Metal meets kyl-kobyz, a Kazakh ethnic instrument, in ZaRRaZa's new music video for "The Grudge '19."
Watch it here: https://youtu.be/8DBiUFsL77A
The video was filmed in the mountains around Big Almaty Lake in Almaty, Kazakhstan and features guest musician Anar Kassymova playing kobyz and kyl-kobyz. The band said of the filming process,
"There is a belief that every time someone approach sacred places in the mountains, spirits send out bad weather to keep away uninvited guests. It seems a stone bowl of giant boulders near the Big Almaty Lake is such a special place. While filming on the lake went smoothly, the same task in stone bowl was a challenge. Every time we started shooting, it was snowing. When we stopped filming, the snow stopped too. We'd start to shoot again -- and again, the snow! But in the video, it looks good. No harm done."
"The Grudge '19" is off ZaRRaZa's upcoming EP Rotten Remains, due out November 29, 2019.
Pre-order available here: https://zarraza.bandcamp.com/album/rotten-remains
Kazakhstan may be the wrong part of the planet to play extreme metal, but ZaRRaZa (which means an "infection" or "unbearable person" in Russian) aren’t the kind of band to let a little thing like geography stop them.
Having formed in 2012 with their Bullets & Beliefs demo, ZaRRaZa has quickly jumped to the head of the metal pack in Central Asia. Not only has the band been featured in Metal Hammer’s legendary "United Nations" series, but they have also had their music reviewed by Asking Alexandria!
Their hard work culminated in being named one of the top five best bands in Central Asia as per regional powerhouse Kaktakto.com. The first band to have done a DIY tour in the region back in 2013 on the back of their Cutting Meat. Fast & Loud EP, they seem to eagerly be leaping from peak to peak.
In 2014, the band toured with the Austrian grindcore freaks in VxPxOxAxAxWxAxMxC. This led to opportunities not just in Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, but also the chance to open for groups like TYR, ROTTING CHRIST and ARKONA. They even were able to tour with Hungarian icons, EKTOMORF in 2018 and with metal gods SEPULTURA (2019). On October 24 band will open show in Almaty (Kazakhstan's largest city) for HAIL! Project.
This willingness to slug it out makes sense for a band who sings about controlling your inner demons and using them to resist oppression of any kind. After years of inner turmoil and grinding it out in the underground the band released their first full length, Necroshiva, in 2018. It was recorded in Almaty, then mixed in Moscow by Arkadiy Navaho (KATALEPSY, SIBERIAN MEAT GRINDER).
On May 11, 2019 Necroshiva was released in China via MusicDish. The cover art, done by Vladimir Chebakov, was recently featured in the book Heavy Metal Artwork: Masterpieces, 2018.
Now on the eve of releasing the Rotten Remains EP, it seems like the future has never been brighter for these Kazakh extreme metal devotees.

American Extreme Metallers Singularity to release 'Place Of Chains' on October 11th via The Artisan Era
Tempe, Arizona-based technical death metal/symphonic black metal hybrid act Singularity are excited to announce the release of their second full-length, Place of Chains, on October 11th via The Artisan Era. It is the follow up to the group's highly praised 2016 EP, Void Walker, which was preceded by their 2014 self-titled album that put the band on the map. Place of Chains sports eye-popping cover art from Justin Abraham who has created art for Equipoise, Inanimate Existence, Lecherous Nocturne, A Loathing Requiem, Æpoch, and more. Place of Chains was mixed by Inferi and Oubliette guitarist Mike Low, and Mastered by Anagnorisis guitarist Zak Denham.
Since their formation in 2010, Singularity has continually shown themselves to be a forward-thinking act, one with a bold vision built on fusing technical death metal and symphonic black metal together in a myriad of ways. Now in 2019, Singularity's years of hard work and commitment to their craft has paid off with their most accomplished material yet on Place of Chains. Bombastic and brutal, Place of Chains exists as a unique crossover between worlds, in doing so, Singularity has delivered a powerful album that will surely be ranked among as one of 2019's best death metal releases. Further enhancing the quality of Place of Chains is a bevy of high profile guest spots from Inferi guitarist Malcolm Pugh adding further orchestration throughout the album, a song co-written by Equipoise guitarist Nick Padovani plus a guest solo, as well as guest vocals from Arkaik vocalist Jared Christianson and Animus Complex vocalist Jeremy Davis.
The band states that Place of Chains will strongly appeal to fans of Fleshgod Apocalypse, Vale of Pnath, Old Man's Child, Dimmu Borgir, and the first album from Irreversible Mechanism.
*You can listen to an album teaser video for Singularity - Place of Chains HERE
Singularity comments on the release of Place of Chains:-
"Place of Chains is the translation to the song title "Desmoterion" which lyrically illustrates the emotions of being wrongfully imprisoned. Considering that many of the songs on this record lyrically are about enslavement, we felt it was a good over-arching title for the record. We strongly believe that this is the best Singularity record so far. Singularity would also like to thank our guest artists that we had the privilege of having on this record. With every record, we try to further hone in on what the core of Singularity's sound is and what we want to bring to the world of metal."
Stay tuned for more Singularity news, pre-orders, early singles, and more coming soon.

The Finnish extreme heavy metal group Antipope has released a new lyric video. The song ”Resolution” appears on ”Denial/Survival” album, released in 2017. Mikko, a vocalist-guitarist of Antipope, describes the song as being ‘the conclusion for the previous album. At the same time, it points unremittingly towards the next album, which heralds the beginning of the new era of Antipope.’
Presently, Antipope is finalizing a new full-length album, being the fifth album by the group. The band has hinted at presenting more details about the upcoming album in the form of album title, tracklist, and artwork during the autumn of 2019.

Brazilian black/death/thrash metal legends Vulcano have signed a two-album record deal and publishing agreement with Mighty Music. The band from São Paulo is currently putting the final touches on their new, 11th studio album, entitled "Eye In Hell", which will be released on LP, CD and digital in early 2020 worldwide on the Danish label. The artwork will be done by Roberto Toderico (Tygers Of Pan Tang, Pestilence, Sinister) and mastering will happen in Medley Studio (Artillery, Thorium, Glenn Hughes), Copenhagen.
Zhema Rodero, guitar player and Vulcano founder, has the following to say about the deal:-
"This is a great opportunity in our career and we are very proud about it. Wait for our new album in the next months. It will be a great push in the direction of the metalheads all over the world. Vulcano is a part of the Brazilian Unholy Trinity (together with Sarcófago and Sepultura). In fact, it was the first of the three bands to release a studio album, back in 1986. Ever since then, the group have released 10 full-length albums, toured the world and kept the South-American extreme metal alive.
Fernando Reis, Mighty Music's international promoter, adds:-
"Vulcano is one of the bands that still holds the torch of extreme metal of the 80's - raw, undisputed, honest. It's an honour and a pleasure to work with these Brazilian brothers and help show the metalheads - old school and new school - how authentic extreme music sounds like".
Zhema Rodero - guitars
Luiz Carlos Louzada - vocals
Carlos Diaz - bass
Gerson Fajardo - guitars
Bruno - drums
This Autumn will see Moldovan Extreme Metallers Infected Rain return with a brand new album to be released with Napalm Records. If you haven't been infected by them yet, better get ready, as this band is far from the overly manufactured metal many of us have grown accustomed to! Their style is an energetic blend of some of the best modern metal styles: Female screams and fierce growls, heavy as hell riffs, pounding beats combined with ingenious samples await you, while Infected Rain never fear any genre boundaries and create their very own individual style.
Today the five-piece fronted by extraordinary vocalist Lena, is sharing with us another glimpse and infectious track taken from their upcoming, hotly anticipated album Endorphin. Dive into the band's massive soundwalls, get your heavy dose of some Infected Rain, and listen to their brand new track, Lure, HERE!
Says the band:-
“Tired of being surrounded by gimmicks and lies? Lure is arrogant and brave which is a completely new feeling for us. We felt the need to scream about the powerful urge to change the world and we felt like going heavier with this message through consistent riffs garnished by pure rage.”
Infected Rain was formed in 2008 and made their first appearance on stage in the same year, performing a concert dedicated to Slayer. Countless shows all over Europe and Russia followed, alongside headlining slots at Europe's big festival names, until they gained the well-deserved attention of leading rock and metal label Napalm Records. Infected Rain have released two EPs, several singles and three critically acclaimed, full-length records to date.
Just recently, the band unleashed a first killer example from Endorphin, watch their music video to the The Earth Mantra HERE! In support of their new album, Infected Rain will be heavily hitting the road this year, watch out for many more updates, tunes and news to be revealed in the days ahead.

War metal pioneers Holocausto stream the entirety of their highly anticipated sixth album, Diário de Guerra, at Legacy magazine's website. Set for international release on July 31st via Nuclear War Now! Productions, hear Holocausto's Diário de Guerra in its entirety exclusively HERE.
Holocausto were among the very first extreme metal bands to form in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, a city now recognized for spawning one of the most crucial regional styles of extreme metal. Along with Sepultura, Sarcófago, Mutilator, and a handful of other bands, Holocausto played a particularly sinister-sounding strain of deathrash (or deathcore, as they used to call it in 1987), which, owing to the evil edge it exhibited, is now regarded as an early expression of the then-emerging black metal movement. Holocausto was arguably the most primal of the group, with reckless riffs balanced on the brink of abandon, held together by sheer feral intensity. Holocausto stood out from their peers due to the band’s fascination with themes related to the atrocities of war and a sound perfectly suited to the subject matter.
After releasing their classic debut full-length, Campo de Extermínio, Holocausto’s sound changed drastically. Led by Rodrigo Führer, and no longer playing the same frenzied and primitive style, Holocausto shifted toward a conventional thrash metal sound for its sophomore album before veering into more polished, technical, and even industrial-influenced metal in the early 1990s. Holocausto’s output since that time has been sporadic, but through the years, Campo de Extermínio has retained its power, assuming a rightful place in the canon of Brazilian extreme metal.
In 2016, the original Warfare Noise line-up of the band reunited to resurrect its old sound for the unanticipated and superb War Metal Massacre album. Last year’s Guerra Total demo, featuring the same line-up as Campo de Extermínio, was nothing short of astonishing. Holocausto proved that it is possible for a band to reclaim the youthful intensity of its earlier recordings after straying far from the original sound, a feat that almost no band has successfully accomplished.
With Diário de Guerra, Holocausto has arguably produced the finest Brazilian deathcore / black metal album in about 30 years. It is a vengeful and violent exploration of human horror. The raw, razor-wire sound of Valério Exterminator’s guitar is wound around the pummelling fury of the bass and drums, delivered by Anderson Guerrilheiro (Insulter) and Armando Nuclear Soldier (Insulter, Mutilator, and Sarcófago). The album is relentless, each riff a savage outburst, each song an unyielding attack. Directing the assault are the vocals of Rodrigo Führer, whose snarling, dictatorial growls accentuate the band’s misanthropic tendencies. In keeping with the classic Holocausto sound, the songs here are unrestrained, and, at times, appear to be capable of flying off the rails, but the band always manages to harness the chaos and cacophony in a way that is quintessentially Brazilian.
For any fans of the early Brazilian pioneers, Diário de Guerra will sound almost like an unearthed lost recording from that era featuring all the hallmarks that defined the genre. Hear all of it for yourself exclusively HERE, courtesy of Legacy, Germany's premier extreme metal authority.

Polish extreme metal veterans Vader are releasing their new EP titled "Thy Messenger". Also, the band have revealed a new lyric video for the single 'Steeler'.
Check it out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NvpidgZYb00
The band states:-
"We are so happy to give You all Vader’s new EP 'Thy Messenger'. We recorded those five songs in January when we were supposed to record a full-length album. However, we changed some plans and dates, which delayed the LP till December 2019. Since we already had several songs ready, we decided to travel to Hertz Studio again and record as an independent release. We added a re-make of a title track from album 'Litany', which was recorded 20 years ago. This one became one of favourites among our fans and we plan to perform the whole album as part of live-set in Autumn this year. The other song is our version of 'Steeler' from the legendary Judas Priest 'British Steel' record and is our huge respect for their heritage in the metal scene. In the meantime, we’re working on the new album in Grindstone Studio in UK with Scott Atkins as producer and there is only some vocals and leads left to finish. We will visit many festivals and our own shows in Summer and Autumn and we will bring songs from 'Thy Messenger' on stage too. See ya soon and… STAY VADERIZED \m/".

'Thy Messenger' was recorded over a week-long period in January and February at Hertz Studio in Białystok, Poland under the supervision of the Wiesławski Brothers. The cover art was painted by Wes Benscoter, who previously worked with Vader on the 'De Profundis' LP and has collaborated with such bands as Slayer, Kreator and Sinister.
A new full Vader album will be recorded later this year for a tentative autumn release.
Vader have one UK show currently scheduled for 2019 as follows :
June 29th – Hop Fest, Black Prince, Northampton
American Extreme Metallers Immortal Bird stream new track; pre-order 'Thrive On Neglect' now, tour announced
Thrive On Neglect is the forthcoming new full-length from Chicago-based blackened death grind unit Immortal Bird. The band's second LP, and first for 20 Buck Spin, takes the perilous road of musical diversity and commands it with a bloodthirsty rage.
With a multi-layered sound running the gamut from pummelling grind and death metal to dissonant blackened metal, angular noise, and complex hardcore, Immortal Bird defy simple categorization. The band's compositions fuse into strikingly savage songs, vast in their scope and more than the sum of their disparate parts, merging the progressive and destructive into a maelstrom of raging fire. Rae Amitay's seething vocal exorcisms and targeted lyrical aggression provide the connective tissue holding the stylized violence together.
In advance of its release, Immortal Bird offers up second single, "Vestigial Warnings," for public feasting.
Notes Amitay of the track:-
"This was the first full song we wrote together as our current configuration, and we've been playing it together for almost two years. Finally having it recorded and released feels like a significant step. Lyrically, this one is more 'political' than the rest of the material on the album. I'm not trying to be indirect by using metaphor, but I also don't want to limit people's perspective by being overt. With the 'eyeless, glowing grubs...sickly white, dying still...choir of weakened gasping...,' I'm not saying that I was thinking about certain people who occupy positions of power in this country but... Actually, that is what I'm saying. 'They'll tell you this is how it has to be. Abandon hope and worship apathy.'"
Stream Immortal Bird's "Vestigial Warnings" at THIS LOCATION.
Nearly four years in the making, Thrive On Neglect is a blistering statement of intent from a band ascending into full bloom. Boasting the punishingly heavy production work of Dave Otero (Archspire, Cattle Decapitation, Khemmis) ideally suited for Immortal Bird's tumultuous arrangements and orchestrated chaos, fans of Pig Destroyer, Krallice, Converge, Full Of Hell, Noisem, Cretin, Cannibal Corpse, and Cult Leader, pay heed.
Immortal Bird's Thrive On Neglect will see release on CD, LP, and digital formats July 5th. For physical pre-orders, go to THIS LOCATION. Find digital pre-orders at the 20 Buck Spin Bandcamp at THIS LOCATION where opening track, "Anger Breeds Contempt," can be streamed.
