Canadian metal group Hyperia have released a new single taken from the forthcoming album Insanitorium set for release via Sliptrick Records on January 14th, 2020. The band went on to explain the track:- “Dystopia is a politically based track about the corruption that has been going on in our world, and continues to affect us every day, particularly on a governmental level. It’s a song that hits you in the face the entire way through with lots of intricate parts from every instrument. It’s a perfect representation of our debut album Insanitorium – melodic and catchy as well as fast and heavy.” Available now at: iTunes | Spotify | & other major stores Insanitorium - released January 14th, 2020 via Sliptrick Records | Pre-order here Hyperia are: Marlee Ryley – Vocals Colin Ryley – Lead Guitar/Vocals David Kupisz – Rhythm Guitar/Vocals Scott DeGruyter – Bass/Vocals Jordan Maguire – Drums Band links: Facebook | YouTube | Instagram | On Sliptrick Finnish Cello Metal veterans Apocalyptica release brand new video for 'En Route To Mayhem'18/12/2019 Finland’s multi-Platinum cello-rock band Apocalyptica have released the video for ‘En Route To Mayhem’, which will transport the viewer to a fantastical post-humanity future. This imaginary world is barren, dusty, and littered with broken pieces of things once considered essential to humankind such as bits of plastic, a teddy bear, crumbling structures, cell phones and computers, bleached bones, and long-forgotten musical instruments. The setting is devoid of mankind, but brimming with the hope of new life; and then one day, thunder, lightning, and one drop at a time, it begins to rain, and Mother Nature steps in. Check out the ‘En Route To Mayhem’ video HERE. Apocalyptica’s Eicca Toppinen comments:- “‘En Route To Mayhem’ is a journey of hedonic needs growing into greed and aggression, driving into inner mayhem and ending without satisfaction. This video underlines the fact that however we think we are in control by destroying things and life around us, life itself will take over in the end, always. We are not in control of the bigger picture, and we should be aware of it and raise our respect to life around us.” The ‘En Route To Mayhem’ video is in support of Apocalyptica’s upcoming album, Cell-0, due out January 10th, 2020 via Silver Lining Music. Produced by Apocalyptica – cellists Eicca Toppinen, Perttu Kivilaakso, and Paavo Lötjönen, and drummer Mikko Sirén and mixed by Andrew Scheps (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Lana Del Rey, Metallica and Black Sabbath), and recorded at Sonic Pump studios in Helsinki. The recording of Cell-0 followed a four-year break between albums that gave the band a fresh perspective and affected the way they approached the new music. Cell-0 is the quartet's first instrumental album in 17 years and found the musicians challenging themselves to discover new flavours and colours in their respective instruments. For Cell-0 pre-order options, go to this location. Perttu Kivilaakso comments:- “Cell-0 has a concept which is to challenge the listeners to question themselves and ask “Am I doing the best I can for the environment, for other beings? Is there still something I can change?” To highlight environmental issues, the band wanted to ask fans to do something for our planet; so to coincide with the release of the new video, they have launched a very special competition, which will give fans the chance to win the opportunity for Apocalyptica to play in their living room. To enter, fans will need to show the band how they are making the planet a healthier place for everyone. Fans can head to their Facebook page and comment with photos/videos showing what they are doing to help the planet and telling the band why they should be picked as a winner. To find out more information, head to the band’s Facebook page. The online contest is open to all European fans from now and will close at 7:00 pm CET Friday, January 10th, 2020. Full terms and conditions can be found here. In concert, Apocalyptica are known for their moving live performances and will kick off the New Year as Special Guests on Sabaton's 15-country, 23-date European arena tour that begins on January 17, 2020 in Zurich, Switzerland. With a set list that will likely vary night to night, Apocalyptica's performances will be comprised of new songs from Cell-0 as well as from the band's rich catalogue. Their debut single "We" is an excellent introduction to this new, original metalcore band. Aggressive and frenetic, The Luminary Plot is hoping their first offering will be well received by listeners, as they explain: “We are hoping this song leaves listeners hungry for more. With “We”, the band comes out swinging with aggressive, driving instrumentals and swing back and forth into a more floaty feeling chorus, there is plenty to keep people engaged and hopefully show that we do not intend to be a one-dimensional band!” The Luminary Plot rose from the ashes of another band that guitarists Jesse Kopala and Kade Wolfe were in, and the end of that project gave them the time and determination to start something with a different focus, moving from a melodic death/metalcore to a dynamic, post-hardcore inspired sound. Bringing a tight and crushing live show to the audience is of utmost importance to the band and they are looking forward to sharing their brutal and beautiful music with fans around the world. The Luminary Plot is suggested for fans of Norma Jean, Dead and Divine, and Darkest Hour. Watch the lyric video for "We" on TheCirclePit's YouTube HERE along with it streaming on Spotify. Show Dates: Jan 4 - Calgary, AB - Dickens w/ Syryn, In/Vertigo Facebook.com/TheLuminaryPlot Instagram.com/TheLuminaryPlot The Calgary-based thrash group Hazzerd – whose sophomore album, “Delirium,” will be released Jan. 24 via M-Theory Audio – have unveiled a lyric video for their blistering new song “Victim Of A Desperate Mind.” The clip – which was designed by Rafael Ortega of Ecliptic Visions, and which premiered via BraveWords.com – can be seen at this location: https://youtu.be/mdO6D2VSiSc “Victim Of A Desperate Mind” is also now available on Spotify, Apple Music, Bandcamp and other digital platforms. In addition, the song is one of two “instant grat” downloads that are included with digital pre-orders of “Delirium.” Physical pre-orders on CD, cassette and limited-edition coloured vinyl can be reserved at www.smarturl.it/hazzerd. Says drummer Dylan Westendorp:- “'Victim Of A Desperate Mind' is one of the longer cuts on 'Delirium,' and it has some of the album's darker lyrical content. The song revolves around the topics of addiction, depression and suicide, issues that are unfortunately very real in today’s society. The lyrics are written from the perspective of a person who is trapped in their own mind and stuck with their dark thoughts. Even though these are not the most positive lyrics, we have hope that someone who is going through this type of situation will hear them, relate and realize that they are not alone. Musically, 'Victim' is one of the more complex songs we have written to date. Overall, we feel it's the best song to unveil as the second taste of our upcoming record.” Last month, Hazzerd premiered “A Tormented Reality,” the first preview track from “Delirium,” via Ross The Boss' Gimme Radio program. A lyric video subsequently premiered on Metal Injection, who called the song “rip-roaring” and said it “leaves absolutely no survivors in its wake.” A third preview track from “Delirium” – which was mixed and mastered by Johnny Gasparic (Into Eternity) and features cover artwork by Andrei Bouzikov (Municipal Waste, Skeletonwitch, Toxic Holocaust) – will be unveiled in January. Hazzerd was initially formed by drummer/lead vocalist Westendorp and guitarist Brendan Malycky, two Calgary teens who were inspired by the early work of thrash legends such as Overkill, Metallica and Anthrax. The group self-released their debut EP, “Victimize The Innocent,” in 2014. The following year, the band recruited then-18-year-old lead guitarist Toryin Schadlich. In 2017, soon after solidifying the group's line-up with the addition of bassist David Sprague, Hazzerd recorded their full-length debut, “Misleading Evil,” which was released via Canada's World War Now Records. Featuring cover art by Bouzikov, the record was praised by Metal-Temple.com as “one of the strongest thrash releases of 2017,” while Dead Rhetoric called the album “an exhilarating aural ride” with a “Maiden/Priest-meets-early Metallica vibe.” This year, Hazzerd caught the attention of M-Theory Audio after being featured on Gimme Radio, where Megadeth founder Dave Mustaine championed the group as a promising thrash hopeful. He also included the band on his personal list of record collection picks, where Hazzerd were one of only two up-and-coming artists (the other being Power Trip) listed. In recent years, Hazzerd has performed alongside the likes of Striker, Vicious Rumors, Archspire, Spellcaster, and Grim Reaper in addition to playing noted Canadian festivals such as Loud As Hell and Armstrong MetalFest. Lately, the group completed a successful string of shows across Canada supporting Hatchet. For more information, visit www.facebook.com/HazzerdThrash. Toronto symphonic black metal band Astaroth Incarnate have teamed up with Metal Injection to stream the entirety of Ascendance via Metal Injection. The EP will be released tomorrow. Listen to the entire EP here: https://metalinjection.net/av/extreme-of-the-extreme/extreme-of-the-extreme-astaroth-incarnate-rise-from-the-ashes-with-ascendance Astaroth Incarnate are back and bolder than ever. The Canadian symphonic extreme metal band started down the left-hand path with their first official EP in 2017 titled Omnipotence – The Infinite Darkness which was the successor to an unreleased self-titled one back in 2015. Their first EP picked up a vast majority of music critics’ ears to their unique style. Now the quintet are back with a new EP entitled Ascendance, which raises the bar even higher. Across the 11 minute epic split-tracked I am Fire / I am Death (alpha / omega), the band weave a tapestry of extremity, flirting with black metal at its core while seamlessly transitioning over to melodic, gothic, doom, symphonic & death metal with ease. Dynamic orchestral motifs soar over speedy riffs, while the titular Astaroth lays down a genre-defying vocal performance. His growls, shrieks, grunts and cleans easily rival those of the scene’s compadres, imbued with theatrical malice. The guitar work is also similarly stunning, such as at the close of “Omega” when Pablo Sagastume shreds over the thundering rhythm section. The record closes out paying homage to one of their diverse influences - the classic Cradle of Filth number “Her Ghost In The Fog” - though naturally with the band’s own unique twist. A fitting ending to a short dive into the twisted world of Astaroth Incarnate. The band aptly name their style of music ‘Apocalyptic Metal’, and state that “we strived for years to create something we hadn’t heard or seen before. Our Avant-Garde approach to song writing eventually led us to perceive each new song with a completely different mindset. Welcome the beginning of the end and thrust towards your ensuing demise with true purpose.” FFO: Emperor, Behemoth, Dimmu Borgir Facebook - http://www.facebook.com/astarothincarnate Bandcamp - https://Astarothincarnate.bandcamp.com/ Instagram - https://www.Instagram.com/astarothincarnate Twitter - https://www.twitter.com/astarothincarn8 YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgSkH4zJ8My8CNuHr-wMK-Q Canadian Thrash / Death Metallers Hyperia release new single & official video for 'Asylum'23/11/2019 Canadian metal group Hyperia have released the first single taken from their forthcoming album Insanitorium. The track is called Asylum and comes accompanied with a new official video. https://youtu.be/_XPKDBBCP5M Available now at: iTunes | Spotify | & other major stores The group said:- “Asylum is one of the more story-based tracks off the album, and in a way it’s the unofficial title track for Insanitorium. It captures the entire concept of the album and along with the video illustrates the whole dark and isolated vibe Hyperia are aiming to portray.” Insanitorium is available on pre-order now in Shop Sliptrick. What may have been a wild fantasy for many metalheads was finally brought to fruition in May 2019 in co-production with Le Vivier et Codes d'Accès when the eighteen member choir took the stage for their first public performance. Comprised solely of metal growlers, the choir blends metal and contemporary music in a way that is groundbreaking. In their debut performance conducted by Senécal, the Growler Choir performed the dramatic words from the poem "The Dayking" by Fortner Anderson backed with a reinforced sound arsenal. The Growler Choir does more than emphasize vocal techniques specific to the genre of extreme metal, they explore the sonic potential of the voice to demonstrate its extraordinary properties, both sensual and monstrous. They thoroughly delighted the audience, many of whom sat on opposite ends of the musical spectrum. The one of a kind performance was recorded so that music lovers everywhere can witness this very unique event. The Growler Choir innovates on several levels. On one hand, it materializes an almost mythical idea of metal music; on the other hand, it renews the archetypes of a genre by approaching them in an experimental spirit. In short, they are making contemporary and metal music more approachable for new audiences. To watch this incredible spectacle, please visit the following link via MetalSucks.net HERE. Facebook.com/GrowlerChoir Instagram.com/growlerchoir/ The Canadian thrash quartet Hazzerd have unveiled a lyric video for “A Tormented Reality,” the first single from their forthcoming sophomore album (and M-Theory Audio) debut “Delirium.” Check out the clip – which was designed by Rafael Ortega of Ecliptic Visions, and which premiered yesterday via Metal Injection – at this location: https://youtu.be/440NQubX7WE “A Tormented Reality” – which received an exclusive audio premiere via Ross The Boss' Gimme Radio program on Tuesday – is now available on Spotify, Apple Music, Bandcamp and other digital platforms. Says drummer/vocalist Dylan Westendorp, “We chose 'A Tormented Reality' as the first single off of 'Delirium' because we believe it showcases everything there is to find on this new record – the speed, melody, solos and lyrics. It’s a three-minute ripper with no break in the action. Lyrically, the song talks about an individual with physical restrictions due to a medical condition they cannot control, leaving them depressed and suicidal as they cannot live their life the way others can, trapped in a tormented reality.” Pre-orders for “Delirium,” which will be released on January 24, are available now.
