Finnish Blood Region released a new single and music video for a brand new track Warrior Heart. At the same time they announce a new singer Annika Jalkanen.

Watch the music video 'Warrior Heart' here: https://youtu.be/wisOQDDtqvU

Guitarist Mika says:-

"Warrior Heart is definately best from Blood Region music. With elements from Tales of the Backwoods album and new musical themes it offers amazing listening experience. Annika's voice gave a lot of fresh power and new page turns again in story. It's been great to work on this song with these wonderful and talented people. There is much good energy in this song, it's been fascinating to see this song grow from the start to this magical result."

Annika continues:

"We're old friends with Mika and he asked to sing this song. I really like previous Blood Region songs and believed this new one to be awesome track, so I agreed to join and sing. I have not sing Blood Region style music before, so it gave good challenges to my singing. One can say, it's been really creative and productive experience being out of the comfort zone in some degrees in my singing."

Icelandic Black Metallers Nyrst ink deal with Dark Essence Records

Dark Essence Records have announced today that they have welcomed Nyrst onto their roster and will be releasing the debut full-length album from the Icelandic Black Metallers  in 2020.

Formed in the winter of 2013, Nyrst released their first demo in 2016. The demo garnered praise for the band's use of diverse vocals and chilling atmosphere, whilst Nyrst's mystic and haunting stage performances have gained them respect as  a live band in the metal scene of their native Iceland

Today's line-up of Snæbjörn on vocals, guitarists Eysteinn and Davíð, Egill on bass and Sveinbjörn on drums, pays homage to the bands grim and icy Icelandic heritage by delivering a debut album that promises to be filled with a soundscape that is incredibly cold, stark and barren, whilst its lyrics come straight from old horror literature, laced with cosmic undertones.

Nyrst had this to say about their upcoming collaboration with Dark Essence Records:

"Nyrst are thrilled to announce that we have joined the Dark Essence Records roster to debut our first album. We draw huge inspiration from various artists on the label so we are extremely honoured to be able to work with this revered label."

Our trust lies with Dark Essence Records and we believe they are the perfect platform for us to grow and expand our music.

Multi-platinum quintet Bring Me The Horizon have received a GRAMMY award® nomination in the Best Rock Album category for their latest album amo, out now on RCA. This marks the band’s second nod from The Recording Academy following their Best Rock Song nomination last year for “MANTRA,” the lead single from the album.

The news comes on the heels of Bring Me The Horizon’s U.S. headlining “Threesome Tour” and brand new track “Ludens” which they contributed to Timefall, an album of new music inspired by the highly anticipated “Death Stranding” video game available on PlayStation 4.

Bring Me The Horizon is one of the most electrifying and successful rock bands to emerge from the UK. amo, was released earlier this year and was named as “one of the most anticipated albums of 2019” by Billboard and described by NME as “bold, brilliant and boundary-pushing.” “MANTRA,” was a Top 5 hit at Rock Radio and earned the multi-platinum-selling act its first-ever GRAMMY award® nomination for Best Rock Song. Bring Me The Horizon has spent 2019 touring the world in support of the critically acclaimed amo. The group has sold over 4 million albums globally to date, played sold-out shows in over 40 countries, including a sold out night at the Forum in Los Angeles and two sold out nights at London’s O2, wowed a traditionally non-rock crowd at Glastonbury Festival in 2016 and 2019 and stole the show at high profile festivals across Europe all summer. Evanescence release "The Chain", taken from the new game 'Gears 5'

23/11/2019

Picture

Transcendent, two-time GRAMMY® Award-winning metal band, Evanescence, has returned with their first new rock recording in eight years, “The Chain (From Gears 5).” Listen HERE. The band recorded their signature-rock version of the Fleetwood Mac classic following lead singer Amy Lee having lent her vocals to the launch trailer for the Xbox Game Studios’ Gears 5 for Xbox One, Windows 10, and Steam, from the massively popular Gears of War series. The spot aired as part of a multi-million-dollar ad campaign this fall in conjunction with the launch of the game. Watch it HERE. Gears 5 was Microsoft’s most successful video game launch since Halo 4 in 2012.

“The Chain” is the first release in what is expected to be a very active period for Evanescence. Following their critically acclaimed foray into symphonic music with 2017’s Synthesis album and world tour, the five-piece has re-emerged by embracing a heavier sound, albeit with their trademark style that has made Evanescence integral in establishing a global, critical mass in rock, and among the most unique artists of the millennium. The band is currently working on new original music, which will start rolling out in 2020 in advance of their next studio album. Stay tuned for more details to come.

“This cover was so fun to make. We love Fleetwood Mac and wanted to paint a dark and epic picture with our take on ‘The Chain,’” says Amy Lee. “The lyrics make me feel the power of standing together against great forces trying to pull us apart, perhaps even from the inside. I really wanted to drive that home in our version, and even made everyone in the band sing by the end of it! We’re beyond excited to share this with our fans and I’m really looking forward to playing it live.”

Published by Xbox Game Studios and developed by The Coalition, a growing team of talented, creative, fun-loving professionals from around the world who are united in their passion for Gears of War, Gears 5 is the latest entry in the award-winning and billion-dollar that continues to redefine the third-person shooter genre. Gears 5 features five thrilling modes and the deepest campaign yet and was released on September 10, 2019 for Xbox One, Windows 10, Steam and with Xbox Game Pass, with early access for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members and Gears 5 Ultimate Edition owners on September 6, 2019. Launched to critical acclaim in 2006, the Gears of War franchise has inspired a full line of toys and Funko collectibles, apparel and an expanded universe that spans more than a decade of books and graphic novels.

Scarlet Aura have become a staple in the European metal scene with their powerful live shows and crushing heavy metal. After touring internationally with artists like Rhapsody of Fire, Tarja, Beast in Black and Soto, releasing critically acclaimed albums and gaining steady followers on all channels, Scarlet Aura are now set to release their fifth album “Stormbreaker” and just shared the album’s cover art, tracklisting and release date with their fans for their anticipated new album.

The brand-new album “Stormbreaker” features the previously released single track ‘High in the Sky’ which debuted live during their summer tour.

Check out the music video ‘High in The Sky’ as first single from the new album “Stormbreaker” here https://youtu.be/xg-4sWp_QzY

The new album “Stormbreaker” will also mark the official release of the second fantasy book volume from the same trilogy. Scarlet Aura continues the conceptual “The Book Of Scarlet Trilogy” showing who they are through the musical and the lyrical part. The new album and book release date are set for 27th of March 2020.

  10. A Blast From The Past
  11. Scarlets United

Aura, the front lady, states:-

“As an artist I`m not afraid to dig into the unknown by approaching sensible subjects in our songs, subjects like the difficulty of being honest with others but also with yourself regarding your own feelings, the need of overcoming a huge sufferance that troubles you, the lack of courage when it`s about doing the right thing, the lack of love or the crying for it… subjects that make ourselves human, subjects that are in each one of us and that makes us who we are and maybe throughout our music, we get recovered, healed or better, we discover ourselves for who we really are because with any doubt music heals the spirit, metal heals the heart.

And so Stormbreaker was born and got the fantasy clothing as the second album from “The Book Of Scarlet” Trilogy which became without even knowing in advance, a journey, a process of getting our true self out there through this unique process of enjoying the combination between metal music and fantasy literature. The release album concerts will be true shows of spark in which we`ll use the amazing prop that will give you the goose bumps of the Scarlet world so join us, let`s make this 2020 tour into a sold out one, it will be definitely worth it!“.

Guitarist Mihai adds:-

“Stormbreaker continues the heavy metal statement we started with Hail To You and although “The Book Of Scarlet” trilogy takes these albums into a fantasy world of discovering Scarlet, I think we`ll all realize after listening that actually Scarlet is in each one of us. Stormbreaker comes rough, it comes straight forward, it comes in your face with the powerful rhythms, edgy guitar riffs, almost psychedelic guitar solos, hard crunchy bass lines, modulations and surprises at every step not giving you the time to get bored but to want more after every song, all of us exceeding even our own expectations. After I finished the production for Stormbreaker I was surprised of our evolution, I think it`s the best album Scarlet Aura had so far, I think it comes with the fresh sound and approach the heavy metal stage needs, I`m proud of how far we`ve got and  I hope you`ll be too by coming to our shows and supporting the band.  Can`t wait to see you out there!”

Dr. Tatyana Shubina, Managing Director of Silver City Records points out:-

“Eastern European countries and particularly Romania haven’t brought many metal bands on the international metal music radar, making with Scarlet Aura a beautiful exception also by their sparkling and full of energy fronted female singer, by their message full of light, by their powerful sound, unique guitar solos, song writing and the fantasy behind all this. Scarlet Aura in one word? Exceptional!”

The album was recorded in Bucharest at Silver City Studio and written, mixed, engineered and produced by Mihai Danciulescu, founder and guitar player of Scarlet Aura, with lyrics written by Aura Danciulescu. The album and the book will be released by Silver City Records, the band's own record label.

Accompanying the announcement of the release, Scarlet Aura will kick off a European wide tour in spring 2020 that will lead them through Germany, Switzerland, France, United Kingdom, Czech Republic, The Netherlands, Austria, Romania and Bulgaria.

Turkish Black Metallers Zifir reveal first track from forthcoming album 'Demoniac Ethics'

23/11/2019

Turkish black metal cult Zifir reveal the new track "Demoniac Ethics." The track is the first to be revealed from the band's highly anticipated fourth album, Demoniac Ethics, set for international release on January 24th, 2020 via Duplicate Records. Hear Zifir's title track "Demoniac Ethics" in its entirety HERE.

An Istanbul-based trio, Zifir strike back with Demoniac Ethics. Their second release for Duplicate, it ups the ante on 2017's Kingdom of Nothingness, with the aggressive parts growing harsher and the atmospheric elements ever expanding. Demoniac Ethics shows religion though a twisted kaleidoscope, exposing the imprisoning religious dogma and tyranny that has occurred throughout history - and does to this day. Whereas Kingdom Of Nothingness was a harrowing glimpse into the world of Zifir, Demoniac Ethics takes you right into the innermost sanctum of their anti-religious agenda, while delivering one of the strongest and most forward-thinking black metal releases of late.

Zifir was founded by O.Ö and O.S. in 2006. They released their debut album, You Must Come With Us, in 2007. This debut album reflected the concept of Zifir's black metal vision, and the whole content supports this vision with all its instruments, where everything - recording, mix, mastering, and artwork - was DIY and done by the band. By December 2007, Nursuz joined Zifir on drums, and the trio started working on a new album with their new lineup. The recording was finally completed by 2010, and the band signed with Dunkelkunst Productions for the upcoming album. Titled Protest Against Humanity, Zifir's second album was released in 2011. After the album, O.S. quit the band.

Come 2012, Zifir released a split CD with Belgium's Cult of Erinyes. After the split CD release, Zifir worked on songwriting between 2012 and 2016 for their third album. It was December 2016 when the band finished its recording and signed a deal with Duplicate Records. Finally, in September 2017, Kingdom of Nothingness was released by Duplicate on CD and vinyl LP formats, with the cover artwork created by Russian artist Vergvoktre.

By November 2018, Ilgar joined the band on bass guitar, and Zifir has become a trio once again. After a recording session between 2018 and 2019, Zifir announced their fourth full-length, Demoniac Ethics, which is scheduled to be released on January 24th, 2020 via Duplicate Records. With stark 'n' haunting cover art created again Vergvoktre, Zifir here have truly hit their apex in terms of fullness of vision and foulness of execution, its intensity always simmering with haunting tension. One could say Demoniac Ethics is ceremonial, given its ominously hovering aspect, but within this ghostly atmosphere lay razors forever circling one's flesh. Suitably, form fits concept, as a cursory read of the album's component song titles salaciously suggest: "Chaos Clouds," "Empire of Worms," "Chants for Execution," and the telltale "Insects as Messengers," among others. Behold the fullness & foulness of Zifir's coming with Demoniac Ethics!

Behold that first foulness with the brand-new title track "Demoniac Ethics" HERE at Duplicate Records' Bandcamp, where the album can also be pre-ordered. Become further tantalized & traumatized by a special trailer video HERE at Zifir's official YouTube channel.

Swedish doom metallers Avatarium release their highly-praised new dark gospel The Fire I Long For today via Nuclear Blast. To mark the occasion, the band has unveiled an official lyric video for the song 'Lay Me Down', which features guest appearances by Leif Sundin (backing vocals) and Michael Blair (percussion). Watch now: youtu.be/wMXrWN4D8P4

Guitarist Marcus Jidell comments:-

"'Lay Me Down' is maybe one of the best songs we've written thus far. It contains so many elements I think a good song should have: great and moving lyrics, soulful musical performances and psychedelic elements that might be a way of trying to understand and feel connected with other dimensions and spiritual energies."

The Fire I Long For is available to order here: nblast.de/Avatarium-TheFire

★ Limited digipak
★ Black Vinyl
★ White Vinyl (NB mail-order and wholesale exclusive)
★ Gold Vinyl (NB mail-order exclusive)
★ Digital Download | Stream

Founded in 2012 by Leif Edling of Candlemass, Avatarium soon saw the arrival of Marcus Jidell (producer Candlemass) and Jennie-Ann Smith who brought an air of charisma with her soulful grace. The band has become an entity of its own and while Leif still contributed three songs for the new album, the band’s current line-up consists of Marcus and Jennie-Ann, who are accompanied on this record by organist Rickard Nilsson and new drummer Andreas ‘Habo’ Johansson (The Doomsday Kingdom). Together, this open-minded, yet doom-laden collective draws elements of folk, jazz and psychedelic brilliance into a grandiose amalgamation that manages to maintain an almost pop-like elegance. Recorded at Studio DeepWell in Stockholm, the album was produced by Marcus Jidell, mixed by Grammy Award winner Niklas Flyckt and mastered by Svante Forsback (Rammstein).

American Metalcore crew Heart Of Jordan unveil new video for “Echoes Still Remain” from debut album

20/11/2019

Picture

Rising metalcore band Heart Of Jordan has released an intense new video for the track “Echoes Still Remain” from their self-titled debut album.

Watch “Echoes Still Remain” today, exclusively via Alternative Press at https://www.altpress.com/features/premiere/heart-of-jordan-convey-the-self-hatred-of-addiction-in-echoes-still-remain-watch/.

Directed by Scott VanGilder, Josiah Wood and Heart Of Jordan, “Echoes Still Remain” was filmed and edited by Scott VanGilder and Josiah Wood and serves as a sort of prequel – and sequel – to the album’s first video for “Deny.”

Says guitarist Elijah White:-

“Lyrically, the song is about the struggles of trying to help an addict stop the vicious cycle of addiction. Visually, the torture scenes of the video represent a prequel to our ‘Deny’ music video story line, using the metaphor of torture to articulate the songs message. Also, the beginning of the video shows a bit of a sequel to the ‘Deny’ story, letting the viewer know there is more story to tell. P.S. Look out for the plot twist at the end!”

From their humble beginnings in a dingy attic making rough demos on a trusty outdated tablet, Heart Of Jordan is becoming the next hopeful to stand out in the often over-saturated, cookie-cutter metal and hard rock world. In just two years, Heart Of Jordan has quickly garnered international attention through fierce social media campaigns and DIY tactics that would make the most diehard indie band proud. And in this short time frame, they have wasted no time making their mark on the live scene, having the honour of sharing the stage with many national touring acts such as 36 Crazyfists, Vyces, The Veer Union, Whitechapel and Lorna Shore, among others.

Recorded by acclaimed producer Josh Schroeder (King 810, For The Fallen Dreams), Heart Of Jordan’s debut album is a raw and modern twist on the early 2000s era metalcore sound, while drawing from diverse influences like anthemic ‘80s metal, dirty ‘90s grunge and heavyweight hard rock giants. From the powerful emotion of the song “Eye” and the minacious groove of “Deaf Ears” and “Throne Alone” to the soaring choruses of “Echoes Still Remain,” Heart Of Jordan has established a signature sound through simplicity and ingenious song writing that resonates with a broad audience, all while embracing the integrity and devotion to their creative vision.

Heart Of Jordan’s debut album is available via all digital retailers. For a full list of retailers and links, visit https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/heartofjordan/esai.
