The Devil Wears Prada can always be counted on to challenge themselves — and the world around them with their music. The band —Mike Hranica [vocals], Jeremy DePoyster [vocals, guitar], Mason Nagy [bass], Kyle Sipress [guitar], Jonathan Gering [keys, synthesizers], and Giuseppe Capolupo [drums] — refuse to be hemmed in by boundaries. With their new ZII EP, which arrives 21st May 2021 via Solid State Records, The Devil Wears Prada did not come to play. It's a discordant, dissonant exercise in excellence.
The band has also planned a livestream event for Saturday, 15th May, during which they will play the entire ZII EP in full. Fans can purchase tickets along with the pre-order of the EP. The original Zombie EP dropped all the way back in August 2010 and remains an intense fan favourite. While not a chronological release in the TDWP catalogue, ZII is the next chapter. "There's no question that the Zombie EP is a fan favourite and a record that really set the pace for us as a heavier band. A goal we had for this EP was to pay tribute to Z1 while honing in on the characteristics that we enjoy about heavy music today and the directions we want to see it heading. We just had our first song go to radio with 'Chemical', and now in the same year we will be releasing the heaviest music of our career with Z2. This isn’t just a new chapter for the Zombie EP this is a new chapter for us as a band, and an opportunity to lean into both sounds in ways that feel better than ever. We’ve found our footing with these six members and now we're stepping on the gas and not letting up. Before, there were five songs about how to fend off the apocalypse. Now there are five songs of hopelessness against the hoard.” https://www.facebook.com/tdwp/

Russian progressive metalcore band Next Door To Heaven's new EP "Inside" is now out as of Thursday, March 25th. The self-released EP is the follow up to the band's 2020 single "Dance With Me" and the 2019 second album "V Ways To Accept" released on Sliptrick Records. "Inside" features five djenty melodic prog tracks along with special guest vocals from Lord Nelson (ex-Stuck Mojo) on the record's closing song "Flare Up". The band's discography has always been known for flirting with djent metalcore influences and this new release is no different, except this time guitarist Evgenii “Gene” Mazunov took the helm on the band's sound with the use of a 9-string Ibanez along with bass, arrangement, and composition duties. Also joining as a guest for the recording is well-known Russian drummer Pavel Lokhnin (God Eat God, Dominia, Perimeter). Vocalist and lyricist Daria Mazunova comments: "We put our souls into the music we create, always. It’s not about making music for something in return, not about making it for fun. It’s about emotions transformed into music. I would say for 'Inside', we entered into more metalcore territory though it doesn’t mean there aren't prog components or experimentation done. Conceptually, the general idea of the EP is a fight between a human and a machine and a master/obeying inside one person. If you look at the cover art you will see a heart combined with a car engine in the moment of ignition." "Inside" is available at the following links:

Canadian melodic death metal Tides Of Kharon unveil 'Atlas Endures', the first video from their upcoming EP, "Titanomachy". Telling a tale of betrayal and punishment, the aptly named 'Atlas Endures' is sung from the point of view of Atlas as he is sentenced to hold the sky on his shoulders for all eternity. Lyrically, Atlas Endures is emotionally intense, sharing the character’s heartbreaking acceptance of his unfortunate eternal future, with hopes and dreams being his only escape from the struggle. To compliment the story, Tides Of Kharon proceed powerfully into the track, which happens to open the album. A dark chord progression layered with syncopated double-bass patterns force goosebumps on the listener, a phenomenon the refuses to relent throughout the song’s movement through verse, chorus and bridge. The latter half of the track features a guitar solo, performed by the band’s newest member, Mike Burton, which adds an elegance to this dramatic, yet hard-hitting opus. "Titanomachy" is out on April 6th, 2021 via Sliptrick Records. Tides Of Kharon are:

NextDoorToHeavenBand.com Facebook.com/nextdoortoheaven Instagram.com/nextdoortoheavenband Twitter.com/NDTHband Canadian Deathcore band Wych set February 26, 2021 as international release date for their debut EP "Agony".
Hard-hitting Deathcore as cold and unforgiving as the winters of their homeland, Alberta-based Wych delivers heavy grooves and rhythms that bind to the core of the listener, and then shatter it down with raging, brutal breakdowns. Paired with thought inspiring, abstract lyrics centred around the darkness and disparity of human nature in its many forms, Wych is a sound and experience new to this world. Finnish metalcore band I At Last released their new single 'Wake'. The track is taken from the upcoming debut EP "Magenta" which is to be released on March 26th 2021 via Inverse Records. Although I At Last declare themselves representatives of the metalcore genre, the EP embodies the band's distinctive sound, breaking the prejudices associated with said genre. Guitarist Roope Lappalainen says: "Influences for the EP can be found in several different genres, but in the end when someone asks what I At Last sounds like, I would say it sounds like us. The sound of ‘Magenta’ creates a good overall picture of who we are and what kind of music we want to create." The five-track "Magenta" EP reaches just over 26 minutes and is released entirely in digital form. Listen to the Wake single on:

Descent features 5 tracks of varied material, recorded during the same sessions as the Ascent EP & once again the 5 tracks were mastered by Dan Swano at Unisound. Artwork fo the EP was created by Slava Gerj. Formed in early 2016, The Grief features members from Cork-based metal bands Corr Mhóna, For Ruin and Soothsayer some of whose members had originally played together in a Katatonia tribute band (Katatonik). The Grief plays a mixture of doom-tinged metal with influences from many of the classic British doom metal bands & made their initial live appearances in 2017 before recording an initial unreleased demo with the initial line up of the band:
When the drum position was vacated by Farrow (who moved abroad), the band decided to focus on recording their first 9 songs during 2019 at Murphy’s home studio in North Cork. Recordings were completed in late 2019 with Murphy performing the drum parts until new drummer Con Doyle joined the band in March 2020. UK TOUR DATES – SEPTEMBER 2021 21st – Glasgow, The SSE Hydro 22nd – Cardiff, Motorpoint Arena 24th – Sheffield, FlyDSA Arena 25th – Birmingham, Utilita Arena 26th – London The O2 Arena Mumbai-based death metal multi-instrumentalist, Sahil Makhija aka Demonstealer, is all set to release his next solo EP titled ‘And This Too Shall Pass’ on the 11th December, 2020. The 4-song EP is being self-released with the help of a crowd-funding campaign that Makhija personally set up in July earlier this year. Three years after The Last Reptilian Warrior, it was the COVID-19 pandemic and the resultant lockdown in the country that provided Makhija with a new perspective and the inspiration to write new music. And This Too Shall Pass sees Makhija return to his absolute roots. He adds:- “I guess this is me at my most vulnerable. It’s just me, no incredible musicians to back me up, just me putting my expression and feelings and thoughts into songs for the world to listen to”. An extreme music old-timer Makhija has long been a crucial part of the Indian metal scene; be it founding the country’s biggest extreme metal band (Demonic Resurrection), or starting up an independent record label (with releases by Behemoth, Dimmu Borgir) or setting up a premium recording studio dedicated to extreme metal – Makhija has had an enormous role in shaping the country’s heavy music landscape. After a successful third album, which saw collaborations with Kévin Paradis (Benighted, Svart Crown), Romain Goulon (Necrophagist), Kerim Lechner (Septic Flesh, Decapitated) and David Diepold (Obscura) amongst others, Makhija has resurfaced with a brand new Demonstealer release. The release was mixed and mastered at the esteemed Hertz Studio (Behemoth, Decapitated, Vader), a first for Makhija who is otherwise known to mix all the Demonstealer releases. The glorious artwork for the EP was provided by Indonesian artist Adi Dechristianize (Embalmer, Disgorge). All music on And This Too Shall Pass has been written, played and recorded by Makhija — making it truly a solo effort — a feat he hasn’t performed since his debut album released in 2008. The re-release will include bonus EP - "Live in Madrid (2020)"! Band comments about the re-issue: Diva Satanica: "Bloodhunter was my first studio recording as a vocalist. It was a hard process during which I learned a lot and for that I'm especially fond of it. When we realized that physical copies were selling out, we started to think of the idea of making a reissue further on, as a gift to the fans, and that's how this reissue came up, with new artwork by Gustavo Sazes and 6 live bonus tracks from the concert we played in Madrid last year." Daniel Luces: "Bloodhunter, our first album, will always hold a special place in our hearts. The experience in the studio with our engineer Pedro was eye opening, and I personally learned a lot from him that shaped me both as a bass player and a sound engineer, which consequently spilled over to our second album when we took most of the engineering duties on our own hands. When considering the idea of a reissue with a new cover and layout, we decided to use the tracks from the live show we recorded in Madrid in March 2019, which I think makes a great contrast in showing where we were as a band in 2014 compared to 2019 with a second album and several big festivals under our belt. We hope everyone enjoys the new design and the bonus tracks, and maybe it also gives new fans the chance to rediscover our early work!" Dani Arcos: "We have been thinking about reissuing our first album for a while, as it has been sold out since 2015, but we didn’t want to just release it again, so we tried to record a couple of shows in order to add some live bonus tracks to this reissue. We usually have positive comments from our fans saying they love our live shows, so this is a compensation for their support in these hard moments. We have very good memories when we were recording this album with Pedro Mendes in Braga (Portugal). There were many changes in Bloodhunter since we recorded this album, but the core of the band remains the same." Credits:
Bloodhunter is an extreme metal band born in Galician lands (Spain) in 2008 from the hand of sole founding member and main songwriter, Dani Arcos. After several changes in their line-up and concept, Diva SatanicaATANICA joins the band in 2009, whose guttural vocal assault helped drift the band into more extreme territories. Their self-titled full-length album is released in May 2014, produced by Daniel Cardoso and Pedro Mendes at Ultrasound Studios. Eleven tracks that include updated versions of the 3 songs already present in the demo, as a result of a journey from the instinct that expresses the essence of this band: its versatility. This album has been distributed physically in many countries around the world such as Japan, USA, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Spain, Portugal, UK, Germany, Sweden, France, among others. Later, the band would open for bands like Hemdale (USA), Holy Moses (Germany), Avulsed (Spain), Ancient Rites (Belgium), Rise to Fall (Spain) and Aposento (Spain), before joining Nightrage (Sweden) and Methedras (Italy) on their first week-long Spanish trek called "THE BLOODY TOUR". Diva Satanica participates in the TV Show “THE VOICE”, surprising the coaches by singing screaming and growling, being the first contestant to perform this type of singing. The international artist Juanes chooses her to be part of his team, where she performed songs like “SWEET DREAMS”, “EYE OF THE TIGER” or Lady Gaga’s “BAD ROMANCE”. During 2020, Bloodhunter released a reissue of their first album with a new artwork. This reissue included 6 live bonus tracks recorded in Madrid during THE TOUR OF FAITH (2018-2019). Since beginning of 2020, DIVA SATANICA is also the new vocalist of the Brazilian band NERVOSA. The band is currently recording their 3rd full-length album. https://www.facebook.com/BLOODHUNTEROfficial/ http://www.bloodhunter.net/ |
