THE WAIT IS OVER! ICONIC ‘TROOPER EDDIE’ comes to Iron Maiden’s Legacy Of The Beast Mobile game ahead of their 2018 European Tour.
Mobile games publisher, Nodding Frog and global rock legends Iron Maiden are proud to announce the arrival of seminal character, ‘Trooper Eddie’ to their award-winning Legacy Of The Beast mobile game.
Modelled on the character from the song, ‘The Trooper’ from 1983’s Piece of Mind album his arrival in the game emphasises the recent announcement that Maiden’s 2018 European Tour is named Legacy Of The Beast and takes inspiration from the mobile game and spin off comic book.
Comments Iron Maiden Manager, Rod Smallwood, “For this tour we decided to base the theme around the 'Legacy Of The Beast' name, which suits our purposes perfectly by giving us scope to play a lot of 80’s favourites and to get creative and have some fun, especially with Eddie! The game has always paid tribute to the recording and touring plans of the band with the timing, characters, worlds and even the launch of the PVP arena all having relevance to what the band were up to at any one time. With ‘The Trooper’ a mainstay of our touring set list for many years now I know our fans will finally love using ‘Trooper Eddie’ in the game. He looks incredible and his special ability is one of the wildest things we have seen in the game so far.”
The Trooper has finally been fully realised within Legacy Of The Beast and true to the lore of the doomed soldiers charging against all odds, he brings a series of team enhancing skills and abilities to make him and his brigade an unstoppable force on the battlefield…

The first ever official Iron Maiden comic book series is coming from leading US science fiction, fantasy and horror publishers Heavy Metal Publishing. The comic books are based on the band’s hit mobile role playing game, Iron Maiden: Legacy Of The Beast, where players battle as Eddie across the many worlds of Iron Maiden’s discography, from the ancient sands of Powerslave to the far flung future of The Final Frontier.
Comprising five fantastic issues, with an overarching narrative and incredible illustrations, Iron Maiden: Legacy of the Beast is written by Llexi Leon and Ian Edginton, with art from Kevin J. West, Jason Gorder, and Santi Casas. The first issue goes on sale worldwide from comic retailers everywhere on October 11th, but is available to pre-order online now. See full details below.
The comic book series expands on the video game narrative. As dark forces conspire to corrupt the fabric of reality, Eddie’s immortal soul is shattered and strewn across the cosmos – leaving a weakened, primal Eddie to battle across space and time facing off against the twisted legions of The Beast, seeking out the lost shards of his soul, and bringing order to the realms. With each victory, and with the aid of old friends, Eddie will restore his fearsome powers as he draws ever closer to facing the Unholy foe behind his fall… and thwarting a plot to unravel all of Creation!
Jeff Krelitz, CEO of Heavy Metal says, “As a lifelong fan of Iron Maiden, it is a privilege to publish the first official comic giving a narrative to their iconic mascot, Eddie. Heavy Metal’s near half-century-long history of either working with or launching the careers of only the most accomplished artists continues here with the amazing team Iron Maiden has working on this series.”
Llexi Leon, Interactive Creative Director at Phantom Music Management says, "After 40 years of unbridled creativity, innovation, and attitude, Heavy Metal has always been a home to the greatest talent in sequential storytelling and fantasy art. With a natural affiliation to the heavy music genre, it's a nexus point for counter culture and alternative arts. I can think of no better partner to explore Iron Maiden's Mythology and expand the Legacy Of The Beast!"
The official launch of the first issue is October 11th - at comic retailers everywhere. However, you can preorder a copy online NOW and get all the action delivered through your mailbox!

Judas Priest: Road To Valhalla innovates by making isolated song stems (eg drums, vocals, guitar) from the 2016 ‘Battle Cry’ album available to players exclusively within the game. “When we set out to make this game, we wanted to give fans a new kind of visual listening experience” said Rob Halford, who also appears in a series of exclusive video clips throughout the game. “For the first time, we are making individual stems of our songs available to fans to give them a new and interactive way to engage with some of the best songs from our catalogue.”

Iron Maiden: Legacy of the Beast, the action‐packed, free‐to‐play mobile game where players take on
the role of the band’s iconic mascot, Eddie. Available from today for iOS and Android devices, the teams at Nodding Frog, 50cc Games and Roadhouse Interactive have created a new and unique gaming experience in close collaboration with the band and its management team, Phantom Music Management.
The game is set in a visually stunning universe, comprised of an ever expanding series of worlds
derived from Iron Maiden's music and art. Fans of the band and RPG gamers alike will battle and
strategize as Eddie and his allies. Inspired by themes from the songs, and set against a powerful and
atmospheric Maiden soundtrack, players will journey on epic quests to reclaim the shards of Eddie’s
shattered soul as he faces his most challenging adversaries.
James Hursthouse, CEO of Roadhouse Interactive comments, “As a lifelong Maiden fan, I am exceptionally proud of Legacy of the Beast and excited to launch it globally. It has been a privilege to
work so closely with Maiden and their management. With this game I believe that we have created an
outstanding, authentic RPG experience to appeal to all mobile gamers, including those discovering the band for the first time.”
Steve Harris, Bassist and founder member of Iron Maiden comments, “We've always wanted to make
a quality Maiden mobile game as we think the combination of Eddie and the music is so well suited ‐
and it’s a great way to get our music out to a new audience! When the opportunity arose to make a
mobile game which our fans, along with hopefully a lot of the gaming community, can play pretty well
anywhere in the world, and download for free at that, we jumped at it. The whole band visited
Roadhouse while touring through Vancouver back in April and we were so impressed by the creativity,
enthusiasm and passion of the team there. Visually, the worlds and character designs do us proud and the music just ties it all together.”
Llexi Leon, Interactive Director of Phantom Music Management adds, “Eddie is constantly evolving;
he’s a globally recognizable character that resonates with fans of all ages, and has taken on a life of
his own beyond the album covers where he first appeared. This game gives players a chance to step
into Eddie’s world and experience an odyssey across space and time. In this incredible RPG adventure, we’re able to explore the origins of Eddie’s power and test the limit of his abilities, bringing new mechanics to the mobile RPG genre, and creating a truly unique gaming experience for everyone to enjoy."
In Iron Maiden: Legacy of the Beast, players control Eddie’s destiny across a spectacularly diverse
array of worlds by travelling through time in captivating 3D environments. Eddie appears in many forms, each a part of Iron Maiden’s rich history, and each with a set of special powers and abilities.
Players will amass an army of powerful allies to battle alongside Eddie and face the onslaught of foes
hell‐bent on destroying him. Legions of unrelenting enemies are commanded by the Agents of Control, including The Beast, The Wicker Man, Horus and The Axis General, all drawn from the
expansive catalogue of Maiden’s albums and artwork.
The game offers over 40 different Talisman sets to choose from, which all add to characters’ vital abilities. With each battle, players will evolve their armies, take on ever‐increasing challenges to
reclaim the facets of Eddie’s soul, and ultimately defeat the Agents of Control. Gameplay is enhanced by a blistering soundtrack that features songs spanning the band's entire career. Players will hear rare, previously unheard live recordings of Iron Maiden classics adapted for the game under the close scrutiny of bassist and founding member Steve Harris.
The game is now available for free on Apple’s App Store and Google Play. For more information about

Rob da Bank says:
“I’m not sure if there’s an emoji for ‘wetting yourself laughing’ yet but we need one for the Chuckle Brothers. I booked them as a bit of a laugh last year but they drew one of the biggest crowds of the weekend and had to do about 1000 selfies afterwards for some rabid fans. I’m still not sure I understand it all but i do love ‘em, and had to get them for all of our shows this year!”
Paul Chuckle says:
“Thanks for this great tribute but I have to say our time at Bestival last September was one of the best days we've ever had. We've done and appeared in many things including the Children's Royal Variety show, but can honestly say this matched anything. The day was amazing and we can't wait to do it all again this year. Great crowd, great guys to work with all round, and memories that will last for ever. See you all soon.
“PS. Can't wait”.
One of the country’s best loved double acts, The Chuckle Brothers are the premier slapstick team that kept generations of kids entertained with perfectly timed pratfalls in 22 series of their acclaimed ChuckleVision television show. Launching the catchphrases “to me, to you” and “oh dear, oh dear” into common parlance, their influence on youth culture shouldn’t be underestimated.
They’re a canny pair too, as well as getting in on the current grime revival right from the word go with ‘To Me, To You (Bruv)’ their collaboration with Tinchy Stryder, last year also saw the pair make their festival debut at Bestival in front of 14,000 people. We like to think we know a thing or two about festivals after 12 years out in the fields, but we can honestly say that the crowd reaction to the Chuckle Brothers was utterly astonishing, to say the least. What can only be described as unbridled joy filled the Big Top and a huge outpouring of emotion from the capacity crowd turned their 15-minute slot into one of the highlights of any Bestival. Ever.
And so, in celebration of their much-anticipated appearances this year, at not only Bestival but also Camp Bestival and Common People, 5th May has been declared 'Chuckle Brothers’ Day'. Join us in a gleeful celebration of a truly influential comedy duo who we think are criminally unsung. Take to the streets proclaiming ‘TO ME, TO YOU’ with all your heart, and make sure you honour Chuckle Brothers’ Day with some DIY slapstick fun.
The Chuckle Brothers will appear at:
Bestival Party – Bussey Building, London – 6th May
Common People – Southampton & Oxford 28th & 29th May www.commonpeople.net
Camp Bestival – Lulworth Castle Dorset – 28th – 31st July www.campbestival.net
Bestival - Robin Hill, Isle of Wight – 8th-11th September www.bestival.net
