Ipswich ‘War Torn’ Black Metal 4-piece Eastern Front are the fifth inductees to the resurrected Cacophonous coven, signing to the label today and announcing their much anticipated third album "Empire" for release on 30th September.
"Empire" focuses on the concept of building an empire through bloodshed and devastation, and is the first record to feature new vocalist Marder after Nagant decided it was time to hand over the vocal duties.
“Signing to the birthplace of UK Black Metal, and to be a part of this historic relaunch is such an honour. Their mission statement and work ethic really resonates with us and clearly it hasn't changed since the early 90's, their passion to succeed is infectious and with it being such exciting time in the UK extreme music scene the quality of the Cacophonous roster is testament to that. We feel our brand of War Torn Black Metal is a perfect fit and will add to the legacy. Cacophonous has always had a great reputation for pioneering new and established bands, so in our tenth year of existence it’s the perfect place for Eastern Front to launch 'EmpirE'.
'EmpirE' is our darkest and most conceptual release to date. Its essence is limitless loss, the notion that empires are literally built upon countless sacrifice and slaughter. The bigger the empire the more blood will have been spilt, the more pain endured, the more wounds inflicted. ‘EmpirE’ is a focused single vision of death as is conveyed throughout the artwork and is our statement of intent as a band redefined. This concept resonates for the members of Eastern Front, pain and loss having been the band’s fifth member for the last few years so this as catalyst certainly affected the writing when research began, that place of introspective honestly is what birthed the album ‘Empire’
We welcome Marder to the vocal parapet, a true ferocious force of nature and now an essential part of our battalion. During the first studio sessions Marder came in as a guest for the record but from the first scream we knew if the job of vocalist for Eastern Front ever became available again she is the one. It did. She is.”

Two years after the release of their seminal album The Divination of Antiquity (2014), pioneers of contemporary UK Black Metal, Winterfylleth return with their highly anticipated new release, The Dark Hereafter on Spinefarm/Candlelight Records. Musically we find the band progressing their ideas and moving into uncharted territories; exploring longer, more expansive songs and building on their signature sound with style & intent. Thematically The Dark Hereafter casts a light on how we are now seeing the negative, long term effects of bad policy making and global oligarchy playing out in our societies, how we have learnt all of these lessons before and yet ignore the wisdom of the ages.
Featuring 5 brand new tracks, The Dark Hereafter finds Winterfylleth at their most musically focused and lyrical best. The band once again used the amazing production talents of Chris Fielding at Skyhammer Studio and Tim Turan and Turan Audio to make the record a reality. Speaking about the new record, guitarist Chris Naughton said;
“After two years away we are really pleased to share this new record with you all. We thought a lot about making it, what it has to say lyrically, what that means and how we progress along with that as a band approaching our 10th year of existence. In recent years it feels like we have been living in an uncertain and unsettling world, and on ‘The Dark Hereafter’ we wanted to bring the issues surrounding that uncertainty to life, within these new songs. They carry a lot of meaning and sentiment for us and we hope they will also have that meaning for you too. We look forward to seeing you all along the way in 2016/17!”
Black/Death Metallers Burial Hordes have found a new home at Folter Records. The Greeks have made their path through their fifteen years of existence, spreading the darkness and misanthropy on three full-length albums and various EPs and Splits. Now Burial Hordes stays true to their original conception, yet evolving into new forms of vehement sound. Devoted and unwavering in their ideology for anti-commercialism, anti-social, anti-religious, satanic, chaos and misanthropy, they continue to hail to their own hellish and hatred-fuelled inspirations.
The first result of this unholy cooperation will be the release of the new "Extinction" EP as MCD an 10'' vinyl in Autumn 2016.
More to come soon, so stay tuned!

Nirnaeth have just unleashed their brand new music video for the song “Nihil in Me” taken from their forthcoming split 7″ EP with fellow French Black Metallers Azziard to be released on August 12.
Produced by France’s Bulldog Productions and filmed in just one day, the grim video perfectly depicts Nirnaeth’s new embodiment seven years after its latest full-length and its orthodox and more straight-to-the-point, even if at time more Thrash-y, dark arts.
The EP, with artwork by Above Chaos (Bethlehem, Tsjuder, Naglfar…), is available for pre-orders in two versions: a 100 copies collector edition solid white vinyl exclusively available from the artists or through the KAOTOXIN SHOP and a 400 copies limited edition black vinyl. A free digital download of the EP is also available at the KAOTOXIN DIGITAL SHOP.

Imperium Dekadenz comment regarding this song: "Our title-track 'Dis Manibvs' describes a journey to the desperate moment of death when attending a loved person doomed to pass away. Its heavy low-tempo melodies might remind you of songs like 'Staub und Erinnungen' from our album 'Dämmerung der Szenarien'. They are supported by a down-tuned seven-string e-guitar, which create a dark depressive atmosphere until a furious blast marks the very moment of death. In our mind, 'Dis Manibvs' represents the most intimate and dark track on our forthcoming release."
The artwork of 'Dis Manibvs' has been created by Francesco De Luca and can be viewed together with track-list below.
Danish metal phenomenon Myrkur has just shared a new track from her forthcoming acoustic / live EP Mausoleum (out this August 19). "Song To Hall Up High," originally by Bathory, has been re-worked and wholly transformed by MYRKUR and has premiered at Metal Hammer, who called the rendition "a gauntlet thrown down to the foes, but one wrapped in finest gossamer, and more true to the transcendent, spirit-channelling nature of black metal than any number of self-appointed grimness-wardens bashing away at their keyboards."
Hear Myrkur's take on "Song To Hall Up High" now at this location.
On the one-year anniversary of her critically-acclaimed, masterful debut full-length, M, Danish black metal artist Myrkur unveils a captivating live recording from the historic Emanuel Vigeland Mausoleum in Oslo, Norway. Aptly titled Mausoleum, the album features beautifully dramatic & stripped-down acoustic reinventions of seven songs from M plus one brand new song and a Bathory cover; all accompanied by the Norwegian Girls Choir and Håvard (ex-Ulver) on guitar. Captured in a cold, dimly-lit tomb covered in morbid frescos that depict the circle of human life from conception til death, Mausoleum is an incredible showcase of Myrkur's sublime yet haunting voice in a truly chilling, unrivalled atmosphere.
Mausoleum is due out this August 19 on CD / LP / Digital via Relapse. Physical pre-orders are available at this location, and digital versions can be pre-ordered via Myrkur's Bandcamp here.
Nuclear War Now! Productions has announced August 15th as the international release date for the CD version of Abigail's highly anticipated fifth album, The Final Damnation, with the vinyl LP release slated for September 30th. Abigail and Nuclear War Now! have been the closest of allies since they first agreed to release the band’s seminal debut album, Intercourse and Lust, on vinyl in 2002, which was shortly thereafter followed by the band’s first mini-tour of the U.S., also under the sponsorship of NWN! Over the next nine years, the label released two subsequent Abigail full-lengths as well as several EPs and, most recently, the Lord of Satan compilation of some of the band’s earliest recordings.
During this time, Abigail’s sound and themes have morphed to some degree, but their ability to successfully incorporate a consistent core of different influences has always remained. Whereas their earliest output afforded them status as one of the archetypal Japanese black metal bands, along with others like Sabbat and Sigh, later recordings exhibited a greater degree of speed metal, gritty street punk, and lyrics littered with sleazy sexual depravity.
With their fifth studio album, The Final Damnation, hereby released once again under the banner of Nuclear War Now!, Abigail has returned to a noticeable extent to the evil sound of their earliest recordings by increasing the black metal dosage in their Satanic vaginal worship cocktail, all the while managing to maintain the rawness of later recordings that has endeared them to a new legion of gutter-dwelling deviants. Recorded at Ikebukuro Studio PENTA Tokyo between November 2015 and May 2016, The Final Damnation reintroduces mastermind Yasuyuki’s songwriting, throttling bass assault, trademark vocal braying, and morally corrupt lyrics, which alternate between the primal evil of songs like “Open the Gates of Hell” and the crude debauchery of others like “Whisky Coke and Bitch.” As always, Abigail’s rhythmic foundation is cemented by Youhei’s unrelenting percussive onslaught, and it is accompanied by guitarist Jero’s venomous riffs and searing leads.
The decision to commission veteran black metal artist Chris Moyen for the album’s cover art further exemplifies the band’s shift back to its roots, successfully conjuring the spirit of Bulldozer in the process and confirming that the original Black Metal Yakuza have not lost a step
