American 'Alchemical' Prog Metallers The 01Experience unveil new single and music video for “Let It Go”
San Francisco-based “Alchemical” progressive metal act The 01Experience has revealed their first music video for the single “Let it Go.”
“Recording this song and making the video was a deep alchemical process in itself,” says Melissa Mari (vocals, electric wind instrument [EWI]). “We noticed how everything in our outer culture that had been happening was reflecting this process of letting go. ‘As above, so below.’”
Watch the video for the epic metal ballad now at https://youtu.be/4ULvWhZ4eRo. “Let it Go” is also available as a digital single at Bandcamp, Spotify and iTunes.
The 01Experience was founded in 2016 by singer Melissa Mari (Death Under Fire) and guitarist Colin E. Davis (Vile). Together the duo began blending modern progressive rock and metal music, influenced by the spiritually-infused music and art of the 1960s, which aimed at raising the consciousness of their audiences, while also drawing from spiritual/shamanic influences. This Alchemical metal tag came as a result of this amalgamation of styles and influences.
Prior to the “Let it Go” single, The 01Experience released the 2017 EP The Code, which was hailed for its deep artistic sound. In 2018, drummer Mike Heller (Fear Factory) and Stephen Paul Goodwin (Vicious Rumors) joined the project.
The 01Experience is:
Melissa Mari – Vocals, EWI
Colin E. Davis – Guitars, Bass
Mike Heller – Drums
Stephen Paul Goodwin - Bass

Finland’s multi-Platinum cello-rock band Apocalyptica have released the video for ‘En Route To Mayhem’, which will transport the viewer to a fantastical post-humanity future. This imaginary world is barren, dusty, and littered with broken pieces of things once considered essential to humankind such as bits of plastic, a teddy bear, crumbling structures, cell phones and computers, bleached bones, and long-forgotten musical instruments. The setting is devoid of mankind, but brimming with the hope of new life; and then one day, thunder, lightning, and one drop at a time, it begins to rain, and Mother Nature steps in. Check out the ‘En Route To Mayhem’ video HERE.
Apocalyptica’s Eicca Toppinen comments:-
“‘En Route To Mayhem’ is a journey of hedonic needs growing into greed and aggression, driving into inner mayhem and ending without satisfaction. This video underlines the fact that however we think we are in control by destroying things and life around us, life itself will take over in the end, always. We are not in control of the bigger picture, and we should be aware of it and raise our respect to life around us.”
The ‘En Route To Mayhem’ video is in support of Apocalyptica’s upcoming album, Cell-0, due out January 10th, 2020 via Silver Lining Music. Produced by Apocalyptica – cellists Eicca Toppinen, Perttu Kivilaakso, and Paavo Lötjönen, and drummer Mikko Sirén and mixed by Andrew Scheps (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Lana Del Rey, Metallica and Black Sabbath), and recorded at Sonic Pump studios in Helsinki.
The recording of Cell-0 followed a four-year break between albums that gave the band a fresh perspective and affected the way they approached the new music. Cell-0 is the quartet's first instrumental album in 17 years and found the musicians challenging themselves to discover new flavours and colours in their respective instruments. For Cell-0 pre-order options, go to this location.
Perttu Kivilaakso comments:-
“Cell-0 has a concept which is to challenge the listeners to question themselves and ask “Am I doing the best I can for the environment, for other beings? Is there still something I can change?”
To highlight environmental issues, the band wanted to ask fans to do something for our planet; so to coincide with the release of the new video, they have launched a very special competition, which will give fans the chance to win the opportunity for Apocalyptica to play in their living room.
To enter, fans will need to show the band how they are making the planet a healthier place for everyone. Fans can head to their Facebook page and comment with photos/videos showing what they are doing to help the planet and telling the band why they should be picked as a winner.
To find out more information, head to the band’s Facebook page. The online contest is open to all European fans from now and will close at 7:00 pm CET Friday, January 10th, 2020. Full terms and conditions can be found here.
In concert, Apocalyptica are known for their moving live performances and will kick off the New Year as Special Guests on Sabaton's 15-country, 23-date European arena tour that begins on January 17, 2020 in Zurich, Switzerland. With a set list that will likely vary night to night, Apocalyptica's performances will be comprised of new songs from Cell-0 as well as from the band's rich catalogue. Tickets are on sale now; go to https://www.apocalyptica.com for all pre-sales, VIP packages, and ticketing details.

The Calgary-based thrash group Hazzerd – whose sophomore album, “Delirium,” will be released Jan. 24 via M-Theory Audio – have unveiled a lyric video for their blistering new song “Victim Of A Desperate Mind.” The clip – which was designed by Rafael Ortega of Ecliptic Visions, and which premiered via BraveWords.com – can be seen at this location: https://youtu.be/mdO6D2VSiSc
“Victim Of A Desperate Mind” is also now available on Spotify, Apple Music, Bandcamp and other digital platforms. In addition, the song is one of two “instant grat” downloads that are included with digital pre-orders of “Delirium.” Physical pre-orders on CD, cassette and limited-edition coloured vinyl can be reserved at www.smarturl.it/hazzerd.
Says drummer Dylan Westendorp:-
“'Victim Of A Desperate Mind' is one of the longer cuts on 'Delirium,' and it has some of the album's darker lyrical content. The song revolves around the topics of addiction, depression and suicide, issues that are unfortunately very real in today’s society. The lyrics are written from the perspective of a person who is trapped in their own mind and stuck with their dark thoughts. Even though these are not the most positive lyrics, we have hope that someone who is going through this type of situation will hear them, relate and realize that they are not alone. Musically, 'Victim' is one of the more complex songs we have written to date. Overall, we feel it's the best song to unveil as the second taste of our upcoming record.”
Last month, Hazzerd premiered “A Tormented Reality,” the first preview track from “Delirium,” via Ross The Boss' Gimme Radio program. A lyric video subsequently premiered on Metal Injection, who called the song “rip-roaring” and said it “leaves absolutely no survivors in its wake.” A third preview track from “Delirium” – which was mixed and mastered by Johnny Gasparic (Into Eternity) and features cover artwork by Andrei Bouzikov (Municipal Waste, Skeletonwitch, Toxic Holocaust) – will be unveiled in January.
Hazzerd was initially formed by drummer/lead vocalist Westendorp and guitarist Brendan Malycky, two Calgary teens who were inspired by the early work of thrash legends such as Overkill, Metallica and Anthrax. The group self-released their debut EP, “Victimize The Innocent,” in 2014. The following year, the band recruited then-18-year-old lead guitarist Toryin Schadlich.
In 2017, soon after solidifying the group's line-up with the addition of bassist David Sprague, Hazzerd recorded their full-length debut, “Misleading Evil,” which was released via Canada's World War Now Records. Featuring cover art by Bouzikov, the record was praised by Metal-Temple.com as “one of the strongest thrash releases of 2017,” while Dead Rhetoric called the album “an exhilarating aural ride” with a “Maiden/Priest-meets-early Metallica vibe.”
This year, Hazzerd caught the attention of M-Theory Audio after being featured on Gimme Radio, where Megadeth founder Dave Mustaine championed the group as a promising thrash hopeful. He also included the band on his personal list of record collection picks, where Hazzerd were one of only two up-and-coming artists (the other being Power Trip) listed.
In recent years, Hazzerd has performed alongside the likes of Striker, Vicious Rumors, Archspire, Spellcaster, and Grim Reaper in addition to playing noted Canadian festivals such as Loud As Hell and Armstrong MetalFest. Lately, the group completed a successful string of shows across Canada supporting Hatchet.

Kazakhstan thrashers Zarraza have released a video for "Chaos 19". The song is taken from their recently released EP Rotten Remains.
Watch the video here: https://youtu.be/a99unHxci0c
Order Rotten Remains here: https://zarraza.bandcamp.com/
The band says:-
"This EP is new but at the same time old. All songs are old – they were written years ago and released on self-produced demos Bullets & Beliefs (2012) and Cutting Meat. Fast & Loud (2013). We decided to re-recorded it fully because we still play some of this shit live. So we carefully dig these remains, inject them with new viruses and put out as EP."
"Also it is our way to honour ex-mates who help us start Zarraza: guitarists Max Saklakov and Damir Yunussov, bass player Alex Filatoff. Guys! Though you escaped from the band you are still infected and keep rotting with us! And last... The EP was recorded with bassist Eugene Hablack who left the band in the middle of the recording process but helps us to finish it. Thanks for your support (though our new bass player Adil Aliakpar is jealous as fuck!)"

The album was produced, engineered, mixed and mastered by Tue Madsen at Antfarm Studios. All artwork was created by Rune Stigart.
The band comments:-
"We are honoured to have signed with one of the world's leading record labels, Nuclear Blast Records! The excitement level of Blood Eagle finally finding the right home to release new material, is higher for us than we can ever express. There are people who want to hear this band, as was evident in the reaction to our performances on multiple European festivals in the last couple of years. We are excited and grateful to be working with the guys at Nuclear Blast, as they strongly will help facilitate and take the Eagle to the next level.
On a musical note, we took all our inspirations from NAPALM DEATH, BOLT THROWER, MORBID ANGEL and a tad (like 2%) of MASTODON and threw them into the musical cooking pot. The result is our new release, 'To Ride In Blood & Bathe In Greed' which was released as three EP's in September, October and November. Out on Nuclear Blast Records."
More on 'To Ride In Blood & Bathe In Greed':
Blood Eagle is a death metal band comprised of former members of VOLBEAT, MNEMIC, HATESPHERE, ILLDISPOSED and RAUNCHY, founded by two ex-guitarists, Franz Hellboss and Mircea Gabriel Eftemie (formerly of VOLBEAT and MNEMIC). After playing for years in their own respective bands, the two guitarists decided to team up and consolidate their passion for punk, grind and death metal alongside their best friends and touring partners. The band surfaced and raised traction for the very first time in 2013, by releasing a 3-song EP for free download, recorded at the Antfarm Studios with Tue Madsen (MESHUGGAH, BEHEMOTH, THE HAUNTED) at the helm. Playing select shows and festival appearances, the band kept writing material but never released it to the masses, until five years later.
So what do you get when you throw NAPALM DEATH, BOLT THROWER, MORBID ANGEL and a dash of MASTODON into a musical cooking pot? The answer is; BLOOD EAGLE. Glorified by the metal media as a Danish "supergroup" consisting of metal veterans, according to the band there is nothing super about it, other than their good friendship and love for old school death metal. BLOOD EAGLE is an unstoppable force, launching their long-awaited debut album in three parts: 'To Ride In Blood & Bathe In Greed' I, II, III via NUCLEAR BLAST RECORDS.
BLOOD EAGLE is:
Michael Olsson | Vocals
Mircea Gabriel Eftemie | Guitars
Franz Hellboss | Guitars
