Lacuna Coil will be making their much-anticipated return to North America as part of the “Delirium Worldwide” tour next month. The first leg of the tour will feature Butcher Babies as direct support with 9Electric and Painted Wives rounding up the stellar package. The second leg will be announced in the coming weeks and will have a different band as direct support, while the rest of the touring package remains intact. You can check out their dates on their website and Facebook page.

Cristina Scabbia (female vocals) states:

"Everything feels different this time in the Lacuna Coil camp. It's something I can hear it and something I can breath. A new wave of confidence, a renewed essence and pure drops of energy sweating out of our pores. I can't wait to show it to all my friends and welcome you all once again in our family. Trust me, this is a ‘Delirium’ you will feel the NEED to be part of."

Andrea Ferro (male vocals) further adds:

"’Delirium’ is not the beginning of a new chapter in Lacuna Coil's life; it is the beginning of a new book! We're really excited about starting this touring cycle with such a fresh vibe, meeting old and new friends around the U.S. and get such great touring companions. We're just writing the first page of this book and it is already a crazy one."

Marco Coti-Zelati (studio guitars, live bass) continues:

"We’re all super excited to finally be coming back to the US and we’re ready to kick some asses with the greatest album that we’ve ever made! New line-up, new sound, a new vibe and new emotions. I can’t wait to see the reactions from the audiences when they hear the ‘Delirium’ songs played for the first time. Fresh, dark and powerful emotions all at the same time. The strength and heavy approach of thrash metal from the ‘90s - in a modern style. To me, this is the album that I think will be exciting to both of our older AND newer fans. I’m excited, and ready to have some fun on stage, while we spread the ‘Delirium’ to the people."

Ryan Blake Folden (drums) adds:

"For me, I am truly excited to get on the road and play some new material. This is the first record I got to be a part of with the band and I can’t wait to finally see people reactions to songs that I have been really excited about for over a year now. Not to mention, I’ll finally be expressing myself on stage in a way that I haven't been able to do in some time, having up until this point performed music that predated my arrival to the band. With the manifestation of the theme, costumes and artwork, along with the music, the band creatively and passionately poured itself into making this something special."

Dimlight new album "The Lost Chapters" now out in the U.S.‏

After having toured extensively in Europe and shared the stage with Arch Enemy, Lacuna Coil, Epica, Septic Flesh, Rotting Christ, Firewind, The Haunted, Delain, Xandria, Vision of Atlantis, Leaves Eyes and many more, Dimlight is ready to release their new album ‘The Lost Chapters’ on Sliptrick Records.

Dimlight’s new album The Lost Chapters delivers death metal tracks, blended with dark Symphonic elements.

Aggressive guitars, pounding bass lines, sharp vocals but also deep and eerie brutal shouts.
The production was made at Sound Flakes Studios and the engineer behind the solid outcome was John Mcris who was responsible for both mixing and mastering.

The cover was an inspiration of the mighty Pierre Alain Durand (3MMI DESIGN). In “The Lost Chapters” Dimlight had the pleasure of working with the following musicians:

Narrator in the album was Jean Baptiste (Randomawalk). Maya (Μeden Agan) did the operatic
vocals in “Clash of Immortals” and “Fields of Carnage”. Maria Melissanthi Routi (Kinetic)
did the operatic and ethnic vocals in “Fields of Carnage”. Alfred Shtuni on live strings.

THE LOST CHAPTERS” is a concept album – a novel put to music and vice versa.

The story narrated in this album is the origin story of the Egyptian goddess Hathor. Drawing inspiration from the oldest Egyptian myths, Hathor is portrayed not as a goddess of love, joy and fertility as most people today generally consider her, but as bringer of bloodshed and vengeance upon mankind who strayed from the path of the gods into blasphemy.

In truth, it’s an elaborate mythos of the horror/historical fantasy genre recounting the grim tale of Hathor’s birth and her rampage through the lands of pre-Pharaonic Egypt. Before the dynasties of human / mortal Pharaohs of recorded history the gods reigned over Egypt with Osiris at the throne. But Osiris had grown old. His skin was gradually turning into gold, his hair into lapis lazuli, his eyes into emeralds – he was turning into a statue, for that is how age affects the gods. Mortal men would no longer respect his authority or fear him for he had no more spells / words of power to maintain his former strength.

So they turned from him and became blasphemers. Osiris, wishing to chastise them, uses the last of his magic to create Hathor, a new-born beautiful goddess, with one sole purpose: to chastise mankind.

Dimlight is officially endorsed by:
Schechter Guitar Research, Mapex Drums,
39 Custom Guitars, Rotosound Strings and Visual Sound Pedals.

Gothic Metal veterans Lacuna Coil announces details of new album

There is an old sanatorium up in the hills of Northern Italy. An old, abandoned, and decayed fortress whose corridors are filled with the ghosts of a thousand tortured minds and souls. A place where every wall still bares the scars of countless damaged lives - welcome to the Lacuna Coil Sanatorium!

With their 8th studio album the Italian Gothfathers decided it was time to up the ante, switch into a heavy mode and finally take full creative control over every aspect of 'Delirium' which is set for a worldwide release on May 27th, 2016 via Century Media Records.

After being heavily involved with previous productions Marco "Maki" Coti-Zelati took over the leading role as producer together with his fellow bandmates. 2016 shows Lacuna Coil including US drummer Ryan Blake Folden as a tight unit that realized their collective vision for “Delirium” at BRX Studio in their native Milan between December 2015 and February 2016. Yet again they were working with Marco Barusso (engineer, mix) who had not only worked with Lacuna Coil in the past on several albums such as 'Dark Adrenaline' and 'Karmacode', but also on Italian high profile artists like Eros Ramazzotti or Laura Pausini. Marco "Maki" Coti-Zelati also created the artwork for 'Delirium' which is based on an atmospheric session captured by Italian photographer Alessandro Olgiati.

Check it out below:-

The band was created in 2011 and hails from Madrid, Spain. Universal Theory's concept is based on “the pleasure of searching”. Where every sound, note & phrase transmits personal experiences, thoughts & reflections through – atmospheric, dark, romantic, melancholic & mysterious passages. Universal Theory's debut album "Mystery Timeline" (combining the "Mystery" and "Timeline" digital only EPs) was released in 2013 through Metal Hell Records.

Universal Theory has completed their second album "The Most Attractive Force" available on Metal Hell Records. On this release Universal Theory offers up brighter and louder guitars, combining a heavier, more intense sound with a deeper and more Melodic Gothic Metal atmosphere for fans of Tiamat, Type O Negative, The Gathering... Once again Maria Jose Martos returns with to perform the female vocals. The new album closes with the collaboration of Pianist Beth Hart on the closing track Light Vein.

Belgian Gothic metallers Lovelorn Dolls re-release first demo 'An Intense Feeling Of Affection' as download EP

Picture

Five years ago, Brussels-based band Goth metal act Lovelorn Dolls self-released their very first demo “An Intense Feeling Of Affection” under the name “Lovelorn”. They have now made this demo available for immediate download to celebrate the 5th anniversary of that very rare and now completely sold-out collector's item.

Note that it was on the basis of this demo that they got signed to the Belgian record label Alfa Matrix though which they have now released 2 albums and several EPs.

Picture

The demo, which you can check out here, shows the goth metal roots of Lovelorn Dolls and indicates how the band’s sound has evolved and matured between their early recordings and their 2015’s successful second album "Japanese Robot Invasion". You'll recognise several tracks which were re-recorded for the band’s debut album “The House Of Wonders” which were given a darker electronic touch for their debut album thanks to their then producer Victor Love of Dope Stars Inc..

You'll also recognise the track “Mother Of The Universe” entirely sung by Kristell (without the guest vocals of Helen Vogt of Flowing Tears) or “Frozen Inside” played one tone higher with some different guitar melodies.

A 6th bonus song “Rates Of Loneliness” is also added which got renamed “Rats Are Out” on their first album, with totally different vocal parts.

Available now on iTunes, Spotify, Bandcamp, Amazon .

The Defiled find their own "Arctic Spirits" in Greenland, on an iceberg

15/10/2014

So whilst Metallica have had the utmost joy in becoming the first band in the world to play on all seven continents, The Defiled however have found solace by becoming the first band in the world to perform on an iceberg.

Before we turn our attention to the London industrialists, we at GMA would like to draw your attention to the band Arctic Spirits and their music video "Assiliarsuaq" which can be seen below. Arctic Spirits are one of the first ever metal bands from Greenland, yeah we bet Kerrang! and the like didn't tell you that!

Right well back to The Defiled, so an iceberg was transformed into not quite exactly a 'gig venue' per se, more like the most literal open-air concert you'll ever see and this all took place in the Greenland Sea (all in aid of the Jägermeister Ice Cold Gig, which if you like pits artists under jaw-dropping temperatures i.e. -30*C).

Rocking out in temperatures to a number of locals from nearby Kulusuk (of which is near Kulusuk Airport and features direct flights to Reykjavik in Iceland), all of whom attended the gig in Amon Amarth fashion via standing and watching the band perform from an array of fishing boats and leisure craft.

The Defiled's journey began with flying from London to Reykjavik (Iceland) and then got their connected flight to Kulusuk Airport, where they then traveled across ice and sea to their base on the neighbouring island of Tasiilaq (just over 2000 inhabitants).

Before taking the challenge head on, front-man Stitch D, along with keyboardist The AvD, bassist Vincent Hyde and drummer Needles spent time mingling with local musicians and watching them perform their own traditional music, before inviting them and other residents to come and witness their unique one-off performance. The choice of set? 30 minutes of insane music taken from their latest album "Daggers" (Nuclear Blast)

To thank the locals for making the gig happen, The Defiled donated their equipment to the local community hall, this happened upon hearing that the Kulusuk village music hall, and all of their equipment, had burnt down in a fierce winter storm. The donations included strings from Mapex and Blackstar, a donated drum kit and guitar amp to contribute to the rebuilding of the facilities.

Stitch D admitted that this performance was one of the most insane they have ever done, adding that "you see these things on TV documentaries but it’s not until you get to see them in real life that you realise just how big and amazing icebergs are. Although it was cold, I don’t think any of us noticed once we got started as the stage location literally takes your breath away."

He goes on to further add that:

“As a group of mates we’ve shared some amazing experiences together but this has been an adventure that has bought us closer together and something that we all feel really privileged to have been part of. We’ve made a lot of friends during our short stay here and donated some music equipment to the local people, so we look forward to coming back one day and playing a joint gig out here next time – maybe the first ever gig with two bands playing on two icebergs at the same time!”

In order to capture the gig and the breath-taking surroundings, the expedition team turned to the latest technology to film and photograph the gig – utilizing state-of-the-art ‘octocopter flying drone cameras’ to hover above and alongside the iceberg which are controlled remotely from the flotilla of boats nearby.

Tom Carson, Jägermeister music manager, added:

“As far as stage backdrops go, I don’t think you’ll find anything more impressive than this. We’re used to staging events at music venues and summer festivals, so it made for an interesting change to be checking ‘berg suitability’ as part of the pre-event checks as opposed to the typical band riders and sound systems."

“We’ve worked with The Defiled for a number of years now as part of our Jägermusic programme and we’re extremely grateful to them for accepting the Jägermeister Ice Cold Gig challenge and staging one of the most unique sets we’ve witnessed – we hope the locals of Kulusuk enjoyed it as much as we did.”
