Australia's Ignis Gehenna premieres new track at NoCleanSinging.com

Australian black metal cult Ignis Gehenna have premiered the new track "Baleful Scarlet Star" at heavily trafficked web-portal NoCleanSinging.com. The track hails from the band' debut album of the same name, Baleful Scarlet Star, set for international release on January 9th, 2017 via Seance Records. Hear Ignis Gehenna's blazing "Baleful Scarlet Scar" exclusively HERE.

The seeds of Ignis Gehenna were sewn in 2007 by Erebus Enthroned singer Nihilifer and Archfiend. Based in Australia, Nihilifer crafted the music while Archfiend, from the USA, penned lyrics. These initial works expressed the devilry of youth and a crude demo was recorded, entitled Ecclesia Diabolus. In 2010, the band produced the EP Revelations of Sinister Rebirth, released through the Korean label Misanthropic Art. An entrancing-yet-ugly sound pervaded this short work of bloodshed and fanaticism.

In the years of silence since, Nihilifer has continued Ignis Gehenna as a purely solo work, slowly writing music and creating lyrics to reflect experiences, insights, and visions of his idiosyncratic path. The work was finished upon relocating to a remote part of Australia where isolation allowed his creative vision to flourish. It is now in the late months of 2016, when the fires of spring are burning anew, that the debut album, Baleful Scarlet Star, shall be released on Séance Records in the early new year, after spending many years behind closed doors, echoing within its composer's mind.

Baleful Scarlet Star features six lengthy songs of dynamic and powerful Luciferian black metal. This remarkable solo work by Nihilifer expands upon and surpasses Ignis Gehenna’s former forays in musical composition in terms of complexity, atmospheric subtlety, and lyrical craftsmanship. The music is powerful, melodic, and inspiring, igniting the dark recesses of imagination to conjure potent visual imagery and enticing the mind and soul to explore hidden facets of the human spectre. Nihilifer is known for his powerful vocal style and penning lyrics which are thought-provoking, intelligent, and filled with metaphor. He has created an album which is not only grandiose but also deeply conceptual.

Originally upwards of 80 minutes of music was recorded for Baleful Scarlet Star, but two tracks have been held back so as to allow time and experience to fulfil these remaining songs, which were at the time unfinished lyrically. Musically and conceptually, they belong together and will be released on the second Ignis Gehenna album, which Nihilifer is currently working on for release in 2018. In the meantime, hear the title track to Baleful Scarlet Star exclusively HERE, courtesy of NoCleanSinging.com. Also hear the the first track off Baleful Scarlet Star, "Serpent Oracle," exclusively HERE.

Kaine recently released a special one off single 'Holding The Line' to help raise money to support the Asylum music venue in Chelmsford. The single, which is the bands top selling online item, is available for just £1 from Bandcamp.

Every penny from the single goes to the venue, and the track was recorded and mixed by Threecircles Recording Studio and mastered by Z-Plane for free to help support the fundraising efforts.

Kaine singer Rage Sadler recently gave an interview with Exposed Vocals which can be found here.

It’s going to be a tough year in 2017, venues are closing, audiences are dwindling, we just need to make it through and see if we can’t improve our fortunes on the road. It will be hard work regardless but we aren’t going down without a fight."

Iceland's Draugsol premiere new track at Decibel magazine's website

14/12/2016

Black Metal upstarts Draugsol have premiered their brand new track "Bót Eður Viðsjá Við illu Aðkasti" at Decibel magazine's website. The track hails from the band's highly anticipated debut album, Volaða Land, set for international release on January 13th, 2017 via Signal Rex. Hear Draugsol's "Bót Eður Viðsjá Við illu Aðkasti" in its entirety exclusively HERE.

Hailing from Reykjavík, the heart of Iceland's currently hot black metal scene, Draugsól are a unique proposition amongst their distinguished stylistic countrymen. While those same contemporaries take an austere and varyingly atmospheric approach to orthodox black metal, Draugsól break from the norm with a sound that's pronouncedly more kaleidoscopic and even a bit celebratory. But let it be known that Volaða Land is not "fun" music or party-time "black metal" or anything falling under the rubric of rock 'n' roll; rather, there is a strive toward the truly epic, a search for superiority of a world apart, a roaming of the hinterlands well beyond the borders of the imagination.

2. Formæling
3. Bót Eður Viðsjá Við illu Aðkasti
4. Spáfarir Og Útisetur
5. Váboðans Vals
6. Holdleysa

At the album's emotional centre is an existential crisis in a seemingly futile and careless world, the demented self-attempts to claw one's way towards meaning and the enlightenment of self. Succumb to the void or be the maker of your own purpose: the process of a single person's mental anguish and the hopelessness of being are writ large across Draugsól's opening statement. Volaða Land starts with the uprising, a search for self-empowerment and purpose. The struggle to keep one's humanity continues as the album progresses, dealing with the mental anguish of being and the absurdity of life in a seemingly careless existence and the struggle in a cruel world. The delusional individual who is the creator and destroyer of his own being/existence rises forth as the record continues, with the realization that to find meaning and purpose is one's own responsibility. Will you rise to the occasion or will you fade disgracefully?

The world may change, values and morality may fluctuate, yet everything stays the same. Draugsól fight against this with Volaða Land, knowing that the human being has to - and will always have to - deal with the primal fear of the unknown. Dive deeply into their debut album, for there is nothing certain but the uncertain. Let there be no hope of pardon, nothing but the certainty of death... Take the next step toward that certainty with the track "Bót Eður Viðsjá Við illu Aðkasti" exclusively HERE, courtesy of Decibel, North America's only monthly metal magazine.

Polish extreme metal band Youdash have teamed up with No Clean Singing to stream "Force Guide" a track from their forthcoming album Astrophobia. While the band's sound is hard to categorize, a good comparison would be a cross between Mr. Bungle, Dillinger Escape Plan and Gorguts.

The site commented that "The entire experience is like jamming a live power line right into the bass of your neck and then dancing in a convulsive seizure. It’s a fiery death metal inferno that’s technically very impressive and flamboyantly exuberant in its conception and execution."

Stream "Force Guide" here: http://www.nocleansinging.com/2016/12/13/an-ncs-premiere-youdash-force-guide/

Avenged Sevenfold are set to return to the UK for their biggest tour yet. Their previously announced 10 date UK tour in January 2017 includes 2 nights at London’s 02 Arena. Tickets are priced £45 / £37.50 regionally and £45 / £37.50 / £30 for London via www.livenation.co.uk and www.ticketmaster.co.uk.

The band’s last visit was in 2013 for a sold out arena tour plus an awe inspiring headline slot at Download Festival in June 2014 which cemented their unshakable reputation for breath-taking live performances.

Avenged Sevenfold recently played a groundbreaking live 360 Virtual Reality gig on the roof of Capitol Records in LA after which they surprised fans with the announcement that their new album ‘The Stage’ – their first for Capitol Records - would be available that night. Previously they had made headlines with the release of the title track, co-produced by the band and Joe Barresi (Queens of the Stone Age, Tool) AND a companion video directed by Chris Hopewell (Radiohead, The Killers). The latter has already amassed well over TEN million YouTube views – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fBYVlFXsEME

The Stage is a work of immense scope and ambition, featuring 11 panoramic tracks tied together by an Artificial Intelligence theme. Inspired by the writings of Carl Sagan and Elon Musk, the album is the band’s first thematic release. While the term “AI” conjures up images of robots and fantasy films, the band steers clear of a science fiction storyline. Instead, the album sees them taking a futurist’s look at the accelerated rate at which technology’s intelligence is expanding and what that means—good and bad—for the future.

The album’s epic 15-minute-plus closing track, “Exist,” features a guest appearance by award-winning astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson giving a spoken word performance he penned specifically for the album.

Albania's Crossbones launch upcoming album promo teaser

13/12/2016

Picture

Albanian metal band Crossbones launched teaser of upcoming album ("WWIII"), will be released via NadirMusic Genova, international release, Digital and digipack, in stores January 2017!

Crossbones were founded in 1996 in Tirana the capital city of Albania. First rehearsals took place in a friend’s house basement... hell yeah! ...and they hit the road to rock n roll with powerfully explosive vocals, heavy guitar riffs and breathtaking drums.

The first members were Olsi Ballta (vocals) and Arbi Xhelo (guitar), then Klodi Shehu (guitar) and Alban Male (drums & keyboards) joined the band and until 1998 they always had session bass players. At this time Fatjon Gjashta joined the band as bass player until 2000 when he left the band and moved to the USA.

The band had no name until Ols (vocals) opened an Albanian-English dictionary and picked the first word of a random page…and it was Crossbones (1996).

Crossbones is the first Albanian rock band releasing an album in CD, called "Days Of Rage" in 1997.
It was recorded in a home studio and at that time the sound quality was not so important, more than the fact that Crossbones were entering into Albanian rock music history as the first band ever to record and produce an album on CD, of course help was received financially

Crossbones are part of the "Era e ndryshimit" history of rock bands in Albania; book by Kozeta Kurti,
published in 2010. They are definitely the most recognized band in the Albanian rock / metal scene.

Crossbones performed live in several concerts and rock festivals in Tirana, Durres city, Thessaloniki, Skopje, Ulcinj and the most important ones so far are:

Opening Act for Rotting Christ 26.12.2015 RockStock Music Festival - 26.10.2015

Underground Music Festival-Skopje /Macedonia 17-19 December 1999
Tirana Rock Festival 1996 (Tirana – Albania)

Crossbones featured in Maximum Rock n Roll magazine Los Angeles 2000.

Unsigned band so far. Looking for a label. Albania does not provide a rock music industry so the only way so far, is to look in other countries.

With 20 years in the Albanian rock/metal scene, it’s time to expand the boundaries.

Belarusian Pagen / Folk Metal band Kaira have released a new documentary of their exploits during 2016. It features great footage of the group onstage and some fun backstage clips from the making of recent official videos. Although the interviews are in Russian, the majority of the hour long piece concentrates on the visual side of things and is well worth watching to get a good look at Kaira’s unique approach and vision.

Much of the music in the documentary is taken from the album Roots Of Veles released worldwide on Sliptrick Records late last year.
