Irish Modern Metal act Words That Burn are proud to unleash their new single and official video "When We're Forgotten". "When We're Forgotten" single has been produced by Josh Robinson in JSR Studios, Belfast and mastered by Alan Douches in West West Side Studios, New York.

The band stated:

"WTB are super excited to share our video for When We’re Forgotten with you. It is our first time working with Carl Quinn and the rest of the guys in Empty Horoscope Media. He is by far one of the most professional, dedicated and easy to work with people we have dealt with. Even though this was his baby he kept us in the loop throughout the entire process. From initial concept, we knew that this video a big task  - The production was huge, there was a lot of people involved, multiple locations, pyro & special effects -  so we are absolutely stoked with the end result.

This song is a snap shot of the new direction that we are taking as a band so we wanted to come out guns blazing. We wanted something visually striking to compliment the song. I think we got that!"

Taking musical & sonic influence from bands such as Deftones, Bring me the Horizon, Slipknot, Northlane, Killswitch Engage, Architects and The Defiled, Words That Burn compiled an album of hook laden tracks which saw the album chart at Number 1 in the Irish Metal, Irish Rock and Irish mainstream iTunes download charts. Over the course of 2016/2017, Words That Burn completed an Irish tour with a plethora of shows the length and breadth of the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, followed by the video release of ‘Mirror Perfect Mannequin’, which led to a slew of European dates in Hungary, Romania, Slovenia, Poland and the Czech Republic, including a main-stage performance at the Exit Festival in Serbia alongside Destruction, Discharge and Black Dahlia Murder. Currently in the studio writing the follow-up to "Regret is for the Dead”.

Irish Extreme Metallers Seznar arise from the ashes of Coldwar

27/4/2018

Picture

From the ashes of Dublin veterans Coldwar, Seznar have emerged, even more enraged and potent as before delving far into philosophies and marrying it with the raw energy of extreme metal.

Vocalist Trevor McLave explains that:-

"Inspiration behind the name derives out of numerous relating sources. The argument put forward in Ernst Cassirer’s essay on man, where he argues man is a symbolic animal being one. Senzar, as the mystery of the mystery language, whether this be mythological or not, is in my opinion, in itself a measurelessly potent idea for a name. With regards to Coldwar. That was a project with which the line-up varied over the years. It was consistently transforming. The later Coldwar was by all rights something other than what it had started as. Due to dynamics and politics from within the band it transpired the time was right to allow what was manifesting to become something within its own right. Which is exactly what it now is."

The band will release their untitled debut record, an EP on 20th July 2018 via Hostile Media, and today have released the first taste of what's the come.

Listen To 'CII' - https://youtu.be/3eTIu4LiEl8

McLave adds:-

"Not to be pedantic but, it’s not a self-titled release, it’s non-titled. We wanted to take our musical ideas a lot further than we were able to with Coldwar, elements of which were hinted at on Pantheist. Creating atmosphere and soundscapes which hold measureless potency, correlating with the lyrics and retaining raw energy and heaviness was our goal. Regarding the lyrics, I guess there are rudiments of consideration regarding mankind’s position in the greater scheme of the cosmos. Beyond that, it really is something purposely devised as being unfixed, thus open to beholders interpretation."

Picture

Characteristically esoteric, Senzar are inspired by the relation of the human condition to the complexity and mystery of the cosmos. Motivated by the obscure yet intelligible patterns of order from chaos and our natural creative impulse, and being influenced by the darker, more challenging cultural output of modernity, they articulate a metaphysical engagement between the self and the natural world.

"The music is an endeavour to explore the unity and multiplicity of Being," states vocalist Trevor McLave. "Both interpretive and descriptive, it explores beyond the scope of the rational gaze to disclose the world, which, understood as a totality of all things, we are embedded in, and fundamentally related to in ways which are mystical."

Ireland's Coscradh stream Invictus debut EP via Decibel online

21/11/2017

Picture

Black / Death mavericks Coscradh stream the entirety of their highly anticipated new EP, Of Death and Delirium, at Decibel magazine's website. Set for international release on November 24th via Invictus Productions, hear Coscradh's Of Death and Delirium in its entirety exclusively HERE.

Just last year, Invictus unfurled Coscradh's self-titled debut demo, which subsequently went on to reap international acclaim. Here, Coscradh presented a new revelation in the Irish black/death metal underground, and yet another extremely promising newcomer fostered by Invictus. An auspicious start, with its ever-swarming sensation of hideousness and eldritch dread, but along comes Of Death and Delirium to eclipse that.

Every element of Of Death and Delirium takes its predecessor to more extreme lengths. Playing, production, songwriting, atmosphere: verily, this is the severest Metal of Death given fuller flight and more far flung into the great abyss. Gnarled and gnawing, possessive of a molten muscularity that always threatens to explode into chaos, Coscradh now finesse their towering creations with a keen attention to nuance; underneath, the primordial waters of time eternal swirl ever more dangerously and direly. Spewing forth three despair-ridden odes to suffering, violence, and madness, Of Death and Delirium confesses a cacophony of death metal majesty that soundtracks horrors seen and unseen - and within, Coscradh stand intrepid, in control but fatefully locked into a state of primal psychosis.

Titled truly, as both manifesto and momentum, Of Death and Delirium is Coscradh's first grand strike upon the world stage. Feel its entire wrath exclusively HERE, courtesy of Decibel, North America's only monthly metal magazine.

Scotland's Alestorm unveils details about anniversary album

2/11/2017

Picture

Oh wow! Back in 2008, Alestorm were mere newcomers and beginners - and yet they created a modern metal classic and a completely new subgenre. Captain Morgan`s Revenge marks the birth of Pirate Metal as we know it today and turned a couple of young Scotsmen into the hottest band the modern metal scene has to offer! Ten years later and sold-out shows all over the world, their boozy debut gets its well-deserved anniversary treatment and will be re-released on January 26th 2018 with Napalm Records!

Captain Morgan`s Revenge – 10th Anniversary Edition has received a fresh remix and remastering by original producer Lasse Lammert at his LSD studios and will be coming with a rejuvenated artwork. Alongside the 'Live At Summer Breeze' bonus disc, this re-release will be a true gem for all collectors, new fans and nostalgics alike!

The pirates about their upcoming Anniversary Edition:

"Oh wow! Can't believe it's been 10 years already since we made this record. We were all terrible musicians back then, and it was only thanks to the immense skill of our producer Lasse Lammert that we managed to salvage a passable bunch of songs. But anyway, it seems a bunch of you people seemed to like this album, so we decided to give it a bit of spit and polish for the 10th anniversary. NO, this is not one of those shitty 'brickwall' remasters that some bands do, and NO, this is not a re-recording by a bunch of disinterested and jaded old musicians. We've taken the original multitrack source material from 10 years ago (bad playing, cheap keyboards, awful vocals and everything), and just re-mixed the whole album to be punchier, tighter, more dynamic, and more sonically delightful than before. You probably won't even notice the difference! But it's there. And it'll sound awesome on vinyl, for the first time ever!"

Captain Morgan`s Revenge – 10th Anniversary Edition, coming as CD digi pack, LP gatefold and digital download, is now available for pre-order HERE!

Ireland's Overoth premiere their 'God Of Delusion' music video via Overdrive.ie

6/10/2017

Picture

Late last month Irish death dealers Overoth released their second full length The Forgotten Tome via Hostile Media. With no less than ten tracks and over 40 minutes of extreme metal laden with orchestration, and artwork from none other than Will Simpson (Game Of Thrones, DC Comics), the quartet’s grand opus has seen praise from fans and the metal press the world over.

“If there was ever a perfect example of what death metal is, I would have to say that this would be it.” said one writer from Mayhem Music Magazine, while Dayal Patterson of Metal Hammer stated, “The Forgotten Tome is, above all, a very ambitious album, carefully constructed and not afraid to draw from different sources in order to create as powerful a sound as possible.” New York based writer Matt Bacon recently published on his website that “The Forgotten Tome is perhaps the UK’s best death metal offering to be,” while Paul Castles posted on Antichrist Magazine that the album was a “frostbitten steamroller with the blastbeats descending form the heavens like meteors, while further barbed wire riffage ensures hostility levels remain racketed up the max”.

Today the band has teamed up with Overdrive to reveal the second video from the album, a track entitled ‘God Of Delusion’. Watch the video here: http://www.overdrive.ie/overoth-unveil-god-delusion-video-watch

Filmed by Adam Edgerley and edited by Chris Bevan, ‘God Of Delusion’ was filmed in a dying wood in County Down, Northern Ireland. “It was a real nightmare of a location to get to,” states the band. “The wood itself was quite dense, so there was no chance we’d get our vehicles close to the location we had scouted, so with nothing but manpower we had to lug all our gear, generators, lights, camera gear, up and over hills, over streams and dead tress… they were everywhere… and it was a little sketchy at times, because we were surrounded by these massive trees, that with not much force would and were falling over. Needless to say, we all got out alive.”

Cradle Of Filth announce new album details and UK Ireland tour

16/6/2017

Picture

The UK's legendary extreme metal icons Cradle Of Filth have announced the details for the band's upcoming 12th full-length album.

‘Cryptoriana - The Seductiveness Of Decay’ will be released on September 22nd via Nuclear Blast. You can view the stunning cover artwork by Artūrs Bērziņš below. Bērziņš is the mastermind behind the new record’s artwork, photography and videography – best known for his defiant neo-symbolism raster graphics and oil paintings; postmodern interpretations of classic myths. He has been proclaimed as a “sacred monster of Latvian postmodernism”.

Commented the infamous Dani Filth:

"The album is deeply infused with Victorian gothic horror and thus the title is a reflection of that. 'Cryptoriana' implies the Victorian's infatuation with the supernatural, the grave and the ghoulish. And the subtitle 'The Seductiveness Of Decay' further cements this attraction to death and the glittering lengthy process of self-annihilation."

The first single off ‘Cryptoriana - The Seductiveness Of Decay’ will be released on July 5th, the same day that the album pre-order will become available.

Picture

‘Cryptoriana - The Seductiveness Of Decay’ was recorded at Grindstone Studios, Suffolk, UK by the very honourable Scott Atkins, esq. who has been the resident go-to producer for Cradle Of Filth for several albums. Dani sat in during the mix, serving up flaming mugs of teas, making the studio couch his own and lending his ears when necessary.

Picture

The band have also announced their first full scale UK and Ireland tour in years, starting in Belfast, Northern Ireland on 30th October.

Added Dani Filth:

"We, as a band, are incredibly excited about hitting the UK and Ireland for a full run of dates around All Hallows Eve, as playing the band's home country is always great fun and the audiences here are very receptive. And nuts. The dates will be the first in a long line of shows that will extend throughout the rest of the World throughout 2018. We aim to be very prolific on the live front, delivering a show worthy of our fan’s exalted expectations and more"
