Classically-trained Metal diva Ayin Aleph unveils Avant Garde music video for "Crystal Bell"‏

Classically trained pianist, composer, vocalist and an accomplished writer / performer Ayin Aleph recently released her operatic, avant garde new single "Crystal Bell" via Elliptic Entertainment (order here). The teaser for her highly-anticipated music video for the track already boasts over 130,000 views - an impressive feat for a new, independent artist.

Today, Ayin is finally giving fans what they've been waiting for by releasing said music video - a visually extravagant offering accenting the Baroque / opera-influenced metal style of the track. You can watch the video today, exclusively via Bloody-Disgusting.com: http://bloody-disgusting.com/music/3396638/ayin-aleph-crystal-bell-video-premiere-exclusive/

The video for "Crystal Bell" was shot in Los Angeles over the course of three non-consecutive days. The video features three distinct locations, directed with the assistance of three different directors and cinematographers. Under the direction of Ayin Aleph, Denis Sobolev coordinated the group scenes, cinematographer and "Crystal Bell" video editor Gene Avakyan oversaw the glamour scenes and drone camera operation, and the underwater scenes were filmed with special techniques at the direction of Alex Sherman.

"Crystal Bell" was born in a moment of realization that we spend our lives searching for love while despising the ones who love us," states Ayin Aleph. She adds, "The video marks a turning point of the visual and musical expression of Ayin Aleph. Blurring the lines of fantasy and reality, the video portrays Ayin as an array of extravagant female archetypes - a sexy 50's pin-up character, an opera singer, a victim of drowning symbolizing love, a sexy vintage casino manager getting killed after a fight, and beyond. The video was shot in three days in Los Angeles with different cinematographers, notably because of the technical requirements of underwater filming and drone shots. Pulling together this profusion of elements with the amazing editing support of my drummer Shad Wilhelm was a challenging and tremendously rewarding experience!"

Eclectic and provocative, Ayin Aleph seeks to elevate the majesty inherent to classical music with the power of modern, progressive influences to create a new form of opera and pianistic neo-classical music, that is one viable to mass markets. That journey led to the formation of the band that carries her name, collaborations with some of the industry's top musicians and producers, the recording of 3 albums, 7 video productions, and live performances all over the world.

Ayin Aleph's upcoming album (currently in production) has been described as, "J.S. Bach and Freddie Mercury's love child marries Danny Elfman, while having a torrid affair with Pantera."

Although somewhat underground in the rock and metal scenes, Ayin Aleph is no stranger to the world of music. Ayin first played piano at the age of four, and by the time she was six, she was performing with a symphony orchestra. She was soon recognized by noted composer Dimitri Kabalevski as "one of the most promising virtuosos of her generation." By the age of 10, Ayin was composing and performing original pieces, in concert, for the Composers' Union in Moscow. Ayin continued her musical education in renowned institutions - Moscow Conservatory, The Royal Conservatory of Brussels, The European Conservatory in Paris. Gifted with perfect pitch, her experience and educational disciplines have augmented an organic process of original composition allowing her to use a lot of different musical styles within the frame of a song.

Ayin Aleph is:

Shad Wilhelm - drums
Will Tone - guitars

Cayman Islanders Oni unleash their new music video for "Eternal Recurrence"‏

Solidifying their position as a band to watch in 2016, rising progressive metal band ONI saw their breakout moment earlier this year with the release of their blistering new track "Eternal Recurrence". Showcasing the band's ability to meld chaotic progressive time signatures with blazing solos and heavy grooves (with the unique inclusion of "xylo-synth"), "Eternal Recurrence" soars as the band's first of several planned singles cut from their upcoming full-length album, Ironshore, scheduled to hit stores this fall.

Today marks the release of the band's new music video for "Eternal Recurrence". Directed by Abraham Roofeh and filmed in vocalist Jake Oni's home locale of the Cayman Islands, the video depicts a man running from a mysterious masked assailant - but is this assailant really a stranger? Watch the video now, exclusively via Metal Injection: http://www.metalinjection.net/video/oni-is-the-strange-straight-forward-progressive-metal-band-you-need

ONI frontman Jake Oni states, "It was a pleasure filming the video in the Cayman Islands. It's very convenient working from home, although the performance was brutal at times. When the guys and myself were done filming, we couldn't even walk the next day! After headbanging for what felt like an eternity, there was nothing better than laying on the ground!

When we first saw the treatment for the video, it was hard to imagine how it would turn out, however it exceeded all of our expectations. The sunny island felt more dystopian than anything else and our director captured the meaning of the song and the look of the band perfectly. Overall, it was a blast to work on and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!"

The band's upcoming new album Ironshore is packed full of contrasts and contradictions, grace and violence, and with the band disinterested in churning out endless soundalikes, each has a distinct character of its own - or more accurately characters of its own, since they refuse to limit themselves to a single mood or tone.

With Jake Oni handling vocal duties, Martin Andres and Brandon White on guitar, Chase Bryant on bass and Joe Greulich on drums, they are also perhaps the first metal band to feature a xylo-synth player, in the form of Johnny D, which adds an interesting and intriguing dynamic.

Stay tuned for much more coming from ONI in anticipation of their upcoming album release this fall.

UK's Dreamwaves announce label signing & release date

18/6/2016

British Progressive Metallers Dreamwaves are set to release their brilliant debut EP, “Elements” on August 15th through indie label Infectious Sounds. Label owner Phil Gavin Bennett had this to say on the signing:

“Infectious Sounds are pleased to announce the signing of Brighton based Tech Metal band Dreamwaves, featuring ex members of Callista & Asperitas! The new EP will be available for pre-orders very soon!”

Guitarist David Lovejoy stated:

"We're extremely happy to put this EP out via Infectious sounds. Its been in the works for over a year now and we can't wait for everyone to hear it!"

Dreamwaves is an instrumental progressive metal band from the south coast of the UK. Although new to the scene, they are already making an impact; playing shows with the likes of Cambion, Exist Immortal and Shields, to name a few. Dreamwaves effortlessly blend an impressive technicality, with a broad appreciation for melody and accessibility into their music. Incorporating staple metal sounds, with classical elements and an underlined nod to contemporary pop.

Resting somewhere between the instrumental dynamics of Cynic, SiKTh & Animals As Leaders; Dreamwaves’s debut EP, “Elements”, flies between crushing heaviness, high octane guitar histrionics and layered ambience. Tracks like “Nines” scream out of the stereo with an exceptional urgency and charm, while “Echo” showcases a flirtation with jazz-infused melodies and borderline Converge level aggression, while the piano lead “Breeze” evolves and churns with masterful skill.

While a young band, Dreamwaves have worked hard to push the limitations of their genre. With a strong EP firmly under their belts and with dates lining up, the young quartet are one to watch for fans of mind bending musical ingenuity
