Spanish modern metallers Synlakross are happy and proud to share the name and cover of their new EP: "Ideas Are Bulletproof"
The band comments on the new EP:
"It's a declaration of intentions. You can't kill an idea. Good ideas are stubborn, just like us.
Music is alive and will never die. We will not allow it. They can't feed our brains with misery and submission.
We feel the same passion as when we started. But now we are better musicians, and it's time to prove it, and it's time to celebrate it.
We've broken down to the core the first songs we recorded and we've recomposed and rewritten them whole. The essence was good, and now they are much better songs. We can't wait to share them with you!
Thank you very much to all of you who have supported us all these years. To those who never bet on us, we thank you too.
In a few days the pre orders and new merch will be available. Stay tuned!"
Art Gate Records are proud to announce melodic death metal act Death & Legacy as the new artist to join their international roster of talents.
Death & Legacy was founded in Zamora (Spain) in 2013, morphing their sound over the years to a more aggressive tone, forging a strong basis that is able to explode your head in to a million pieces.
The band takes inspiration from the structures and elements of classic metal with the extreme and modern vibes of the scene's newest generation, blending neck breaking riffs with clean and screaming vocals & growls from the abyss.
In the words of Iván Magdalena (CEO):
"I'm really passionate about this band. I have been following them for a while and I honestly think Death & Legacy are aiming to become one of the strongest line ups emerging from the Spanish underground metal scene. A shocking image with powerful anthems".
After releasing their last album “Inf3rno” and sharing stages with well known acts such as The Agonist, Saratoga, Leo Jimenez, Zenobia, Bloodhunter and Hynphernia, the band is already warming up for their upcoming album in 2023!
Finnish melodic death metal band Anima Hereticae has released a 12 minute long music video short film from the song Constellation Of Capricorn. The released video is shot for the final song of the debut EP and it is the band's second video. The band's music is a mixture of melancholic and mystic death metal. The Bands song themes are inspired by the northern nature and it’s mysthicisma and the new video explores this concept even further.
The band describes the process:-
“We have had an idea of a video with an apocalyptic setup for quite a while. It was exciting to see how someone outside the band would see our vision. It was pretty clear from the very beginning that the producers Atte Santala & Jenna Wáthen would be able to interpret our band's theme to the apocalyptic setting. It was a real acid test for our concept. It seems that our music and themes can be visualized beyond Vikings, castles and mountains. To the future, that is.”

Formed in 2014, Once Human have steadily established themselves as one of the most distinctive and destructive metal bands of the modern era. Founded by guitarist Logan Mader (ex-Machine Head) and vocalist Lauren Hart, the LA-based quintet have had noses to the grindstone throughout their existence, exhibiting a tireless dedication to live performance and a meticulous approach to capturing their crushing anthems for posterity.
Over the course of two full-length albums – 2015’s widely hailed debut The Life I Remember, and 2017’s conceptual tour-de-force Evolution – Once Human have pursued a militantly individual path, eschewing contemporary cliché in favour of a versatile and sinewy new strain of brutal but accessible metal, with Lauren’s coruscating vocals providing an endlessly emotive and humane focal point.
Four years on from their last album, Once Human are primed and ready to launch a fresh assault on hearts and ears. With a line-up completed by long-time bassist Damien Rainaud, drummer Dillon Trollope and second guitarist (and now chief riff-writer) Max Karon, the band have mutated into an even more devastating beast, as demonstrated with face-ripping aplomb on new album Scar Weaver.
Logan Mader comments:-
“It was not an easy path to reach this point, I’ll tell you that. The original masterplan for the band was really passion-project driven. The first two albums, we were still finding our way. Where we’re at now is with a really strong posture and by far the best album we’ve done. Over the years we’ve done a lot of groundwork and some smaller tours, just grinding things out, sometimes even in a DIY fashion. But now we have legit team around us, the band is firing on all cylinders and everything seems to be lining up this time.”
Pieced together over the last two years, Scar Weaver represents a massive step forward for Once Human. Blessed (or perhaps cursed) with plenty of additional time during the last year’s lockdown situation, the band have been able to refine and redefine their sound, inspired by a sudden creative surge from latest recruit, Max Karon. The result is an gloriously idiosyncratic modern metal record, with Lauren Hart’s career-best vocal performance just one of its dazzling revelations. With Once Human’s most intense and explosive music to work with, the singer has pushed herself to new heights, showcasing a vastly expanded vocal range in the process.
Logan adds that:-
“I always had a tremendous amount of belief in Lauren’s ability to be a legit frontwoman, but when this began she was new, and so there was a lot of development to happen over time. She’s really blossomed. She’s grown a lot as a vocalist, a performer and a lyricist through all of this.”
“Vocally, I’ve changed a lot since the last record. My screams got lower and the cleans became stronger. I’ve become much more comfortable with clean singing through touring with (US power metal legends) Kamelot, because they really pushed me to do that. I’ve learned a lot about my voice since then. But a lot of this starts with Max’s melodies, and sometimes I felt like it would be cheating to just growl over these amazing pieces of music, and it’d be so much better to do something that complements it. So sometimes the growls have melody too!”
As its title suggests, Scar Weaver is an album that brims and bulges with notions of pain, trauma and darkness. Lauren has once again penned a stunning collection of emotionally raw diatribes, but in contrast to Evolution’s overriding concept, the new record takes a more scattershot approach, reflecting the chaos of the modern world along the way. From visceral opener "Eidolon" to the corrosive claustrophobia of the closing "Only In Death," all human life is alive and screaming on Scar Weaver.
Lauren admits that:-
“The songs are all really individual. One of them is about blood diamonds. 'Deadlock' is about the politics of everything that’s going on. A lot of them toy with my philosophy of death and all of that. But in comparison to Evolution, because of the energy of the world, these lyrics have a much more dire tone. Evolution was more triumphant, because I wanted people to feel uplifted. I really tried with this album to be positive, but then I’d look at what I’d written and it was a downer! I guess the energy of the world right now helped me to write those lyrics.”
One instant highlight of the new Once Human record is preview single "Deadlock," featuring a typically imperious vocal cameo from Machine Head’s Robb Flynn. Logan Mader’s history with Machine Head is well documented, not least in recent times when he toured the globe with Robb for the Bay Area band’s Burn My Eyes 25th Anniversary Tour. As a result, this new collaboration needs no explanation, but Lauren remains thrilled by the whole experience.
“It was absolutely amazing, are you kidding?” she grins. “I didn’t believe it was happening until he sent something back and I heard his voice on our song. I was like, ‘Holy crap! This is real!’ He came back with a new chorus and it was so much better than mine, so my chorus was gone! [Laughs] But then performing with him in the video, that was insane. The energy he brings on stage, he brings in person too. It was a great experience and his energy is so powerful. The video came out amazing!”
As the world begins to open back up, Once Human, fresh off Cradle of Filth's Lustmord and Tourgasm tour, are in the strongest position of their careers so far. Scar Weaver is a manifestly superior piece of work, with countless unforgettable hooks, riffs and moments of warped savagery (if the riff at the end of "Deserted" doesn’t make you want to run through a brick wall, check your pulse!) colliding to create a record of true originality and rare intensity.
“We’ve gotten through so many things along the way, we’re in a really strong place,” Logan avows. “Nothing can fuck us up now. That’s an important factor in this band – that internal energy.”
The perfect, invigorating antidote to the state of stasis that we’ve all endured over the last two years, Scar Weaver is the sound of a great band becoming greater, hitting their stride and discovering new levels of power, passion and punch in the process. As the world begins to open its doors once more, Once Human are fully equipped to launch their biggest and most life-affirming assault on the world’s senses.
“We have an amazing record, we’re ready to crush it, we have a really good chemistry between all of us,” says Logan. “We’re really good friends, and that’s really important. I think you can feel that when you see us onstage, like, ‘These guys are actually happy to be here and they like each other!’ That’s a bonus. It doesn’t have to be like that. But luckily we have a really cool, strong bond. It’s so important for us to get out there and connect with people in a real life environment.”

Spanish modern melodic death metal outfit SynlakrosS have just released a new music video in the live session format, with the song 'Okami', included in their new album “0K4M1” which was released internationally last April through Blood Blast Distribution (Nuclear Blast).
Check it out here:- https://youtu.be/EWO0nOe0U1w
Being a thematic album, each song tells us a moment in the life of the half-human, half-alien creature called 0K4M1. This song, 'Okami', tells us the story that takes place when 0K4M1 reaches maturity and they begin to worship him as a god. The god of death. They start calling it Okami, which means wolf in Japanese, due to its fierceness and ability to kill.
The video was produced and recorded by Guillem Sampedro at Novo Estudios, the same place where the band recorded this album; recorded and produced by Facundo Novo. Soon they'll release a new live session, with the song 'Stardust', included in the new album “0K4M1”
Napalm Records is proud to announce the signing of the outstanding progressive / melodic death metal band Persefone. Hailing out of Andorra, the five-piece outfit is known for the creation of rich soundscapes and technically precise work that sets new standards in modern extreme progressive metal.
Founded in 2001, Persefone has released five studio albums, each one showcasing the band’s myriad of musical principles: high technicality, distinct melodies, plenty of head-turning riffs and musical acrobatics. The band has toured worldwide with notable acts like Obituary and Leprous, and has hit the stages of important festivals such as Wacken Open Air, Metal Days, Brutal Assault, ProgPower and 70,000 Tons of Metal.
For their previous albums, the band collaborated with producers such as Jens Bogren (At The Gates, Haken, The Ocean), Logan Mader (Gojira, Periphery, Once Human) and Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Amaranthe, Epica). Recently, Persefone finished recording their sixth studio album, which will be released in early 2022. The album is mixed by David Castillo, who has worked with genre greats like Leprous, Soen and Opeth, and mastered by Tony Lindgren (Enslaved, Ihsahn, Sepultura).
Persefone comment on the signing:-
"We are excited to announce that we have signed a worldwide deal with the renowned label Napalm Records. Since we started working on the new album, we knew we wanted to bring this whole experience that is Persefone to a new level. Teaming up with Napalm Records will allow us to reach a new stage we couldn’t get to otherwise and we can't wait to show you all what we’ve been working on these last few years. Stay tuned for more announcements about our new album and tours coming up!
The amount of hours and resources we have put into this release is way beyond any other album we have ever conceived. We have put the question mark on every little detail - from the writing process to the very last production element. Also, the commitment David has shown during this whole process definitely shows in the final sound of the album as it sounds huge, powerful and very organic. For us, every new album means a new challenge to surpass and this particular one has been no exception. For the first time ever we couldn’t be happier with the result. Much love.”
Sebastian Muench, A&R at Napalm Records adds:-
"Persefone's album ‘Aathma’ is unquestionably one of most creative and inspiring progressive metal albums of the last decade! Having eagerly listened to some of the new songs, fans can expect another masterpiece! I am looking forward to working with Persefone and the Welkin Entertainment Management around Tim and Rahul. Welcome to the Napalm family!"
The album’s release is planned for early 2022. Stay tuned for more news!
Italian melodic death metallers Hell's Guardian are back with a new powerful and epic single called “Sentenced”.
The band comments:
“This single will not anticipate an album but in this difficult time we felt the need to release new material for ourselves and our fans. ‘Sentenced' is an ultimatum of the Earth asking for mercy from mankind and to become aware of our actions because we are destroying it. This strong theme led us to have an apocalyptic sound, tight rhythms, impactful guitar riffs, orchestral parts from typical classical instruments to oriental melodies thanks also to the choirs of Marco Pastorino, who took care of the production of the vocal lines.”
In May of this year the band entered the studio at “Media Factory” in Esine (Brescia, Italy) under the guidance of Fabrizio Romani who also mixed and mastered the single. The orchestral parts were conceived by Samuele Faulisi (Atlas Pain) while the choirs and the production of the vocal lines are the work of Marco Pastorino (Temperance, Virtual Symmetry).
The representative artwork was created by the famous Gustavo Sazes (AMARANTHE, KAMELOT, ARCH ENEMY, MACHINE HEAD). The video was made by Tiziano Spigno and Andrea Buratto Truck Me Hard.
Hell's Guardian were formed in 2009 and released a self-titled demo in 2010, a full-length album entitled “Follow Your Fate” in 2013, an EP “Ex Adversis Resurgo” in 2015 and a second album "As Above So Below" in 2018 which marked an international milestone by opening the doors to important tours with bands such as Sabaton, Amorphis, Children Of Bodom and Trivium.
Portuguese melodic death metallers Apotheus release new video for "Staring The Abyss" (first post-pandemic live show)
Portuguese melodic death metal titans Apotheus just released a new video for the track “Staring the Abyss”, taken from their latest full-length "The Far Star".
You can watch the video at this location: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XGqUI_pEcVE
“Staring the Abyss” is about despair and loss, but it also paves the way for a fallback plan in which everyone puts their hopes. After such a dark terrible loss for everyone, the band has decided to bring you a glimpse of light. This video captures very well the joy and excitement of what happened at our first post-pandemic live show. It’s hard to put into words the feeling of rediscovering what truly drives them.
In essence, this is what “The Far Star” is about: a journey, with terrible losses and majestic wins, but above all, it’s about never giving up.
