Members Filiva'a James, Oliver Leupolu, Shaymen Rameka, Gideon Voon and Joseph Oti-George have cemented a unique space for themselves in the industry with thunderously fearsome hits, including 2020 hauntingly feral track 'Le Manu' that has amassed over 1 million streams since its release.

"We have had our eye on Shepherds Reign for years. There is no one doing what they are doing, it is completely unique and we are thrilled to be a part of it. This is just the beginning for  Shepherds Reign, the catapult is coming," says Golden Robot Records CEO and President Mark Alexander-Erber.

Indonesian alt metal trio Voice Of Baceprot release new single 'PMS'

Groundbreaking Indonesian trio Voice Of Baceprot return with their triumphant new single 'PMS'. Stream here: https://li.sten.to/vob-pms

'PMS', short for perempuan merdeka seutuhnya ("completely independent women") is an anthem for the ages. The single celebrates women who are breaking stereotypes and boundaries in all forms.

The origin of 'PMS' came from conditions close to Voice Of Baceprot's background, when the band members still lived in their village in rural Indonesia.

A conservative community, there are few career options for women after school - by choosing a career in music, Voice Of Baceprot have been marked by some as an anomaly or rebel in their community. 'PMS' is then a solidarity call for all women who face the same problems but march on regardless, to keep doing what they love.

The new single cements the group's position as one of the most exciting musical voices from Southeast Asia, and follows their huge performance at Wacken Open Air 2022, among other European festivals this summer.

The all-female trio Voice Of Baceprot have made headlines globally with their music, a fresh take on metal, rap-rock, and funk metal. Formed in 2014 in school in rural Indonesia, the three schoolgirls - Marsya (vocals and guitar), Widi (bass), andSitti (drums) - aged 14, began a musical revolution.

Initially drawn to covers of System Of A Down, Rage Against The Machine, Metallica, and Slipknot among others, Voice Of Baceprot soon found their unique authentic voice. True to their name, given 'Baceprot' in Sundanese translates as 'loud'.Voice Of Baceprot's debut video, 2018's 'School Revolution', their thrash-funk metal amalgam, has gathered nearly two million views. It is a searing track, raising awareness about the inequality of education, and helped fully stamp VOB's name on the global map. Since then, the group have gone from strength to strength, releasing follow up singles 'God, Allow Me (Please) to Play Music', and 2022's '[NOT] PUBLIC PROPERTY'.

Since their formation, Voice Of Baceprot's Marsya, Sitti, and Widi have been using their music to build their voices as activists and to raise awareness of the violations of women's rights globally.  Their activism is only increasing and becoming more powerful as the trio age. This is reflected in the single '[NOT] PUBLIC PROPERTY', released in conjunction with the WoW Foundation and Indonesian crowdfunding platform Kitabisa to collect donations for victims of  sexual violence and abuse.

American modern metallers Malus Dextra sign with Wormholedeath

American metallers Malus Dextra have signed with Wormholedeath for their EP "III, Pt.1", due for release on November 25th, 2022.

This is what the band had to say:-

"We are extremely excited for the next growth chapter through the signing with WormholeDeath, we feel this was the right step for us currently and are looking forward to our future together. When it comes to the upcoming release its crazy to think about, being an underground band self-funded in everything we have done to date here we are making yet another album, Malus Dextra III is unlike any other album we have released thus far, we are dropping this as a multi-part release for the fans and to do what we do best, challenge the idea of norm. With part 1 we cut through the BS and give a raw delivery of how we feel, you could say this is almost a live album with the limited rehearsal, slide-in members, and no tied-down structure, all combined to make what we felt is the purest form of what we have to offer. Lyrically we dance around the board a little, but the essential theme is to question everyone and trust no one. There is so much divide in our country right now and even abroad, we try our best to break all the BS down to the individual and how we and countless others feel amidst all the global chaos and corruption. In short, Malus Dextra III is raw, it’s real, and it’s controlled chaos in its purest form."

Malus Dextra hails from St. Louis, MO. where guitarist Justin Ruesch (former D-Railed/Brutal Harmony) resides, formed in 2017 after recruiting vocalist Wayne Allison (former A Strand of Fate/Victims of Life) with the intent to bring the world music that was not limited to boundaries of genre and subgenres. Although the core of the band is metal the music speaks to the masses for fans ranging from Killswitch Engage to Slayer to I Prevail, the two entered Encapsulated Studios to record the debut “Self-Titled” album, released Oct 31, 2017, and was supported with mid-west and upper east coast touring in 2018.

The band's second full-length album titled “The Gate” was released Oct 31, 2020, supported by mid-west touring, followed by dual releases “Bangin Bionic Beats” a 6 song EP featuring tracks from both the “Self Titled” and “The Gate” remixed and reimagined by John McLucas from McLucas Studios (CA), and “A Somber Moment” a 6 song softer acoustic side from the artist recorded at Encapsulated Studios with producer/engineer Gabe Usery, both Eps released on Oct 31, 2021. Shortly before the recording of “A Somber Moment” the band welcomed two new members, Bassist Alex Smick (former Warheadd) and Guitarist Justin Keane (Blackdeth). 2022 Malus Dextra have once again stepped into Encapsulated Studios to record tracks for their 3rd full-length album titled “III” making this their 5th studio album released.                                                       Matthew Hannah - Keyboards

Vancouver, Canada’s Opus Arise is an orchestral metal ensemble that brings together classical strings and metal rhythms to create luscious soundscapes to dissonant chaos.

Their newest album, “The Network” teleports listeners into a cyberpunk world filled with neon lights, and punctuated with progressive riffs. The last album “Revelation” was released in 2016, and since then, they have taken a more orchestral direction using a string quintet and planning to incorporate more orchestral instruments. Within the cyberpunk world, research is conducted to find the correlation between chord progressions and the manipulation of space and time. The band explains further and details the first single “Inner Skepticism”:

“The combination of frequencies opens a wormhole into a future setting that blindsides the character. In this place, people have unseen technology and seem indifferent to his presence. This is the album opener that brings the listener into the world of “The Network”, an atmospheric opening into a bombastic tour de force. Tons of progressive riffing and virtuosic musicianship in this piece.”

The instrumental album is eight tracks long for a total running time of just over forty minutes. It is the result of many influences, especially prog, metal, classical, orchestral, electronic, and video game music combined into one strange form by nine members who met through orchestras and university. The vision and compositions by drummer / violinist Matthew Logan with the assistance of founding member Shawn Hillman are now being finally brought to life.

Taking their inspiration from classical symphonies, movies, and video game soundtracks as well as neo-classical even extreme genres like black and death, Opus Arise creates music that will challenge the listener. They are recommended for fans of Animals As Leaders, Liquid Tension Experiment, Planet X, and Scale The Summit. Polish pagan black metallers Varmia return with music video for "Oddal"

6/11/2022

Picture

Polish pagan group Varmia – who pay tribute to their Baltic roots by combining black metal with traditional instruments such as the goat horn and the tagelharpa – have revealed their first new music since 2021’s ‘bal Lada’ album. The new song “Oddal” is presented as a standalone video (no digital single at this time) and comes as an introduction for the intriguing and unique group’s next chapter. The music video can be viewed at https://youtu.be/OEYpZyj1ANU

“In the near future we will share our three new pieces. A musical and visual triptych, which in fact is a prologue to what’s next to come,” further explains vocalist/guitarist Lasota. “For the first time in our history, we’ve felt that the album needs some sort of introduction, an opening. So, here’s the first lift of the veil. ‘Oddal’ is a Polish word for seclusion, distance and isolation. We invite you there.”

“Oddal” opens the band’s new EP, ‘Prolog,’ that will be released January 6th across all digital platforms. You can pre-save or pre-order ‘Prolog’ now at www.smarturl.com/varmiapresave

Picture

Varmia was formed in 2016 by composer Lasota with a mission of fusing black metal with musical influences that pay tribute to the ancient Baltic tribes of the historical Warmia region of northern Poland. Vocally, harsh growls shroud the band's music and native Polish lyrics in a visceral aura, the only breaks occurring when using the traditional, ancient technique of “whitevoice” clean singing as utilized during ancient East-Central European rituals, rites of passage and festivals. Meanwhile, the power of the band's metal influences are enhanced by traditional ethnic instrumentation of the Baltic Rites via sounds of tagelharpa, goat horn, wood tuba and krivula. The final result is a compelling mix of dark metallic sounds that channel the spirit of early Enslaved, Satyricon and Wolves in the Throne Room and folk elements that drive acts such as Wardruna and Heilung.

Varmia has released three albums to date – 2017's ‘Z mar twych,’ 2018's ‘W ciele nie’ and 2021’s international release, ‘bal Lada,’ their first collaborating with M-Theory Audio. The group records all of their music in culturally significant remote locations throughout their native Poland.

More information on Varmia and the upcoming release of the ‘Prolog’ EP will be unveiled by M-Theory Audio in the weeks to come, and by Varmia.

6/11/2022

Picture

Ketsuro was born along with Unholy Harakiri herself, amid the pandemic and one of the most difficult moments in Brazilian politics. The band brings here a little of all the references that we have lived, not only in terms of music but also in the content of each track, which address themes related to Japanese and Brazilian culture and personal and social conflicts.

"Ketsuro" is the bloody path we've come this far and we're sure many of you will relate to it too. It has been difficult times but we will win together. Listen to "Ketsuro":https://found.ee/ketsuro

Watch the video for "Espiral" feat. SEMDÓ: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jcSfclVwN64
Formed in 2020, Unholy Harakiri has a mix between members of two underground metal bands, Yukio Hara, Guitarist and Raphael Gonçalves, Bassist (Ex-Colwire) and Maikon Campioni, Vocal (Athimia). The band's proposal is to reinvent the Brazilian metal scene mixing a lot of weight, low tunings and a pinch of Asian culture, futuristic themes and cyberpunk.

In December 2020, the first single "Rakuin" is released by the Coffin Joe Records label, which features the opening track "Stigma (Rakuin)" and "Bloody Path" accompanying an Anime Music Video with scenes from the anime Berserk (Kentaro Miura) 1997, illustrating the song's theme.
In 2022, the singles K I N T S U G I and Penumbra were released. With this debut, the band guaranteed good numbers in their media and streaming profiles, and their full album is now released on all streaming platforms, in order to start planning the launch tour.

English modern metallers Cypher16 premiere video for new track "Another High"

Cypher16 make their highly anticipated return with "Another High". The video showcases the band's first live show since the pandemic, at Rockfest in Finland, coupled with footage of them recording their second album in Sweden, Denmark and England. Cypher16 would like to thank everyone who has been involved in the process, which ended up stretching from 2018-2022.

Frontman Jack Doolan has this to say about the release:

"Well, it’s been a LONG time coming! We actually finished this record off in December 2019 at Abbey Road in London with a view to get it out in 2020, and then the world got turned upside down. As a result of the pandemic and various other things that I won’t go into right now, we’ve had some lengthy time away from music and some internal changes take place. We’re so grateful to everyone who continues to be around Cypher16, past and present and right now the vibe is the best it has been for a long time. We had A GREAT trip out in Finland over the summer playing our first show back (Rockfest), so now it’s time to start the engines up again and get on with the job!"

Moving on to address "Another High" Jack Doolan adds-

"It’s a pretty dark song just touching on some of the personal challenges some of us have faced, and continue to face, every day. We very nearly lost people in Cypher16 over the last couple of years, and it’s safe to say the situation is still pretty dangerous right now. We hope people who struggle can identify with some of the stuff mentioned. Our door is also always open to anyone who wants to get in touch to talk. We all know who, and what, we are."

The second album ‘It’s A Long Way Back (From This Road) releases in early 2023 via Constant Evolution Records.

Cypher16 are an innovative and refreshingly original rock band who harness metal and a hint of industrial to create a truly massive sound. The band have toured in seventeen countries including multiple tours of China and India, playing shows and festivals with the likes of Nightwish, Amaranthe, Fear Factory, Children Of Bodom, Behemoth, Lamb Of God and Slayer, and have released one album and three EPs, garnering significant radio, press and hundreds of thousands of streams / views worldwide.

The band are excited to announce the imminent release of their second album, which was finished at Abbey Road Studios in London in December 2019. Three brand new singles are out now, with the new album to come.
