Adrenaline Mob and GuitarWorld.com release first 'Coverta' in-studio video for 'Romeo Delight' (Van Halen cover)‏

28/2/2013

GuitarWorld.com has posted an exclusive new video of Adrenaline Mob recording their cover of ‘Romeo Delight’ (originally by Van Halen) for their new covers album 'Coverta', hitting stores on 12th March 12.

Adrenaline Mob featuring Russell Allen (Symphony X), Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater), John Moyer (Disturbed) and Mike Orlando (Sonic Stomp), will release a series of these in-depth recording videos via GuitarWorld.com in the coming weeks. Check out the current video of ‘Romeo Delight’ at this location.

Adrenaline Mob guitarist Mike Orlando states: “Recording 'Romeo Delight' was an absolute blast for me. I grew up listening to EVH, and from the moment I heard 'Eruption,' I was hooked for life! Tracking the guitars was such a blast, as I plugged in my white-and-black Charvel, my trusty ol' MXR Phase 90 and went right into my cranked-up Marshall JCM800, entering that EVH zone and giving my all to pay tribute to one of the greatest rock guitarists ever! We had a great time with Mike Portnoy's idea to insert a medley of kick-ass VH parts in the mid-section while going into a great treat before we head back to the final chorus!”

"Coverta" is an eight-track EP featuring cover versions of some of the band’s favorite songs. Long-time fans of Mike Portnoy are aware of the multiple cover CDs he has released with Dream Theater and with Neal Morse. Coverta is the first CD of covers recorded by Adrenaline Mob.

Track List:

01. "High Wire," Badlands
02. "Stand Up and Shout," Dio
03. "Break on Through," The Doors
04. "Romeo Delight," Van Halen
05. "Barracuda," Heart
06. "Kill the King," Rainbow
07. "The Lemon Song," Led Zeppelin
08. "The Mob Rules," Black Sabbath

In support of their album "Omerta" and debut single, ‘Come Undone’, Adrenaline Mob will be commencing a U.S. tour on March 12th.

Yesterday, the band began leaving individual posts on their official Facebook page for each tour date below, inviting attendees to that specific date to comment. A few of the lucky commenters on each date post will be chosen to take part in a special meet & greet with the band before that show date (winners will be announced in the comments). Head to www.facebook.com/adrenalinemob to check out the posts… New Haven, CT and New York City have already been posted!

Global Metal Apocalypse goes for sum'metal' season.

So it's that time of year again, where people get their shorts out, cream up and pour the drinks out whilst burning the BBQ food. Or at least part of themselves.

As we near 12,000 views - a number that we wouldn't have dreamt off reaching in just over a year, we feel thats it only right to thank every single band, record label, management and every person we've worked with, dealt with, argued sensibly with (usually over a pint of beer) and collaborated with.

Not only has the University of Essex Metal society been awarded 'Bronze Standard status' and have the journalism event put in the top 3 for 'event of the year', but next year's president Kieron Rochester (Merciless Fail) has won the Essex Finals in BandQuest / Metal To The Masses and so is scheduled to play at Bloodstock 2012.

Now time to get to the nitty-gritty summer slaughter of songs, listed by Rhys Stevenson. With each song, they are hyper-linked, so clicking the link will take you straight to the youtube video; either a music, live a static video - the flags represent the nationalities of the bands in no particular order.

SUMMER 2012 BELONGS TO HEAVY METAL, NO EXCEPTIONS.

  1. Ancient Rites - 'Invictus'
  2. Scarab - 'Valley of The Sandwalkers'
  3. Noein - 'Decay'

  6. Sonic Syndicate - 'Revolution Baby'
  7. Breach The Void - 'Propagate'

  10. The Dead Lay Waiting - 'The Days Im Gone'
  11. Omega Lithium - 'Dance With Me'

Empires of Eden vocalist feat. on The Voice! Australia‏

_Chris Ninni, one of the singers for the global metal project Empires of Eden makes his major TV debut as contestant on the show The Voice. The show prides itself on revealing the true talent of the unsigned world.

Chris has appeared on all Empires of Eden’s releases including the debut 'Songs of War','Vengeance' and 2010′s release 'Reborn in Fire'. Masterminded by former Dungeon guitarist and ESP clinician Stu Marshall, Empires of Eden is characterized by a massive power metal sound, 30-piece orchestral score, and guest performances from some of the most celebrated musicians in the industry.

From creator Stu Marshall: “Chris is a genuine talent and it’s great to see him breaking through on the mainstream. He’s been a part of the last few albums and we have written some material together. While I am not into turning artistic endeavour into a competition, it’s definitely a great place for Chris to showcase his enormous talent, we are all behind him and know he has worked hard to earn the slot.”
Picture
_In addition to Marshall’s uncompromising compositional skills and technical guitar wizardry, the forthcoming album "Channelling The Infinite" has been reinforced by vocalists who have earned their place in history, such as Udo Dirkschneider (Accept, U.D.O.), Rob Rock (Impellitteri, Driver), Steve Grimmett (Grim Reaper, Lionsheart), Mike Dimeo (Masterplan / Riot), Ronny Munroe (Metal Church / TSO) to name a few.

'Channelling the Infinite' will be released June 1st in Japan and June 6th worldwide.
