Staying indoors for long periods of time does have its silver linings - for instance, more time for artistic inspiration! Jinjer fan Mychailo Halinin turned boredom and isolation into creativity and remade the seminal music video for "Perennial" from their 2019 EP Micro - with LEGO. Today, the band releases the video through the official channels. Watch the video HERE! Commented bass player Eugene Abdukhanov:- "Who has not played with LEGO as a kid? Who has not secretly dreamed of starring in their own LEGO MOVIE!? What a wonderful gift and pleasure this was to watch and now to release Perennial LEGO to the world … these are indeed very strange days but thank you Mychailo for making our day a little bit more bright and positive!" Devastating riffs, aggressive vocals, powerful melodies and astonishingly deep lyrics are what make their new album, Macro, Jinjer’s most advanced and undeniable album yet – taking the listener on a journey of trauma, power struggle and greed with a progressive groove metal backdrop. The band stated:- "Ghost Rider tells us a story of night warrior on hell-born motorcycle who gathers souls of sinners in the name of Satan. The song gets out the idea that concepts of the good and the evil can't be absolute, as far as the world is not black and white. Good acts can be fuelled by evil forces, while evil deeds can come from good ideas". The video was filmed during the band's captivating performance in Kiev in 2019 by Oleg Rooz (Suicidal Tendencies, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Enter Shikari). Commented bass player Eugene Abdukhanov:- "Back when we recorded this show we were on the tail end of a 6 month tour and somewhere in between all that madness we managed to write and record Macro... it was an extremely stressful time. But it was one of the most positive times of our lives. Things right now look pretty grim and no one knows what will happen next. We want to release this video with the hopes of letting people know that no matter how crazy, confusing and scary things get - BETTER TIMES are on the way. Let’s use the time at home in isolation to take a good look inside and learn about our true selves…" Watch “Pit Of Consciousness” HERE Stream the album version of “Pit Of Consciousness” via all platforms HERE! Thy Despair's new album "The Song of Desolation" follows the band's 2018 debut EP "Free One". Some of the album's lyrics are influenced by the war in eastern Ukraine. "It is a great tragedy for the nation and the main idea of these songs is that you should always fight back and keep freedom in your heart and mind. Lyrics of other songs are inspired by local legends or life experience. Even when everything goes extremely bad, you should still stay strong, struggle and hope for the best, otherwise you won’t survive or will turn into a slave with no backbone." says band founder Nephilim. The band emotionally states:- ""Retrospection" is one of the most personal songs we have ever written. Being a full time touring musician, spending most of the time on the road … of course we are making our biggest dream come true and living each day to the fullest, but nobody mentions that there is a dark side. We do not see people who devoted themselves to us entirely, who gave us everything they had and more… We miss them and they miss us in return, and yet we should call them more often… much more often than we do. I am talking about our parents. For most of the Jinjers, our parents are separated from us not only by distance, but also by war and politics. We don’t have an opportunity to visit our parents even when we are in Ukraine. And it feels like they are on the other side of the planet even if we are literally only 800 km away. The worst thing is that, now being in our 30s, year after year, it feels like the storm clouds are gathering above. We all know that the day will come when we will feel alone all of a sudden… and we will lose them. The people, but for whom, we’d never make it. The bitter taste of understanding this is almost unbearable. We look at this song as an anthem to the ones who raised us, who sacrificed everything for the sake of our happiness no matter what the costs, even despite our own thankless and ingratitude towards them. The people who showed us that the purest love ever does exist - the love of the father and mother for their children. Thank you. "Наши мамы и папы, мы хотим, чтобы вы знали, что мы тоже вас любим, и что без вас мы бы никогда не добились всего этого и не осуществили бы свою мечту. Спасибо вам за все - (Mom and Dad, we want you to know that we love you too, if not for you we’d never make it this far and never fulfil our dreams. Thank you for everything.)" Showcasing the band's diversity, the unique track not only features the typical technical finesse and sheer brutality, but also scores with heavy grooves and quiet, almost ballad-like moments as well as parts sung in the their native tongue, Ukrainian. The song was originally released on their latest full-length album, Macro, out now via Napalm Records. “It's been a while since I came home... My heart is elsewhere as I roam and roam..."
