German metalcore outfit Breathe Atlantis share "Break The Silence" music video

German metalcore shooting stars Breathe Atlantis announce that their new album Overdrive, will be out March 18th via Arising Empire. Pre-order the record, which comes in limited coloured vinyl and bundles here.

The band has shared the video for "Break the Silence", watch it here. The song is an earworm that will have fans singing along.

Guitarist Jan Euler talks about the music video:-

"With 'Break the Silence', we mercilessly reckon with our past. For us, the song is a catharsis of all the things inside of us that have held us back too many times, and it's a turning point from stagnation and passivity. In the past, we often got in our own way trying to express ourselves and we also let to many people tell us what to do. This has come to an end and the brutality and rawness of the song shows the inner struggle to finally break away from all the bad habits and speak for ourselves."

Overdrive serves as a true arrival for Breathe Atlantis. The album was produced by Andy Posdziech (Any Given Day).

Breathe Atlantis have played countless shows with the likes of Sum 41, Memphis May Fire, Attila, Bury Tomorrow, Crossfaith, and beyond. Over time, the band has developed its catchy songs that encourage sing-alongs, with brutal mosh parts and that don't sugar-coat anything.

  • Jan Euler | Guitar
  • Lasse Weigang | Bass

German medieval metallers Subway To Sally unveil new version of "So Rot" + official music video

Co-founders of the German medieval metal / rock movement Subway To Sally celebrate the 20th anniversary of their hit album, Herzblut, which has reached more than 6.3 million streams on Spotify alone, with an epic reissue of their song "So Rot" alongside an atmospheric music video! Throughout their nearly 30-year career, the formation from Potsdam has recorded 13 studio albums, performed at over 1600 concerts worldwide and toured numerous times at the biggest metal & rock festivals such as Rock am Ring, Greenfield, Nova Rock and Wacken Open Air, where they stood on stage as proud record-keepers more times than any other band in the world!

With the high-quality production on the new version, Subway To Sally shows a new facet of their classic fan favourite "So Rot". The introduction is provided by crackling backdrops and frontman Eric's narrative vocals, accompanied by warm guitars and ambient percussion. However, the atmospheric soundscape gains more and more strength as it progresses and promises a multi-faceted performance alternating between gripping electric guitars, clashing cymbals and rousing kickdowns that always go hand in hand with medieval background music. New and old fans are guaranteed to be thrilled!

The band on "So Rot XXMMI":

"If you go by sales figures, HERZBLUT is one of our most successful albums to date. But not only that, the record is also very popular with our fans. No wonder, since numerous Subway To Sally classics can be found on it. The track "So Rot" is one of the secret favourites of both us and our fans. It was a heartful wish for us to transport this song into the year 2021 on its anniversary. We think we have succeeded well with the new edition and are sure that our fans are happy about this little present."

]
A few months ago, Subway To Sally released their traditional Eisheilge Nacht for the first time as a virtual concert experience, including top-class guests. The result has become a strong DVD / BluRay / CD.

Get your copy of Eisheilige Nacht – Back to Lindenpark NOW!

Since their foundation in the early ‘90s, Subway To Sally have established themselves at the top of the scene. Scorpions share "Peacemaker" single from 19th album "Rock Believer" out 25/2

8/11/2021

Picture

German rock / metal icons Scorpions are set to release their brand-new single "Peacemaker" today, November 4, to whet their fans' appetite for their upcoming album Rock Believer, scheduled to be released on February 25, 2022  — an amuse-guile of the rock music variety straight from the metal quintet's brand-hot kitchen.

Mind you, "Peacemaker" has turned into much more than simply a lead single. It's a showcase number that has Scorpions celebrate their legendary tried and tested DNA in a fresh, tough sonic guise, a musical foretaste of their new album that promises to forge an arc between yesterday and tomorrow.

Listen to "Peacemaker" here.

Does a band whose musical career will span 50 years from the release of their first phenomenal album success Lonesome Crow to the arrival of Rock Believer in February 2022 still have the bite, the toughness, and the brute force that it takes to create and record one or two dozen brand new tracks? Aren't their 18 studio albums to date, their platinum and double-platinum awards, garnered around the globe, enough for these relentless musicians? Is there still enough gas in the tank to keep going? One of their songs provides the answer to these questions: "Let's play it louder play it hard / Laid back and a little dark / Give me a dirty riff my friend / There's gotta be more gas in the tank."

And indeed, "Peacemaker" sounds like it's been freshly reimported from the heyday of a legendary hard rock band. "The first thing that came to my mind," remembers Scorpions singer  Klaus Meine, who wrote the lyrics to the song (music courtesy of Rudolf Schenker and Pawel Maciwoda) and produced the band with the support of Hans-Martin Buff, "was the hook line.  'Peacemaker, peacemaker / Bury the undertaker.' I was just playing around with those words. At a time when so many people have died and are still dying of COVID, from devastating wars and other senseless crimes, it makes you feel that the undertaker must be working overtime. In a peaceful world after the pandemic, it will be time for the peacemaker to rule... that's an image that really appeals to me," says Meine.

Scorpions are one of the world's most important rock bands of recent decades, having sold more than 120 million records to date, played over 5,000 concerts, and created a timeless classic in their legendary single "Wind of Change," which dominated the international charts and still is the best-selling single worldwide by a German artist. Countless awards, a star on the Hollywood Rock Walk of Fame, and more, hits such as "Rock You Like a Hurricane" and "Still Loving You," among others, followed. Their success to date impressively underlines the influence that the Scorpions continue to have on the rock music scene. Their latest album Rock Believer will be out on Universal's Spinefarm label in the U.S.

Rock Believer, the credo of their new album, will also be the moniker of their upcoming tour. In March and April 2022, the band is set to perform at the Planet Hollywood Resorts & Casino in Las Vegas as part of its residency, followed by a European tour scheduled to kick off with a number of shows in Germany in June 2022 — with more concerts on a global level in the pipeline.

Germany modern metalcore crew Slaves Of Kali to release debut album "Uncharted Trails" on October 22nd

4/10/2021

Picture

German modern metal / metalcore band Slaves of Kali are preparing the release their debut album "Uncharted Trails" on October 22nd.

The band about the album:

"The album marks an important moment in our band history. Although there is already a recorded EP ("Dawn“), the songs that can be heard on it all come from a phase of the band in which we had not yet found ourselves in our current formation and our musical direction. Each of the songs on "Uncharted Trails" were created with influences from every member of the band. This is what you get today when you ask for "Slaves Of Kali".

In the songs, we simply process the topics that occupy or burden us daily. Usually, it's not about the personal problems of our band members. There are far more important things than our personal struggles. The songs deliver our, mostly dystopian, view on topics like technology, the destruction of our environment and social inequalities. Don't get us wrong. First and foremost, our music is meant to entertain. However, we also think that heavy music can handle heavy content.

Even if the topics are different, in many lyrics you can feel a longing for an escape from these circumstances. This brought us to the album title "Uncharted Trails". Also, the title is an expression of how nature attracts us, as a way to escape these problems, at least for a while. As with almost all DIY productions, the process, from the recording in the studio to the finished record, took quite a long time. It is not easy to decide when the time has come to consider the record finished. Except for the mastering and the execution of our artwork idea, everything about the album is 100% "Slaves Of Kali“."

Slaves of Kali is a modern metal / metalcore band from Berlin. Following the aim to “just play really good metal” and not being confined by any boundaries the band is combining influences of classical metal with modern metal genres.

Ranging from classic metal to so-called nu metal, hardcore, and metalcore the band combines the old and the new school of heavy guitar music to create a new representation of their all time favourite kind of music. The songs don't follow a set roadmap. There are no restrictions. As long as the band members manage to combine their different preferences in one song, they don't give a shit if the song ends up thrashy, corey or nu or anything else.

In terms of content, the songs are usually not about the beautiful things of this world. Often it's about how people, by and large, are quite a bunch of idiots taking good things and ideas and always manage to get only the bad out of them. We as humans have so much but feel poor. We are globally connected, yet often feel alone. In short, Slaves of Kalis music tells of the problems of our accelerated time, large and small.

However, if people come to a Slaves of Kali show, the band will not wait with an admonishingly raised forefinger. When the band plays live, it is primarily about creating some lightness in everyday struggle, it’s about having a good time and bringing people together again instead of separating even more. Few types of music are as well suited for this as Metal.

Line-Up:

  • Konrad Meyenberg - Vocals
  • Pascal Schmitt - Drums
  • Randolf Ehret - Bass
  • Marvin Gorecki - Guitars
  • Adrian Stanciu - Guitars

Doro Pesch of Warlock reveals the album artwork as well as the track list for her upcoming live masterpiece ’Triumph And Agony Live‘, which will be released on September 24, 2021. The artwork centres on Geoffrey Gillespie's famous original drawing of the "Warlock" embracing the blonde rock star.

Doro says:

"The cover and the whole artwork including booklet and inlay are a combination of live shots and the amazing iconic Warlock paintings of my favourite artist, Geoffrey Gillespie, who did all the classic Doro / Warlock artworks. It worked out great. I am so happy with it.“

Doro will celebrate the 35th anniversary of her hit album ’Triumph And Agony‘ with the release of the spectacular live album ’Triumph And Agony Live‘. The highly anticipated work will be released in many different configurations on CD, vinyl, cassette, Blu-ray as well as in an exclusive, strictly limited fan box! Recorded in front of a mega-crowd at the famous Sweden Rock Festival, Doro and her band delivered a show for the ages.

Doro:

"It has always been my dream to play the complete ’Triumph And Agony‘ album live. The order of the tracks is different from the original album, but we're playing all ten songs in new, powerful versions."

The audience thanked them frantically. "It was fantastic," Doro explains. "There was a killer atmosphere!"  And this was perfectly captured in sound and image. To be heard (and seen) on the great ’Triumph And Agony Live‘ album.

Doro admits that:-

"It's one of my all-time favourite albums. It's got some of our biggest classics and anthems like "All We Are", "Für Immer" or "I Rule The Ruins", plus fan favourites "Metal Tango", "Three Minute Warning" and “Kiss Of Death". Not forgetting the album opener and headbanger "Touch Of Evil". I'm super excited and can't wait to let fans hear and see ’Triumph And Agony‘. And it's so exciting to hear the live versions of the classic songs. They capture even more magic now. When I see the fans at the shows and hear them scream and sing along, I know what I live for."

The track list includes all ten songs from the 1987 album, but in a different order than originally released.

Veterans of German heavy metal Rage announce new album

3/7/2021

The band’s fans were overjoyed when in summer 2020 Rage frontman Peavy Wagner presented the group’s new line-up featuring two guitarists, announcing a return to the constellation that had recorded classics such as Black In Mind and End Of All Days. After last year’s departure of Marcos Rodriguez, Stefan Weber (ex-Axxis) was enlisted, followed just a few weeks later by Jean Bormann (Angel Inc, Rage & Ruins). The fourth band member is drummer Vassilios “Lucky” Maniatopoulos, who has been with Rage since 2015. The current line-up could be seen and heard for the first time on the ´The Price Of War 2.0` video clip, a new edition of the same-named song from Black In Mind, which has been available on all major online channels since June 2020. Immediately afterwards, the quartet commenced work on its brand-new album Resurrection Day.

Wagner admits that he is “surprised how quickly the new line-up has gelled into a homogeneous team and how positively the talents of each band member have come into effect" and adds that he feels that the band's music; especially on the new album “is still typical Rage on the one hand while sounding so much fresher on the other.”

Rage have recorded twelve new songs covering a stylistic range that could hardly be more characteristic of the band, from raw thrash metal tracks like ´Virginity` (also the first single and video), ´The Age Of Reason` and ´Extinction Overkill` through mid tempo pieces such as ´Arrogance And Ignorance` and ´Monetary Gods` to the straightforward ballad ´Black Room` which balances things out.

“Rage fans get exactly what they want on Resurrection Day, plus a surprise or two,” promises Peavy, mentioning in particular ´Travelling Through Time`, a number that explores the extremes between bludgeoning “shoot-em up grooves” (quote Peavy) and epic moments. “The song is inspired by Renaissance composer Giorgio Mainerio,” he explains. “There`s a piece by Mainerio called ´Schiarazula Marazula`, with a wonderful theme that I often play at home on acoustic guitar. Jean and I have adapted it to suit the Rage format and given the song a different rhythmic perspective, which has added intensity. We’ve never done a number like ´Travelling Through Time` before.”

So we can look forward to a very special Rage album, and of course eventually also to live shows. Provided that the situation allows it, Peavy and his men are set to embark on a major European tour in November 2021. With Resurrection Day on their set-list, the shows are guaranteed to turn into highly explosive events!

Subway To Sally have released the second video from their new live Blu-Ray, Eisheilige Nacht - Back To Lindenpark. This special, intimate version of the fan favourite "Kleid Aus Rosen" (EN: Dress Of Roses) offers an absolute world premiere: Ally Storch, as well as Saskia and Birgit from Schandmaul, intonate the legendary three-part polyphony at the beginning of the song for the first time ever live.

This version of "Kleid Aus Rosen" stands for what Eisheilige Nacht - Back To Lindenpark is all about: an intimate setting, special guests and unique production.

Bodenski on "Kleid Aus Rosen":

"There are lyrics that you write in one ride. I can still remember exactly how I put this story on paper. In my mind's eye I saw a balladeer standing in the marketplace with a display board and telling his audience this gruesome story, perhaps as a lesson and warning for young girls.

I actually believed at the time that the lyrics would not be suitable for Subway To Sally. I was so wrong. When I heard Ingo's brilliant composition to this text, I was thrilled. It is rightly one of our most popular songs. Everything about this song is just right. In the studio, Sigrid Hausen, better known as Syrah, helped us to sing the three-part intro. Until the Eisheilige Nacht Online, this intro was always recorded. It was a special experience for us to hear it live for the first time!"
