

Ishassara is out now and available on all major download sites and streaming platforms.
