English Black metallers Abduction have released a snarling bleak new single / video for 'A Psylacybic Death' featuring Revenant Marquis. 'A Psylacybic Death' is the second visceral single to be released from Abduction's new album, Black Blood, which is set for release on 21st October via Candlelight Records.
Abduction state: "'A Psylacybic Death' speaks, obtusely, of wisdom lost through time. The song entails a drug induced death ritual inspired by the Eleusinian Mysteries whereby the subject hallucinates and is visited by creatures of the cosmic realm, before dissolving from tangible terra firma into the ether. The illusive RM of Revenant Marquis performed a particularly heinous ritual across this track, at my request. I am very pleased to have collaborated with him. 'I wish no ill, but all to death.'" Formed in 2016 as a shadowy single-man entity, Abduction have made astonishingly fast progress, carving a fearsome reputation for themselves as a standout act in an increasingly crowded extreme metal scene. Performing alone in the early years – a rare sight, despite the many one-man bands in the genre – Abduction’s central protagonist A|V then expanded the band into a full live outfit, to better create intense, ritualistic and immersive performances, both at underground shows and larger festivals.
The forthcoming release of Black Blood sees Abduction’s most ambitious and rewarding album to date. Recorded – like its predecessor, 2019’s All Pain As Penance – by Ian Boult at Stuck on a Name Studios in Nottingham, this nightmarish yet entrancing listen pushes Abduction into new territories without straying from their core sound. From the hypnotically earnest and haunting opener ‘In Exaltation of the Supreme Being’, to the expansive 11-minute epic ‘Plutonian Gate’, with its marked progressive and psychedelic overtones, to the blend of uncompromising, stripped-down black metal and slower, almost post-metal textures of ‘A Psylacybic Death’, it is an intense and dynamic experience. Black Blood draws both from the band’s roots and new inspirations. The fact that members of British black metal bands The Sun’s Journey Through the Night and Revenant Marquis appear is a welcome nod to where Abduction come from, yet the fact that the band are atypical for a UKBM act – no rousing odes to England or 90s Scandinavian formulas here – is perhaps their most precious attribute. Their distinctive qualities have also earnt them a place on the roster of one of extreme metal’s most famous labels, Candlelight Records, a definite milestone. “Before this album was recorded, I knew I wanted to step things up a few notches in terms of taking this vision to a wider audience,” A|V states. “Candlelight approached me – indirectly, as they didn’t know who I was behind the mask – and offered a deal that more than meets where I want to take this project. Rather than continue to exist in the well-established sphere I’ve grown comfortable in, I decided that now is the time to take a leap into the unknown. Much like the narratives of the songs, there is both trepidation and elation. Time will be the judge…” Abduction online: Candlelight Records online: Website || Facebook || Twitter || Instagram || Youtube

The progressive metalcore whirlwind Mask of Prospero release their new video / single "Lament". The song is the first single out from their upcoming album "Hiraeth", which will be released in January 2023 via ViciSolum Productions. Mask of Prospero is a progressive metalcore band that was built based on love for the human and the earthly element of life, for the feelings that spring from music, but also for the music that springs from this feeling. The character of a band, after all, is not formed only by the externalization of ideas, but mostly through an internal struggle to construct a unique identity. "Lament" is a dialogue of the soul, penetrating deep emotions above and beyond what man has been able to hear. It is a form of awareness, emanating from realistic experiences teeming with cynicism and melancholy, based on an axiom: that every person who happens to be a part of your daily routine, even for a while, lives a life as vivid and complex as yours· people who have been in our lives for a while and have treated us badly or made us realize things, and then disappear, leaving behind ashes of experiences, but also traces that may never be erased. Thus far, they have released a demo, an EP and will present their first full-length “Quest for Absolution” in 2023. Originally, they were an old-school style thrash metal band, but with time have started experimenting with different sounds and progressions. It’s an amalgamation of the different influences that each band member has picked up over the years allowing them to start fusing genres such as thrash, technical death, a hint of jazz, and progressive metal together. These varied influences can be heard in the single “Archons of Death”, which they comment on: “This was the fifth song we wrote for the album and it ended up being the opener as we feel it gets straight to the point and was a great way to introduce our listeners to the new sound. It took a while to write, as originally we had planned for it to be much longer and much more intricate, but we decided to cut those parts to keep it simple and memorable. “Archons,” tells the story of these godlike beings of another dimension, who come to “sterilize humankind” as it is their belief that humans are a corrupt and inferior species. Therefore, they wish to “cleanse their souls” by extermination in hopes that they will be reborn as a better and more complete species.” “Archons of Death” is essentially the prequel to the title track, telling the story from their perspective while “Quest for Absolution,” tells the same story from the human’s perspective and how they deal with facing death from these omnipotent beings. The album is a journey through space, touching on subjects such as alien invasion and escaping earth for survival. Other songs also talk about the demise of humanity, war, drug addiction, and mental / physical struggles. Dynamic, aggressive, and technical, the goal for Rising Sun is to take the listeners on a journey; a rollercoaster of melodic, yet intense riffage! The band enjoys exploring intriguing and often dark topics such as the ones present in the album. They are recommended for fans of Vektor, Obscura, and Coroner. The lyric video for “Archons of Death” can be seen and heard via its premiere on TheCirclePit - https://youtu.be/BK2e5XQfcKs Digital - https://linktr.ee/risingsun The band was formed in 2018 from a collection of ambitious and talented kids with a shared interest in interesting music. Their unique brand of entertainment fuses speed and precision with energetic and interactive performances that make you realize there are still many innovative and interesting bands in modern-day metal. Rising Sun had the pleasure of opening for iconic bands such as Warbringer and Enforcer, and was set to open for Flotsam & Jetsam in 2020, however, it was cancelled due to COVID -19. Rising Sun’s EP “Language of the Warrior” was well received and charted at number 1 on the CJSR 88.5 FM charts in Edmonton for multiple weeks. Currently, the band is working on their debut full-length album, titled “Quest for Absolution”, which features a change in the band’s style, as the music is much more technical and progressive than the last effort. The album is set for release in early 2023, with a Canadian tour to follow in support of it. https://www.facebook.com/risingsunthrash https://www.instagram.com/risingsunthrash Helsinki based progressive melodic metal band Numento has released a new single from their upcoming second album to be released on October 28th. The theme of the track "The Vile Entity" as well as the main theme on the whole full length record is about the essence and manifestation of evilness. Band backgrounds the song: "The Vile Entity is the title track of Numento's upcoming second album. The third single introduces the new intensive sound of the band comprehensively and gives an accurate overview of what is going to be expected from the album as a whole. The themes of the album and the title track are built on an enigma about the seed of evil, how does a human or other entity become evil -- how are serial killers and other criminals born? The new single will dive right into this question since the antagonist of the story is one of the most famous and cunning serial murderers ever known, and who managed to hide his true face for a long time by appearing innocent to the people around him. The story of the single will be introduced with a visually interesting and thrilling music video."
The origin of Numento dates back to 2004. That year a few schoolmates from eastern Helsinki decided to start playing instruments. And of course before anyone had learned a single chord it felt mandatory to also form a band. A metal band. During the following years the band changed its name a couple times. It wasn’t until late 2010 when the band decided to change its name for the last time. The name Numento was chosen after a long night. The lineup has had few changes after that, but it was that time that the band started to find it's own sound that you can still recognize in their music. NUMENTO:
Finnish extreme metallers Anzillu return with “The Cleansing Flame” music video and digital single7/10/2022 Finnish extreme metal phenoms Anzillu – whose sound is punctuated by buzz-saw guitar riffs delivered with equal amounts of dexterous shredding and pummelling brute force – release the third sample from their anticipated debut album. Today “The Cleansing Flame” digital single is available on all streaming and download platforms and you can watch the video here - https://youtu.be/BAYtMtM3mJQ. Compiled from studio photos taken of the band during the recording process of ‘Ex Nihilo’ at the famed Sonic Pump Studio with producer Nino Laurenne (Amorphis, Wintersun, Lost Society) producing and mixing. “’The Cleansing Flame’ is a track I wanted to write about driving a big block muscle car,” explains guitarist Jesse Kämäräinen. “Although the lyrics don’t have anything to do with it, the music I had in mind was written as a soundtrack to the smell of gasoline and the sound of loud V8 engines. The song has a mean attitude and drive to it and it takes an unexpected turn in the bridge.” “The lyric video is composed of photographs from the recording sessions of the upcoming debut album. Now one year later, those photos bring back great memories and we wanted to share them with you too. Some gearheads may also be interested about the process and equipment we used.” As mentioned, “The Cleansing Flame” is the third offering from the group following up slamming numbers like “Trumpets Of War” https://youtu.be/AqGvf-qLHFg and “Needles (On My Nerves)” https://youtu.be/AVY2HntvZR8. Keep an eye out for more information about next year’s full album release, ‘Ex Nihilo,’ and pre-order options for CD and limited coloured vinyl soon. Though the band itself is new, the musicians comprising Anzillu are not inexperienced. The new group – whose name is inspired by the ancient Sumerian word for “abomination” - was formed in 2019 by guitarist Jesse Kämäräinen after the dissolution of his previous group Inkvisitor, which released two records of thrash-influenced extreme metal between 2015 and 2018. Kämäräinen had already demoed an album's worth of new material at the time of that development, and went on to bring in a battery of fellow notables that had also been making their names within Finnish metal circles to form Anzillu. The searing vocal talents of Teemu Kemppainen (Argent Void), the thunderous bass of Rasmus Kantonen, and the death metal crunch of fellow guitarist Sami Katajainen (GAF) join Kämäräinen's six-string powers to deliver a blistering assault of aural senses. Anzillu – now armed with a full album's worth of material and their collective metallic powers – honed the existing demos into their final form throughout the first half of last year, and entered Sonic Pump Studios in August 2021 with Nino Laurenne (Wintersun, Amorphis, Lost Society) behind the soundboard handling recording/mixing duties and Svante Forsbäck (Volbeat, Candlemass, Kalmah) mastering. More information on Anzillu their debut album, and their plans for additional live shows will be revealed in the weeks to come by M-Theory Audio and at www.facebook.com/anzillufi. ANZILLU is:

Polish Black Metal band Funeral Mass signs with Marquee Records to release their third full-length album Shadow of the Raventhrone. Album will be released on December 2, 2022. In the meantime you can listen to the album opener "With Sinister Spell" on Black Metal Promotion YouTube channel here: https://youtu.be/Rqyrhwe5kY0 The track is also available on band's official Bandcamp here: https://funeralmass.bandcamp.com/track/with-sinister-spell "With Sinister Spell" - is a pure ode to the black magic and evil spirits enchanted in a forceful opener for our upcoming album. Formed in June 2018 Funeral Mass represents melodic black metal with influences both of modern, ambitious metal style and old-school Scandinavian melodic scene. From the very beginning, the band quickly developed its sound which results in the first recording released on October 31st, 2018 - "Cold Winds of Desolation EP". In 2019, Funeral Mass, by the hand of Mara Production, releases its first full album called "At the Crossroads of Dark Paths". In July 2020 the second album shows up - "Forgotten Kingdoms of the North" - released by the band itself. Currently, Funeral Mass is preparing to reveal its newest album: "Shadow of the Raventhrone". Current line-up: Kamil Żerański - Guitars and vocals Dmytro Kvashnin - Guitars Jerzy Wieliński - Bass Ignacy Macikowski - Drums https://funeralmass.bandcamp.com https://www.facebook.com/FuneralMassMetal Award-winning Italian producer, multi-instrumentalist, arranger, and re-mixer, NeroArgento will be releasing his sixth studio album "Land of Silence" via Rockshots Records on October 7th, 2022. In lead up to its release later this week, NeroArgento is sharing the single "The Nameless One" featuring Infernalizer. NeroArgento adds: "This was the first collaboration for the album. I've known Infernalizer for many years along with performing with him in The Silverblack and producing all his solo albums, so this collaboration came together very naturally. We worked on a super electro-industrial contaminated song, acid synths, cyberpunk atmospheres, and a lot of fxs. Enjoy!"
"Land of Silence" follows the success of 2020's “Circles”, which soared to #10 on the iTunes Top 200 Italy Rock Chart along with more than 1 million streams on Spotify. The new record is an explosive mixture of grunge rock, industrial metal, and electronic music, packed with orchestral influences and acid fuzzy sounds. It is also the most coherent album to date from NeroArgento's discography. It's a solid industrial foundation composed of unmistakable low-tuned guitar riffs and very heavy drum grooves, topped with electronics and synths ranging from the most acid electro to retro wave pop-friendly melodies, without forgetting the usual and distinctive vocal layers. With great attention to every aspect, "Land of Silence" is entirely performed, recorded, and mixed by NeroArgento. The record was mastered by Brandon Ashley at D-Tuned in Brighton (UK) and features prominent guests such as Vicio (Subsonica) and Claudio Ravinale (Infernalizer). "Land Of Silence" will be released on October 7h, 2022, as Digital & CD Digipak, pre-sales: https://bit.ly/LandOfSilenceCD NeroArgento adds: "I’m super excited about 'Land of silence'. This is my most consistent album, and every track sounds distinct. I always loved to contaminate and mix a lot of genres together trying something new, but as my past album “Circles” shows with its results, keeping a strong line and working on that is the best choice. I’m super satisfied also because once again I did and played everything on my own. The album has super melodic and mainstream moments, but keeps the focus on that line, so this is an industrial cyber metal record, while in the past the only kind of music definition could be classified as 'crossover'." As a producer/arranger NeroArgento has appeared on more than 50 records released worldwide and is endorsed by ESP guitars, ML sound Labs, and Mad Cat Amps.
Album Credits (music, cover/art, production) All instruments by NeroArgento, recorded, produced, mixed and mastered by NeroArgento at AExeron Studio (Turin, Italy) except “The way I am” mixed and mastered by Brandon Ashley at D-Tuned Brighton and “Land of silence” mixed and mastered at Punto V by Luca Vicini Original Artwork by Saber Core https://www.rockshots.eu https://www.neroargento.info https://www.facebook.com/alessioneroargento https://www.instagram.com/aleneroargento The next chapter in the epic journey of Lorna Shore is upon us, leading up to the release of new album, Pain Remains (due to be unleashed October 14th via Century Media Records): "Pain Remains II: After All I've Done, I'll Disappear". Currently streaming on all digital platforms, the age-gated video (directed by David Brodsky // http://www.mgenyc.com) can be viewed here: https://youtu.be/JFJ5fF7cbE0 The band comments on "The Pain Trilogy": "'The Pain Trilogy' is a three-part tale focusing on the stages of grief and vulnerability and exemplifying it through a love story. The first song, 'Pain Remains I: Dancing like Flames' begins with the main character becoming enamoured by the person within his dreams. He decides to turn to this reality as a sense of purpose despite knowing that the closer he gets to his goal, the further it seems to drift away. This leads to the second song, 'Pain Remains II: After All I've Done, I'll Disappear'. This is the part where the person vanishes and the main character struggles to accept the pain. He as well wishes to disappear and seeks to throw it all away. Lorna Shore supports suicide prevention and support. We encourage all to speak to their issues and spark conversations that help and mend us all. National suicide prevention hotline: 800-273-8255" Don't miss the final part of the trilogy that will unfold when the album is released on October 14th! Blame Kandinsky have also revealed their first glimpse of the album via the strikingly beautiful and viscerally funny video for 'Ruined'.
Guitarist Marios Samaris comments: “The concept behind the album is one’s lifelong struggle. In a world that’s asphyxiating with indecency, racism, inequality and greed, we try to stay empathic and honest. Eclectic Ruiner shares the thought that pain is not an illusion, it is a part of us with a million faces that we observe and it observes us back.“ Of 'Ruined' itself, Marios says: “‘Ruined’ talks about those periods when you lay really low and you go through a battle with yourself trying either to accept you’re drowning, or to fight back and stand up again. There is no other person involved, it’s just you talking to your past self. The tricky part is that while this is coming over and over again, dredging up the past feels like two sides of the same coin, sometimes it makes you stronger and other times it shuts you down.“ A highly regarded group from Athens, Blame Kandinsky in their time have played alongside Cavalera Conspiracy, and toured multiple times across Europe. The band released their debut album Spotting Elegance In Chaos in 2017, recorded 100% live, capturing the very essence of a group steeped in the creative tradition of the best mathcore and melodic hardcore.
Due to COVID activity hiatus, Blame Kandinsky used the years to focus entirely on the compositional honing of Eclectic Ruiner. The group’s second album is a broad concept record about everyday struggle – it describes the idea that pain is not an illusion, and empathy is essential in order to survive. In a world asphyxiated by indecency, racism, inequality, and greed, the brutal honesty of Eclectic Ruiner shines though. Elements of Fall of Troy, The Chariot, Every Time I Die, and even Converge also blossom on a record that overflows with fury, melody, and passion. A true gem from the East. Blame Kandinsky are:
