Italy's Lacuna Coil release official music video for 'Delirium'‏

23/7/2016

Picture

Fresh, dark and extremely powerful are only a few of the best ways to accurately describe Lacuna Coil’s latest opus 'Delirium', which encompasses the strength and heavy approach of thrash metal from the 90’s twisted with goth elements into a modern style. Now, the group proudly presents the album’s first official music video for its gripping title track 'Delirium' which was directed by Michael Winkler (iconographic).

Cristina Scabbia states: "We filmed our parts for this video in one evening while we were on the US tour this past May. We used a Go-Pro against a black backdrop and we wanted something that would be purposely rough, something that could remind some weird lost videos found after years and years.

The whole video edited together with the parts filmed by the director with an actress turned out as a very strange sort of a trip, where a girl tries to tight up memories and details together to try to find her sanity back, somehow. I really like some of the scenes as they reminded me some kind of Korean horror movies vibe and it is totally fitting the ‘Delirium' vibe and concept. It also leaves a lot to the imagination, so thanks for checking it out and enjoy."

Italy's Theatres Des Vampires set to release new album "Candyland" in October

Band photo by Luca Cavallari.

Italian “Vampiric Metal” legends Theatres Des Vampires are pleased to announce the release of their brand new album, ‘Candyland’, on October 14th via Scarlet Records. The album is produced and recorded by Christian Ice at Temple Of Noise Studio.

States the band:

"The new album has been inspired by a room of the infamous Pennhurst asylum in Pennsylvania, a room which was different from all the others, with coloured walls and bars on the windows, described as hell on earth by the patients of the facility, where adults and children with severe mental problems have been hidden from the public eye for decades. ‘Candyland’ was the name of that room.

Obsession and madness characterizes Theatres Des Vampires’ latest work, their sound is forceful and sensual at the same time, pervaded with those wistful and melancholic bursts which the band is renowned for."

Classically-trained Metal diva Ayin Aleph unveils Avant Garde music video for "Crystal Bell"‏

29/6/2016

Picture

Classically trained pianist, composer, vocalist and an accomplished writer / performer Ayin Aleph recently released her operatic, avant garde new single "Crystal Bell" via Elliptic Entertainment (order here). The teaser for her highly-anticipated music video for the track already boasts over 130,000 views - an impressive feat for a new, independent artist.

Today, Ayin is finally giving fans what they've been waiting for by releasing said music video - a visually extravagant offering accenting the Baroque / opera-influenced metal style of the track. You can watch the video today, exclusively via Bloody-Disgusting.com: http://bloody-disgusting.com/music/3396638/ayin-aleph-crystal-bell-video-premiere-exclusive/

The video for "Crystal Bell" was shot in Los Angeles over the course of three non-consecutive days. The video features three distinct locations, directed with the assistance of three different directors and cinematographers. Under the direction of Ayin Aleph, Denis Sobolev coordinated the group scenes, cinematographer and "Crystal Bell" video editor Gene Avakyan oversaw the glamour scenes and drone camera operation, and the underwater scenes were filmed with special techniques at the direction of Alex Sherman.

"Crystal Bell" was born in a moment of realization that we spend our lives searching for love while despising the ones who love us," states Ayin Aleph. She adds, "The video marks a turning point of the visual and musical expression of Ayin Aleph. Blurring the lines of fantasy and reality, the video portrays Ayin as an array of extravagant female archetypes - a sexy 50's pin-up character, an opera singer, a victim of drowning symbolizing love, a sexy vintage casino manager getting killed after a fight, and beyond. The video was shot in three days in Los Angeles with different cinematographers, notably because of the technical requirements of underwater filming and drone shots. Pulling together this profusion of elements with the amazing editing support of my drummer Shad Wilhelm was a challenging and tremendously rewarding experience!"

Eclectic and provocative, Ayin Aleph seeks to elevate the majesty inherent to classical music with the power of modern, progressive influences to create a new form of opera and pianistic neo-classical music, that is one viable to mass markets. That journey led to the formation of the band that carries her name, collaborations with some of the industry's top musicians and producers, the recording of 3 albums, 7 video productions, and live performances all over the world.

Ayin Aleph's upcoming album (currently in production) has been described as, "J.S. Bach and Freddie Mercury's love child marries Danny Elfman, while having a torrid affair with Pantera."

Although somewhat underground in the rock and metal scenes, Ayin Aleph is no stranger to the world of music. Ayin first played piano at the age of four, and by the time she was six, she was performing with a symphony orchestra. She was soon recognized by noted composer Dimitri Kabalevski as "one of the most promising virtuosos of her generation." By the age of 10, Ayin was composing and performing original pieces, in concert, for the Composers' Union in Moscow. Ayin continued her musical education in renowned institutions - Moscow Conservatory, The Royal Conservatory of Brussels, The European Conservatory in Paris. Gifted with perfect pitch, her experience and educational disciplines have augmented an organic process of original composition allowing her to use a lot of different musical styles within the frame of a song.

Ayin Aleph is:

Dutch symphonic metal stars Epica announced the release of their forthcoming record 'The Holographic Principle' (September 30th via Nuclear Blast), two weeks ago. Now the artwork has been revealed it is time for the band to announce the track-listing of this highly-awaited album. It racks up as follows:

Picture

01. Eidola
02. Edge Of The Blade
03. A Phantasmic Parade
04. Universal Death Squad
05. Divide And Conquer
06. Beyond The Matrix
07. Once Upon A Nightmare
08. The Cosmic Algorithm
09. Ascension - Dream State Armageddon
10. Dancing In A Hurricane
11. Tear Down Your Walls
12. The Holographic Principle - A Profound Understanding Of Reality

The band commented:

"The Holographic Principle deals with the near future wherein virtual reality has taken off and allows people to create their own virtual worlds which can't be distinguished from "reality as we know it". This raises the question whether our current reality is a kind of virtual reality on itself, a hologram. This implies the existence of a higher reality which we currently do not have access to. The lyrics challenge you to think out of the box, to reconsider everything you thought to know for sure and to be open-minded towards recent revolutions in science. Fasten your seat belts and get ready for a ride as nothing appears to be what it seems in our holographic universe."

Goth Metal pioneers Paradise Lost ink deal with Nuclear Blast

15/6/2016

Iconic UK metallers, Paradise Lost, have signed a worldwide deal with German-based metal powerhouse Nuclear Blast! Formed in Halifax, West Yorkshire in 1988 and still boasting 4 of its 5 original members, the band are widely-credited with co-founding the gothic metal genre with their sophomore album, 'Gothic' (1991). Through the years, Paradise Lost have changed their style effectively and reinvented themselves again and again. They elbowed their way from their original melodic death metal sound on their debut, 'Lost Paradise' (1990) to the classic 'Icon' (1993) and more experimental 'One Second' (1997). Finally they went back to the roots with their current release, 'The Plague Within' (2015) achieving some of the best reviews of their career.

Vocalist Nick Holmes commented:

"Paradise Lost's career has run alongside Nuclear Blast Records since the label began in the late 80's. And as huge fans of original death metal, we still have the majority of the label's first releases from those very early days. It's pretty incredible to see how the label has become a real force in metal music over the years, both in Europe and America and now, nearly 30 years later, in a new chapter for the band, it's exciting for Paradise Lost to be a part of Nuclear Blast!"

Nuclear Blast owner Markus Staiger adds:

"As a fan from day one I've been following Paradise Lost ever since their death metal era, but have also enjoyed watching them grow into something even bigger and so unique. They defined and later on re-defined the gothic genre and always delivered the most dark and memorable songs. It's a great pleasure to finally welcome the band to the ever-growing Nuclear Blast family! Needless to say that we're very much looking forward to this partnership!"

Paradise Lost will be playing at renowned Catton Park based metal festival; Bloodstock Festival, on August 13th where they will be playing the main stage alongside the likes of Gojira, Mastodon and Fear Factory. Tickets are available here.

Italy's Poemisia announce new violinist Maricarmela "Maca" Li Pizzi!‏

Naples-based symphonic metallers Poemisia have announced their new violinist:

"A huge "welcome to our family" to our new violinist Mariacarmela "Maca" Li Pizzi! She will perform in our next shows (oh yes, there is some great news coming up) as well in the future releases!

We are very happy that she is part of the band. Wonderful musician and wonderful person. We found out that our minds are perfectly tuned together and we're sure that great things will come out!"

This is what Mariacarmela wants to add:

"Being a part of this project is like unleashing my deepest instincts. A great band and great people. Looking forward to play live!"

The musical style of Poemisia is focused on sounds which combine metal music to opera and symphonic elements, which are also made by the light-lyric soprano voice of Tina Gagliotta. This duality leads to a tendency to mark the continuous conflict between darkness and light, between death and life, between Hell and Heaven, sometimes also in a peculiar grotesque way. This is fully reflected also in the lyrics which have always a refined nature. Currently Poemisia is working on new material for the follow up of their debut full length “La danza degli spiriti” (“The dance of the spirits”) which was released in 2013.
