Icelandic black metallers Örmagna premiere the new track "Náladoði" at heavily trafficked web-portal IndyMetalVault.com. The track hails from the band's striking debut album, Örmagna, set for international release on February 1st, 2019 via Signal Rex. Hear Örmagna's "Náladoði" in its entirety exclusively HERE. Hailing from the modern black metal hotbed of Iceland, Örmagna are an otherwise new entity with no other public recordings, save a self-released track on Bandcamp forecasting the shape of their Örmagna debut. What can be revealed is that Naðra vocalist Ö here also handles vocals, but let comparisons end there: Örmagna are undoubtedly a poignant new development in the increasingly rich landscape of Icelandic black metal. Right after the chopped & screwed intro to the album, Örmagna explodes with a heart-bursting amount of passion and emotion. Its spiritual basis is black metal, within and without, but as the album progresses - or, for that matter, each of its six central songs - Örmagna weave windingly epic screeds of melody and fury that cycle through a surprisingly vast array of textures and tropes. It pushes and pulls with patience and insistence alike, guiding the listener on a fever-dreaming journey through mysteries unknown and unknowable, but always with gritty physicality that's difficult to resist. As such, Örmagna is as modern as it is ancient...or, more accurately, its magical storytelling is simply timeless. Rounded out by mastering courtesy of Misþyrming's Dagur Gonzales, Örmagna's self-titled debut album is a proud 'n' powerful new chapter in Icelandic black metal. Enon Chapel is the new side project of Meghan Wood (Crown of Asteria, Iarnvidjur) and Balan (Palace of Worms, Botanist, Ordo Obsidium). The project was inspired by their mutual interest in the darker aspects of Victorian Era London and in particular the tale of Jack The Ripper and the burial crisis of the first part of the century which saw London cemeteries literally bursting with rotting corpses - the result of a massive population surge. Taking influence from the raw and ravaged sound of lo-fi black metal basement dwellers such as Ildjarn, Bone Awl, Cult of Daath, Les Legions Noire, and The Black Twilight Circle, then injecting the sound further with punk and thrash elements, Enon Chapel has crafted a raw, visceral burst of darkness straight out of the crumbling crypts of Highgate Cemetery. "Enon Chapel" will be released on February 1st, 2019, on cassette tape and Bandcamp via Acephale Winter Productions. facebook.com/Acephale-Winter-Productions-454667141272558/ acephalewinter.bandcamp.com/ Part 1 / 5 of releases of the year. The band got some enforcements from Italy as the vocalist Ira Green joined the line-up. Ira is known from Voice Of Italy -competition and her strong and rough interpretation combined with the Finnish backwoods metallers' instrumental play and song writing creates interesting and distinctive sound. Set for international release on December 25th via Harvest of Death, a division of Signal Rex, hear Vetala's Retarded Necro Demential Hole in its entirety exclusively HERE. If the raw Portuguese black metal scene has (rightfully) reaped renown or at least reverential infamy, then Vetala's third full-length strike shall be the sonic vomit to ruin everyone's day. For over a decade now, exploring the most depraved and transgressive corners of what BLACK METAL can be has marked this duo as nigh-on untouchable. Unrepentantly noisy, accidentally avant-garde, furiously FUCK OFF: although continuing the dark, disgusting work laid down by Black Circle forerunners Irae and Mons Veneris, Vetala have become an idiom unto themselves. And now, with the aptly titled Retarded Necro Demential Hole do the duo abase themselves and bow down before the all-consuming powers of ritual retardation; these four, nameless songs have no reason to exist, if only to rain faeces on good taste and any and all conceptions of "black metal." In fact, it's so beyond primitive and artlessly improvisational, so nightmarishly unhinged, one could qualify it as PRE-black metal. Exquisitely twisted as always, clanging and crazed and amorphously wandering into landscapes far too perverse to grasp, Retarded Necro Demential Hole is the final punctuation, the last severed shred of sanity, for Portuguese black metal. This album REALLY isn't for you! Before joining Machine Head, McClain played drums for Sacred Reich for four years between 1991 and 1995. Sacred Reich's frontman and bassist, Phil Rind comments: 'It is with great pleasure that we announce that Dave McClain is once again a member of Sacred Reich! This was the best case scenario that we could have hoped for. Dave is the best! A great drummer and a great person and we are beyond excited to welcome him back to the band. We're headed into the studio in February and can't wait for you all to hear our new record due in the Summer of 2019!' Dave echoes the sentiment, stating:- 'I'm so excited about re-joining my brothers in Sacred Reich. To have the opportunity to make and play music with one of my favourite metal bands was always something I hoped could happen. I can't wait for everyone to hear the new album that we're recording in February and to come see us out on the road in 2019-2020.' As well as new album plans for 2019 through Metal Blade, Sacred Reich are currently planning their live schedule for next year and into 2020. Stay tuned for more news from the Reich soon. Formed in 2013, Zenit are a young and ambitious band, continuously striving for excellence while blending modern heavy sounds. Line-up: Federico Fracassi - Vocals Andrea Pedruzzi - Bass & Growls Simone Prudenzi - Guitars Daniele Carlo - Drums Zenit will celebrate the release of "Black Paper" with a hometown show on the 4th of January, 2019. The track hails from the band's striking debut album, A Culinary Cacophony, set for international release on January 21st, 2019 via Memento Mori. Hear Horrisonous' "Flesh Presented for Orgasmic Torment" in its entirety exclusively HERE. Hailing from Sydney, Horrisonous formed in late 2015 and comprise a handful of hardened members of the local underground scene, including past or current members of such acts as Temple Nightside, Backyard Mortuary, The Slow Death, Illimitable Dolor, and Pestilential Shadows among others. Not surprisingly, Horrisonous deliver aural slime, decay, and misery by means of the ageless brand of death metal that's equally ponderous, crushing, and fervent, enhanced with slithering tempos and influenced by the likes of Bolt Thrower, Asphyx, Autopsy, Death, Celtic Frost, Carcass, Dismember, and Incantation. The proved it on their debut EP, The Plague Doctors, in 2016 and they proved it with the Asphyx and Celtic Frost covers comprising the follow-up The Plague Doctors B-sides EP two years later, and they fully prove it with their debut full-length, A Culinary Cacophony. A cursory glance at some of the album's song titles (quickly: "Crispy Chunks of the Obese," "Nourishment Through Excrement," "Number of the Feast") and one could potentially assume Horrisonous are a hokey gore band. While their noses are no doubt in tune with life's foulest recesses, Horrisonous are deadly serious about their juggernauting death metal. Requisitely filthy as any Memento Mori release, A Culinary Cacophony digs deeply into the doom and serves up serious helpings of up-tempo gallop and blast. It's a world-eating sound that evokes a creepiness quite at odds with such otherwise tongue-in-cheek titles, but only Horrisonous know the methods to their madness... Brazenly adorned with garishly gruesome cover art courtesy of Rod Scott, Horrisonous offer a symphony of sickness with A Culinary Cacophony!
