Polish Death Doom veterans Funeral Cult to release new EP "Possession Done" in February
Lusitanian Music sets February 21, 2020 as an international release date for "Possession Done" - a new mini-album from legendary Polish metal band Funeral Cult, featuring three new tracks of uncompromising dark death-doom metal!
After «Korowody cieni» album and despite the turmoil of events with the band, Funeral Cult are working again on new material keeping their dark ambiance but giving their new tracks more death/doom atmosphere. Follow band's Facebook page for upcoming live events. Listen to band's preview and pre-order digipak CD at:
Funeral Cult was formed in 1993 by two friends Przemysław Pawlak (vocals) i Piotr Wilk (guitar). In a short time Karol Arkuszewski (drums) joined the band. They wanted to play severe and slow music which brings aura of sorrow, melancholy and dark. Lyrics were focused on Slavic people, their gods and funeral ceremonies and rites. All that described and shaped Funeral Cult’s soul. Finally Łukasz Jędrzejczyk (guitar) and Korsarz (bass) joined the band.
After few months of rehearsals the band recorded demo tape „In Tristitia Et In Lacrimis” at Radio Lodz – 4 death/doom metal tracks. This put things in motion. The band was interviewed by metal magazines and started to play some live shows. During all the time the band was working on the new stuff for the first full album. And in 1995, at Radio Lodz Studio again, they recorded 5 tracks. 50 minutes of death/doom metal but closer to doom metal from Great Britain represented by early Anathema or My Dying Bride with additional factor of Celtic Frost’s sound from „Into The Pandemonium”. They entitled the album „Korowody Cieni”. And the album was officially issued by Lusitanian Music from Portugal in 1996. In that time the line-up were: Piotr Wilk (guitar), Przemysław Pawlak (vocals), Karol Arkuszewski (drums), Sylwester Wilk (guitar), Paweł Matysiak (keyboards), Korsarz (bass). After „Korowody Cieni” there is one change in the line up, Korsarz leaves the band and Grzegorz Krom (bass) joins them.
In the meantime the band signs a contract with Polish label Millenium Records. They were supposed to record an EP, reissue „Korowody Cieni” and record their next full album. But everything went wrong and Millenium Records withdraws from the contract. Both parties ended in court. The trial lasted two years and the band was not able to do anything according to the contract conditions. This was the beginning of the end of Funeral Cult with their second album entitled „Mystery of Possession” recorded in 1998 and never issued.
In 2006 Karol Arkuszewski (drums) decided to reactivate the band. After 19 years he meets Piotr Wilk (guitar) again. They start to reshape new face of Funeral Cult and compose new tracks with a new millennium fresh approach but with the 90’s soul. Completing the line-up takes one year and Sylwester Wilk (guitar) and Grzegorz Krom (bass) join the band again. After Przemysław Pawlak (vocals) refusal they had to find new vocalist, this place was taken by Jacek Rybak. With this line-up the band starts to play live shows in 2018. They decided to play only two old songs – „The Wonderer” from „Korowody Cieni” and „Bojan’s Song” from „Mystery of Possession”. The rest of the songs are new ones. Before the end of 2018 Paweł Matysiak (keyborads) returns to the band. This was the last factor which let the band to hit with the full strike.
In April 2019 the band recorded three tracks at Heavy Gear Studio and tries to go to the open sea.
They contact Lusitanian Music again. After Portuguese label’s green light the idea of „Possession Done” EP was born...

Italian Folk Metallers Kanseil release first single and lyric video 'Boscars'; taken from the new EP
Italian folk metallers Kanseil have unleashed the lyric video 'Boscars', first single off the upcoming acoustic EP ‘Cant Del Corlo’ (Chant of the Spinning Wheel) coming out next February 7th via Rockshots Records.
The song is available as digital single on the major online stores, paired with an official lyric video on YouTube:
YouTube ➤ https://youtu.be/V3qIm2_eDKU
Spotify ➤ https://spoti.fi/2QZfkgW
iTunes ➤ https://apple.co/2R4p5KV
Pre-orders of the new EP 'Cant del Corlo' are now available at the Rockshots Records' official store:
The record is a concept album inspired by the four seasons, a perennial cycle that escapes human control. The spinning wheel (‘Corlo’) becomes the eternal wheel that makes us mortal. Four epic songs with extra atmospheric intro and outro allow the listener to dive into the mood of the seasons, becoming inevitably part of the endless flow of time. Even if the acoustic mood has always been pervading Kanseil’s creations, they wanted to dare a step further by releasing a record without any electric instrument.
The record was recorded, mixed and mastered by Luigi Stefanini at New Sin Studio, produced by Kanseil. The artwork was created by Manuel Scapinello and Giulia Zuliani.

Belgian post metal alchemists Hamelin premiere their debut EP "Hamelin" via No Clean Singing
The record is set for international release on November 30th, 2019 via Wolves of Hades on LP and on CD by the band.
Recently New Noise Magazine hosted the official premiere of the "Below the Waves" single HERE!
George De Decker is responsible for the EP's stunning artwork, which is available above.
The official video of the EP's first single, "Nadir", was launched on YouTube HERE.
Buried deep in the consciousness of four divergent souls from Mechelen grew a beast enchained by melancholy named Hamelin. Though they are in the process of releasing their first EP, they are in no way new to the scene. With all of them having a background in Belgium’s metal scene and coming from different bands and projects, you might just find yourself impressed by their unique sound and dynamic.
The combined musical backgrounds of their members fell effortlessly into place, pushing a sound that is characterised by a strong atmosphere and melody drifting between melancholy and hope, longing for light as we drift further into the void.
With haunting and calm riffs, cathartic vocals, pounding and yet serene drums and a dynamic composition Hamelin’s debut EP will drag the listener through a sorrowful journey into a maelstrom of blackened and atmospheric metal.
Jason Bond - Guitar
Casper De Decker - Vocals, Keys
Jesse Massant - Bass
Jan Dries - Drums

American Death Metallers Cianide set release date for new Hells Headbangers EP
Hells Headbangers announces December 27th as the international release date for Cianide's highly anticipated new mini-album, Unhumanized, on CD, 12" vinyl, and cassette tape formats.
One of the cult names in American death metal, Cianide have stuck to their guns for over 30 years now, patiently building a canon that's unrivalled in its consistency and trend-free philosophy. Theirs is a Metal of Death that's simple, straightforward, and effectively primitive: blunt-force trauma informed by Hellhammer and Chicago forebears DeathStrike, but with a sewer-dredging atmosphere all its own.
Cianide's rich discography reads like a study in unselfconsciousness: one could say the power-trio are strategic in how sparingly they release longer-form records, but they simply release records when they're ready, prizing quality over quantity. And indeed, the five-song/26-minute Unhumanized is a gutbusting bounty of QUALITY. Cianide's first non-split recording since the massively acclaimed Gods of Death LP in 2011 courtesy of Hells Headbangers, Unhumanized proves that the power-trio are hungrier and more energetic than ever. No great changes in their signature sound here - just time-honoured traditions like DEATH, headbanging gallops, and immediately memorable songwriting. If anything, the production on Unhumanized is among their clearest yet, but simply adds to how utterly CRUSHING that Cianide signature is.
Death, doom, destruction: 31 years strong, Cianide have become Unhumanized! Get unhumanized by the previously revealed track "Serpent's Wake" HERE at Hells Headbangers' Bandcamp, where all three formats can be pre-ordered.

Canadian Power Metallers Unleash The Archers release “Heartless World” lyric video; new EP 'Explorers' out now
In “Heartless World”, Unleash The Archers show the world what they are made of. The band manages to give the original glam metal track by Teaze an unexpected, modern power metal twist. Combining that with an astonishingly wide range of vocal melodies, Unleash The Archers surprise and bewitch the listener yet again. A clean guitar intro makes you feel almost melancholic, but when the second chorus hits, at the very least, you’ll be tapping your foot. “Heartless World” describes how everything can become too much from time to time, and that sometimes all you need is to unplug and recharge your energy. Watch the lyric video accompanying the single below and lose yourself in an FM headphone high!

Unleash The Archers on “Heartless World”, fresh off the new EP Explorers:
“The second single is a cover of a song by a Canadian hair metal band from the 80's called Teaze. They are not super well known, but that's why we gravitated towards them. The song “Heartless World” has a really interesting arrangement and can't seem to decide if it's a ballad or a rock opera. Unlike “Northwest Passage”, where we played around with it quite a bit, we left “Heartless World” almost completely as is, and only changed a few small things like solos and vocal melodies. We thought it would be a great companion piece to “Northwest Passage” and really round out the moody Explorers vibe.”

Unleash The Archers newest EP Explorers is out now! It’s available via the Napalm Records Store in the following formats and includes both singles “Northwest Passage” and “Heartless World”:
Swiss Black Metallers Temple Ov Perversion stream their debut EP via "Decibel" magazine's website
Ancient Black Metal upstarts Temple Ov Perversion stream the entirety of their striking self-titled debut EP at Decibel magazine's website. Set for international release on October 18th via Clavis Secretorvm on classic 12" vinyl format, hear Temple Ov Perversion's self-titled EP in its entirety exclusively HERE.
Hailing from Switzerland, Temple Ov Perversion are a young band with old souls. The band's first demo, Rehearsal MMXVII, was a rough 'n' ready display of their ancient, witching metal, suggesting salacious glories to come. Alas, they have arrived with Temple Ov Perversion, a veritable bounty of black filth, lust, and sleaze. Despite its release in the year 2019, one could mistake Temple Ov Perversion's true opening salvo as some long-lost relic of the early '90s, announced on fliers that a release was forthcoming on Deathlike Silence Productions; cult names invoked include Hadez, Imperator, Mortem, and Hungary's Tormentor. Four songs in 20 minutes, each as stout and swaggering as the next, and what you altogether get is a loose 'n' lawless expurse of sonic sodomy that's immediately headbanging and evil as fuck: no scenes, no rules, NO LIGHT! Temple Ov Perversion play black metal in the old vein exclusively!
Even though it's international release was yesterday, you can still hear Temple ov Perversion in its entirety exclusively HERE.
Iranian Death Metallers Nex Carnis stream new EP via "Decibel" magazine's website
Iranian death metal cult Nex Carnis stream the entirety of their highly anticipated new EP, Black Eternity, at Decibel magazine's website. Set for international release on September 27th via Blood Harvest Records on 7" vinyl format, hear Nex Carnis' Black Eternity in its entirety exclusively HERE.
Hailing from Iran and with an album and demo to their name, Nex Carnis are a steadily rising force, wisely parcelling out their releases - Black Eternity makes three total since 2012 - and delivering quality over quantity every step of the way. This new two-song 7" is no different, and shows that Nex Carnis are effortlessly making their Metal of Death craft that much more powerful and provocative. Utterly dark and disgusting, hammering and dizzying in equal measure, Black Eternity indeed sounds much like its title and suitably drags the listener down into labyrinth after labyrinth of untold horror. And yet, for however vile 'n' virulent the band's brand of death metal may be, there's a strangely hummable magic to it that further elevates Nex Carnis' classicism. Behold Black Eternity and begin drowning in DEATH! Drums on this EP were recorded by Alvaro Sequeida (Occidens, Melektaus, Godagainst).
In the lead-up to its international release this Friday, hear Black Eternity in its entirety exclusively HERE, courtesy of Decibel, North America's only monthly metal magazine. Pre-order info can be found HERE at Blood Harvest's Bandcamp and also HERE.
