Spanish modern melodic death metal outfit SynlakrosS have just released a new music video in the live session format, with the song 'Okami', included in their new album “0K4M1” which was released internationally last April through Blood Blast Distribution (Nuclear Blast). Check it out here:- https://youtu.be/EWO0nOe0U1w Being a thematic album, each song tells us a moment in the life of the half-human, half-alien creature called 0K4M1. This song, 'Okami', tells us the story that takes place when 0K4M1 reaches maturity and they begin to worship him as a god. The god of death. They start calling it Okami, which means wolf in Japanese, due to its fierceness and ability to kill. The video was produced and recorded by Guillem Sampedro at Novo Estudios, the same place where the band recorded this album; recorded and produced by Facundo Novo. Soon they'll release a new live session, with the song 'Stardust', included in the new album “0K4M1”

Napalm Records is proud to announce the signing of the outstanding progressive / melodic death metal band Persefone. Hailing out of Andorra, the five-piece outfit is known for the creation of rich soundscapes and technically precise work that sets new standards in modern extreme progressive metal. Founded in 2001, Persefone has released five studio albums, each one showcasing the band’s myriad of musical principles: high technicality, distinct melodies, plenty of head-turning riffs and musical acrobatics. The band has toured worldwide with notable acts like Obituary and Leprous, and has hit the stages of important festivals such as Wacken Open Air, Metal Days, Brutal Assault, ProgPower and 70,000 Tons of Metal. For their previous albums, the band collaborated with producers such as Jens Bogren (At The Gates, Haken, The Ocean), Logan Mader (Gojira, Periphery, Once Human) and Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Amaranthe, Epica). Recently, Persefone finished recording their sixth studio album, which will be released in early 2022. The album is mixed by David Castillo, who has worked with genre greats like Leprous, Soen and Opeth, and mastered by Tony Lindgren (Enslaved, Ihsahn, Sepultura). Persefone comment on the signing:- "We are excited to announce that we have signed a worldwide deal with the renowned label Napalm Records. Since we started working on the new album, we knew we wanted to bring this whole experience that is Persefone to a new level. Teaming up with Napalm Records will allow us to reach a new stage we couldn’t get to otherwise and we can't wait to show you all what we’ve been working on these last few years. Stay tuned for more announcements about our new album and tours coming up! The amount of hours and resources we have put into this release is way beyond any other album we have ever conceived. We have put the question mark on every little detail - from the writing process to the very last production element. Also, the commitment David has shown during this whole process definitely shows in the final sound of the album as it sounds huge, powerful and very organic. For us, every new album means a new challenge to surpass and this particular one has been no exception. For the first time ever we couldn’t be happier with the result. Much love.” Sebastian Muench, A&R at Napalm Records adds:- "Persefone's album ‘Aathma’ is unquestionably one of most creative and inspiring progressive metal albums of the last decade! Having eagerly listened to some of the new songs, fans can expect another masterpiece! I am looking forward to working with Persefone and the Welkin Entertainment Management around Tim and Rahul. Welcome to the Napalm family!" The album’s release is planned for early 2022. Stay tuned for more news! Persefone is:
Persefone online: Italian melodic death metallers Hell’s Guardian release new single and video for “Sentenced”10/7/2021 Italian melodic death metallers Hell's Guardian are back with a new powerful and epic single called “Sentenced”.
The band comments: “This single will not anticipate an album but in this difficult time we felt the need to release new material for ourselves and our fans. ‘Sentenced' is an ultimatum of the Earth asking for mercy from mankind and to become aware of our actions because we are destroying it. This strong theme led us to have an apocalyptic sound, tight rhythms, impactful guitar riffs, orchestral parts from typical classical instruments to oriental melodies thanks also to the choirs of Marco Pastorino, who took care of the production of the vocal lines.” In May of this year the band entered the studio at “Media Factory” in Esine (Brescia, Italy) under the guidance of Fabrizio Romani who also mixed and mastered the single. The orchestral parts were conceived by Samuele Faulisi (Atlas Pain) while the choirs and the production of the vocal lines are the work of Marco Pastorino (Temperance, Virtual Symmetry). The representative artwork was created by the famous Gustavo Sazes (AMARANTHE, KAMELOT, ARCH ENEMY, MACHINE HEAD). The video was made by Tiziano Spigno and Andrea Buratto Truck Me Hard. Hell's Guardian were formed in 2009 and released a self-titled demo in 2010, a full-length album entitled “Follow Your Fate” in 2013, an EP “Ex Adversis Resurgo” in 2015 and a second album "As Above So Below" in 2018 which marked an international milestone by opening the doors to important tours with bands such as Sabaton, Amorphis, Children Of Bodom and Trivium.
Portuguese melodic death metal titans Apotheus just released a new video for the track “Staring the Abyss”, taken from their latest full-length "The Far Star". You can watch the video at this location: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XGqUI_pEcVE “Staring the Abyss” is about despair and loss, but it also paves the way for a fallback plan in which everyone puts their hopes. After such a dark terrible loss for everyone, the band has decided to bring you a glimpse of light. This video captures very well the joy and excitement of what happened at our first post-pandemic live show. It’s hard to put into words the feeling of rediscovering what truly drives them. In essence, this is what “The Far Star” is about: a journey, with terrible losses and majestic wins, but above all, it’s about never giving up. Links:
Saudi Arabia’s Wasted Land has a new single coming out entitled “Fade Away”, this is following their self-titled 2013 album. Since that full-length, the band suggests that they have evolved over time from being melody and folk focused into something heavier, but still having a strong melodic base. “Fade Away” has been in the works since 2017, and will be the first music video from the band, which can be viewed at https://youtu.be/a66F36A8FDw Lyrically, the single talks about someone having severe depression and comparing his journey in life to that of a candle, getting shorter and shorter until it eventually burns out. Then he finds his soul’s salvation after his death. Musically, it starts with heavy doses of melody which are complimented by heavy riffs and even more melodies. To contribute to the theme of depression and life’s waning, it carries a sombre and melancholic tune near the end. The band comments on the track: “It’ll be a new mixture from our old folkish style with more heavy catchy riffs and chorus. We hope we can catch the attention from the old fans and attract new ones.” For Wasted Land, they compose the music first and then create lyrics that fit. For this song in particular guitarist Ayman composed the lyrics a long time ago for his previous band Banj. Writing for the band is a joint endeavour between guitarists Ayman and Ahmed whenever they jam together. Vocalist Emad adds his flavours in the lyrics and of course the vocal lines. Wasted Land originally formed in 2005 to participate in Metal II gig in Dammam. Ahmed and Ayman were jamming together and felt there was chemistry between them while composing folky melodic death metal. From there they decided to add more members to create a full band. They were one of the first Saudi metal bands to get massive media exposure from outlets like CNN, BBC radio and other local and international newspapers. Recommended for fans of In Flames, Dark Tranquillity, and Suidakra. “Fade Away” is available for stream and download via Saudi Arabian based label Wall of Sound Records. Synlakross explained the concept of the album in this way: “This album is completely different from our previous albums. This time you are part of history, how? The album is a message sent by the creature 0K4M1, and you are the one who receives this message from millions of light years away. Like a message in a bottle. At the end of the listening, you must choose if you want to keep it a secret, or if you want to share it with others. And who is 0K4M1?0K4M1 is a creature created by humans from a synthetic embryo and alien DNA.Created to be a lethal weapon, the new Antichrist. Before dying, it decides to record its life experience and share it with everyone who receives this message.Because perhaps its experience can ease the listener's existential pain and suffering. It’s a sad but beautiful album, dark but full of energy. ” Available on all digital platforms. The band experiments with a vast array of musical styles such as jazz, classical, folkloric music, and Latin music while keeping a very strong melodic death metal accent. Today, the band is asking fans to come dance La Valse des condamnés! with the premiere of the video for “Kraken” via Bravewords HERE. Sanguine Glacialis explains the song in their own words: “This is the third and last single from our album “Hadopelagic”. It’s actually the first song that was written when we finished the recording of our first album “Dancing with a Hanged Man”, and because of that, you can clearly hear the influences of the first album and former line-up. It’s a song that we all liked, so we decided to keep it and adapt it to our new line-up. The lyrics talk about a man who goes to sea, knowing well that a monster awaits him, and despite the warnings of the people around him, unfortunately never comes back. The music video is centred on this story, showing a ghost ship wandering the seas, reliving the passengers’ deaths in the hands of the Kraken, forever.” “Hadopelagic” is the second full-length album from Sanguine Glacialis, following 2012’s “Dancing With A Hanged Man” and 2016’s EP “Pitch Black Sight”. The beauty of Sanguine Glacialis is that their influences shine through prominently in their music, and each song has its own atmosphere, taking from a unique slice of the musical spectrum. With this album, the band took a huge step forward and fans have been appreciating its mature sound much more than the previous one. According to the band, everything is better on this release and they are proud of the new direction they have taken. There has been talk of writing another album and getting back to live performances in the not too distant future. Fans of Fleshgod Apocalypse, Between the Buried and Me, and Diablo Swing Orchestra will likely be interested in the genre-bending sounds of Sanguine Glacialis. “Hadopelagic” was released on April 6, 2018 and available on the following platforms: Sanguineglacialis.bandcamp.com, Apple Music, Amazon, Spotify.
