In celebration of the 30th anniversary of Bruce Dickinson’s third album Skunkworks, BMG Records have released it digitally in a brand new Dolby Atmos version, alongside a Dolby Atmos version of Bruce’s debut solo album, Tattooed Millionaire.

These releases follow the critically acclaimed release last year of More Balls To Picasso, the stunning reworking of Bruce Dickinson’s second solo album. Like that record, and the Dolby Atmos version of Bruce’s most recent solo album The Mandrake Project, the new versions of  Skunkworks and Tattooed Millionaire have been newly mixed by Brendan Duffey. To listen to both albums, click HERE.

Skunkworks is an album that has grown in stature and reverence since its initial release in 1996. Originally produced by Nirvana producer, Jack Endino, it saw Bruce moving into a more experimental and alternative world than his previous solo work, and that of Iron Maiden. Recorded as a band project with a new group of musicians, the album not only channelled elements of grunge but also had progressive and psychedelic influences within it. While fans and critics were divided at the time of its release, it is now considered to be one of Bruce Dickinson’s most intriguing and exciting bodies of work.

Bruce says of the new Dolby Atmos version of Skunkworks, “It will blow your socks off. It’s a record of which I’m immensely proud. In fact, as the years go by I grow more and more proud of everything that happened on that record. In many ways, it was a bit advanced for its time because we were bringing in all kinds of influences that other people in metal were scared of. It’s very emotional and quite dark in places.”

Alongside the new version of Skunkworks, which is available now on all streaming platforms, the brand new Dolby Atmos version of Tattooed Millionaire has also been released. That album, Bruce’s solo debut in 1990 and released while he was still in Iron Maiden, showcased a more straightforward hard-rock sound, produced by Chris Tsangarides. It featured four UK Top 40 singles including a cover of the David Bowie composition, ‘All The Young Dudes’, made famous by Mott The Hoople.

Bruce comments, “Tattooed Millionaire was kinda the solo album that wasn’t. We had two weeks to write it so myself and Janick Gers just had fun and wrote it round his house. Chris Tsangarides did a great job on the production and now with modern technology we can beef it all up and make it BIG in Atmos world! The album sonically sounds really good.”

Finnish Theatrical Metal band Endless Exam returns from couple years of hiatus from releasing new music with a new furious single "Shut up!".  Vocalist Nina Kuronen tells about the theme of the song:

"The song is about mental violence. Intentional psychological violence. Belittling, threatening, blaming, manipulation that causes deep psychological wounds. A difficult topic that is often not visible from the outside."

Guitarist Jukka Saarinen adds: "The song is the band's fastest and darkest release to date. The song combines two ideas that fit together perfectly."

"I had 'En Milloinkaan' as a rough draft on my computer since late summer 2025, and the song took its final form quite quickly at the end of November," says guitarist Teemu Kuosmanen, who wrote the song. “The recording, mixing, and mastering also went very quickly.”

”The song is about how, even though life doesn't always go the way you want it to and even though there are all kinds of naysayers and pessimists around you, you can still get through anything if you want to and believe in yourself,"
says Kuosmanen. “When I sing it, I feel like I won’t give up and no one can bring me to my knees,” says singer Jori Kärki.

The song is a fast-paced, synth-driven, melodic rock song. The guitar also plays a role, and the chorus is quite big and catchy, in typical Ikirouta style.

Ikirouta is a Finnish melodic metal band from Kajaani, formed in the winter of 2020. They have performed at clubs and festivals throughout Finland and shared the stage with bands like Popeda and Blind Channel and also even the legendary Skid Row.      English heavy metal’s rising stars Tailgunner present the masterful single 'Eulogy', taken from their upcoming album, "Midnight Blitz", out February 6, 2026 via Napalm Records. As the album’s closing song, 'Eulogy' adds gentle orchestral melodies to their nostalgic sound before the power metal feel explodes into a speed metal firework. Epic and bold, the young quintet prove yet again what inspired the rare appearance of metal icon K.K. Downing as producer on their triumphant second record.

  • Pre-order Midnight Blitz here: https://lnk.to/TailgunnerMidnightBlitz/napalmrecords

TAILGUNNER comment on 'Eulogy':

"'Eulogy' is the most epic release of our career so far. Inspired in particular by our heroes in Helloween & Blind Guardian, it's TAILGUNNER at full throttle, telling an epic journey into the afterlife. We needed a video that could match the scope of this quest, so once again sought the help of Andy Pilkington at Very Metal Art. Andy first came to our attention with his work on Judas Priest's Painkiller, and of course killed it with our last single 'Tears in Rain' too. Prepare to battle demons, to ride over fire & ice, and to face the ultimate fate. This is 'Eulogy'!"

Tailgunner unleash their second album, Midnight Blitz on 6th February 2026 via Napalm  Records. Bursting onto the scene in 2022, their sophomore work draws heavily from classic British heavy metal, but just like those influences, the band are determined to push forward. Always crafting their sound and building on what they have, whilst never compromising on what they started with - pure heavy metal. In an astonishingly short time, the emerging British heavy metal talent have found support in the very heroes they follow: after making a strong impression supporting KK’s Priest, legendary guitarist K.K. Downing went on to produce the upcoming album, "Midnight Blitz".

"Midnight Blitz" is classic Heavy Metal without being pastiche. This is a band for the here and now – not just worshipping at the altar, but determined to stand upon it as the Metal Gods of a whole new generation of headbangers. Tailgunner prove their skills effortlessly, carving themselves out as Heavy Metal’s future and grabbing the torch from the legends themselves. Catchy hooks, killer riffs, and appealing to every heavy metal fan – join K.K. Downing and discover your new heroes now.

Tailgunner comment on new album Midnight Blitz:

“Like phantoms of the clouds, the "Midnight Blitz" screams silently through the air. Descending on their prey, a Heavy Metal militia striking at the speed of sound. Only blood can run! Whilst touring our debut album, we were described by one roadie as ‘The bastard child of Maiden & Priest’ and that became the ethos for our new album Midnight Blitz. Just like our fore bearers, we are determined to push forward, always crafting our sound and building on what we have, whilst never compromising on what we started with – Pure Heavy Metal!

We are not just worshipping at the altar of those who have gone before, but determined to stand upon it and be the heroes for a whole new generation! We played over 100 shows touring our debut album, sharing the stages with some of the most legendary names in Metal while paying our dues in blood, sweat, tears and endless nights out on the road. Everything we learned is on display here, packed into 10 tracks in what we feel can be a true, essential Tailgunner album. Produced by none other than the Metal guitar God K.K. Downing, working closely with K.K. during this entire process has been the ride of a lifetime and you can hear those touches of a bona fide Metal God throughout this album!”

  • Craig Carns - Vocals
  • Rhea Thompson - Lead Guitar:
  • Zach Salvini - Lead Guitar
  • Bones - Bass Guitar
  • Eddie Mariotti - Drums

Motörhead announces North American Pre-Order information for “Aftershock”

The North American pre-order for Motörhead's "Aftershock" is live! That’s right, you can pre-order the next chapter of Motörhead’s legendary catalog now in Limited Edition Digipack format via Amazon.com at this link. The album is also available now in regular CD format and vinyl (gatefold – 180-Gram Single LP) format (digital coming soon). Since the pre-order launch yesterday, "Aftershock" has already shot to #1 on Amazon’s Movers & Shakers chart and #3 on Amazon’s Hard Rock & Metal chart.

"Aftershock", Motörhead’s mammoth 21st studio album, hits stores in North America on October 22nd, 2013 via UDR Music. Recorded at NRG Studios in North Hollywood, "Aftershock" is a true leveler, a crushing confirmation of everything Motörhead stands for, marching from the dust storm to deliver 14 belting statements which see Motörhead in perhaps their best writing form for years.

"Aftershock" track listing:

Heartbreaker
Coup de Grace
Lost Woman Blues
End Of Time
Do You Believe
Death Machine
Dust And Glass
Going To Mexico
Silence When You Speak To Me
Crying Shame
Queen Of The Damned
Knife
Keep Your Powder Dry
Paralyzed

With "Aftershock", there’s swagger, there’s punch, there’s speed and there’s dirty filthy grooves, Lemmy Kilmister, Phil Campbell and Mikkey Dee showing clearly that Motörhead is not simply a band, it’s a genre!

That genre, more than ever, resonates with hearty independence and swashbuckle. Whether it’s “Heartbreaker” throwing hooks and riffs into your head, the double-kick concussiveness of “Paralyzed” with Campbell’s fuelled attack, or the thunderous ride-off-the-Rickenbacker Motörcharge of “Going To Mexico”, "Aftershock" takes gleeful twists and turns which re-announce the Motörlegend. There’s the smoky biker bar blues in the shape of “Dust And Glass”, Lemmy’s late-night vocals evoking last-call and melancholy, the pogo-powered punk-spiked stab of “Queen Of The Damned” and the deliciously steamy, humid mournful “Lost Woman Blues” which midway through decides to kick over the stool and stomp out the saloon door.

Motörhead are Motörhead are Motörhead…and their "Aftershock" will be felt worldwide…

Afghanistan's Hard Rock / Heavy Metal band - White Page

12/7/2013

Picture
By GMA's Afghan correspondent Abdul Basir Shakeri

Hojat Hameed, who is the leader of White Page, decided to establish a rock band. He established White Page on March 8th, 2011 after he came to agreement with the other members of the band; Rateb Ramesh, Rabi Adib, and Reshad Afzali who were active in another rock band from the Afghanistan National Institute of Music called ‘Afghan Vision’.

White Page resumed it's music practicing in a small room located at 6th street of Qala-e-Fatula, however they had to leave there because of the people, who were giving unfair names to rock music, and loud voices of rock music. White Page restarted its music practicing in a smaller room located at Karte Char after a delay of one and a half months, but they had to leave there due to the same problems. It took one month for White Page to restart its practices temporarily again at the Afghan National Institute of Music. One month later, they found a place entitled Youth House and carried on their practices over there even though they were compelled to leave Youth House due to frequent complaints made by people. Eventually, they moved to the Venue Restaurant located on 6th street of Qala-e-Fatula and continued their practices there.

At this time, they got familiar with Archibald Gallet, who had a positive effect on promoting the band. Archi started working with White Page as a mentor. At the same time, White Page attended the biggest music concert in Afghanistan – Sound Central – which was a rock festival. White Page could prove itself as the best Afghan Rock Band and draw the attention of others.

After the festival ended, White Page members decided to compose their own songs. The first song is called ‘Fuck The War’ but the name was later changed to ‘Stop The War’ because of social and cultural conditions in Afghanistan. This song is blended with Afghan Music; the song is in Afghan 7/8 rhythm which expresses three decades war and the issues of this period in Afghanistan. The second song is called ‘Bridge’; this song expresses to create a relative bridge between Afghanistan and the and other countries across the globe. White Page members decided to compose the song when the band leader (Hojat Hameed) traveled to the USA as the first Afghan Rock Ambassador; he played music with some of musicians there like Copal Band. It should be mentioned that White Page is the only Afghan Rock Band that Rolling Stone magazine, which is one of the most popular rock magazines through the world, has published an article about it.

White Page has had great performances at many stages such as: Embassies, Afghanistan Rock Festival, a young festival, and many public centers. The White Page members decided to separate after an excellent performance at American University of Afghanistan on March 4, 2012. The decision happened due to major problems like: having no possibilities and equipments for recording the songs and having no financial support. But as time went by.....

Hojat Hameed decided to re-establish White Page. Finally, he re-established White Page again on June 21st, 2012. With other members: Reshad Afzali, Sasan Fanoos and Maqsoud Sadid. White Page are currently active in the Afghan Youth Orchestra with Hojat Hameed working as concert master and violinist, Reshad Afzali as percussion soloist. Sasan Fanoos as guitar soloist, and Maqsood Sadid as the rhythm guitarist.

In brief, White Page is an Afghan band that is made of Afghan Youth. It works for promoting the music especially rock music in Afghanistan in order to show the real and good face of Afghanistan to the world.

Now, there is a new and blank page for Afghanistan music, a white page over all black pages of which reflect adversity of three decades war. It could be written using good words, the good days of Afghan people and unsaid and unheard words of them, the words which are in the hearts, and finally the development of Afghanistan. That’s why it is called “White Page”.

White Page hopes that it can represent the music of Afghanistan on great stages all over the world. White Page exercises utmost to pave the way and never gives up any effort to achieve this goal.

Recently they performed at the US embassy and they got an award from the US Ambassador in Kabul about 2 weeks ago and they also performed at the Sound Central Festival 2013. They recently  changed the vocalist.
