Iranian modern metalcore outfit One Missing Link unleash new music video for 'Shadows Inside'

Metalcore band One Missing Link returns with a fresh new music video for 'Shadows Inside'.  Since their last creative effort "The Monstrosity" featuring vocalist Nikan Nasim and guitarist Mahan Abdollahi, One Missing Link has become a quartet with the addition of drummer Kiumars Saffari and bassist, Nima Mohammadi.

Shadows Inside Out Now Via Tough Sounds:  https://fanlink.to/shadowsinside

One Missing Link's latest creative effort 'Shadows Inside' deals with the concept of duality within the human consciousness and how the conscious and usually the righteous 'self' converses with the invariably corrupt 'spectre' who creeps up on the 'self' with intrusive and usually destructive thoughts.

Some words about 'Shadows Inside' by vocalist Nikan:

“This song is about a conversation with a half-life spectre of our own self within the heart; it’s the part of us that desires evil things; should you ever succumb to it, it leaves you with the consequences. But the truth is, you control both "yourself" and the "spectre,"; this begs the question, how can we overwhelm all these temptations in our daily lives? This song calls for a victory rush against all the black dots inside our personalities that could blacken our hearts.”

'Shadows Inside' was mixed and mastered by Finnish producer "Joonas Vuojolahti" at Cold Truth Music Studio and was released through Tough Sounds. The music video of 'Shadows Inside', which premiered on Spaceuntravel, was filmed and edited by "Amirhosein Esmaeili"/

Devastating metalcore grooves with post hardcore sensibilities, One Missing Link prove themselves to be the Iranian representatives of the new wave of core.

Coloured by the integrity of outfits like Wage War, The Black Dahlia Murder, and Motionless in White, One Missing Link combines the extremity of rusty metalcore noises with the fragility of unstable apperception.

The band's initial inception started with vocalist Nikan Nasim and guitarist Ali Mostanbet's cover of the Architects song 'Royal Beggars' in 2020. They released their first original single, "Shivers," a year later, after the departure ofAli Mostanbet.

After signing with the first Iranian Metal Label Tough Sounds, One Missing Link made a comeback with the release of "The Monstrosity," and "Shadows Inside" from their upcoming EP 'The Other Side'.

After riling up the public with their energetic live shows and active social media presence, Japanese metalcore veterans Sailing Before the Wind are back this month with the release of their new single ‘Neo Chronicle’, featuring Jei Doublerice of Despite Exile.

Bass player, composer and longest member of Sailing Before the Wind Bitoku Sakamoto has teased fans with a statement about what fans can expect from the new single:-

“My roots are in melodic hard rock, it’s a style we have touched on past releases. This time I tried to present that more clearly because it's natural for me. When it came to picking a feature, I did not want to lose the heaviness of metalcore, which is how Jei Doublerice came to mind. We’ve performed together in Japan back in 2019 and I’m glad we could collaborate this time.”

‘Neo Chronicle’, which was mixed and mastered by Innersound Audio (known for work with InVisions and Glamour of the Kill) is now available on Spotify, Apple Music, and most other online  streaming platforms. It is also accompanied by a lyric video created by GHD, check it out on the band’s YouTube.

The Tokyo based metalcore band Sailing Before The Wind formed in 2011. The band had numerous line-up changes over the years, currently the band consists of four members, bassist Bitoku with three recruited members. The band made their presence known continuously with seven EP’s and various singles, which includes guest appearances from The Unguided, A Scent Like Wolves, Sienna Skies and more.

Sailing Before The Wind songs frequently feature highly melodic twin guitar leads, metal riffs, and breakdowns, with a variety of influences from many metal sub genres. The band is also noted for their aggressive live performance and synchronized stage presence.

Neo Chronicle will be available on Spotify, Apple Music, and most other online streaming platforms.

Line-up:

American modern tech metallers Vatican share "[Ultragold]" music video

Savannah, Georgia five-piece Vatican will release their new album "Ultra" 17th June via UNFD. Pre-order it here. Now, they have shared the explosive video for "[Ultragold]." Watch it here.

Guitarist Tom Lovejoy shares his thoughts:-

"This is the dopest track on the record. Big BREAKDOWNS, ridiculous RIFFS, and heavy HITTERS. '[ULTRAGOLD]' was written in two hours at 2am while chugging Monster, and never changed from there. Full late night LAN party style. When I hear it, it reminds me of all the reasons I fell in love with hardcore. Everlasting growth, eternal youth, and lyrics that make you grab your friends and throw them into a wall."

If you've not had a chance to witness a Vatican show yet — due to the pandemic or other reasons — allow this video to serve as a primer for the band's volcanic live energy.

After developing a name for themselves and garnering press praise from Revolver, Kerrang!, New Noise, and more with 2019's full-length Sole Impulse, Vatican stormed out of the gates hard in 2021, when they signed to UNFD and released their knockout double single effort Become A New God. Featuring singles "Absolute Reality" and "Fractured God," both of which received full rotation adds on SiriusXM’s Liquid Metal, Become A New God saw Vatican tackling the complexity of the human experience and all its brokenness, uncertainties, strangeness, and need for constant self-reflection and improvement." They followed with "Decemeta," which dropped late last year at Brooklyn Vegan.

Vatican are influenced by the "f**k you" frankness of heavy hardcore, but with the technical leads of djent and progressive metal. Cynical of technology, but enamoured with video games. The band quickly began shaping their sound from nascent metalcore into something more complex and interesting.

By the time Vatican released their first full-length, Sole Impulse, in 2019, they had developed past their exploratory beginnings and were making a fairly serious mark in the scene with a polished, well-performed strain of challenging and confrontational metalcore. But an even more invigorating chapter began when vocalist Mike Sugars entered the fold in October 2020, replacing the band’s former frontman, John Whittle. Sugars had been fronting Indianapolis' Church Tongue, friends of Vatican who just so happened to be slowing down as a band when Sugars was contacted by Soto-Ramos.

The mutual admiration of each other's dopeness led to an instant connection, with Sugars making his recorded debut on last year's Become a New God double single. He quickly infused the band with a new energy, as well an immediately focused lyrical theme of regaining self-control and owning one's problems in such a way that, well, one becomes their own god. Fast-forward to 2022.

With their latest full-length, Ultra, the band have metabolized all their ambitiously varied musical influences and merged them into a forward-thinking approach that pulls in their love of video games and subtle humour, resulting in an impossibly tasteful and wildly varied, post-modern metalcore affair.

As they did on other recent efforts, the band still harken to the complexity of Meshuggah’s polyrhythms and the Dillinger Escape Plan’s technical abrasion, as well as Hatebreed and Turmoil's more straightforward, metallic hardcore foundation – but there's also guitarist Tom Lovejoy's electronics and Sugars' clean singing.

Ultra is infused with the band's overall personality, and what results is a subtle aura of dark satire that's more refined than it sounds on paper. " Above it all, Sugars bellows, barks, and sometimes sings a wide range of topics spanning more emotions than just anger. To be sure, he rages against inhumane billionaires and the ills of nü-internet; grapples with mixed feelings towards his father; and much more.

Motionless In White drop new single "Slaughterhouse" ft. Bryan Garris

16/5/2022

Motionless In White have shared "Slaughterhouse," a brand new song featuring Knocked Loose's Bryan Garris.

"Slaughterhouse" is available today on all streaming platforms and featured on Motionless In White's widely-anticipated new album Scoring The End of the World, due out June 10. The forthcoming album is available to pre-save on all streaming platforms today, with exclusive merch bundles available for pre-order in the band's official store.

Building on the anticipation for Scoring The End of the World, "Slaughterhouse" follows the previously released singles "Masterpiece" and "Cyberhex," the official videos for which quickly trended Top 10 on YouTube and have since amassed over 6 million views. Furthermore, "Masterpiece" continues to grow at the Active Rock radio format, jumping into the Top 30 this week and continuing to grow in audience.

Scoring The End of the World fully encompasses the expanse of the band's dynamic, deep, and dark vision, and marks the band's first full-length body of work in three years since 2019's  Disguise. The latter has quietly made a major impact on rock music and culture. The single "Another Life" stands out as their most-streamed song ever with over 25 million YouTube views on the music video. The record claimed a spot on Loudwire's "50 Best Metal Albums of 2019," plus it ignited the creative renaissance that would set the stage for the statement-making Scoring The End of the World.

Motionless In White harnessed the power of an unholy union between industrial metal dissonance, spellbinding gothic pop bombast, and big screen-worthy iconography to emerge as 21 century rock's most iconoclastic and cinematic force. Climbing out of the shadows of the rustbelt in Scranton, PA, the group has tirelessly earned the undying allegiance of a devout worldwide audience one record at a time.

With over half-a-billion cumulative streams and views to date, they have notched three consecutive Top 5 debuts on the Billboard Top Hard Rock Albums Chart and Top Rock Albums Chart with Reincarnate [2014], Graveyard Shift [2017], and Disguise [2019]. The latter spawned the inescapable "Another Life," which tallied over 100 million streams and counting. Not to mention, Jonathan Davis of Korn, Maria Brink of In This Moment, and Dani Filth of Cradle of Filth have welcomed the opportunity to collaborate.

After countless sold-out gigs and festivals, they co-headlined the Trinity of Terror Tour, selling out venues coast-to-coast. However, everything set the stage for their 2022 opus, Scoring The End of the World. Right out of the gate, the single "Cyberhex" trended Top 10 on YouTube, while the follow-up "Masterpiece" lit up streaming platforms. With guests as diverse Bryan Garris of Knocked Loose, Caleb Shomo of Beartooth, and video game composer Mick Gordon, the album finds the group's vision magnified wider than ever before with no shortage of teeth, fire, and blood. It's the dawn of their biggest chapter yet.

Bulgarian extreme metallers Gwendydd sign with Drakkar Entertainment & unveil new song from upcoming "Censored" album

( Photo: Orlin Nikolov )

Imagine a prime-time talent show on a major national TV channel. Pop starlet after pop starlet are giving their best to lull the audience with their favourite tearjerker. And then there is this innocent girly voice, performing Taylor Swift’s "Look what you made me do". Both audience and jury feel safe and sound. Until the song reaches the first chorus. What happened then, shocked and electrified the studio audience and a whole country in front of their TVs. With her brutal and angst-inducing death metal growls she seems to be ripping apart the original US pop star and spitting her left-overs all over the studio interior. Shock and joy, curiosity and fear melt into ecstatic cheering and a hurricane of applause.

That girl’s name is Victoria Stoichkova and her performance quickly reached more than five million views on You Tube with a bursting comment section full of enthusiasm and cheering. This was the starting point of a career for sure, and what soon should become a full band and Europe’s next up-and-coming, extreme metal hopes GWENDYDD!

Formed in 2018 in Sofia, Bulgaria, GWENDYDD have now inked a worldwide record deal with Drakkar Entertainment for the release of their upcoming, sophomore studio album entitled  Censored! Driven by a modern production, complemented by the mastering fingerprint of Max Morton (Jinjer, Ignea,..), the band‘s vibrant blend of wrecking guitar riffs and adrenalizing drums builds up to an extreme-metal avalanche. The perfect carrier for that brute death metal voice, which cuts deep into the flesh of modern society – not only with words but with a message.

Censored is slated for a release on May 6, 2022 via Drakkar Entertainment, and the album pre-sale is now available at THIS LOCATION. But give ear, as today GWENDYDD also shared a new song taken of their upcoming album - see below.

The song is now streaming on all digital platforms HERE!

"We are so stoked to be working with Drakkar! We truly feel that this is the start of an inspiring symbiosis,“ vocalist Vicky comments.

"Our upcoming album CENSORED is going to be even more brutal and energetic than our debut album Human Nature. We are happy. We are proud. And we can’t wait to share CENSORED with the world!"

Maximilian Föse, Head Of Drakkar Entertainment adds:

"Welcome to the family! We are proud to announce the signing of GWENDYDD! You can hear right away that this is something the metal scene has been waiting for. I was so surprised by how diverse the final product sounded and how GWENDYDD is playing with this style of extreme metal. The new album Censored” is a fantastic record and I'm convinced that there are many, many people out there who will love it too."

Japanese powercore group Bridear announce brand new album 'Aegis Of Athena' out May 13th

10/4/2022

Picture

Japanese metal band Bridear have returned with news of their brand new album, Aegis Of Athena, coming next month, alongside an earth-shaking single. ‘Ray Of Chaos’ soars in on feedback and a crushing riff, before unfolding into a melodic epic with the kind of guitar punch that metal fans will love… all topped off with Kimi’s sweetly sensual vocals.

  • Listen to ‘Ray Of Chaos’ here.

     Aegis of Athena
is a blistering 11-track opus perfectly blending traditional heavy metal, progressive arrangements, and addictive J-rock hooks. Kimi describes the new album as “an ambitious balance of what inspires us – the new wave of British heavy metal and traditional hard rock bands with strong melodies,” while bassist Haru claims “The arrangements and song writing are really powerful. It will be amazing to play these new songs live!”

And ‘Ray Of Chaos’ is a brilliant example of what makes this new album such a huge leap on for the band. “It’s definitely one of our best songs,” says rhythm guitarist Ayumi. “It's a powerful declaration of carving our path and getting the last laugh on those who never believed in us. Bluesy and heavy guitar riffs with a strength conveyed in the lead vocals unlike anything we have done.”

Aegis Of Athena is the band’s fifth album, and the second to be available internationally via their deal with Setsuzoku Records. Having become the first Japanese band to tour internationally since the pandemic struck, they won huge amounts of British and European fans last autumn whilst touring their critically acclaimed Bloody Bride album.

Picture

That record showcased to international fans Bridear’s metallic sonic assault and stunning technical prowess, marrying sincere lyrics with blazing guitars and insatiable pop hooks. Brimming with big riffs and even bigger hooks all tastefully laced with modern metal characteristics, both Aegis Of Athena and Bloody Bride feature furious thrash passages, blistering lead lines and irresistible melodic sensibilities, showcasing J-metal like you’ve never heard it before.

AEGIS OF ATHENA - new album out 13th May.

Fans can pre-order physical copies of Aegis Of Athena, including a special bundle with CD and t-shirt here: www.setsushop.com

Hardcore / thrash band Cage Fight have released the video for new single "Respect Ends." Watch it here. The accompanying video, satisfyingly played out by Cage Fight vocalist Rachel Aspe, arrives as a warning to those that attempt to prey on others.

The singer explains:-

"This song is dedicated to men (or in fact anyone) who thinks it's ok to harass, abuse, make inappropriate comments, or not take no for an answer, both in the real world but also online. It's also a message of solidarity to those who have been victims of such behaviour. The video is symbolic of the frustration and damage this can cause, and it's something we, as a society, should not and will not accept. The final message is clear. If this is how you behave, stay the f**k away. Otherwise, you will regret it."

The band's debut self-titled album is due out May 13 on Candlelight. Pre-order it here. One of the most furious hardcore records to emerge from the UK in recent years, the anger and frustration of Cage Fight's self-titled debut album is the perfect catharsis for our times.

The album's artwork — a grabbing hand with the Cage Fight logo tattooed on the palm — visually portrays the violent rage at the core of the band's music. Legitimately inked by Aspe, a tattoo artist by trade, the process of creating the image is as impactful as the final artwork itself.
