Polish pagan group Varmia – who pay tribute to their Baltic roots by combining black metal with traditional instruments such as the goat horn and the tagelharpa – have revealed their first new music since 2021’s ‘bal Lada’ album. The new song “Oddal” is presented as a standalone video (no digital single at this time) and comes as an introduction for the intriguing and unique group’s next chapter. The music video can be viewed at https://youtu.be/OEYpZyj1ANU “In the near future we will share our three new pieces. A musical and visual triptych, which in fact is a prologue to what’s next to come,” further explains vocalist/guitarist Lasota. “For the first time in our history, we’ve felt that the album needs some sort of introduction, an opening. So, here’s the first lift of the veil. ‘Oddal’ is a Polish word for seclusion, distance and isolation. We invite you there.” “Oddal” opens the band’s new EP, ‘Prolog,’ that will be released January 6th across all digital platforms. You can pre-save or pre-order ‘Prolog’ now at www.smarturl.com/varmiapresave Varmia was formed in 2016 by composer Lasota with a mission of fusing black metal with musical influences that pay tribute to the ancient Baltic tribes of the historical Warmia region of northern Poland. Vocally, harsh growls shroud the band's music and native Polish lyrics in a visceral aura, the only breaks occurring when using the traditional, ancient technique of “whitevoice” clean singing as utilized during ancient East-Central European rituals, rites of passage and festivals. Meanwhile, the power of the band's metal influences are enhanced by traditional ethnic instrumentation of the Baltic Rites via sounds of tagelharpa, goat horn, wood tuba and krivula. The final result is a compelling mix of dark metallic sounds that channel the spirit of early Enslaved, Satyricon and Wolves in the Throne Room and folk elements that drive acts such as Wardruna and Heilung. Varmia has released three albums to date – 2017's ‘Z mar twych,’ 2018's ‘W ciele nie’ and 2021’s international release, ‘bal Lada,’ their first collaborating with M-Theory Audio. The group records all of their music in culturally significant remote locations throughout their native Poland. More information on Varmia and the upcoming release of the ‘Prolog’ EP will be unveiled by M-Theory Audio in the weeks to come, and by Varmia. www.facebook.com/varmiaband www.instagram.com/varmiaband www.smarturl.com/varmia https://varmiaband.bandcamp.com www.m-theoryaudio.com

Polish heavy metal act Airstrike is poised to unleash its debut album on November 18th 2022! Titled "Power in Your Hand", the new release features 11 tracks of classic heavy thrash tunes that tackle subjects on society, war, politics and pseudo-psychological concepts. The band recently dropped their first single accompanied by a music video for the track "Prey". Check it out here: https://youtu.be/pJEtWzdl0wQ The band comments on some of the tracks that will appear on "Power in Your Hand": "Some of the lyrics are more obvious, such as First to Fight: "Ready to fight, ready to strike...", where it is clearly about the fight, war, and resistance. The song itself is also fast and makes you quickly decide if you don't have time to think about what to do at the moment. The best defence is attack. The track "I Deny" was supposed to be a manifesto of opposition, but due to the quite positive and energetic riff, the message may be perceived differently than intended, but that's good - the track has evolved. Regarding the evolution of the tracks, it is due to the fact that the album was created quite a long time, the tracks just changed over time and just evolved just like us. The subject of the songs is a bit anti-war, a bit anti-political, pseudo-psychological, eccentric, energetically lyrical, trying to force some reflection or reflection alongside hi-speed riffs." "Power in Your Hand" will be released independently on November 18th 2022 on CD and digital streaming platforms. For more info, head to: http://www.airstrike.pl Members of the band:

Witchmaster ends its seven-year slumber to bring more chaos and clamour through the art of blackened thrash metal. Since 1996, the band descends deeper and deeper into an absurd theatre of cruelty, pursuing the cold embrace of aural depravity and darkness. "Sipping blood from skulls and gnawing the bones of old gods, we hope to let you down once again," comments the band perversely. "Kaźń" was recorded at Satanic Audio (Blaze of Perdition, Behemoth) by Haldor Grunberg and mixed and mastered at the same studio by Haldor Grunberg and Inferno. Cover artwork by Durda. Witchmaster comprises bassist and vocalist Reyash (Azarath (live), ex-Vader, Supremer Lord), guitarist and vocalist Kali (Five the Hierophant, ex-Profanum), drummer and guitarist Inferno (Azarath, Behemoth) and vocalist Bastis (ex-Profanum). Spreading vital messages of peace, awareness and warning through the power of their culturally-driven music, Tangaroa proves a massive next step for the band – encompassing all of the elements that make Alien Weaponry heavy metal’s most authentic rising stars. Following the release of their three previous Tangaroa music videos for "Tangaroa", "Buried Underground", and "Hatupatu", today, in anticipation of their winter and early 2023 performance plans supporting both Guns N' Roses and Gojira, Alien Weaponry have dropped an official video for none other than their album closer track "Down The Rabbit Hole". The track extends an important proclamation against bullying through the eyes and experiences of frontman Lewis de Jong. Lewis de Jong says about "Down The Rabbit Hole": "This was an absolute blast to film! 'Down The Rabbit Hole' represents the growth I've experienced throughout my life and putting to bed demons from the past. The video captures the meaning well - the broken objects representing said demons. It’s the rough times in life that make you who you are, as long as you rise above it." Watch the brand new official music video for “Down The Rabbit Hole” HERE As mentioned above, Alien Weaponry is thrilled to be hitting the road this winter and next spring with some of rock and metal's biggest icons. In December, the band will support Guns N' Roses on two shows in their home country of New Zealand, and will pick back up to join Gojira on a tour of the UK and Europe in February 2023. Alien Weaponry online: Behemoth, the high priests of extreme metal have announced their 12th studio album, Opvs Contra Natvram, their most thought-provoking and arresting collection to date, set for release on September 16th, via Nuclear Blast. The album's first single, 'Ov My Herculean Exile' arrives today, alongside a cinematic official video, directed by Zuzanna Plisz. The 10 chapters of fury that make up Opvs Contra Natvram were written and recorded over the course of a very strange year for the globe - a situation which only heightened the level of craft seen in these 43 minutes and 15 seconds of searing wrath. As with previous studio outings, Opvs… was produced by Behemoth, with mixing by studio legend Joe Barresi (Nine Inch Nails, Tool, QOTSA, Alice in Chains).
Renowned for his meticulous attention to detail and absolute creative control of Behemoth’s world, frontman and band visionary, Adam 'Nergal' Darski revelled in the depressurised environment afforded by the pandemic. It meant that for nearly the first time since the band’s inception over 30 years ago, there was no deadline to observe, allowing for a nearly unprecedented level of attention to the process of writing and recording. Beyond any confines of genre, Behemoth have grown to become nothing less than the personification of rebellion, individuality and unflinching self-expression informed by a literate worldview and worldliness that’s resulted in a locking of horns with everything from the mainstream press to the Polish Catholic church – most notably manifesting in Nergal’s trial for blasphemy in 2010 that only served to expose the deep-seated hypocrisies that his music seeks to challenge. Nergal states: “The album title means going against the current. It’s the negative of the values and morals and ethics that I stand against. I’ve seriously been wrestling with destructive tendencies in pop culture - cancel culture, social media, and tools which I feel are very dangerous weapons in the hands of people who are not competent to judge others. That’s something which I find very destructive and disturbing - and extremely limiting coming from an artists’ perspective. This is my middle finger to that. There’s a song on the record called 'Neo-Spartacvs'. Spartacus was one of the most iconic rebels in history who went against the most powerful empire of all time. In the end, it’s me screaming, ‘I Am Spartacus, and so are you!’ I want to spark that flame of rebellion. If something seems wrong then stand up to it!” Album artwork: Anton 'Strss893' Pavsyuk Opvs Contra Natvram tracklist: POST-GOD NIRVANA MALARIA VVLGATA THE DEATHLESS SUN OV MY HERCULEAN EXILE NEO-SPARTACVS DISINHERITANCE OFF TO WAR! ONCE UPON A PALE HORSE THY BECOMING ETERNAL VERSVS CHRISTVS Opvs Contra Natvram features twin cover art available in both black and white and will be released in the following array of physical formats, certain to thrill collectors of limited editions:
Following the release of their highly anticipated studio album Requiem via Loma Vista Recordings in February, Korn shares a new video for the next single "Worst Is on Its Way". The Craig Bernard and Culley Bunker-directed visual shows the band's high energy performance of the song in greyscale as individual members of the band are decomposed into animated particles with a series of visual effects. The 9-track album features the hit single "Start the Healing," which peaked at #1 on the Active Rock chart, in addition to the previously released tracks "Forgotten," which Rolling Stone described as "explosive" and "Lost In The Grandeur," which dropped as a final taste of Requiem just a few days before the record's release. Recently described by GQ as "bold and iconoclastic" and released to high acclaim including recent features on the covers of Revolver and King Kong magazines, Requiem is produced by Korn and Chris Collier. Energized by a new creative process free of time constraints, the band was able to do things with Requiem that the past two decades haven't always afforded them, such as taking additional time to experiment together or diligently recording to analogue tape - processes which unearthed newfound sonic dimension and texture in their music. Additionally, Korn is slated to take their live show across a worldwide run of headline festival and amphitheater tour dates kicking off this summer and running into the fall. The extensive tour begins with a headline performance at Daytona Beach's Welcome To Rockville festival before kicking off EU/UK dates in Amsterdam on May 25th. The tour will see stops in Berlin, London, Stockholm, Budapest and more before returning stateside for dates in Denver, Charlotte, Dallas, Boise and others. Tickets are currently available for purchase HERE. Watch "Worst Is On Its Way" and listen to Requiem above, see full tour routing, album details and information on the band below and stay tuned for more Korn coming soon. Upcoming Live Dates EU/UK

Connect with Korn: Instagram | Twitter | Facebook | Website Poland's multifaceted, extreme metal band Entropia (originating from Oleśnica in Lower Silesia) has signed a record deal with Agonia Records. Entropia combines a number of genres, from krautrock and electronic music, to sludge and black metal, filtered through a prism of metallic extremity. With three studio albums to its name - "Vesper" (2013), "Ufonaut" (2016) and "Vacuum" (2018) - the five-piece pushed and evolved its base sound to develop a unique sonic perspective, drenched in psychedelia. The latter plays a major part in the band's image and conceptual approach. Entropia's output is met with growing interest from metal and non-metal community, having the group play Roadburn Festival, Primavera Sound, OFF Festival, Mystic Festival and a European tour supporting US black / folk act Wayfarer. The band contributed to the video game Cyberpunk 2077, by having their song "Future Drugs" appear on the official soundtrack. Entropia's members perform under a joint moniker ULTRA. Their sight is set on releasing their fourth album titled "Total" on Agonia Records. "We have the pleasure to announce that our new album 'Total' will be released later this year via Agonia," comments Entropia. "With a hint of irony, the album was announced as the soundtrack to the end of the world. Now it's clear, that our announcement should have been taken literally."
Polish death metallers Catharsis have released the first music video from their latest album Human Failures released mid 2021 via Mad Lion Records. The aesthetics of the video reflects the band's fascinations with old black & white horror movies and was shot in the original ruins of the mausoleum nearby the palace in Sławików (Poland). Watch "Your Truth" HERE. The video was directed by Marcin Pawłowski, who is also the author of the script. Movie editing and digital processing was done by Endorfina Artmedia. Adam Mamok comments: "We are very pleased with the end result. This time it took us a long time to get the whole thing completed. The plot is divided into two parts. A story, which is a metaphore for the lyrics of "Your Truth" and shots of the band. I admit, that it was great fun for us and we discovered each other in new roles. The convention of an old movie from the 1930s adds to the dark atmosphere of this video.” https://www.facebook.com/catharsispl/ https://www.instagram.com/catharsis_official/ https://open.spotify.com/artist/4AqykaCLr6B4KHdOFSBDBN https://www.facebook.com/madlionrecords |
